Incredibly delightful spot--an excellent choice whether you are stopping in the storefront portion up front for provisions, an excellent coffee, or some of the best, wonderfully curated cheeses you can find, or if you are venturing to the back for a certainly delicious, most likely cheese-forward meal. I have eaten in here twice in quick succession. Stopped in for a quick meal before a nearby event and had a kale salad, which is simply sublime--the mix of savory (kale, farro, walnuts), a touch of sweet (dried cranberries) and the rich tang of manchego--and we're not talking a drizzle, we are talking honking large chunks of high end manchego dusting your salad like a snowstorm... one of the best things I've eaten in some time. I know what you might be thinking, just a salad? But an incredibly filling, satiating salad, and with the added frisson of feeling somewhat healthy... it was hard to avoid ordering on my next visit! But try other things I did upon dining here with my fiancée, to great success! For appetizers, we shared several plates, which were also quite enjoyable, with highlights being the Artichoke Crostini (featuring parmesan and Manchego) and the Butternut Squash Soup topped with roasted pepitas was delightful (actually featuring zero cheese!). The spring pear salad (arugula, goat cheese, zucchini, pear, pomegranate, walnuts) was quite solid--zucchini perhaps a tad overwhelming the other ingredients, but still enjoyable, and of course we had to try a cheese plate--as I indicated above, their cheese selection is amazing--I doubt you can go wrong, but their Manchego is truly amazing, and the Barely Buzzed--with ground espresso crust--are stunners. We had an excellent blue cheese as well. Drinks were fine--not my favorite part of the experience, but good enough. Wine was ok too--did have a "dry" white that I didn't feel met the description--but the beer list is quite interesting. They do offer good happy hour drink deals as well--though they didn't include some of the more adventurous cocktail options... perhaps I should come back later and try those. The back is charming--calling it a speakeasy or "hidden" cocktail bar is a bit of a stretch, but it is nicely portioned off from the store, and there is a cool outdoor area as well. Staff is super helpful, particularly in the restaurant portion. The provisions/cheese slicing up front can be a little slow moving but again, damn if that cheese isn't worth any kind of wait! read more

This place has quickly become my new favorite lunch and coffee spot. I recently started working in the area. I randomly walked in one day and ordered a chicken pesto panini sandwich. It comes with a mixed green salad and a house made dressing that is to die for. The service is also superb. They also make a really great latte. The restaurant has several menu options, indoor and outdoor dining, as well as board games to keep you entertained. They also sell cheeses by the ounce or pound and everything you need for your charcuterie, including the wine. I've been sleeping on Bee's Knees. Perhaps it's because the "Provisions" in the name made me think they were just a cheese/charcuterie shop. Perhaps it's because I miss Stinky BKLYN, and I didn't want to see what's taken its place. Perhaps it's simply that I'm just not going out as much as I used to. Regardless of my shortcomings, Bee's Knees is...well, the Bee's Knees. The shop itself is adorable and well-curated, but if you step back past, it's a thoughtfully appointed, very tasteful bar and restaurant. Of course there is an excellent winelist to accompany your meat and cheese plates, but there's also a full bar with quality cocktails as well. The tables are comfortable, with board games on offer, and a backyard to boot. The details obviously mattered to whoever built this place out, and that thoughtfulness extends to their food. I recently had a delicious panini for lunch, accompanied by a well-dressed salad and a nice pile of pickles. My bartender/server Sam was quite accommodating, and exactly as helpful as anyone could ask. I'll happily be back. read more

We were here earlier and we just wanted to provide our experience of today, may 21st. When we got there the place was fairly empty, there were at most three other customers in the dining area. At first everything was alright, the vibes were great, we ordered off the brunch menu and received our food fairly quick as well. The server though, seemed to have an issue with us, after receiving our food barely 20 minutes had passed and we were being rushed out, we hadnot finished our food. We told him we weren't done yet and proceeded to order a few drinks. A party of 6 came in soon after he asked if we wanted the bill, and the server shifted the focus to them. We were fine with that. The issue arises when the server continued to rush us out, despite not being done with our food. We ended up taking our food to go. We were the only colored group in the dining area and the only ones who were being rushed out. We felt uncomfortable with the way he approached us so we paid our bill, grabbed our stuff and left the premises. The server then proceeded to follow us outside, call us out on the street with others around and take a picture of us because we had not left a tip. Tipping is always at the customer's discretion, while the place was great, our servers actions did not grant us the need to tip for the way he treated us. This sealed our experience at this place as the server felt the need to retaliate and harass us over not leaving him a tip. read more

