Dr. Rachel Ellis is amazing. I can't say enough good things about her. She is compassionate, empathetic and she will fight for you. I have Thyroid Eye Disease and needed surgery to bring the lids down so the corneas would be protected. My insurance company denied the surgery. Dr. Ellis spent hours on the phone with the insurance doctors pleading my case and she got it approved. Dr. Ellis did a fantastic job! I now Look like my old self again. over 10 you're going to this dermatologist and have used their surgical end now more than once . I showed up to have mole surgery on the tip of my nose which they had already done the biopsy for and came back cancerous. Needless to say, I was quite nervous, but as I was checking in to have Dr. Ellis and his wife, The plastic surgeon do the surgery. I was advise that as of about 10 days ago They were no longer accepting my insurance. Interesting note just two days ago I received confirmation from my insurance that dr Ellis put in request for this surgery and was approved. Additionally, Dr. Ellis couldn't take the time to speak with me at all I was told by his reception staff I should contact my insurance and find out who else in another dermatologist office had staff who could perform a mole surgery quickly Or I could change my insurance insurance. Basically it came down to after over 10 years it meant nothing to Dr. Ellis and I guess he wasn't getting enough money from my insurance company for compensation. It was much easier not to notify me and wait until I actually had the appointment to come in for the surgery and to tell me they were not going to do it . it became my responsibility to find a replacement. I have had a few dermatologists in my lifetime. My biggest pet peeve is when they are quick to cut. I like conservative dermatologists. I also insist on billing transparency. Lastly, I like a physician who is will to have dialogue and doesn't act like a dictator. He is always open to communication. Dr. Ellis knows when to refer. I have been in contact with physicians on both sides as a patient and they have been my clients. I have worked, unofficially, in provider relations serving between insurance companies and the physicians' offices. Dr. Ellis is absolutely in this for the right reasons. He's smart, knowledgable, fair and patient. His staff is professional and always helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Jeff Ellis for all of your derm needs. read more

Dr. Baigrie is the best! While she specializes in an array of dermatologic conditions and is quite knowledgeable as Dermatologist, I often see her for cosmetic treatments such as botox, filler and lasers. My priorities with my injectable treatments were to ensure the end result was a natural but enhanced look, and Dr. Baigrie did just that. She always makes sure to leave extra time to ensure I am properly nummed and that theres enough time during my appointment for her to answer any questions I may have. the dr spent legitimately 5 minutes with me. she barely let me speak and when she did, she looked at me like i was stupid. she examined my dry scalp for all of 7 seconds then sent me on my way with a shampoo that made my scalp worse and a 'come back in a month', leaving the room before i had a chance to tell her that i would be moving the following week for a few months so i couldn't schedule another appointment until i returned in january. now im stuck with a scalp worse than before in a different state and the dr hasnt bothered to check in to see how im doing considering she wanted to see me in a month from my appointment in may. the only thing ive heard from them is that they want my money for their terrible service. ive been to a dermatologist before that genuinely cared about me and my wellbeing but his office was far so i thought id try this one that was down the road. big mistake. never again. read more

When I got kicked off my fathers insurance when I turned 26, I picked a new dermatologist based off of reviews under my new insurance that was in close proximity to where I live. That's how I ended up at Belaray. I've only ever seen Dr. McCall for a full body check which she was extremely thorough with (literally checking my scalp down to the bottoms of my feet for unusual or questionable beauty marks) and for Botox to help with my hyperhydrosis in my armpits. She's a fantastic doctor who always listens to my concerns and we've always had great conversation. The assistants are nice as well! The place is always clean, and while waiting times can be a little long, I will never go elsewhere. On top of that, I was having major problems with Optum RX refilling my Botox prescription and getting it to the office. I ended up calling the office to explain my situation and how I've tried numerous times to have it sent. I sadly forgot the kind lady I spoke to at the office, but she went the extra mile to call Optum RX herself and refused to hang up while the pharmacy called me to tell me they were shipping out the Botox prescription. Without her, I would've still probably been calling that pharmacy wondering where my prescription is and why it's not getting delivered. I'm super thankful for her going the extra mile to help me out and to get me in the office ASAP. read more

They put a liquid to solve something in his skin, it was 170 $, it didn't make any effect and they wanted to try again....with the same thing and another 170 $. The office is clean and new, with a large waiting rooms and magazines to read while you wait. The reception staff is always friendly. I love Dr. Slear, she's so kind and takes the time to listen to you and come up with the best treatment for your specific needs. I have an allergy to a component that is in a lot of topical steroids and pills, but Dr. Slear takes the time to figure out what medication I can and can't have by researching them. Other doctor's made me feel like there was no hope and there was nothing they could do to help me, I'm glad that I stumbled upon Dr. Slear, she's amazing. read more

