As the BF explained it: tasty bites and tasty beer. Tons of beer choices. There were five IPA's to choose from. We tried four and then settled on the hazed and confused and the bone tree from 3 moons brewing. They have inside and outside and even though I thought it was a bit nippy, the patio was full. The bartender was super friendly and accommodating. We tried the bacon avocado flatbread. It was really good. Came with huge chunks of avocado on top of the flatbread. If you're driving from the Toronto airport, make a detour and hit this spot up! There is a beer for every taste there. read more

Didn't try the food tonight but saw plates of nachos and other food from other tables , definitely looks delicious. We came to try some of their craft beers Service was fast and good. Arrived just after 8:15 and there was no line up. A typical bar restaurant similar to SJ or JA They even have a photo booth in here. i don't see a stage here for live music though. I had high expectations on their beef brisket platter as that seemed like their signature item on the menu but I was hugely disappointed by how dry and tasteless the meat is. The sauce doesn't match with the meat either. The fish tacos are decent. The fish is very crispy on the outside and the meat is moist with no fishy smell. The taco is a bit cold though. FYI, I recently visited this location with my dad and a couple friends I was so excited as I had such a wonderful experience in Waterloo. ( to which this restaurant told me Waterloo lied about dedicated fryer) I arrived ready to order some fried food but was shut down when they said we do not have a gf dedicated fryer. I said oh ok that sucks. Are your nachos fried waitress responded yes. So I said nothing on this menu is gluten free. She said no it's gluten friendly ( which doesn't help someone with celiac so who is your target audience I asked) she explained she has never seen anyone keel over from eating gf food in a non dedicated fryer. Clearly she doesn't understand. Moving on I decide to order the gluten free Caesar salad with chicken. I asked about the croutons she said they are gf but they are cooked in the fryer as well...... Ok one more attempt at this order the kale salad with chicken very reluctantly but to my satisfaction it was fantastic I loved it. As I got to the last ten bites I found a large piece of plastic in my salad. It stopped me in my tracks how does this happen. Can u imagine I had actually ate it and. Or seen it I could have choked for goodness sake. This was not a simple hair in the food. I called the waitress over she immediately said she is not gonna deal with it she will get manager. He came took my food away said wow not a nice way to get to the end of your meal, to which I was not done. He did not offer to replace my unfinished salad, didn't offer me another option dessert. Nothing. Just came back and said he talked to the kitchen shook them a bit and then said accidents happen but we will remove salad from your bill. Beertown public house is my favourite franchise for pub food, however, i was a little disappointed at this location. However, we did get a good server as well as a filling meal so I decided to give it a 4 star as i was debating between a 3 or a 4 star. Ambiance and environment: We were seated quickly during dinner due to the extended seating that opened up which is great because it's such a huge restaurant and it's great to see it be more opened up. The COVID contact tracing is done online which is great, quick and easy. We got a nice couch area in which the traffic doesn't seem to hectic so I'm glad. The waitress was super nice and professional. Guac and chips: Honestly, i don't really recommend the guac and chips. For 12 dollar, it's basically tortilla and some avocado, nothing too special in my opinion. It is compatible to chipotle guac and chips and you'd get more at chipotle in terms of chips AND guac. However, it did taste decent, just not worth the price. Salad: I love their blueberry and kale salads. The goat cheese really tops it off and the chicken was cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend the salad from here. Chicken burger: I was kind of disappointed with the chicken burger. I've been to the London location and thought the chicken burger was thick, juicy and amazing. This was extremely lacking in comparison as the patty was more batter than chicken and the chicken is pretty thin. The fries were good, however the ketchup did have a weird soapy taste to it, I'm not sure if it's actually ketchup or if it's some kind of BBQ ketchup sauce. Weird aftertaste. Cheesecake: The cheesecake is really good if you like your desserts SWEET. It's definitely cheesy as the cream cheese flavour really stood out. The base was a cookie base like an Oreo cookie base i believe. It's pretty good, definitely filling. Would recommend if you enjoy super sweet desserts. However, I'm not a big fan just because it was too sweet for me. My boyfriend really enjoyed it though. Overall: Overall, i had an OK experience, however i do understand because the capacity did go up so suddenly that they might be short staffed. I would go again but maybe not this particular location. Had a experience tonight after work, just wanted to have a drink with some coworkers and unwind and was met with a waitress who refused to serve us alcohol because our IDs were from California, when questioned to as of why our IDs weren't being accepted we were met with hostility and told we can be served across the street; mind you the business across the street is a McDonald's which just feels like a back handed comment from her end after simply asking why we couldn't be served, our server's name was Jessica by the way. read more

