I had a bit of a sweet tooth while driving along Commonwealth when all of a sudden a hot pink storefront caught my attention, I stopped impulsively to see if the bakery can satisfy my craving. Let me tell you, the assortment of cupcakes they have are so vast, the worker is patient and kind as she lets me look at the different flavors! There were other desserts there too such as ice cream and other pastries that were beautifully displayed. They also do wedding cakes and if pattys was an option on your radar, guests will be so impressed by the quality and taste of the cake itself
It's always a pleasure. Patty's is my go to bakery for desserts and cupcakes. The place is clean and tidy quality is phenomenal. They have gluten-free and vegan options. I'm truly never disappointed. I usually order online because there are rewards you can earn, a create-account option, and two free cupcakes on your birthday. Cupcakes are made to frost delicious flavors. Worth the visit you won't leave empty handed. Con: the Service can be a bit more friendlier I always feel over hyped and the employees are the complete opposite. *Bag of cakes is chef kiss! Ask for the side of whipped topping.
I was looking for a spot that makes large cookie cakes in Fullerton and I found the spot! Patty's Cakes makes delicious cookie cakes that wasn't too sweet, lasts a few days, and is very fresh! The birthday decor was super cute as well. Staff were super friendly, nice, and genuinely wanted to see how you liked the design. I was honestly shocked at how good the cookie was since most people get cakes from here.
Patty's Cakes came highly recommended by our venue and we are so happy we went with them! We loved the sampling experience where we were able to get creative and ultimately decided on a lemon cake with Bavarian cream and blueberry filling. Delivery went flawlessly and was on time, and our wedding cake was just as we had imagined!
Cupcakes are wonderful! Service meh. I seriously was on a chocolate hunt. I LOVEEEEE their chocolate with chocolate fudge cupcake is the best fudgest chocolate for a cupcake. I really love their red velvet and chocolate caramel salty cupcakes. Honestly a lot of their flavors you can't go wrong. What can go wrong would be the service. I wish they were a bit friendlier. The several times I've been here it's been meh. I keep coming back cause their products are good tho.
We ordered our wedding cakes and mini cupcakes from Patty's cakes and had a great experience! Upon entering their shop for our tasting, we were impressed by not only their cakes, but their professionalism in guiding us with the best flavor combinations and the size of our cake for the guest count and our budget. We really enjoyed the tasting experience where we got to sample different cakes with fillings of our choice. We also loved how cute the S'mores mini cupcakes turned out! When we later decided we no longer wanted mini cookies that originally was on the contract, Patty's was understanding and removed the items from our invoice with no issues - truly a testament to how professional and easy to work with they are! Overall, the process was seamless and we would definitely recommend Patty's cakes to other couples!
I absolutely HATE having to write this, but bear with me. I have to give a disclaimer first: the staff, service and quality of even the most 99% of the ingredients is top notch. I've been buying cupcakes here for years and to say they are BEYOND fantastic is an understatement. They have the clientele they have and the trust of a communtiy for a reason and when it comes to their cupcakes, I will always be their #1 fan. Sadly, I cant say the same about their custom cakes. A few weeks ago, I had a cake made for a bday party I was attending and I ordered a simple vanilla cake with strawberry filling cake. The birthday girl requested her cake was white and pink. The piping was ok I guess. But thats really neither here nor there (I was expecting a more vintage looking piping, but I guess I should've asked for it) . My niece went with me to pick up this cake and she also agreed it was beautiful. When it was finally time to cut the cake, i was so excited for everybody to see it cause it was so pretty. We added a few decorative flowers cause my Niece had saved a cake topper, it looked so becautiful. But when the time came to cut it, the first thing I noticed was that the frosting color was an absolute mess to work with cause it literally stained EVERYTHING. From plates to napkins the pink colors they used were so hard to wash off. It stained my shirt, and the picture im attaching is from the next morning, after I had washed my hads many times. My finger was still stained. Nevertheless we cut the cake, kids ate it but even my Niece commented that the frosting tasted funny. And as soon as I tried it I agreed. The food color used to give the frosting this color made it taste absolutely artificial. I have bought cakes at the supermarket for a fraction of what I paid for this that have tasted way better and less artificial. Thats the issue. Nobody at home ate the frosting cause everybody agreed it tasted very strange. And look, Im not a baker. I have seen cakes being made, I kinda know what kind of food colorings they use at a pro level, but I didnt imagine it would ruin the taste so badly. Cause it absolutely did. The filling was great, the white frosting was ok, but the taste messed up my experience. And again, the quality is there, I would just strongly suggest they do a quality check on their finished products or collect feedback from their clients on this. I work in R&D so I know there is a lot of work put into developing a recipe. This in no way tarnishes my love for their cupcakes, which I will continue to promote, buy and support any time I can. I just know for next time not to order any cakes that could potentially have a food color in it.
I discovered Patty's Cakes and desserts while I was scrolling on IG! Oh boy, this place didn't disappoint on my trip to check out their cupcakes! Upon entering the store, a young man, Adonis, greeted me with a smile. I inquired about the different types of cupcakes and the best-selling ones. They also have cakes on display that I want to try in the near future. The location is very easy to find, they may have limited parking at the back of the store but it's located near residential areas so it's easy to find a parking spot in the street. The store is clean, organized, bright, and at the perfect temperature inside. The mini cupcakes I purchased were good! They're fresh, soft, and just enough sweet to satisfy your cravings. This is great for parties, potlucks and simply including it on your next tea party!

