Was in Guelph for a business meeting and came across Beertown on a search for a lunch place. The restaurant is quite big, designed well and was quite busy for a Wednesday afternoon which led me to believe that I had made the right choice! We were greeted by a smiling hostess and quickly led to our table. The menu is concise with just the right mix of dishes agreeable to most people. Both of us somehow decided on fish dishes - Fish tacos as well as fish & chips ! The tacos were delicious and fish cooked perfectly. The fish and chips were also quite flavourful even though the fish was a bit softly fried rather than my preference for crisply !!! Yet the flavours were there and the house tartar sauce was great . Amazing that a place like this caters to vegans and not just one or two items on the Menu that can be adjusted to make it vegan, a special menu is vegan - apps, mains and desserts! Vegan Guacamole and Chips - the guacamole tasted factory made and not house made and too smooth and bit more tangy for our taste. Chips are good. Vegan Hot Chik'n Sandwich - amazing burger, loved the thickness of it and freshly fried. The coating was super crunchy perfectly golden brown. The fries fresh and perfectly crisp outside and soft inside. Wish there was more of it. Vegan Mongolian Fried Chik'n Sandwich - well, both burgers really. The same Chik'n patty, really great but with different toppings. A bit sweeter for our taste. The Chik'n patty was the star. Vegan Faux Tacos as a meal with three tacos, comes with fries. Again same patty cut into individual strips and fried, perhaps making look like fish, but not. The strips tasted amazing in a taco as well. The pico de gallo OK. The bottled Ginger Beer OK and virgin Raspberry Lemonade good. The waitress was kind to bring out a complimentary mini Vegan Beertown Brownie - amazing - must have it on the next visit. While the food is only okay, the real star of the show here is an extensive beer list, well-organized so you can find a pint that appeals to your palate. Typical chain restaurant service and casual vibe. Decent kids menu that satisfied the kids and let us enjoy another beer or two. read more

I came here on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't that busy. We were a group of 8 though so my friend reserved seating in advanced but there were a good amount of seats available. The menu is digital through a QR code and the prices were pretty affordable for the big portions. I got the sangria and it was huge but mainly juice - I'm a lightweight and only felt maybe a small buzz from the entire drink. The food was delicious. I got the chicken and waffles and the chicken was crisy and juicy. I would have preferred a little less syrup on the waffles as it was heavily sweet, but it was still good. My friends all recommended their potatoes/home fries as a side. The staff were super friendly and upbeat. The washrooms had shower head faucets which were kind of weird when you use it but at least the gentle pressure felt nice on the hands. So typically when I go to a chain restaurant I'm not usually expecting to be wowed... There are a lot of delicious chain restaurants but this one is definitely in the top-tier! A friend of mine recommended it as we were down in Guelph doing back to school shopping for the kids and I'm very glad that he did! It was a very busy place yet we did not wait in the line to be seated and our server was very friendly and very prompt with our service. A massive selection of craft beers to choose from I felt obligated to try a couple flights, the first flight I was very well aware of the companies and the beers I was drinking but the second flight took me by surprise with some delicious IPAs that reminded me of my love for the style of beer... At a place called Beertown you would think that's where the excitement would end but you would be absolutely wrong as the food was incredible! The appetizers arrived only about five minutes from us ordering them and after sampling what came out I got very excited about the entrées which were just as amazing! I've been a fan of Beertown since they opened their first location - and the one in Guelph does not disappoint! There's always a good vibe - whether it's packed or just a few tables. From the tasty food to the excellent selection of beers, there is something for everyone. My dad and I got the guacamole and chips to start, fairly tasty once you mix it all together. My dad got the tiny tuna tacos as his meal - they looked quite flavourful. I enjoyed the Salmon Immunity Bowl, and took home a little over half! The big salads and bowls are VERY big. We just moved to Guelph and this has been one of our favorite new discoveries. I absolutely love Beertown! They're very allergy-friendly and have a ton of options for a variety of restrictions (soy-free, gluten-free, plant-based, etc.) Every meal I've had has been delicious and unique. I was shocked to find gluten-free chicken wings, and I also really like the lettuce wraps and the poke bowl. I couldn't decide on a cider so the waitress provided recommendations and samples. Such a cute place with great food! I love the patio here and they have great service. I got the chicken lettuce wraps and they were so good! I also went for my birthday and they were nice enough to give me a free dessert my only complaint is that their beer dog (there version of a bull dog) was far too sour. But I will definitely be going back to try more of their drink menu! read more

Food was EXTREMELY dry. Atmosphere was cute. Service was decent. Food had no flavour either. Stale fries. Don't get the steak it's like cardboard. Brisket was trash! Order the flatbread though if you go, it was great! I don't recommend the chicken sandwich either. The fish is moist though! read more
