My wife and I, with our children, have been weekly regulars here, sometimes coming in twice a week on the weekends. Our absolute favorite has been the Burgers & Brew night on Wednesdays and Thursdays, specifically since they rolled out the smash burgers a few months back. They are easily some of the best in the area. The tabletop adverts and menus clearly state "$9.99 ANY Burger." Now, we're reasonable people. When we order the Double Smash, it usually rings up around $12.99 or $13.99. Even though the ad explicitly says "ANY" burger, we never complained about paying a few bucks extra for the double patty because it made sense. But last Thursday was a completely different story. When the bill came, both of our double smash burgers were charged at the full regular menu price of $16.99 each. When I questioned our waitress about it, she casually told me, "Yes, the doubles are always regular price and aren't included in the special." Excuse me? This "little side note" is absolutely nowhere on the menu, the flyers, or the Burger & Brew adverts sitting right on the tables. The ad literally says "ANY burger." We weren't even expecting to get them for $9.99--we just expected the $12.99-$13.99 upcharge we've been paying for months! To completely pull the special out from under us with zero warning or menu notation is just sneaky. It's incredibly frustrating to get nickeled and dimed when you're loyal customers. Out of principle, this bait-and-switch pricing left such a bad taste in our mouths that our weekly visits are officially over. Plenty of other places in the area value their regulars more than this. P.S. We didn't just rush to blast them online, either. We tried contacting their customer service message system through both the app and the website on three separate occasions. Every single time, we got an automated response promising someone would get back to us within 3 days. It's now been 8 days. Dead silence. Incredible "customer service." read more

Our server was Emma and she was just so sweet and polite, super informative about the menu and gave great recommendations. She was great , the restaurant has a nice atmosphere to it too! Overall, great food, fair value, with a great sports bar atmosphere. A little loud for older individuals (we had our 70 year old parents with us and they noticed it, but was fine for us (late 40s). They have Gluten Free pizza crust, which is a plus for our group. We went during happy hour and they had very good specials (I think $3 draft and $6 apps at the time of this posting). Good experience overall. It was 5pm on Friday and service was a little slow, but we attributed that to the crowd. I'm traveling for business. The second night in a row my fries came out stone cold. I ask the lady to please wait a minute while I tried one. I said "these are disgusting, I'm not eating these." She said I don't like your attitude. Later to find out she is the general manager. The bar tender was a sweet heart. She apologized for everything. I definitely won't go back there. Had a party of ten on a Friday night. Was told it would be around 30-40 minutes. Got seated in 15! Great job! We had a lot of separate checks which I know servers dislike but Jessica (our AMAZING server) handled it like a pro! She was conversant, funny, and personable! Also had great hair! The atmosphere was exactly what you would expect. A little loud with football playing on several TV's and patrons enjoying themselves. I had the fish tacos. I'd give them a B+. The pico had pineapple in it which I wasn't a huge fan of but the meal was very good. Wife had wings drenched in garlic Parmesan sauce. They were large, messy, and juicy! A five star review from me does not come easily. I'm not a jerk or anything it's just that I have to have a place to put those restaurants that I thoroughly enjoyed and this Beer Barrel Pizza and Grill location fits that category. During my six day Lima, OH visit, I went there twice so far and will go there a third time before I head home if I can. There are three Lima locations but they have spread to a few more locations including one in Hilliard, a suburb of Columbus. If they can make it there, sky's the limit! The parking was great. All of the spots, even the crappy ones, were close to the door and no steps or curbs for those who have accessibility needs. When we walked in we were greeted right away by a friendly face who sat us immediately even though the place was packed...and it was only 5:30 PM. We were sat in a spacious booth that was perfectly clean with all the condiments you could ever want right at your finger tips without taking up too much of your table space. The pub was cavernous and checked all the boxes. High timbered ceilings, brick accents, huge TVs that you could see several of them from any seat jn the house and a huge U shaped bar. It was also nice that the foyer was cleverly placed out of view from the rest of the dining room avoiding distractions and likely cold bursts during the winter. Our waitress (can we still say waitress?) was new but obviously well trained and friendly. She got our drinks super quick which had plenty