The fare seems like simple and unassuming Chinese take-out food, at first, but believe me, everything pops with flavor. Everything is fresh and made to order, which means you might be waiting for a little while for your food to get made, but it is well worth it. The meat dishes look amazing, but the Mixed Veggie Fillet Bun was ridiculously good. I ordered it as a takeaway meal, but as I opened it up to take a picture for my Yelp readers, I couldn't resist taking a bite, and it was gone before I knew it. The juxtaposition of soft fluffy bun, crispy vegetables, and savory mushrooms, was the perfect combination of flavors and textures. Regular Chinese take-out just doesn't compare. This even felt healthy, Lord help me. The place is fairly small and won't seat too many people, but it's clean, comfortable, and there's a lovely park just across the street with plenty of shade and seating where you can go and enjoy your meal if need be. The Chinatowns in the United States are suffering from the success of the early settlers. Those who came first worked hard, raised families and their children and grandchildren have moved into the suburbs. It was very difficult to decide which restaurant to try. Most of them offered the standard fare and we were hungry. One of the things we didn't care for is that most establishments have someone standing outside to greet you. Some were annoyingly aggressive (very Un-Chinese like), others simply ignored us by carrying on conversations with co-workers, others just made eye contact and smiled pleasantly. We like to look at the menus posted outside and detest someone breathing over us like the barkers at a strip club (not that I've been to one). The woman in front of this restaurant was stoic, yet friendly. She watched as we perused the menu and seemed somewhat surprised when we asked for a table for two. We were surprised when we followed her in and faced two flights of stairs. the dining room was on the second floor, toilets on the third. We later noticed an elevator but we're never informed of it's presence. We had been wondering how mobility challenges diners would get up and down. The dining room was medium in size, well lit and clean. At the back of the room appeared to be a pocket door that led to additional tables for private dining. After we were seated, it took a couple of minutes for someone to ask if we wanted tea. This is an important point in any Dim Sum meal for me. Many cultures will greet their guests in their native language first, then switch to English when necessary. Some will look at me and instead of asking me what type of tea I'd like to order, just serve house tea. Those places will get me asking in Cantonese what kind of tea it is because I hadn't selected yet. A lesson - Tea in a Chinese restaurant is usually served at no charge with a meal. However, with Dim Sum, there is a fee. Therefore, you can request your favorite Chinese tea. Some will cost more than others. My tea of choice is a blend called Gook Bo. Bo Lee is also known as Pu'Erh, a 'dry' black tea. Gook Fa is Chrysanthemum Flower, which adds a nice floral note. The two together have a nice flavor and when consumed hot, wash down any greasiness left behind by the food. The dim sum was spot on. The Har Kau was very well done. The Udon dish was excellent even though they weren't really Udon noodles (Japanese). Service was very good. Our tea pot was checked frequently and if our tea cups weren't full, staff quickly took care of that. We would definitely love to go there for a full ten-person dinner to try more flavors. Anyone game? We ordered some Dim Sim and a plate of noodles.

A variety of tasty dishes to be shared and enjoyed alongside the duck. The bathrooms left something to be desired, but they worked. There is an upstairs that we did not see, but many people were ushered up there, and a large number of Chinese people came out while we were there, many speaking to the owner and thanking him for a wonderful meal. So, I think the spot is known by the locals as being good, and we felt that way with our experience.

A poster with a review from the London Financial Times points to their roast duck as "the best in the world"-- I am by no means qualified to know if that is true but I ordered the 3 meat option with duck, pork belly, and barbecue chicken and found the duck to be delicious (as were the other meats). The rice is very good, not greasy at all. My wife had chicken and rice, and her chicken was a lighter grilled chicken that was also good. We had an order of the pork dumplings which were also great. Service was fast, efficient, and friendly. Prices fair.
