Stopped by Colab Public House recently and it did not disappoint. Easily one of the best Old Fashioneds I've had in North County--perfectly balanced and smooth. The vibe here is always on point--laid back, good energy, and a great place to hang out. Really excited to see Mexico City Cuisine back too. Honestly, what a terrible experience. We are new to the area and decided to try this winery this past Friday, hoping we had found a place we could enjoy and return to. The wine was good, and the redheaded bartender was genuinely kind and pleasant. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. A woman with curly hair came storming over to her husband, screaming and cursing at him in front of everyone. Then, as if that wasn't enough, she turned her attention toward the couple he had been talking with and started yelling at them too. It completely destroyed the atmosphere. We came to a winery to enjoy some wine and relax--not sit through someone's loud, aggressive public argument. It was embarrassing, uncomfortable, and incredibly disruptive. I couldn't believe this was happening. What should have been a nice Friday evening turned into an extremely uncomfortable experience. Good wine and a nice bartender don't make up for an atmosphere like that. We are new to the area, and unfortunately, this was our first impression. We won't be back and definitely won't recommend this establishment. read more

We always feel good coming to Colab. The coming together of brews, wine, and cocktails makes it a perfect spot for a hangout were everyone can get their drink of choice. The service is always good and attentive, and it's great that they offer social options like bingo/trivia nights and live music. They once again have an in-house food service operated by Mexico City Cuisine. I tried thier street tacos with beans and Mexican White Garlic rice and it was delicious. The drinks and food are delicious but the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. We have been coming to bingo night for many months now, and the bingo guy kills the mood. He ruins the game by going around the room and taking number suggestions. Nothing about the game is random(which is the entire point). He makes the same uncomfortable jokes that he expects us to laugh at. It's also super hot in the building, not sure if their ac is broken but I have to bring my own fan. And I have to eat and drink less because I am so overheated. The only reason we come back is because the prizes are unique and we like the variety of drink options. But I'm finding it harder and harder to sit through this. I love to support this local business, but they need to hire a new bingo guy. read more

I come here every few months. It has changed quite a bit since the beginning. They've tried a few restaurant concepts that just haven't seemed to work out. Last I was there, they had a food truck which I much prefer over the restaurants. I also saw people bringing in their own food. They had a lot of beer and one wine selection, now they have beer, spirits and wine. It's much more balanced. They still have the arcade and games upstairs. They have a lot of live music which is great. They have bingo, charity events and a calendar full of activities for everyone. I've been here many time over the years and have never been disappointed by them. This most recent time was the first time in years and it was for a work holiday party. We actually had a previous holiday work party there a couple years ago and it was great then too. We were downstairs last time and upstairs this time. All the staff were great. I had a drink from each spot and everyone was so friendly. The guy at the wine place was all smiles and let me taste before I chose. The woman at the middle one made a great drink and was really nice. The brewery at the end was great too and they shared about when the burger place left. I hope colab stays in business. Really fun spot came here to to watch the super bowl They're really fun upstairs with arcade and games for kids. It is wheelchair accessible because I have a elevator for wheelchairs. The spot is basically a food hall but for alcohol. They had a food truck outside, It was Mexican the day that I went and it was not that good. But they allow you to Uber eats and doordash outside food. It is not table service So you have to get up every time and refill your drinks. Nice big screens to watch a game and the customer service was pretty good. Wasn't as loud as I thought it was going to be on the game day but it was a really nice time read more

Main seating area has couches, chairs, high and low tables, and a bar. You should be able to find something to meet your needs. Upstairs in the loft they have video and interactive games. Inside they have permanent vendors for wine, beer and spirits. They also have one Italian restaurant. They also host food trucks. Look for the calendar to determine what's going on daily. I like this lil spot cus there are several lil spots all in one. Last time we came here there was a burger spot that was fire af but they took forever to make my burger, like 30 mins lol. This time there was an Italian spot there and the pizza wasn't too bad. I have been meaning to come here for so long. We have driven past this over and over and finally made it out. It is in the same center that Indian Joe's used to be in, and the idea of a collaboration spot seemed like a fun idea. We came for Bingo night, because who doesn't like Bingo! We came right over after work, so we ended up grabbing some food here at the Italian place inside, and I don't feel any need to order from them again. The brewery area had a lot of great choices, including a few sours which is always a plus. While I did not check out the winery, I did grab a drink at the distillery which was very good. Overall, I had fun, I would say that most of the employees which I spoke to were kind of stand offish, not sure if there was anything that would make me feel the need to go back unless specifically meeting some friends here. read more