of ice which is ideal unless you have a server who never refills but we did not have that issue at all. She was bringing refills before we even had the chance to ask. Yes, that actually happens at some places and here was one of them. She was patient with us when it came to taking our order and had to come back twice while we tried to decide. Her words were never truer than when she said, "That's okay, take your time. It's a big menu." It is a huge menu with choices from pizza to fish to burgers to wings to Tex Mex to Italian. Almost overwhelming and I am always suspicious of big menus because most places with huge menus actually only do a couple things well. I don't think that is the case here based on my limited experience. We went with some of the signature dishes and so glad we did because we were totally impressed. As an appetizer, we chose the pretzel sticks and "Beer Cheese". Oh Nelly, that homemade signature beer cheese was the best I have ever had in a world where every pub seems to have a version. But not like this. The cheese is made with beer, cheddar, cream cheese, garlic and other ingredients that give it a lovely unique flavor that makes you want more. You gotta try it. My wife got the Rueben with hand cut fresh fries. Thick corned beef, thick swirled rye bread and just the right amounts of kraut and dressing. They really worked this Reuben out to perfection. Many are lathering in dressing and soggy but not this one. It was delish and my wife has a tough standard for Ruebens. This passes easily! I had the signature spaghetti and meatballs. Sauce homemade. Meatballs homemade. Now this was really interesting. When I tried it, I was like yeah, this is good but as I went along it just seemed to get better and better. Even though I had to take home half of it, I didn't want to! I wanted to finish every last bite right there but I just couldn't! So good. The meatballs were big and dense and the sauce was full flavor but not overpowering and not too sweet or bland. It was perfect. Each bite built upon the last. On the last visit we tried their pizza with pep and mushroom for carry out with the original crust. It was great. Just what I expect a good pizza to be. It is such a risk ordering a pizza when in unfamiliar places but this gamble paid off. You won't be disappointed. But that brings me a to another great feature of this place. When you order carry out, they have an attached beer and wine drive through where you can drive in, pick up your pizza along with any other beer wine drive through item you may need. I really cannot say enough good things about this place and I really can't wait to return. Really really. I would give it six stars if I could. read more

I was in town for business and always try to avoid national chain restaurants. I noticed the parking lot was full when I drove by at 630 on a Monday night so decided to give it a try. I chose wisely. Caiden, my server, was one of the best I've EVER had anywhere in my many decades of adulthood & travel. He was super friendly, attentive & polite. And the BBQ shrimp tacos he recommended were phenomenal. Topped it off with a "Grasshopper"(?) IPA from a Toledo brewery (I prefer hoppy, not fruity). The place was clean and service was quick, too. Our first visit to Lima. Got a pizza and beer. The pizza was great! Piping hot and perfect crust. A flight of beer had 6 generous samples - that's more than most other places I've been to. We sat at the bar so the service from the bartender was good, but there was only one person back there so she was hustling the whole time. She was friendly and efficient. One negative would be that we had a hard time finding a barstool that didn't wobble. Not sure if the problem was the floor or the stools but that should be fixed. Wonderful vibe, almost like a Texas Roadhouse in terms of decor and style, but more relaxed. The Beer Barrel Bacon BBQ burger was delicious, and the Buckeye Blitz was divine! Very good service. April was absolutely amazing and very attentive. We were there on a Sunday and they had plenty of TV's to watch football. Plenty of beer options. Plenty of bar seats, which we preferred. Also a place where you can bring your family, as there is ample table seating throughout. For food, we just had appetizers, and they were good. Only 4 stars, because they did run out of Mich Ultra and Bud Light on draft, without back up kegs available. Lady's first choices, but she chose an alternative option, which work out ok. We haven't been to Beer Barrel in at least 10 years. The place was packed and we weren't in a hurry, thank goodness. We were seated in 28 minutes, but it took over an hour to orde, receive our meal and pay. The waitress apologized and said the kitchen was very behind. My husband received a Diet Coke, not regular and my drink from the bar came out 20 minutes before his. Looking for a place in Lima to watch the ND game with my dog. Finally found this outdoor patio (no TVs), and grabbed a table. Two servers came out to attend to the only two tables out there, that were both finishing up. After each, a buser came out and cleared up after them both.
