Food: incredible! Two of us shared a Whole order of 11…read more SSAL Hot Soy fried chicken. It was served hot and fresh out of the fryer. It was mildly spicy and sweet. The breading was lightly crunchy. Absolutely perfect. The "whole" seemed like a whole chicken was cut into 12 pieces and fried. There were two of each part of the chicken. I was surprised that it came with two sides: a finely shredded cabbage with salad dressing that reminded me of a tame thousand island, and a small dish of pickled jicama. They complemented the chicken perfectly. Ambience and service: comfortable and friendly We went on a Monday night so it was almost empty. The server (and maybe owner?) brought us menus and water right away, was timely in taking our order, and attentive. The food was served fairly quick considering it was cooked to order, but naturally it took longer than a fast food place that has food waiting under heat lamps. There was music but it was quiet enough to be enjoyable during discussion. The lighting is nicely dimmed but bright enough to see everything clearly. The bathroom is easy to access and has hot water and good soap for washing the sticky deliciousness from your hands when you're done eating. The tables have bins of napkins and chop sticks so you don't have to wait for service to bring those. There was also a little bucket with a trash liner in it for chicken bones and trash. In summary, this was the best chicken I've ever eaten and I thoroughly enjoyed dining here. We will definitely be back here again. Next time we plan to ask for the chicken to be a little spicier.

Though I noticed the last time I went, the chicken wasn't as crispy as before. I'm hoping it was just a one-time fluke. Parking/Service/Ambiance: Lots of parking in the lot even on a Friday night. I appreciated that there's a call button on each table to prevent having to wave down a server. Food came out fairly quickly. Lots of indoor (only) tables and seats. There were several TVs that streamed sports games. It was nice to watch the Dodgers game while we were eating. There are 2 bathrooms and it was pretty clean. Food: -#9 Spicy Rice Cake with Ramen: great to share as appetizer. For me this wasn't too spicy and I love the flavor. -Corn Cheese: could comfortably share with 2-3 people -Ssal Hot and Spicy Chicken: half order came with 6 pieces. For someone who likes super spicy food, this wasn't very spicy to me. I love the sauciness and the flavor though as mentioned, I wish it was a tad bit crispier. -Ssal Honey Garlic Chicken: full order came with about 12. Overall: I'm hoping that the lack of crispiness of the chicken was a one time thing. Otherwise, I'll continue to come back to this restaurant!

We started with the shishito peppers and takoyaki, and the takoyaki was easily some of the best we've had. It came out piping hot, perfectly crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy inside. Since it was such a hot day, we ordered the Hiyashi Chuka (chilled ramen) and the Oroshi Soba Combo with grated radish and tempura. Both were super refreshing and exactly what we were craving. The Hiyashi Chuka had a great balance of flavors with fresh toppings, and the soba was light, chewy, and paired really well with the crispy tempura. The hot tea was a nice touch, and everyone working there was friendly and welcoming. We also loved how extensive the menu is. There are so many Japanese comfort food options that we'll definitely be back to try more. If you're looking for authentic Japanese food in the area, Gomen is absolutely worth a visit.

DRAFT ASAHI: 1/5. They don't clean their lines. The Asahi was sour, and read more like kombucha. SHISHITO PEPPERS: 5/5. Seasoned with only salt, the peppers are a shining example of the beauty of simplicity. RAMEN KAKUNI XD: 5/5. Incredibly savory broth with silk soft slices of pork. The $18 regular bowl would definitely be considered large anywhere else, and came with more toppings than I usually see. OROSHI SOBA: 4/5. Been on a soba kick lately because summer in California is gross and relentless. The flavor was 100% there, but the lukewarm temperature was not it. The menu did specify that this dish is COLD, and it was the entire reason I ordered it. TAKOYAKI: 4/5. Batter was on the thick side, but overall flavorful.

Since we both have today (Friday) off from work, we took the hour drive with our dogs for lunch. Fun Fact: Pastor Gene Pietrini married us back in 2007! My husband called ahead to place our order, one Margherita and one Margherita Especial. Our total came out to around $44. The restaurant is located by the Starbucks. They have plenty of outdoor tables and shade. Perfect to have our two girls with us. It's one of my dog's 15th birthday today too. The texture of the crust and taste of the tomato was amazing. Definitely worth the drive over here. Will definitely return whenever we get the opportunity.

Best pizza I have had in Southern California!…read more Location/Parking: ample amount of parking and easy to find the restaurant. In a safe area. Service: servers are very attentive and kind! Wait time on a weeknight was around 15 minutes. Vibes: chill and very family friendly. Casual pizza spot, but also great for date night. Food: The crust of their pizza is very airy and doesn't sit heavy in your stomach plus it just tastes great. I ate the Garlic Paradiso with sausage, which was rich in aromatic flavors from the rosemary and creamy. It does lean more on the salty side compared to their red sauce pizzas. The meatballs are so good and I highly recommend ordering some. They're flavorful, juicy, and the tomato sauce that they are in is delicious. The salads are good too, my favorite being the Caesar, although it is on the heavier side due to the dressing. Delicious food, great service, chill atmosphere, and good parking. Can't complain!