It's a cute shop with a little parking lot that gets filled quickly behind it or street spots up for grabs. Inside are some seats if you want to eat your goods there but it seemed like most people grabbed & left. We were warmly greeted, ordered then waited as our cupcakes were hand frosted! Yep, they frost the cupcakes here as ordered so it'll always be a couple minutes for your goodies. It's a quick process though then you're out the door! Prices were completely reasonable. I tried a few different things at the bakery like the Chocolate Chip Cookie (pretty good), the Chocolate Chip Cake Ball (excellent) and the Brownie (disappointedly dry) but as previously mentioned, the cupcakes are what's truly fire here. The cake is so incredibly moist in their cupcakes - it's jaw dropping! The frosting is sweet & sugary but not over-the-top. The two parts together marry in pastry heaven making for a really delicious cupcake. The Chocolate Caramel Salty Cupcake was indulgently perfect. I'll definitely be back to Patty's Cakes for more of their cake-items like the cupcakes and cake balls. Nomzzzzz!
We got 11 dozen mini vegan cupcakes for our engagement party here and they were so delicious and perfect for the party. We had around 55 people and we didn't have a single cupcake left. They were a hit and everyone thought they were delicious. Favorite flavors are s'mores and eclair and we also ordered the strawberry, Oreo, piña colada, and white mini razzle. Wish they were closer to us but worth the drive and so delicious!
The best cupcakes hands down. Incredibly moist, so many fun flavors & the icing is not overwhelming. I love that there is a flavor for almost any mood. I also enjoy that they are essentially made to order. They always come out picture perfect & I have yet to try a flavor I didn't like. My top favorite flavors are the butter pecan, the early riser & the Elvis. These cupcakes make a fun gift for any occasion & are great little treats. Parking is street and a small lot. Customer service is great, they also sell a limited number of Thrifty's ice cream! We've been coming here for years & the quality is always top notch.
We didn't go crazy on the cake design and went with a pretty simple three layer cake. There are so many different combinations of wedding cakes available at Patty's Cakes. We enjoyed the cake tasting where they prepared various cupcake bases, flavors, and frostings for us to mix and match. We ended up going with a three layer cake with the following combinations: vanilla cake with guava and strawberry oreo, strawberry cake with strawberry mousse and strawberry oreo, and vanilla cake with custard and strawberry oreo. We obviously really liked the strawberry oreo. The cake was delivered ahead of time and handled well. And the available ribbon colors also gave it a nice accent pop to our garden theme.