Highly recommend if you're looking for an upbeat vibe. They were really busy when I was there for a late lunch on a Saturday but still managed super friendly and attentive service. We were watching food being delivered to nearby tables and everything looked fantastic! My coworkers took me out to Beertown while I was in town for work. This place exceeded my expectations for quality of food. I ordered the salmon bowl and boy was it TASTY. The salmon was cooked just right and the flavors worked well with the vegetables. One of my coworkers ordered a burger with a lettuce bun and we were impressed that Beertown didn't just give her leaves of lettuce. They gave her wedges of ice berg lettuce in the shape of the bun. They were quite accommodating of the substitutions and dietary restrictions among the group which is awesome. I highly recommend Beertown for a group gatherings. They were simply amazing. read more

Beertown is located on the westside of Appleby line between Dundas and Upper Middle beside the McDonald's. This footprint is a familiar footprint. In what used to be the old Williams café is now a new, vibrant, revitalized footprint where beer lives and a friendly atmosphere for food and drink exists. Just newly opened about a week ago, Beertown boasts a wide variety of beer choices to select from as their specialty and you would hope or expect that to be the case since it's in their name (beer). There's a separate drinks menu which is tabbed in such a way as to be able to get to the section you want to get to right away. While there are a variety of beers there's also a variety of other drinks as well including such things as a root beer float (non-alcoholic) perhaps for the kids? Either way it's an interesting thing to have. As far as the food menu goes there's a choice of entrees, starters, sandwiches/burgers and things such as what would be considered common pub restaurant type food. Most of not all entrees/mains are in the 15-20 dollar range. What I found interesting was their choices of burgers including such things as brisket or pork belly burgers. While my colleague went ahead with the brisket, I decided to go with the pork belly as a change. My favorite more traditional baos are pretty much pork belly so I liked the fact that they had that option since it's not something I see commonly offered as a burger topping. The burgers come on an aluminum tray and the fries are served in an aluminum cup so it sort of feels a bit "hospital/OR-ish" and the tray seems rather stark but regardless of the presentation, I ended up dumping the fries to be able to dress them all with salt and pepper. The ketchup that's included seems home-made or at the least not Heinz or some pre-made type of common bottled ketchup. That was a nice touch. The burger was not a pre-formed frozen type patty but looked rather freshly made and it tasted that way too. The pork belly was thick and fatty (as it should be) and overall the burger tasted great. Take into the account the bun was also a fresh "non-wonder" tasting sesame seed bun and it even added to how well the burger was constructed and put together. I normally have a category for burgers that are over 16 bucks but in today's day and age with inflation and all I'd think that my baseline for such a thing is perhaps as outdated as the sunshine list for public workers. The pork belly was good, probably great even. For the price I'm not going to compare it to the other establishments which charge around the same. The menu at Beertown is a good although somewhat expected selection with a few twists in there to keep things a little different. The accompanying fries that come with the sandwiches and burgers are in fact also good. The service at Beertown that we experienced was very positive as our server took the time to explain all the specials including the guest/rotating choices as well as all the staff interactions whether the floor manager, hosts, etc all seemed happy to serve and make the place feel more friendly overall. I like Beertown and I would like to return. Instead of going during lunch and having remorse that we have to go back to work it's probably the type of place we'd like to go to after work knowing we don't have to leave in under an hour. read more

