My work colleagues and I were celebrating some of our team members birthdays. One of them does not eat egg so I was on an adventure in search for an eggless cake. I was so happy to have found Simply Eggless Bakery - Délicieux located in the heart of Artesia. Every cake, every dessert they make is eggless. They also have vegan cakes. I spoke to a pleasant and helpful lady over the phone to place my order. I asked for her recommendation on which flavor is best. She mentioned the Black Forest and Mango Mousse are their best sellers. I went with the former in 8 inch (medium). For those who aren't familiar with the Black Forest, it's a rich chocolate sponge cake soaked in sweet cherry syrup and layered with smooth vanilla mousse and luscious cherry mousse topped with decadent chocolate shavings and cherries. Price was $39.99 which is very reasonable. She sent me a link over the phone for payment. Made easy peezy! Thank you miss! I have never bought a whole Black Forest cake in the past and the first one I buy happens to be eggless. So cool! And this was my very first time eating an eggless cake. Even cooler! They are closed on Mondays so I had to pick up the cake on Sunday. It was perfect because I was coming home from Carlsbad so it was on my way. It turned out this bakery is inside the Pioneer Cash & Carry grocery store. I informed the nice young lady behind the counter that we would not be eating the cake until Tuesday. She suggested I place the cake in the freezer that Sunday night and take it out at 7:00 PMish on Monday night to have it defrost gradually in the frig before consumption on Tuesday afternoon. She said if the cake is placed in the frig the entire time, it may dry out. Of course I didn't want a dry cake so I followed her instructions to the T. Thank you so much miss! Cake was very moist and spongy. Filling was not too sweet... perfect complement to the cake. Not one ounce of dryness at least not in my slice. SO VERY YUMMY! I now want to try their mango mousse cake. I may just return to get them by the slice so I can try all the different flavors. It was my friend's birthday and she's vegan so I searched everywhere for a vegan cake. I ended up choosing this bakery and I was nervous; I have never eaten a vegan cake before as I am not vegan or vegetarian. The cake was delicious and a couple people who ate the cake didn't realize it was vegan! It was soft and fluffy and it wasn't overly sweet, just right. I was admittedly a bit late due to work but they were kind and understanding. I asked what they used in the cake to make it vegan (I just wanted to make sure) and they mentioned they used soy milk. amazing nostalgic vegan chocolate cake! i love shopping for spices and rice at pioneer. they carry my favorite flavor of chips and fresh roti. every time i step through the front door, i am always mesmerized by the bakery. i went on the week of my birthday and decided to try a slice of their vegan cake. it was delicious! not too sweet, moist, and overall a new favorite of mine. i was in love with the chocolate shell at the base of the cake. i highly recommend trying the bakery! parking is plentiful. the bakery is located right inside of the grocery store. the staff is friendly and helpful. the bakery counter is quick service and the environment is very clean and welcoming. i cannot wait to have another slice! i will happily recommend to my dairy-free & vegan friends and family. :) read more

Went to a party that had these desserts out. They looked amazing and tasted ok but after a short phone call found out it's a bit pricey. Which is understandable since they're eggless and sugar free. The customer service over the phone was terrible. The person sounded so tired of my questions, put me on hold, then hung up. When i called back to say I was hung up on, she got really defensive and straight up rude. The desserts didn't taste good enough to put up with that type of attitude. Tried two vegan cake slices and they were airy, moist and fluffy. This texture was impressive in that many other vegan cakes I've tried are dense and thick in consistency. The taste was rather light though, so it was missing depth, which I was craving. The location appears to be the bakery counter of Pioneer Cash & Carry but it is its own business inside the market. When I first arrived, there was no one at the counter. No greeting. Someone then came out of a side area and was busy with a task, still no acknowledgement. I then asked for assistance and clarification to which the woman was rude in her response, as if I was bothering her. I thought about leaving immediately because no one wants rudeness when unjustified. Luckily, a different woman came out of the side area, and she was super nice. Perhaps either a customer service training or perhaps there should be consideration to never let rude employees interact with customers. I'm sure she has a strength but she will push customers away. 4 stars for the cake texture and polite employee, 3 stars for the value, 1 star for the rude employee... overall 3 stars. read more

Delivered not exact but even better than what we requested. The inside was Belgian Chocolate and tasted simply amazing, much better than most eggless cakes we have had. Used very less fondant, the decoration appears to be made with butter cream that made it tastier than fondant. My 4 yo son has an egg allergy. So many foods make him sick so he's developed a very picky palate. I was searching for an eggless cake so we drove from OC to research the bakery (test the goods). We took home a slice of traditional buttercream cake and another slice of white chocolate with raspberry filling( I think). Both were super delicious and my son loved them both! His favorite was the buttercream. Both were super moist and flavorful. I'm hoping they can create a traditional birthday cake with a kids design .