We had the best experience ordering our wedding cake with Patty's! We just got married 2 Saturdays ago and I am STILL getting compliments on the cake! We got the strawberry with strawberry filling and it was amazing. The tasting was so much fun and super easy. Once we placed our order, Patty's communicated with our venue and got delivery and everything sorted from there. It was the perfect cake and I would order from them over and over again. read more

We recently booked a local venue for our wedding and patty's is the preferred cake vendor. (cake comes with our package) With that being said we recently had our tasting and to say we were pleased would be an understatement! We tried 3 different flavors but the strawberry bliss was both of our favorites. Since the tasting we have already been back because we seriously couldn't wait to have it again. My fiancé and I truly consider it a hidden gem! The staff is also very helpful and friendly. 10/10 recommend and we will definitely be back! read more

Came in for a quick dessert! Tried the mini cupcakes! My favorite was the banana/vanilla and the Oreo!!! The lemon cupcake was yummy but tart! I'd definitely consider having them at my next party. We chose Patty's Cakes for our wedding cake and we are so happy with the result!! The cake testing was SO fun, and the planning consultation was super helpful & easy. Once we chose our flavors & design, we were able to sit back and just wait for the cake to be delivered on the day of our event. This took a lot of stress off of our plate! We went with the Butter Pecan flavor cake with cream cheese filling and our guests had so many compliments! Our design was also gorgeous, and matched our aesthetic perfectly :) read more
**Parking** They have their own very small private lot, but there's also street parking nearby. There was a very rude driver that was parked illegally in the middle of the lot and honking at everyone who tried to maneuver their own car around them. There were multiple parking spots available, so I honestly don't even know why they were doing all of that. **What I ordered at the counter** (1) Strawberry Blonde cupcake (1) Monkey's Uncle cupcake (1) Marble bag-of-cake (1) Red velvet bag-of-cake **Quality of food received** So I've tried their cupcakes and cake pops previously when my book club bestie would bring them around for our gatherings. They were super delicious and because I was already in the Fullerton area to study, I decided to pop into their storefront to pickup a few things for my household. The cupcakes I chose were soooo moist and delightful. I had a bite of one the first night I brought them home and they were still 10/10 the morning after. Can't say I've ever experienced that before with cupcakes from other bakeries, so I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the bag-of-cake was also an interesting experience. I love banana desserts as well as strawberry desserts, so both cupcakes delivered. I really enjoyed the marble cake I tried and froze my leftovers for a rainy day. Red velvet is generally a safe choice as well, so I'm glad I was able to secure both flavors. **Ordering experience** The cashier informed me that rewards points and discounts are only available for their online pre-orders. She mentioned that because the owner was trying to drive more online sales, customers don't earn rewards points for in-store purchases, which I thought was really strange and made for an awkward in-store purchasing experience. I guess I can understand offering online-only discounts/deals because that's the nature of a lot of mobile apps these days, but to not get points for purchasing in-store and to only be told this when you're about to pay for your order? That didn't sit well with me. I really hope that management reconsiders this business practice soon because it came off as really shady when I was hearing about it. read more