A solid "get together" spot with a large selection of craft beers both static and rotating. Nice decor inside and on the patio. Good food. Service is spotty and needs much better time management and attention to detail. Hiddem gems on the menu include the soft pretzels and veggie burger. Lastly, watch out for the gnarly bathroom which gives you a mini-panic attack with a large communal sink in the entrance; it's all good, just keep going and you'll see the men/women fork off after that. Another Friday lunch and another great find. This time Ryan selected Beertown on Appleby Line and it was very impressive. The place itself looks great. Lots of TVs and a large bar and a ton of seating for the space. There is a large bar with all kinds of taps to serve you their rotation of micro-brews that are listed on large chalkboards around the place. The service was great! We were greeted at the door and quickly seated and introduced to our server who explained the different beers they have available including a fusion beer and their rotation of local brews. Thought lunch the staff was helpful, knowledgeable and attentive and I couldn't ask for more. The kitchen was on its game as well. The food came out very fast so we had plenty of time to sit and enjoy our lunch. As for the food and drink itself it was great. I had the Beertown Big Burger with fries and it was just what I was looking for. 2 fresh made burgers with bacon and cheese on a sesame seed bun. Everything was made fresh and tasted amazing. For drinks they have any type of beer you could ask for and it is all cold and fresh. Beer town is ahead of the game with its vegan menu. They have an entirely separate menu dedicated to vegans (THANK YOU) that doesn't disappoint. It isn't just some rinky-dink, thoughtless menu, it's legitimately considerate of the vegan palate. It offers so many options, that you'll actually have a hard time deciding. I went with the vegan fish tacos and the Cesar salad and it was awesome. The portion size was generous. I have not hesitated recommending others to go there. It is my first choice when making plans with friends (vegan and non-vegan) because there's something for everyone. The atmosphere is casual and modern. This is my favorite restaurant for great tasting Vegan Food. I just love the look of Beertown. It has a beer brewing station on display, called the Beer Show. They have one of those old-style photo booths that you can get your picture in. The dining area has a mix of different style chairs and tables. There are also booths. It's quite in the day time. When it's busy on the weekend at night time its much louder because so many people are talking. The music is good and played at a good level (not too loud). They have a separate vegan and gluten-free menu with many items to choose from.... burgers, vegan chicken dishes, rice bowls, wraps, Pad Thai and more! They have also added vegan breakfast items to their menu. My girlfriend had Guac & Chips and the Pad Thai. She said they were both good. I always order the Yucatan Bowl. It comes with smoked chili-rubbed meatless chick'n (I order the sesame tofu as a substitute since almost all faux meats contain gluten which I can't have), dirty black bean rice, tomato, pickled onions, corn chips, cilantro, grilled avocado cider vinaigrette. I ask to have chipotle mayo instead of the cider vinaigrette and extra cilantro. One thing that blows me away is that I love their grilled avocado. I normally hate avocado. Not Good! Was there on Monday 11/08/2021. Nachos with ex-cheese was missing the ex-cheese (did not complain just to be clear). The burger that I order was black hockey puck. I have never ever said this in 30 years but this is JUST terrible! I complained and it was on the house. Sever was awesome including the manger but if Beer-town wants to be more than beer 7 days a week they really need to improve on their food as it has gone downhill since opening. The newest trend are these "Public Houses"...great social gathering restaurants with big tables open sightlines and lots of cool and unusual fare (food and beverage). In Burlington, I only know of 1 place that specialize in this and its tucked away near an industrial district. Beertown Public House is a chain of establishments that really brings an awesome upscale but casual "bar/pub" experience. This is a place that you would meet up with your friends and watch a game or bring a date and grab a drink. I happened to visit on opening day and the place is totally my kind of gathering place. Open sightlines...no walls..tons of televisions, trendy wood, neon, a rotating beer tap (10 beers change on a frequent basis), large wraparound bar, super friendly staff. The menu has just enough and not too much to make it not fit with the concept. I tried the BT poutine (braised beef, cheese curds, fries, gravy and a truffle aioli). Excellent portion size and by far one of the best tasting "meaty" poutines I have had. I also tried the "infused" beer with ginger and lime. It is a tap on the bar that can be infused with different flavors. The pour on the infuser was Redline IPA, a bit hoppy for my taste, but good. Beertown Public House also has a pretty big patio and it looks like its going to be awesome for next summer. Let me tell you something. I have been here 3 times now in the last month WITH my wife and YOUNG children and it has become our go to place for feel good comfort food. Love the vibe and service