I walked in here on a Sunday morning and ordered a few items which I will review here. The grilled cheese and Gouda with scallions was the perfect brunch. I had a latte. The barista Paul is incredibly kind and recommended some special chocolate bar (cardamom and cacao flavored) which I quickly purchased. This feels like a neighborhood business that really takes pride in stocking local items and quality products. Definitely will be back! Came here for Mother's Day brunch and all I can say is WOW. I started off with a Mai tai that was phenomenal. They have some lovely non alcoholic options too. Our servers were AMAZING. They were attentive, friendly, and overall made the experience so enjoyable. Our table started out with the Swiss Raclette which was DIVINE. I had a tuna melt with salad that was delightful. Came here for a weekday brunch with a friend. The front has a small cafe that sells novelty items like truffle honey. The back has very cute seating and a bar, loved the furniture and decor. It was pretty empty when we got in and ordered, but the food took surprisingly long. My friend got the avocado toast, which she liked. I got the chilaquiles and they were not good. The chips seem to be baked with the sauce and cheese and were one large blog of absolute mush. I had really high hopes for them given they had pepper, jack cheese and avocado, but they were a huge disappointment. If I were to come back, I would definitely try something different. read more

I want to be fair and note that this review makes no mention of their food. I liked quite a bit of their menu offerings but only came here for their drinks after a dinner nearby. I would love to return to try some of their dishes but can't speak to it. For the drinks, I stuck to their happy hour / inflation buster rosé (Summer in a Bottle) and I enjoyed it. Great pour and at a good price. I also had a sample of their sparkling orange wine (Heidi Schrock Pet Nat) and loved that! As not a orange wine lover, it was a little too sour for my taste, but still delicious. I also was in love with how chilled my glass was and if I disliked the rosé, I had planned to move forward with the orange wine instead. My friends ordered the Yuzu Ginger Cider by Shacksbury Cider and now I want to buy a case of it for my house lol. Cider never wows me but this one was fantastic. Not too sweet but flavorful. Lastly, I appreciated the service there. The server was helpful and kind. She checked in on us multiple times while still giving us space to just chill there. I also enjoyed seeing people there who were reading books or playing card games with their family. This is a really cute cheese shop and a good place to wine down after a long day at work... or truly, a good end to any day! While the front half is a shop, the back half is a bar area which I did not even know existed until my friend showed me. It's a quiet space compared to your average bar so it's nice when you want to catch up with a friend in a calm setting. May be a good date night spot too if you do not want to be surrounded by many people. There's a happy hour that runs until 7pm I believe and the cheeseboards are delightful. I met my boyfriend at Bee's Knees Provisions on his way home from work on a Thursday night during restaurant week & it was exactly the ambiance we were looking for. We sat at the bar and the service was the perfect balance of tending to our needs, without hovering / being overbearing. We both started with the The Atom, Cabernet Sauvignon, which was a nice full bodied cab. For our appetizer, my boyfriend chose the Smoked Glacier Blue cheese & I chose the Brie Fermier. Both were delicious and we were impressed by the full board we each received. I chose the Tuna Melt Panini & my bf chose the Chicken Panini. We ended up splitting both so we could try each. We both preferred the tuna melt if we had to choose, but also really enjoyed the chicken panini, it was just a bit drier - which I think happens easily with good bread & pesto, & probably could easily be solved with a bit of aioli. I'm not a big dessert person, so I let my bf order for me as well & he chose the chocolate truffles & the salted caramel ice cream. He really enjoyed them both. While I didn't try the truffles, I did taste the ice cream and it was some of the best caramel ice cream I've had. Nice little cafe spot located in the lovely neighborhood of Cobble Hill. We drove there but it is quite easy to get there by train (F/G) just around the corner. I wouldn't have known passing by that there was a cool, almost hidden, dining area just past the barista front. It looks like a good place to stop by for a quick snack, as they have an assortment of cheeses and meats available to purchase in the front as well as honey and jam. We got the charcuterie board with two meats and two cheeses. I meant to order three cheeses but I don't think they heard me say the third cheese and we were already halfway through eating it before we noticed. We wanted to be healthy so also got the rainbow beet salad to share... not knowing that it was a huge salad. Tasted pretty good! Really enjoyed the board and the salad. Popped in for a quick bite. There was a long wait for the food after ordering despite there being no customers inside, due to the kitchen having two large to-go