Thanks to Patty's cakes for a beautiful cake for my Nana's 95th birthday. I loved the "semi custom" on their website, made it very easy to order. It was our first time trying a cake here and my family thought it was delicious. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is 2 small areas for improvement- the cake was well placed on the little round board but unfortunately the board was not well secured in the box, causing a dent. Luckily, we had no writing on the cake so we could just turn that part to the back. And the second area for improvement is that we thought the strawberries and custard filling would have more real large pieces of cut strawberry. While it tasted delicious it definitely tasted more like a jam. Perhaps because strawberries are more seasonal to summer, but it would've been nice to know beforehand! My personal favorite is the Chocolate with Peanut Butter Mousse Cupcake. I think what makes Patty's special is how moist their cupcakes are. What made the Peanut Butter Mousse stand out is how the mousse reflects the taste of peanut butter without being overly sweet. As a bonus, the shop is also very clean with a sitting area that allows you to people/car watch. read more
I have had this place on my Yelp bookmarks for awhile. Finally made it here. The cupcakes are fresh, made with quality ingredients. The chocolate fudge frosting was the best part. I would prefer either no filling or a fudgy filling instead of the vanilla mousse. The mousse was good, I just don't want anything to detract from my chocolate LOL. That is just my personal preference. They were fairly busy for a Tuesday afternoon, so that speaks well for the business. The store is very clean and decorated very cute. Patty's Cakes and Desserts did an incredible job with our wedding desserts! They created a beautiful wedding cake for our Vietnamese wedding ceremony and delicious wedding cupcakes for our American wedding celebration, and everything turned out perfectly. From start to finish, their consultation process was so easy and helpful. The tasting experience was amazing, and with so many unique and delicious flavor combinations to choose from, it was honestly hard to decide on just a few favorites. Not only did everything look beautiful, but every dessert tasted incredible and was a huge hit with our guests. My husband and I really enjoy Patty's cupcakes when we were dating. We often joke around about having Pattys as our wedding cake. Flash forward, we had Patty for our cake! The cake was light, and not too sweet. Our guests really enjoyed it. They made the cake tastings and delivery smooth. We rented the cake base from them. Highly recommend this place for your cupcakes/cakes. read more

I'll start with a disclaimer: I haven't personally purchased from Patty's Cakes and Desserts yet--but after trying one of their cakes at a friend's birthday, I feel like that's about to change very soon. The cake was an 8-inch white chocolate marble filled with chocolate chip mousse and strawberry mousse, and it completely exceeded expectations. The balance of flavors was spot-on--rich without being overwhelming--and I especially appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet. The frosting-to-cake ratio was just right, and the texture was perfectly moist without feeling heavy. It's rare to come across a cake that hits all the marks like this, and this one absolutely did. Safe to say, it left a lasting impression. I'm already looking forward to trying more flavors. The lemon cake caught my eye, and as someone who loves anything citrus, that's definitely next on my list. read more

I'm writing this as a long-time paying customer who has spent hundreds of dollars at Patty's Cakes and Desserts--and at this point, the lack of basic packaging and customer care needs to be addressed by management. The cakes themselves are good. That's not the issue. The issue is that customers are sent out the door with cakes that are not properly covered or protected. Not only is this inconvenient, it raises serious concerns about cleanliness and handling. Being told that this is due to cakes being damaged in the past is not a solution--it's an admission that a better system hasn't been put in place. At a premium price point, there should absolutely be a reliable method for safely packaging and transporting cakes. Expecting customers to carry an exposed cake outside is unacceptable. It compromises presentation, sanitation, and the overall experience. This is not a minor oversight--it's a fundamental part of food service. After spending the amount of money I have here, I expect a basic standard of care and professionalism. I would like a direct response from management on how this issue is being addressed moving forward. Met a friend for cupcakes, have been wanting to try this place for a while so happy she chose to go here. They have so many selections of cupcakes to choose from, they also have ice cream which is awesome too. They also do cakes for weddings. It's cute inside spacious and clean. There is a bar area to sit and eat your cupcakes if you want too. The lady that took our order was ok not rude or nice just normal lol. We ended up ordering online so she can get her free cupcakes. We talked and had a great time was able to take some photos too. The parking was on the street where we parked. I got the guava lemon one so delicious with guava filling inside. She got a mango one and another one I forgot the name of it. I would come here again they have such beautiful cupcakes, light and airy not too thick of cream on top. Hi, it would be a very tight fit and hard to get in and out. We offer boxes that are 4x4x4 and recommend a box of that size. We only package cupcakes in our boxes. If you opt for an outside box, you'll need to box them yourself.
