They twice told me I needed a crown instead of fillings. I got one of the crowns done, and then switched insurance to a very expensive one so on Jan 1st I'd be able to get the other one done. (They were not happy I wanted to wait a month and a half to get a crown). I saw a new dentist in January and he said I just needed a deep filling, and looked over my X-rays and said I never needed the first crown. They upsold me on a laser gum treatment and told me insurance would cover it.... It covered $40? I paid the remaining $150 out of pocket. I also got a bill from them 7 months post service saying insurance didn't cover something. When I looked at my insurance, it was denied for failure to submit the claim in a timely fashion. It took 3 phone calls before I finally said: "it looks like it was denied because it wasn't submitted by your staff on time, is that what you're seeing on your end" and magically the bill disappeared. Great personalities, terrible people, terrible treatment.

Upon arrival, I was filling out forms and became very uncomfortable with a page of 'fees' based on a variety of scenarios such as calling to cancel an appointment within 48 hours of a scheduled exam. In the past, I have contracted a cold or illness before a scheduled medical appointment. These issues happen but this provider was going to charge you a hefty fee for calling to cancel an appointment 48 hours ahead of time...ridiculous. The one that bothered me the most was the transfer fee if you decided to go to another dental provider. This is when I decided not to use this dental practice. I understand when you fail to show up for an exam but when responsible people are being 'nickeled and dimed' this is where I chose to seek another dental practice.

Also, Dr Hascall seemed to be more concerned if I was fully vaxxed, which was none of his business.

The front desk staff is amazing and make you feel really welcome (almost like you've known them your entire life)...Also I'm so happy with my hygienist Lisa... She is so awesome... I have been to numerous Dental providers over the years and have had some Bad hygienists and Dental visits in general. We love coming here, they know you by name and are so friendly! I actually had to have a family member take me to my first appointment to make sure I wouldn't turn around and go home once reaching the parking lot. I was literally shaking with fear as I entered the office for the first time! Within 5 minutes of my first appointment, Dr. Kocian had put me completely at ease. He has a wonderful mannerism - he clearly explains what needs to be done and why, and checks with you frequently to make sure you are comfortable during any procedure. More importantly, he stressed if I was ever uncomfortable, I could just raise my hand and we would stop and figure things out to make sure I was comfortable!! This feeling of having control over my treatment quickly washed away years of anxiety and fear - and I now actually look forward to my visits!! It's not only Dr. Kocian that makes this practice so great - the rest of the staff is amazing!! They are all very professional, kind, caring, and help to put you completely at ease!! It feels more like I am going to hang out with friends for an hour or so than like I am going to the dentist! I would absolutely recommend this practice to ANYONE!! After years of neglecting my dental health because of my fears, Kocian Family Dental has me back on track!! For the girl who answered the phone Wednesday and said there were 3 Prosthodontists in Nebraska…read more I'm a disabled vet widow who went through everything to obtain Delta Premium Dental that would help me finance the repair of a (VA installed quad zygomatic implant.) One implant failed and 1 bar removed. So in December 2022 when 2 abutments, bar, screw and crown fell out Christmas Eve, I needed help. I found none. VA isn't required to replace the failure and apparently cannot give me advice or suggestions either. Blindly In 2023, $6k to a dental team confident in their abilities to line up and secure my bar, abutments, crowns and screws for my prosthetic. Above his pay grade he stated after he failed to install the screws, he said go to the staff that was familiar with my situation. At the VA, I spoke to my surgeon and reluctant staff tightened 2 screws without being able to speak to my Dentist. My surgeon wanted me to consult with this Dentist so we could plan how to get the 4th implant and new prosthetic started.. In Millard's web page did I find Prosthodontists. I didnt see that they didn't take Delta Insurance. You stated only the Dentists do. Why have a procedure done when you cant get repairs, advice, or insurance? All I wanted was some helpful advice in what to do. You gave a name in Lincoln or I could make a appointment and pay $165.00 to see a dentist in your team. You shut the door in my face with the least amount of effort.Really, how hard is it to leave a message for Dr. Sheridan? Should I have mailed him a letter? The worst he could say is no and most likely you would wait for me to all back. I'll never know. I'll call the surgeon and relay I couldn't afford to pay for 2 insurance plans plus my Medicare/Dental insurance premium along with payments to a Care Credit for dental to have my zygomatic implants repaired or replaced along with a new prosthetic. I have loose hardware that hurts in my face and can do nothing. Emotionally and physically drained I now have no solutions, and bitter to a girl that lacks the skills a patient needs when they are in distress.

I find it hard to believe that the practice had no operating expenses! I paid the $4000. Two months later, after contacting my insurance carrier, I found that the claim was filed incorrectly and some of the services I received were covered and I had been overcharged. I made several attempts to contact the financial representative at the office and she would not return my calls. When I finally reached her she told me that refund was being held for some insurance policy that I signed for on the new partial. That was the first time I was told that such agreement existed! After three months and my insurance payment made to the practice, I finally got the refund. When I picked up the check I requested paperwork on the work completed as well as my treatment plan. When I was younger I had some dental work done, after consulting with Dr Wilson we came up with a plan and I scheduled my appointment for 1 week later (they could have gotten me in sooner but with my work schedule 1 week was my timeline). I have slight anxiety over dental work due to my childhood experiences, so I was a little nervous. Dr Wilson and her team got me settled in and took great care of me. She did such a great job at numbing me-I didn't even feel the shots for numbing. She was meticulous and precise and the results were amazing! I gave them my info, my dental insurance info etc. The person I spoke to said that they were not in my insurance network and that my insurance would only cover 20% of the procedure. They gave me an estimate of $300 for a consultation and then $1,450.00 for the root canal. I wanted to go to them because their website said they offer sedation. I told them I may have to find a different endodontist that is in my network to save money. She said "looks like even if you go to an in network endodontist, they still only cover 20%". I said I would think about it and call back if I wanted to make an appointment. I then logged onto my insurance website and just went to look for in-network endodontist. Found one, called them, made the appointment and a short time later they called with an estimate after insurance - it was only going to be $478.00. I thought that was crazy because if, according to the receptionist, my insurance only covers 20% for both in-network and out of network, that is a huge price difference because Advanced Endodontic Therapy told me $1,450.00 after insurance. I then logged back onto my insurance website and looked over the coverage. My insurance covers 80% of root canals for in network and out of network! So I called this place back, told them the story and they looked up my info and she said "oh, it does look like they cover 80%". I asked if they could check with insurance and do an estimate and she said they don't do that. What?!!! If they don't do that, then why would the previous person I spoke to there tell me $1,450.00!?! I think the receptionists there are just there for a paycheck and could care less about their patients/potential patients! I am so disappointed because now I have to have a root canal from someone that doesn't provide sedation! I suggest that receptionists there need lessons on billing and insurance!
