The vibe here is great! A couple of us got together here with our kids the night before one of their soccer games. We sat outside which has a very camp vibe to it. This worked out great because our kids started to get a little antsy and behave the way kids do when they're "patiently" waiting for their parents to finish enjoying their meal and adult beverages. The outside area was spacious enough for our kids to behave like kids without disrupting the other patrons too much...or so I don't think we disrupted them too much. Another couple was there with their little one who ended up joining in the festivities with our kids. The food was great! We had elote lettuce cups, chicken sliders, Philly fries with chicken instead of steak, hard seltzer flight, Prosecco, churro donuts, bbq bacon pizza, and Mac and cheese for a little over $60...we didn't have any leftovers...we ate it ALL! Oh and they have good hip hop music (clean version) playing in the background which also adds to the cool vibe. Our waitress was so nice, although a bit busy because she indicated she was also the manager but the timeliness was still overall decent. Besides, I know that a lot of businesses are short staffed due to COVID so I was fine with the somewhat delayed service especially since our kids were able to enjoy the outside space in true kid fashion. I love the ambience of this place it's really cool and very welcoming. Sometimes going to a brewery can be loud and crowded but I didn't have that experience here at all. But I'm under the impression the company overall isn't very good/fair to their employees so I don't feel good about spending money there. We've been to the other Belching Beaver locations but this one is our favorite, although they're all fantastic. Outstanding friendly service that will go above and beyond, able to answer whatever questions you have about the menu - food or beer - and always do it with a smile on their face. Whatever you get on the menu you will be happy with! (Pst... try the Buffalo Chicken Loaded Tots and mix it with a side of Mac & Cheese, trust me) I'm typically a Lager guy myself but whenever I've branched out into different types of beer at this location I have never been disappointed with the taste or selection of brews to choose from. My favorite Belching Beaver location. It's easy to get to, plenty of parking and off the beaten path...tucked into a business park in Vista. Excellent beer. However, I have dropped one Star due to their new, post covid, style of ordering at the counter. This can create a long wait in line just to get a beer while people ask for samples and discuss the beer and menu options. When you do finally get your beer and order food, you have to go back inside to pick up your food at the counter. You end up spending a lot of time walking back and forth to the counter and waiting in line to get another beer. I miss the old days of their excellent table service. They also discontinued the chicken sliders which were super popular. They made it one regular sized chicken sandwich, which isn't great for sharing. I would suggest a separate area/line for beer tasting to allow faster service for those who know what they want. And please bring back the yummy sliders! read more

Beer was fine and earned 1 star. This is the "mahi burrito", which we asked to have grilled instead of fried. See the fish? Me either. Who knew the 3 French fries in the burrito would be the substantial portion of the entree. It was a $14 cabbage burrito with a (maybe) 1-ounce portion of tilapia or other white fish which in any case which was absolutely not mahi. You have to love Belching Beaver Brewery. The name sets the stage for animated discussions while enjoying some of their craft beer. I visualize a nocturnal rodent eating his way through some trees, and building a dam to store beer. Don't judge. Even though my primary alcoholic vice is red wine, I truly enjoy a Rye IPA. Seldom do I get to sample draft Rye IPA but the Beaver hooked me up with one of the best brews that I have ever enjoyed on this sunny Saturday afternoon. All of the indoor tables were taken, but not to worry, I like the dog friendly front patio where I can enjoy California's perfect weather and interact with fun patrons and their pooches. Dog Friendly Brewery located in an industrial business park (seems like a lot of breweries are located in these type of areas for some reason... and a lot them are dog friendly too) with a large outdoor patio. My husband and I came to this brewery last Saturday late afternoon, a little after 5:30 pm. We walked in with our little dog. I sat at a small barrel (acts as a table, stool chairs only) and placed my little girl on a chair as my husband waited in line to order (there was only one person ahead of him and inside there were only a few tables left). After browsing through the menu