No one or no company is perfect, but how they handle issues speaks volumes and these guys did it right. ------------------ I called for a routine thing - transitioning my ADHD medication from one state to another following a move. I have been taking this medication successfully, at the same dose, for over 20 years. It's no big deal right? Wrong. After a 30 minute conversation they decided I am possibly not ADHD at all(spoiler: I am), think I may have a completely different condition (that my fabulous therapist of 10+ years and previous psychiatrists missed apparently), and declined to transition my medication unless I was treated for said other condition first(not simultaneously). The fact that this medication is basically required for me to do my job is I guess not that important? I am not upset, but the experience was bizarre, and the priorities were way out of order. It is their right to do so, but it's also mine to record my complaints about my experience.

I found Fulfilled Care with a simple search and my provider Alexis Ayar came to my rescue to assist me since my home state provider was not able to prescribe over state lines. Each visit was excellent. I was treated with kindness and courtesy, in addition to being thoroughly assessed. The virtual visits were also a life saver, as I work very long hours and with little free time. I was also self-pay and the visit costs were very reasonable considering. Thank you immensely!

I've been seeing Dr. Markowitz for about a year now, and the experience has been night and day from…read moremy last doctor. He's thorough when he knows what he's talking about, honest when he doesn't, and doesn't dance around with platitudes. I'm going to guess that's a bit off-putting by people who are used to being coddled, but for me, I really appreciate his approach. I don't want to be pals and talk about the Tigers game for 8 of the 10 minutes he's in the room. I want to not feel sick. Done and done. Getting a same-day appointment isn't too difficult if you've got something legit, and though it may not be with the Doctor himself, his PA is at least as good. I've never once felt like "Okay, go get the doctor" when I've seen her. I also appreciate not being left in the waiting room forever, or being brought back near my appointment, only to be left in the exam room for 45 minutes. When I've asked for a same-day appointment, the longest I've waited was maybe 20 minutes total. With appointments, it's usually about 10 minutes. I'm pretty quick to change doctors when something seems amiss, but I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever been to a practice that's instilled -- and more importantly, earned -- nearly implicit trust.

I called Dr. Elena Brand to set up a new appointment as she seemed very friendly at first. After…read moretalking to her for about 5 minutes she said that Mondays would be the best days to meet. She kept asking me who my last doctor I saw in the past which was I found very odd. After I texted her all my personal information and my insurance card, Dr. Brand stated she would call me after verifying my insurance. The next day I got a call from the previous doctor I haven't talked to in a long time wanting to see me. I was so confused why he was calling me. I asked him how he even got my phone number and stated that Dr. Elena Brand contacted him to call me. This is the guy I had a bad experience with years ago. So instead of verifying my insurance, Dr. Elena Brand contacted my previous doctor without telling me. Then when I asked Dr. Elena Brand she got very defensive on the phone and hung up on me mid-sentence when I trying to understand I was trying to find out why she would do that. She had no idea I was a host of the biggest podcasts in the country dealing with therapists from all over the world. This is clearly against HIPAA laws. It's not only unethical but very unprofessional to not take any accountability for her actions. I am unable to recommend her to anyone and will let everyone know to stay clear from her.

I've been working with Dr. Elena Brand for the past ten years, after a referral from my trusted…read morefamily doctor. Prior to working with Dr. Brand, I never lasted with a therapist for more than a year, for a variety of reasons. The two biggest reasons I think Dr. Brand has "worked" well with me? Consistency and professionalism. Dr. Brand has seen me through a major career change, a big move, and countless family situations that I was unequipped to handle. Her consistency as I rode waves of change was the stability that allowed me to move forward. I also work with a handful of other medical professionals on a regular basis. I am hypersensitive to information being passed between these professionals, which happens after I see each of them. Dr. Brand is always on top of making sure I have given her, and them, written consent to speak with each other, and has always been steadfast in making sure releases are up-to-date. Therapy is hard work, looking at yourself and the way you interact with the world can be a painful and tearful process. Dr. Brand is truly a gem, and I am lucky to work with her as my therapist.

I am deeply disappointed with how this practice handled billing for my son. To provide context: we…read morehad a phone call with one of their therapists to see if they would be a good fit for my son, an initial consultation to determine availability and compatibility. Their schedule did not work for us, so we moved on. That was the end of it, or so I thought. Months later, I began receiving bills for services I was never informed would be charged. My son never received therapy here. We never came in for an in-person appointment. I called and spoke with Rose, who said she would follow up with the therapist and get back to me. I never heard back. When another bill arrived, I called again. Rose then escalated to the office manager and that's where things went completely sideways. The office manager immediately had an attitude and insisted I had come in for an evaluation. I told her clearly: I was never at your West Bloomfield office. This was entirely by phone. Instead of listening, she proceeded to repeat back private, personal information I had shared with the therapist, essentially using sensitive details about my son's situation to try to prove I had been there. That is a serious concern. She then threatened to "pull the cameras" to show I was there. Please do. Because I was never there. I'll be honest, I did raise my voice. After being spoken to with an attitude, having my concerns dismissed, and having my son's private information thrown back at me, I got frustrated. I am human. She then hung up. I am a parent who has been working hard to find the right therapist for my child. I have had many initial phone consultations and have never been charged for one. The lack of transparency about fees, the aggressive response when I raised a legitimate concern, and the handling of sensitive information in that conversation were all completely unacceptable. I will be following up further.

Three stars is the average between the totally condescending, patient-hostile front desk staff, and…read morethe high quality doctors. Perhaps the doctors are so busy that the staff attempts to drive away potential patients. Apparently, when a sick patient recently arrived for a scheduled appointment, the staff turned them away because they were sick (could be COVID you know, or not). Requesting that they at least talk to the doctor about their illness via teleconference during their scheduled appointment time, they were seemingly told NO, the doctor can't talk to you (too busy - even though the visit was scheduled?)! So... it seems you should only go to the doctor if you are feeling well... If you can brave the Soviet-style receptionists or somehow sneak past them, the rest is fine.

Excellent doctors, and front desk staff are mostly ok, but when you call to speak with a nurse to get a prescription refill or because of an issue with a prescription? Be prepared for astonishingly awful customer service. I've had nurses who were utterly rude, condescending, and outright hostile when I had a simple question about a possible drug interaction, or just to ask the doctor for a different prescription because of a medical issue. Everyone understands that some medical staff / nurses become jaded and cynical because of the types of drugs that people abuse (which is also not acceptable), but I'm talking about *routine prescriptions* here, like statins and antibiotics. It's appalling how shoddy their listening skills and interpersonal skills are. They are sorely lacking in manners and do not listen. If I didn't like my doctor so much, I would go elsewhere because of the rudeness of the staff. Here's hoping that the doctors and managers weed out the rude staff members and keep the good ones. I avoid calling there because I don't want to deal with them. What a shame.