My wife has pushed me to get my body scanned for any imperfections of course i always joke my skin is perfect. i finally decided to make the plunge at first my wife had told me i must see Dr Amy Slear MD as she explained Dr Amy Slear is the best and she really thinks she would be the best after having to wait so long (4+ weeks) for an appointment i decided to see Amrit Kumar PA. Amrit Kumar PA is the most amazing person that i had the privilege of having help me with as you gusset right....... i am not perfect. He is very knowlegable very caring and great bedside manner. i would put Amrit Kumar PA in the same category as any doctor, and i would still choose Amrit Kumar PA. I just wanted to share my wonderful experience at Belaray and express my appreciation for such wonderful care. staff are wonderful. read more

If waiting is your game, questionable service your thing, you found the right place. Average wait time for me with six visits, 45-1 hour! Went in for the exact spot on my head, now booking three times. The first two, liquid nitrogen, burning sensation, few days the scab falls off. Twice now with exactly the same outcome. My third visit, exact same spot as I've said, liquid nitrogen. Felt no burning sensation, doctor Jeff used his finger circling the area as if smearing cold cream. Got home grabbed a mirror and long and behold, looked untouched. Will call his office today to complain and request my copay be returned. As I will need to see another doctor for the same exact spot again! read more

Was not going to write this review but then I got proper treatment & had to let the world know. Belaray is absolutely awful, I had been going there for years. Always waiting 30-45 mins before my appointment plus extra time in the little room. Little help with questions and I was prescribed a retinoid with improper instructions that made my skin even worse. DO NOT COME HERE. Since then I've been seeing Dr Eve Lupenko at Greenberg Dermatology in Syosset, never wait more than ten mins, questions welcomed and my skin is 100x times better than what Belaray left me with. Dr Kumar & Dr Slear (who is impossible to get an appointment with but I understand because she's one of the few kind people there) are good doctors but they need to be working at a different office because Belaray as a whole is horrendous. read more

The thing about doctors is, they're too busy. Dr Jeff is the exception. He rolled over in his chair, he shined a light, answered my questions, and solved my problem. I don't want to say what itched, but it does not itch anymore. The support staff was accommodating. And...get this...they honored their appointment time. I had a prescription, it was waiting for me at cvs. Seamless. I already booked a follow up to get my skin that healthy glow I've been hoping for. If only my favorite pizza places were as reliable. The waiting room is very clean with some magazines - I never want to touch !! There's free samples as leaving which is usual since they get them for free. Take them. The sunblock is great and the others will be too! I never had an issue with the doctors and any physician assistant that one isn't on staff anymore .Not usually a long wait and a great staff to. I am glad with my new doctor! The patient rooms are clean and definitely up with support in technology. I am glad that they can accept lots of difference insurance. They also teach others ! The office personal had great personality and she was very kind. I'm strong on "bedside manner" I think counts a lot! I've been coming here for about 5 years now and I always see someone different, but whoever I see always takes the time to look at everything and is always very thorough and precise. Also, I have a lot of freckles and marks and if something doesn't look right they keep an eye on it by either doing a biopsy or taking a picture of it and checking on it next time. The office is very clean and the front desk staff is awesome! I feel extremely comfortable coming here. If ANYONE is looking for a dermatologist that I highly recommend this place. read more

I called Dr Ellis's office and explained it was an emergency, because the rash is now keeping me up at night and spreading. Dr. Slear is a great and thorough dermatologist. Although getting an appointment is virtually impossible unless you are scheduling for several months out. Parking is very difficult unless you want to valet. The staff are easily confused and have a difficult time communicating office messages to patients. read more

Being 100% Irish I've been going to Belaray for at least 5 years now. I've had at least 6 Mors procedures done, all by Dr. Jeffrey Ellis. It's quite scary when first told you have skin cancer, but the compassion and thorough explanation that Dr. Ellis and his staff provide every step of the way is truly comforting and professional. I have referred at least 50 people to this practice, and intend to continue doing so. Shout out to Amy the medical assistant who always has a smile and when asked a question will make sure she has correct answers, a true asset to the practice! I have been coming here for over 2 years. Every time I go I have waited at least 45 minutes for my appointment. On top of that, the front desk and billing staff are so rude and condescending. They have messed up my appointment for my moms appointment. When I was asked about a problem I had, I realized they were reading my moms account and not my account. I told them the correct reason for me being there and they said they didn't have time to treat me because my treatment was longer than my moms treatment. The doctors are nice but the wait and other staff do not make it worth coming here anymore. read more

Was sent a letter once 3 years after a visit saying I had past due bills that were about to be sent to collections. Tried contacting the billing personnel, Patty multiple times and left multiple notes with her co-workers with a good time to be called. She is never in office, ever. It took me 3 weeks to simply talk to her. I currently could not afford the random bill sent and they take no responsibility in their lack of communication.