board, my husband ended up ordering: (All are tasters, $2 each) Beaver Buzz- This brew has added flavors of coffee. I am not a coffee fan and so I didn't try any. But my husband did like this. Me So Honey- This blonde beer has a light and subtle honey flavor which makes this beer nice. Great Lei- This beer has added pineapple flavors to this beer. I wasn't a fan of this one (but was hoping that I would be because I do like this fruit) and didn't think the sweetness worked well. But my husband liked this one (my husband is a fan of beer, I'm not so much.. I'm really picky on what beers I like). PB Milk Stout- I was really hoping this stout would be a winner for me but I didn't like this one too much either. I thought it was just okay and only tasted the peanut butter, but didn't really taste the "milk" part of this beer (I guess I don't have a sophisticated palate). My husband also though this one was just okay as well. Here Comes Mango- I wasn't a fan of this (no surprise there... do you see the reoccurring theme here?), but my husband did like this one. ------------------------------------- (Total= $10, tax was not charged) After my husband got his tasters (wait time after ordering was very short), we decided to head outside to the patio for a bigger table. There is a fire pit out here and a few large wooden picnic tables. There are also wooden chairs out here as well. By the way, this brewery does not sell food so make sure to bring/ buy something before coming out here (don't want to leave here drunk so soon now do you? But honestly, drunk driving is a no-no... so make sure to sober up before you head out or make someone the designated driver or consider Uber, Lyft, Flywheel and the like). Restrooms are inside in the lobby area (where you will also find the Belching Beaver mascot in wooden statue form). The men and women restroom are single stalls (so there may be a wait if you use it). The employees who took my husband's order, closed off his tab after we were done and the employee who took away our finished taster glasses were friendly. They all wanted to pet our little dog (Who wouldn't? She is such a cutie!) and smiled whenever she was near them. In the end, even though I was not impressed with most of the brews that I have had, I would still come back because my husband likes this place and I like that this is a dog friendly place (perfect for family time). read more

WOW! Watch out world, I'm drunk in love. Low key venue, dog friendly, child friendly, service oriented, clean bathrooms, food truck and dessert table, chill prices, indoor and patio seating. What else could you ask for? Oh yeah. Flavorful, quality beer. We, mi amigos, have Belching Beaver. With just about 20 offers on tap, ranging from weissbiers to sours to stouts, just about anyone can find something to suit their taste. Prices: On average, a flight of (4) 4oz tastes is $8, with their 4oz tastes averaging between $2-3. About $5-6 for any 16oz pint. Not bad at all. They offer 64oz growlers for some brews, as well as some 22oz bottles for about $7. Brews: PB Milk Stout (nitro): I'm unhealthily obsessed with peanut butter lately, and this beer was everything I crave. It was light, frothy, and at a nice 5.3 ABV, it could serve as a great dessert brew. The peanut butter flavor was not overpowering, nor was there too strong of a milky-lactose effect. Nice and balanced. Viva La Beaver (nitro): Pheewwww. Like I mentioned above, I've got a PB obsession. This 5.3 ABVMexican Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout smells like a Reese's candy bar. It has a full nutty flavor, with a creamy, smooth mouthfeel. True to it's description, the balance between the cinnamon-y chocolate and the buttery peanut flavors do not compete with each other. It's sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. I ordered an 8oz glass to finish off the afternoon. Pink Peppercorn Saison: At 6.4 ABV, this Belgian Farmhouse is easy to drink, very crisp, and light. The flavor is subtle, and has a lighter body with little hints of sour. I wasn't getting much of the peppercorn aspect, but perhaps the low-key flavors were being out shined by the bold stouts in my flight. I would easily sip this on a warm sunny day. Perfect for the beach or a river float sesh. Batch 2: Suuuuuper sour! I love my sours, and this hit the spot. Batch 2 is a hefty 7.3 apricot and peach sour. The feel on my tongue was tantalizing and tangy, with a juicy, citrusy flavor. I even caught a little honey sweetness in the mix. Definitely enjoyed this sour. TL;DR: Come here. You can tell the quality and time they put into their craft. I'd love to come back and do a brewery tour! read more