is top notch. High chair? You got it. Booster? You got it. Things to keep kids busy? You got it. Food always arrives fast and servers are quick to get you anything, despite how busy this place is (which it seemingly always is). We've been for lunch and dinner, definitely recommend that if you come for dinner (without a reservation), you want to show up by 5:15 latest as it fills up quick and you don't want to be waiting in line on these cold, cold nights. The kids meals are around $8.99 and there are a lot of standard options for them (e.g. fish 'n' chips, chicken fingers, mac 'n' cheese, etc.) For the bigger kids like mom and dad, you will LOVE the brisket burger (with fries -- love love love the malt ketchup that comes with these, or with the blueberry kale salad if you're feeling healthy, OR did you know that you could even sub for poutine?) You will also love getting the proper poutine which is totally worth it because the gravy is to die for and it is actually served hot enough that the cheese curds have had a chance to melt! Other faves are the tuna bowl (I like the power bowl too at the Waterloo location), but I would say the tuna bowl is more enjoyable. Wifey enjoyed the turkey burger and kept stealing my son's sweet potato fries. Our server noticed one of the fish from the fish 'n' chips in my son's meal was a tad dark and promptly brought another huge, adult-sized piece of fish for us on the house (with cole slaw), even though we said we didn't mind! Part of the reason this place works for us is due to the loud atmosphere (televisions are unavoidable and music is nice and loud). For those with young kids, you will know that this helps because you can worry less about your kids being loud (Swiss Chalet also accomplishes this, but I'd rather eat at Beertown!) Bathrooms are interesting in that you share sinks with the opposite gender but the shower heads with the taps/faucets are a nice touch. Can you tell that I love Beertown? Love love love. Yum. Almost forgot to talk about the paddles... we usually get the sweet 'n' wheat paddle which has some fruity beers and ciders, much more fun for us so we can try lots of different beers and not feel like we are stuck drinking the same old thing for the whole meal. Beertown Public House Burlington opened not too long ago. There was huge lineups the first few weekend of its grand opening. I waited a bit until the crowd died down to come here. Everyday I drive by the restaurant it always crowded so I was very excited to come here. We finally was able to make the trip. Got there had no reservations but was able to get a table right away. Inside is nice with lots of TV in the surrounding bar area. We got a table in front of the set of TV's with the Raptors game playing. Perfecting setting. Our server was friendly enough. That's when it all went downhill. We shared the calamari as an appetizer and I ordered the Mongolian chicken burger with the kale and blueberry salad $2 extra charge for the salad and my boyfriend ordered the beef brisket burger with sweet potato fries with an $2 extra charged for this change since it comes with fries originally. My boyfriend ordered a IPA beer and that was fine and I ordered a ginger ale. I asked for a straw and it didn't come until I was done my drink. Our server was so busy she never asked me if I wanted another drink even when my glass was empty. Our calamari came first. The portion was tiny and there was more other items than calamari like fried pickles and fried red peppers. For $13.50 it's not worth the money. The calamari tasted very chewy and greasy also extremely salty. Calamari is our favourite appetizer so we would get it every time at all different restaurants. This was by far the worst calamari we've ever had. How can you possibly go wrong with calamari? Moving in to our entrees. My fried Mongolian chicken burger was slathered with so much sauce I can hardly see the chicken. The reason I could hardly see my chicken was because there was barely any chicken all I tasted was the bun. The salad was slathered with so much dressing it made the kale was all wilted. My boyfriend's beef brisket burger was not any better. There was hardly any bbq sauce and it was so dry. When he asked for more bbq sauce the waitress took forever so he ended up eating it all then she came with the sauce and he was done but she never apologize if anything she looked annoyed that we asked her to go get it for us. Also for the extra $2 charge you would think they would give you decent amount of the sweet potato fries. But nope the portion was small. Overall horrible service. There was a few servers standing by the front desk doing nothing and there was plenty servers in the restaurant I don't know why the service was so bad. Food was also terrible. I'm so disappointed. This restaurant is literally 2 minutes from where I live I would have loved for this to be my new hangout place for raptors game night. Oh well I guess I'm glad I tried it and wrote this review. Our bill came to $80 before tips which is quite high for a pub. There's plenty of restaurants like this in Burlington with way better service and