We loved the variety and friendly service!!! We started with some delicious brewery beers. My husband got a hazy and I got a brown ale. They were both delicious! I then got a margarita at the cocktail section and it was pretty good. A little light on tequila haha Lastly, we got a bottle of wine at the winery. She accidentally poured me a glass instead of bottle but let me keep it. She also gave me a wine Jell-O shot which is bizarre, but somehow works! She was so sweet! We went to the pizza place and the pizza was decent. I got the fettuccini Alfredo which was wonderful. My mom got the arancini and though they were great. This place is really cute. The downstairs has a wine bar, a hard liquor bar, a kombucha bar, and a beer bar. There is also a pizza shop that opens at 4 PM. Upstairs is a cute little arcade with a couple of games to play and some claw activities. Lots of seating all around! There is also an outside area in the back, which is really fun that has darts, Jenga, and a large connect for. You can also reserve 24 hours in advance to do the hatchet throwing. Sometimes there are food trucks there when we were there. There was a taco truck and it was really great Carne Asada fries! If you don't love pizza, make sure to check ahead of time to see if they're gonna be any food trucks there because the pizza is the only option inside. read more

This space has Propaganda winery, 2 other breweries, 117 spirits for some cocktails and Olive Branch, which is the restaurant that replaced Baby's burgers. Yes sad to see it go. olive branch focuses on making flatbreads, fish n chip and wings. I haven't had it yet except the fried fish it served at the propaganda party today and it was delicious. So many times I've seen this place off the freeway near Vista and I'm glad I finally got the chance to come out here. With a mini arcade on the second floor and plenty of good Bar and Grill style seating, Colab's seemed like a fun place to bring the family for a night out. And it was, for the most part... We came on a weeknight, not too busy, and took the stairs to the gaming area after ordering. With a few board games and a larger version of Jenga alongside a couple of pinball machines and two upright multi-consoles (with Altered Beast and Marvel vs. Capcom), it was well stocked for entertainment. All of us enjoyed a couple of games before our food was ready. The wife and I split The Original Beauty, a huge, half-pound patty with Swiss Cheese and Sautéed Onions and Mushrooms. Most times when getting a burger at a new place, I look forward to a nice blending of ingredients or trying something crazy and new. A Swiss mushroom burger should be overflowing with grilled mushrooms, brimming with that warm, umami flavor, and held together with that gooey cheese. Here, however, the sheer size of the patty overwhelms all other flavors and textures. You couldn't taste any of the toppings, if you closed your eyes, you wouldn't think there was anything else except for the beef. The meat itself was alright, seasoned well enough, but when you order a specialty burger, you expect at least some of those other flavors to come through. As bizarre as it is to say, this burger would have been so much better if the there was only 1/4lb patty in there instead of the half pound there was. As a side note, we put the burger sauce on the side, making it VERY dry. Trust me, the burgers here need that sauce. The Sweet Potato Fries, on the other hand, were pretty top notch. So were the regular fries I stole from elsewhere on the table. The side of ranch was a different story as my wife turned her nose up at it, thinking that it tasted like it came out of a room temperate can. My son had the Side of Buffalo Wings, which he ate completely and without complaint. While he did like them, though, he did note that they weren't as good as mine. The daughter unit (as my father would say), had the Kiddos' Menu Chicken Lil's. She had her fill of the fries, but completely ignored the chicken strips; which was a shame because I found them to be the best thing on the table. Well seasoned, nicely breaded, and fried to flakey perfection, I had one and a half of them to help cover up the mild shame from that burger. In the end, a nice place nearby with games, clean seating, fun, and alright food. I'd like to come back a few times to see if the other burgers on the menu fare better than the first. If the style holds true, it may serve Colab to halve the amount of beef they use to spare the other flavors and save themselves and their customers on cost. read more

This is a very cool spot. Kid-friendly, too. It's a "colab-boration" of several different business, get it? There's a burger joint (Baby's, really good burgers, among other things), at least three micro-breweries, and a wine bar. It's a huge space with two levels. The decor is very cool. There's an arcade on the second floor with about 6 or 7 games. The games aren't cheap but they're fun. I didn't absolutely love my beers but they were decent and, because there are three breweries, there are a ton of options (and not all of them are IPAs, yay!). The glass wine I tried was delicious but on the pricey side. Baby's serves a number of excellent burgers but they also have chicken sandwiches, wings, pizzas, salads, fries, etc. They definitely have more options than just burgers. There are a lot of TVs for game watching and they frequently hold events. Plenty of free parking in the lot and they have some outside seating, too. Very casual, fun spot. Cheers! read more

We used to LOVE coming to CoLab because our kids love the games upstairs and the vibe is fun. The atmosphere is still great, don't get me wrong, but the Italian food spot isn't very good and everything from the pitcher to the pizza seemed WAY too expensive for what you get. Beer tasted great, so no complaints there but we probably won't go back until they get a new restaurant in there. read more

Formerly Indian Joe's brewery, Colab is a good use of the space and a smart way for several small businesses to get into a brick and mortar. The shared space consists of: - 2 Breweries (each with a good variety of styles including beers, seltzers, sours and meads) - 1 Winery - 1 Spirits company (coming soon) - 1 Burger/Fries/Flatbread restaurant - Lots of indoor seating and a good amount of outdoor seating - Arcade games up top - Ample parking Overall it's a fun place to go have a few drinks and sample some new varieties. It could probably benefit from a second food option in the future but it works for now. I'd go back. read more
