Since the place has opened the food and service has been consistent and in these days that's all you can ask from a restaurant! Beertown is easily one of my fave spots for a wide selection of beers to choose from and a food menu which has a variety to choose from. I have been to Oakville and Burlington location but both are equally on par with food, drinks and overall service. During this visit, I ordered a pint of Steigl and Caesar Salad (added steak). Our server was attentive throughout the time we were there except when things got a bit more busy and took a bit longer to get our drinks. Food was delicious and steak was cooked to medium instead of medium rare but forgiven as it's flavours were I have on previous occasions tried their burger, tacos and fish & chips. All are items that I would recommend as well. Overall, since it's summer I opted to dine on the patio but usually prefer to dine indoors. My fave spot is by the bar and it's all around just good vibes. Definitely a restaurant I would recommend! read more

Great place for beer. They have so many options, the menu folds up like a map! The couple I tried were all tasty. The food being ordered looked like pub grub which goes really well with beer. The environment was nice and the waiters were very friendly. However the food was quite average. I ordered the tuna poke and there was a lack of sauce/seasoning relative to other ingredients. It did not have much flavour relative to other pokes I have had in the past. The base was also a rice noodle base, and the noodles were slightly undercooked resulting in a very stiff texture. We recently went to Beertown for the first time and we were not disappointed. The food (poutine, burger, fries and salmon bowl) were good portion sizes, tasty and of quality/fresh ingredients. The atmosphere or ambiance were casual, hip and relaxing. Service was excellent. The only negative for me was their stout on tap was contrary to what the waiter told me flavoured (coffee and chocolate), bleh. We will return. I won't order the stout. read more

Short review: Seating is not very "socially distanced" for a party of 4+. Food/drinks, GOOD! This was my second time dining out and the seating arrangement here, didn't feel as safe as another establishment that I went to. Reservations were made a coupla weeks prior. And specifics were mentioned as to # in the party, where our table would be, etc. When we arrived, table provided was nothing as per phone conversation. I realise that restaurants have to make some concessions due to the pandemic. So Beertown has less tables now to accommodate spacing in between groups. The tables are kind of small, square tables meant for a group of 4. Certainly not big enough to handle flights, apps, mains, etc....for 5 people. So if you're in a group of 5, you'll be at a table meant for 4. Ok, I guess if you're with family. We were told that the picnic tables were reserved for a larger group, but it was left empty after a group of FOUR (4) left. So I thought that that was just b.s. excuse because restaurant didn't want to accommodate. I love my friends, but I was able to reach out and pat both of them on the shoulder. Definitely less than 1 metre apart, that's for sure! Again, no complaints about the food/drinks or service AFTER the seating debacle. My issue is more about not being seated at a table as per earlier discussion when reservations were made, the attitude that was display when we wanted to move to another table, and the small tables that the restaurant has to work with if you just happen to be in an unfortunate group of 5. read more

It was an impromptu night out with the family. We decided to go here because it was highly rated. I'm sure there are reasons for it, but we didn't really experience a 4-star worthy night. The hostess was kind to hold a table for us since we were only five minutes away and we were greeted upon arrival. I would say that's one of the few positive things about our night. Our server didn't have much of a personality and when asked about food and drinks, she really didn't give us much. For example, my husband asked for a recommendation, asking for something similar to a Creemore and instead of asking another server or even the bartender, she simply said "I've never had Creemore before, so I don't know." Um, ok. Then, come ordering, my husband asked about the mac & cheese from the children's menu for our child and she responded with "I'm lactose intolerant, so I don't know." Again, rather than asking a colleague, she decided to simply not know. Other than dropping off our drinks while taking our order at the same time, dropping off our food while asking how it is and then giving us our bill, we barely saw our server. Looking around the restaurant, it seemed the rest of the staff were more personable with their tables. Anyway, the lack of service didn't end there. When we settled the bill and was all packed and ready to go, it was only then did the server offer to pack up our leftover food. So about the food.... The husband had the fish tacos and he was pleased with them, except had feedback about one of the three: he was surprised that instead of having all the components spread evenly in the shell, there was one large chunk of avocado on one end with everything else on the other. We both had the truffle fries which was a pretty generous serving and I'm glad, they were delicious, though they could have been warmer - it seems they had sat out waiting for a runner. The calamari with banana peppers and pickles was more like banana peppers and pickles WITH calamari. The serving of calamari was disappointing, like they were at the bottom of the bag and cooked whatever was left. I found the children's mac & cheese to be a good serving but very tangy. I was expecting something a little creamier in flavor, but maybe it was the type of cheese they used?? Anyway, we scraped off a lot of the cheese sauce, since it wasn't appetizing to us and it seemed the same for our kid. Anyway, we had high hopes because of the high ratings + how busy it was, but was disappointed. Would I go here again? Yes, my hope was it was an off night and that our next visit will be better. Would I recommend this place? Yes, I think they've got a great atmosphere catering to all: families, after work drinks with colleagues and pub night with friends. Beautiful patio with tons of seating. Menu is decent, with typical pub food, nothing crazy. The beer menu is huge! It's a little bit overwhelming however the waitress was kind to make suggestions for us. My only complaint was that it seems like there are many servers taking care of your table. So one will introduce them self and take your drinks down, then another will come for food orders. Very strange and confusing. Wasn't a fan of this method because at times they forgot to check on us when we needed something. For example we ordered a salad, and there were no forks at the table or napkins. My first visit yesterday and I was blown away. Oakville needs more places like this! The concept and decor I have seen in a few places but BeerTown have nailed that...especially the 41 beer paddle for large parties...what a spectacle! The staff were exceptional for an opening night as was the atmosphere this created. I was particularly impressed that as a main stream chain they have already adopted Vegan and Gluten-Free options to cater for all their patrons. Definitely something I am seeing in Toronto but good to see it becoming more widespread. With a patio area coming in 2 weeks...5 and a half stars from me as this sets a new standard. read more

The DIY chicken tacos were just ok and overpriced. The chicken wings were soggy, overpriced and tiny. The super salad was ok, although the chicken wasn't all that tasty. We came to try what was "raved" about. There were 4 people in our party - we came on a Sunday for brunch. The hostess and our server was nice, the place was clean and inviting. Drinks were superb. However, the food service was over rated -- We waited for a while to get it. Seeing people who came later than us get served promptly makes me wonder that somehow, something was amiss. The biggest faux- pas was when our server came over to say "food will be served soon- we just want to make everything perfect." Well, food came shortly thereafter only to be disappointed with their barbecued brisket hash. It was missing the brisket. We alerted our server - she apologized - came back after 10 minutes with another plate. In the meantime, manager came over since he observed that our table was missing one food plate. He apologized and I ended up getting my food order on the house. I give commendations to the manager for stepping up and rectifying the situation. They're fairly new in Oakville and I know that they're probably still tweaking some of their services but, in my opinion, they have a lot of "growing" to do. read more
