I toured 3 other places before choosing Dragonluck. My dog was rescued from a puppy mill and has severe separation anxiety and housebreaking issues...It is hard to put into words what Dragonluck has done for his rehabilitation! Dawn spent a lot of time teaching him to stay close to her when off-leash (greyhounds tend to take off so this is an accomplishment). After we had been sending him three times per week for a couple of months, we noticed an incredible difference In his behaviour and confidence. Dawn is very flexible and happy to take the dogs whenever is needed and with little notice. She has a tremendous amount of knowledge and is happy to share it because she really loves all of her clients. The property is large and there is a place for them to swim and play, and it's all well fenced. My dog loves going here and starts dancing in the back seat as soon as we turn into the driveway. The price is very reasonable! I don't hesitate to recommend Dragonluck to anyone. Dawn and her helpers are wonderful!

Having never been before we decided to make a holiday of it and take our motorhome and of course Cooper(our puggle) came with us. After searching for a kennel online we happened to contact Dawn at Dragonluck Kennels. Not only did she help us with our questions and helped make our choice to use dragonluck, she went above and beyond. We emailed back and forth with her replies being quick not leaving me waiting. Originally Cooper was going to just use the daycare for a few hours the day of the wedding, however plans changed and he ended up on an overnight. In order to allow us to sight see the next day before leaving Ottawa, she offered to deliver Cooper to us at our campground, saving us a trip back out to the kennel (at least 1/2 hour away). Cooper was in fine spirit and didn't seem to have any anxiety over being away from us. And he ate!!! That is incredible in itself. As he is 11+ years, he has developed some separation anxiety when in strange environments. Apparently not at Dragonluck. Dawn and the staff get a huge thumbs up from us, Great experience. Read on My wife got everything done by email for are 2 dogs to stay here. The morning of are trip she email the dogs medical info and asked if there was anything we needed to bring or need to know before we go. We were told no and they would see us later. Being are first time there we showed up around 2 not knowing there are special drop off times. The owner was rude from the start and wanted us to pay $31.00 to drop off the dogs early and that we should no this as it's on the email. I started to asked my wife to take a look at the emails and the owner didn't let me finish my conversation with my wife when she went nuts screaming at us and getting in our face. I keep asking if I could finish my conversation but she keep freaking out saying no and telling us to pay the $31 or get out of her property. If she would have let me finish I would have said if it's on the email i have no issues paying it. We ended up leaving as her verbal harassment was to much. We later check all email correspondence and the only thing is a small signature block with the time they are open. There was nothing in regards to a early drop off fee or a fee if you show up at a deferent time. When then went to Hwy 7 pet retreat unannounced. It was not a drop off time but they were very helpful and kind and had room for our dogs. Since it was our first time there they took the time with a smile to explain how it works there. Our flights got cancelled due to the storm, and we advised them before visits were to start, but…read morethey insisted on full payment of the invoice anyway. This is their right but insisting on a full week payment was a bit heartless especially as we were a new client. But what really took the cake was adding additional charges that we never agreed to, to the invoice. So not only do we have to pay for the full week and Loving Paws provides zero services, but we also have to pay more than what we agreed to? We even pointed out that the contract and the website do NOT allow for these additional charges. They are very unreasonable and difficult people to deal with and would rather destroy a new client relationship over $22 plus HST in made up, unauthorized fees, just to pocket even more unearned money. It was a huge mistake trusting Loving Paws with our pet, given the type of person the owner is. UPDATE: After this review was posted, the owner agreed to remove the additional, unauthorized $22 plus HST. The fact that it took this review just to get them to remove unauthorized charges, on top them already getting paid a whole week's worth of payments for no services rendered at all, speaks volumes about this business. I would not recommend them at all. UPDATE+: The owner does not deny anything in my review. She makes it seem, like it's about $22, but it's not. She fails to mention that they insisted on being paid over $170 for an entire week that they did absolutely no work and no visits for, but were jerking me around to add another $22 plus tax to be paid about $200 to do no work, no visits and do absolutely nothing, due to my flights being cancelled. I was shocked as a new client that they would be so money-grubby, as if they couldn't rebook their sitter a week in advance? This owner is a pig, and I've only posted the truth which she doesn't even deny. He statement that I'm negatively impact a small business" is classic deflection, as any negative impact will be due to my truthful review about how bad this business treats a new client, grabbing $200 for doing no work and their taking advantage of the winter storm that ruined our holiday! I took my 4 month pup in for the 1st time this morning and understandably, I was a nervous mom so I popped in an hour later to peek for 30 seconds and snuck out. Unbeknownst to me (because I had never taken a dog to daycare) this is not welcome behaviour. Not less than 2 minutes later, I received a very nasty and condescending call from Amanda, the owner, who proceeded to cuss me out! Rather than communicating with me as a 'professional' and speaking to me with respect, she opted to 'scold' me, a 1st time client. If what I did was not in line with their policies and procedures, then I would have welcomed being informed politely and educated in a manner that befits professionals and adults. Instead, I was belittled and bullied! Even after I apologized for my innocent error in judgment, she just kept going! If this is how she treats humans, I'm curious how she treats our pets. I immediately went back to pick up my pup and Ananda flat out refused me the courtesy of speaking with me. I recommend finding alternate accommodations for your beloved canine.

She has taken great care of our 2 senior…read morecats, both of whom have medical issues (kidney disease, hyperthyroidism and diabetes) - so pills in pill pockets, insulin injections and monitoring/controlling food time (so they don't eat each others' food) is well managed. It's a lot to think about with these two! Also kidney disease cat doesnt use a litter box, so picking up random poo and pee pads is done without complaint. She also recently squeezed us in at the last minute on a holiday long weekend for a night away, our big thanks for that! We are beyond pleased, and happily recommend Petra for your cat sitting needs.