They were all knowledgeable of their beers and happy to answer any questions. They had food here, but I didn't order anything. On this particular visit I had a flight of their beers: Rabid Beaver, Hop Highway, Beaver Buzz, and Here Comes Mango. Of course I loved the Beaver Buzz because it was a stout, but the Here Comes Mango was a surprise. It was better than I had expected for a fruit beer. I remember coming here when it was half the size, and was a pretty straightforward, spacious, warehouse with not a whole lot going on. That was years ago. The next time I came, they had expanded in size (into the next unit?), put in an additional bar, and built an awesome outdoor patio area. As the parent of a toddler, I definitely appreciate the patio, where I can let the kid run around while I'm enjoying my beer. Their beer is excellent. I always buy their Deftones IPA at the store, but when I come here I tend to try whatever new thing they have going on on tap. Recently, I've been liking the hazy pale ale. The Beaver Milk Stout is pretty good, and I know the peanut butter version is really popular, but I tend to feel that has an artificially flavor to it. One of the great things about living in Vista is all the great breweries. But there's only so much my poor liver can take so I try to space out my visits. My favorite beer here is the Peanut Butter Milk Stout. Some days it's more chocolately than others, but tonight it was more mild. More milky and I couldn't taste the peanuts or chocolate. But regardless, it's a darn good beer. The atmosphere at Belching Beaver is relaxed and there's plenty of seating both inside and out. The Peanut Butter Milk Stout is what they are known for... or at least that's what brought me to this place. what makes it even better was that it was nitro, so it had a more creamy taste to it. i know you can get the PB milk stout at bevmo, but it ain't nitro! ABV: 5.3%, IBU: 30 Our Peanut Butter Milk Stout is simply irresistible. It's like dark chocolate Reese's in a glass! Rolled oats and Lactose add to the creamy body of this beer while heavenly aromas of roasted buttery peanuts and chocolate greet you with every sip. Try this out with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a real treat! they have sampler glasses, which cost 2 bucks each for most of them. I also recommend getting the Dammit Josh! which is horchata in the coconut milk stout.... so yummy. they have a small patio outside with fire rings. so not a shabby place to grab a drink or two and catch up with friends. Keep in mind, this place is located in vista and when we drove past, we saw an insane amount of DUI check points. My wife will tell you that I got us lost. I like to think that The Universe directed us to Belching Beaver. There are two locations - one in down town San Diego, and this one in Vista. I haven't been to the one down town so I can't tell you that the one in Vista is better. But the one in Vista is better. The space is beautiful. Open and inviting without seeming like a warehouse. Sitting and eating and drinking among the brewhouse is always the best. The staff are awesome. We had 2 or 3 different folks taking care of us and all of them were amazing. Very helpful with picking out beers, and super friendly. They don't have their own food on site, but they do have food vendors come in. And the food was great, but that's another review... Alright,I'll cut the bullshit. Let's talk about the beer. Holy crap. Good stuff! Between my wife and I, I had at least a taste of every beer they had available. All of them were awesome. Even the styles that are not my favorites. Their peanut butter stout was perfect, with a great peanut butter tastes and a hit of chocolate from the roast. Their Mexican with peanut butter, chocolate and chile was also great. I'm an IPA guy, and their stand up nicely with some of the best. But to me, the real stand outs were their fruit beers. Their mango and their pineapple coconut IPAs were perfection. Just the right amount of fruit to be clearly present, with a strong malt and hop backbone. Nice job. Look, I'm a beer snob. I've been lucky enough to try some of the very best. For Belching Beaver can keep this up, they are destined for great things. I loved this place. The ambiance is fun and chill, love the inside as well as the firepits. They have live music sometimes and it has always been a pleasant surprise. The food is pretty good. This is one of the only breweries that offer a full bar, which is awesome. The service used to be okay, but the last 3 times I went have been awful. Was treated with disrespect and ignored. The servers act like they own the place, honestly. The bartenders are nicer but still not welcoming or act like they want to help you/be there. Last time I had bad service with some friends and they mentioned they had had bad experiences in the last couple months too. Not sure why this is as it has always been busy.. and the last few times I went it was slow. Turned off from going there :( hopefully it improves! read more
