Ask the Community - Bel Aire Plaza

We will be in Napa next month and want to visit the Bel Aire Plaza but we are in an Rv and have heard the plaza parking isn't great. Is that true and is there any designated RV parking spots?

They don't have designated RV spots. People who are in RVs usually parallel park, taking up several spots. One would be comparably better off parking in the nearby neighborhoods. Now that OSH is out of business, there is more parking.

Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Pharmaca, Cost Plus, OSH, Target, Copperfields, Villa Corona and my bank too!

We took over 3 hours shopping at our favourite brand stores. Had an enjoyable time, found good deals. In the last few months some changes seem to have happened, there are no food places anymore, the restroom location has shifted and there are some snack and beverage vending machines placed in the area outside those. I like this placement better; the restrooms are now located centrally in the mall. Ample parking spaces which makes it convenient. Over all a good experience except for the brief not so worthy a moment at the Adidas store - the front desk person there - she is not a best customer servicing person. Maybe someone really needs to look into that aspect. Will come back soon!

Our guests were not able to make it to the Livermore outlets on this trip, so since we were in Napa, we decided to make a quick pit stop here for them. They visited a few businesses and bought some souvenirs from Tommy Hilfiger. 44 businesses - Only 3 of which were food & drink businesses; see their website. Decent size parking lot, but I think the entrance had a bottle neck. Not sure if the design is optimal...? Or maybe because it was raining and so dark that we did not get a clear view. Ambiance - See above. Right off the freeway 29, so very convenient. We have probably not been here for over 30 years...? Open 7 days a week, see website for specific hours. Service - Overall okay. Price - Depends on what you buy. I would say most businesses here are in the medium price range. Owner Comment - Congrats to the current owners of the Simon Property Group. 1960's Simon property group founded, REIT. Worldwide company with 232+ properties. 1993 Went public, IPO. 2004 Entered the outlet mall business with the acquisition of Chelsea Property Group.

It's very walkable, feels safe, and has that nice open downtown layout where you can let kids wander a bit. This was helpful since we were meeting our nephews there for part of the day. Everything is close together, so you can go from wine tasting to shopping to coffee or dinner. We spent the afternoon popping in and out of shops and had a great time. I stopped into C'est La Paire looking for comfortable walking shoes and Deb was so sweet and helpful. I also loved Tay & Grace and Kalifornia Jean Bar--both had a ton of things I wanted to take home. We grabbed coffee at Deuces, which is super cute and local-feeling, and I picked up a gift for my nephews and my dog at Hopscotch & Bark (honestly one of the cutest shops)! We wandered into Eiko's for happy hour, which was gold - great prices and really solid sushi. Definitely try the Ricky Ricardo on Vacation and, oh my god, the Bluefin Avocado Sashimi is out of this world. We were walking back to the hotel and happened to hear some live music down at Tonewood & Courage, which was such a cool venue. Overall it's just an easy, enjoyable spot to spend the day with a little bit of everything and we didn't even have to get in our car. Everyone loved it!

The wings (best everrrrr), the bahn mi, the pho... their pizzas. You can't go wrong. Same with Deuces Market. Great place to hang out outside. Love their chai. It's also a nice spot to grab a bottle of wine and relax. Just has a local feel. Eiko's has been a family favorite forever and one of us doesn't even eat fish - it has something for everyone... but you can't go wrong with any of their sushi rolls. We can't go to First Street without stopping at The Bennington and Copperfield's. My boys love picking out a new book. They have a great kid's section. And don't forget to climb the squirrel for 15 minutes, at least! :) Oh and we had the best date making our own candles/scents at Bougie. I highly recommend taking a class. Afterward, we had dinner at Hestan, and it was incredible! I highly recommend checking them out. Tonewood & Courage is such a local gem. I wish I could go to more of their shows, such a cool venue. I feel like locals miss out not coming to downtown often - we love it.

We finally decided to make a dedicated shopping trip out of it, and I was honestly surprised by how large the outlet center is. There are well over a hundred stores, ranging from designer brands to more everyday retailers, so it's easy to spend an entire day there if you're not careful. We quickly realized it was best to focus on a handful of stores rather than trying to see everything. We ended up visiting places like Clarks, Adidas, Levi's, Banana Republic, and Gap. Every store we walked into had impressive sales for selected items or for everything in the store. Some of the prices were the best I had seen in a while. I walked away with two pairs of shoes and a pair of pants, though still nowhere near as much as my significant other bought! Overall, it turned into a fun and relaxing day. One helpful tip: it's an open-air outlet mall, so visiting on a nice day definitely makes the experience more enjoyable.

After I got tired, I realized I hadn't even covered half the center. Well, if you enjoy shopping, plan on a long day and you might wanna make a list of the stores that are of high interest. I don't think it's at all possible to visit every store in the center in one day. Overall, I like this outlet center a lot. It took a bit more travel time to get here, but certain stores are pretty unique. I inadvertently ended up at the far corner of the center, which sure made parking really easy.

Idiot had the balls to come back a week later trying to hand me a candy bar. I'm assuming it was laced with fentanyl because I saw him throw it away. Same man works downtown, frequents the Barlow, the downtown plaza, Starbucks locations, Safeway and whole foods. Also many employees of the businesses downtown are part of this scam. Don't spend your money here. I mean go ahead spend your money in the Barlow, but I wouldn't take money anywhere on main Street or anywhere in the downtown vicinity, definitely never ever ever show anybody that you have money here, they will definitely try to defraud you. If some seemingly sweet middle-aged blonde woman offers you a cup of juice, ignore her or refuse it, she does the exact same scam in the plaza while on her break. Her method is that she'll claim that the person stole the juice and that they owe her $15. Because she's an employee of a business she has more of the say than any random civilian walking around town, and the police are easily swayed to take cash from anyone. Also if you walk by the Rialto you might get hit in the head by a security guard for no reason other than he's mentally ill, and everyone likes hiring autistic security guards because they're nice and friendly normally. Basically if you see a Cadillac or a Buick you're about to get screwed for any cash you might be carrying as well as any personal belongings that the fraudsters want their hands on.

The service at all of the places I have been to is excellent and everyone is friendly and inviting. As far as food, I love the Osito Tacos, because who doesn't love tacos. I haven't tried all the food options here but the ones I have tried were all great. I also love Region, a self-serve wine bar, and enjoy sampling different wines. Each month they feature a winery and you can enjoy a flight of wines or partake in different events they have. The Barlow is dog friendly so you will see cute dogs on leashes. They have plenty of outdoor and indoor areas to sit, relax, and enjoy your time there. They have events so if interested in going to any events here, check out their events calendar online.