orders, so just be aware if you go, you may want to ask about the wait for food. The panini with grilled chicken and pesto was good and the salad it came with was dressed with a nice citrusy vinaigrette. My Dad also enjoyed The Gruyère in the grilled cheese. One of my favorite new places in the neighborhood! My partner and I have been here a few times, all on Friday nights because it's a nice, cozy spot to end the week with some wine. I continue to be impressed with each visit. First, the wine, including the wines on the happy hour (or "Inflation Buster") menu are delicious. The portions are great: the salads are bigger than you think they'd be, the cheese and charcuterie boards are SERIOUS, and I think think the paninis are decently filling, too (although, I've so far only had a panini after indulging in a cheese board). Their salad game is strong -- even the little salad that comes with the panini is crazy delicious (I really wanna know what's in that dressing!). These are my favorites so far: - Beet salad - Ewephoria cheese - Bamboozle cheese - Ciel du chevre cheese - Classic French ham panini Cute decor. Was so excited to try this place! Let's start with the good: the space is super cute, high ceilings, loved the decor. They also have an outdoor garden space. The drink selection was good, especially with their happy hour deals. I had a hard passion fruit coconut water that was super yummy. Also on Tuesday's they have $1 oysters, hard to beat that! Now the not so good: there was only one person running the whole place, meaning he was the host, waiter, bartender and buser. The poor guy was running around and there was just no way he was going to nail it all, so we totally forgave his missteps because everything was stacked against him. Also the food we ordered was just not very good, we left most of it on our plates. Besides the oysters, our food was super bland. The Cobb salad had super crisp veggies, so that's great, but the dressing tasted like absolutely nothing. There wasn't even salt on the table to dress it up and we weren't going to bother the stressed employee. I think we ordered the wrong things and should have stuck with wine and a charcuterie board! We really like this place. The food is good and reasonably priced. My kids like it a lot. The only down side they say, is there aren't fries. Also, we got the fondue, but it comes in a ramekin and not a fondue bowl, so it got hard fast and was a bit hard to eat with the bread and not cubes or crudités. If you pass, you may not see the restaurant in the back of the cafe, but it's a lovely space, with friendly staff, a nice clean restroom, coffee and pastry options, lots of great lunch salads too. We were super excited to try this place hoping it would be our new beer and cheese go to. The woman in the front shop was friendly but once we got into the restaurant section it just got weird. We were early for dinner so the only people and there were three waitstaff bartenders. All of the staff members ignored us. We had to ask to to order drinks. Ask to order appetizer. We I told the waiter I couldn't hear him over the music he shouted louder and when I asked if he could turn it down he said no. The bartender seemed to be practicing his DJ set and would play 30 seconds of a song then stop. No one ever asked how it was, no one asked if we wanted to order food. By the time we were half way through our drinks we had decided this was not the vibe for us. The space is great, the food looked looked. The service was nonexistent. To the point where we felt uncomfortable like we were intruding on a private hang out. It's really too bad. We went down the street to Ruthies and had an excellent dinner there instead. read more

I only came in for a mimosa but the vibe was just mad weird. At the bar, there were 3 bartenders, 2 of them talking about movies or plays the other was attentive doing their job. I walked up and said hi, the two movie critics looked at me and went back to conversing the other greeted me. The bartender that was trying to do their job tried to be personable because they could tell I was just uncomfortable. I should have just left before I sat down because the vibe was way off but I wanted to give this place a try. I literally just downed my mimosa and didn't even want another because I just wanted to leave. I've never felt so unwelcomed and the saddest part was that the two were African American like myself and they completely ignored me. There's a reason why it was empty in here because the customer service is absent (except for the other bartender was at least tried so kudos to you). Seeing that there are a number of bars in downtown BK area, I won't be back here and I'm someone who LOVES brunch and I wanted to give it a try for future reference but absolutely not! read more

While the food and service are generally very good I have celiac and when I asked to substitute gf crackers for the bread on the charcuterie board I was told that I would need to purchase the crackers from them first at an additional cost! Strange and tone deaf response given that they have the gf option in the store on premises! Opted not to pay the additional $6 for the crackers and likely wouldn't return and would advise other people with gluten intolerance or other allergies to avoid as well.