food. Cool addition to local eats. Some pros and cons. Cons: First time here on a Thursday and there was a 30minute wait. That's ok in itself but there were a lot of empty tables, (or one person in a booth) that were being held for reservations. If there are paying customers at the door waiting to be seated it seems like perhaps they need to review reservation policies. Pros: Decor is cool, similar to other beer houses, and atmosphere is lively. There were families too, which is good as local spots like this should be fam-jam friendly too. Beer list is pretty big, lots of local selections and some far away too. They also have a selection of cocktails and non beer adult beverages for those that don't drink beer (gasp!) Food selection spans enough tastes to suit most. I had the brisket burger which was very good. This is comparing to brisket offerings in NY or the good ol'south. My friend had a steak which was cooked exactly to order. Nice. Our server was very attentive and took time to explain how things worked to us nubes. This place is LOUD, visited on a Sunday for dinner and was unpleasantly surprised to find it near impossible to have a conversation without being inches from the other persons ear or having to repeat myself several times (including the word "what?"). The menu sounds more interesting then the food really was, the food wasn't bad but it wasn't anything to write home about. Portion sizes are good though. Beer is obviously the star of the show and they have a great selection and a neat system that rotates new variety in often. On a good note our main server was incredible - friendly, attentive and amazing knowledge of beer offerings. He recommended some new beers we'd never tried after asking a few questions and they were indeed excellent choices. The assisting wait staff that brought our food was far less stellar - standing and waiting for us to rearrange the table for them, reaching over the table repeatedly with no apologies and thrusting a hot bowl into my hand. Seems the supporting wait staff could use some additional training. Overall I would have rated this 2 star but our incredible main server and the amazing beer selection resulted in the extra star. I would probably return for drinks and appetizers if I heard there was a time it was quieter but otherwise likely will not return as I generally go out with friends to actually communicate and based on my experience so far that is not the atmosphere for that. read more

Our group of 4 came here at 730 last night. This place is nothing to rave about, unfortunately.. there's just not anything special about this place. You get the same generic pub food as jack Astors or milestones except priced way higher. I paid 17 bucks for a " large" Ceaser salad and chicken (3 tiny pieces of chicken) - I even had to send it back.... twice! It could have went back a third time but I fear spit in my food lol Once because I asked for no bacon; i can't process pork- it's a dietary restriction ( take that fucking shit seriously, if someone requests a meal without an item- this is for a reason. I would have puked all over your restaurant if I ate that) it came back with half the bowl of food missing. Your chef clearly just took off the top part of my food and gave it back to me. I sent it back because there was no dressing on it. It came back with a glob of dressing in the middle I said fuck it and just didn't eat: told my waitress and was charged for garbage in a bowl anyway.... how do you screw up a Ceaser salad? If your chef can't make a simple salad, you will go out of business. Hubby and friends had a burger- they said Harvey's is better Like I said, theres nothing even remotely special about this place: save your money and go elsewhere. Casual local dinner; 2 entrees...one steak blue cheese salad, steak cooked well salad way over dressed swimming in dressing, bit boring too. Just blue cheese and croutons and a piece of bacon. Second entree beef brisket nice chunk of meat, maple beans not cooked fries were bottom little pieces. Overall didn't come for the food or we ordered the wrong stuff on the menu. There is a lot of advertising on this place. Sounded interesting from the ads and website. Its new so the building is of course nice. The first time i went it was 1 hour 45 wait. Didnt wait went to another food place on foot and got a table asap. The second time it was ok but nothing speical. The person that served us didnt have any sense of humor not any great service. Got poutine and no ketchup. Also was never ask if i want any. She hardly came to our table. The tables are all metal and on an inkline for some reason. Decent tvs and ok for sports. Was there last night. It was very busy. Great vibe, staff was very pleasant with the bar staff doing a great job. We waited about 30 minutes for our table and then another 10 minutes once seated before we had to stop a server to acknowledge us Food was really good except for the southern Fried chicken. For what they charged cheaper out by using dark meat. Never man. Gotta use white meat. Changed the taste and it was chewy. Would I go back? Ya. Wonton nachos to die for!! read more
