Pulled this place up from Yelp thank you very much!! Totally faithful! Had great recommendations and with due reasons. The selection of beers were wonderful although I went with the margarita and it was quite tasty. My husband said his light Mexican beer scores a home run. The young lady that waited on us was a total delight . Cordial and respectful knew the menu and really helpful. We actually split a burger that was cooked perfectly well done with bacon a little bit of barbecue and a onion ring on top. Belching Beaver has a really awesome selection of beers. It's been a couple months since we visited so I don't remember specifics (sorry) and besides I'm the DD so I usually just get a couple tasters. I just remember that EVERYTHING was good. I love the beer here! But can no longer go anymore. The parents lets their children treat the outdoor space like a jungle gym. Kids running on tables, kids swinging off gates, kids screaming, kids throwing rocks, kids burning paper in the fire pits, and generally running wild. With an indifferent staff. Although I have enjoyed a beer or two here, and although mimicry is the best form of flattery, it seems like more often than not there are a few beers that I notice they have "copied" from other breweries. Case in point, "Good morning beautiful", seems to remind me quite a lot of a beer that a brewery down the street has been brewing for over 11 years. I get it, sometimes you just come upon a beer you enjoy and try to mimic it, but when it's almost copy and paste of a brewery that's down the street from you.. questionable, questionable... Not what I was expecting in terms of ordering at a counter (I thought it was a sit-down waitress comes to you type of place) but it worked out nicely in the long run. Food was decent. Staff was very friendly. I also didn't realize the bar was only beer and wine so that was a bummer for me since I drink vodka. All that I would still give it 5 stars. However, I deducted 1 star because the table by the pool table was literally right in front of the electrical panel and a portion of it was exposed. The place was super busy so this was the only available table to sit at while we enjoyed our meal (which was actually really good bar food!). We were just passing through town and decided to stop in to try it out. If I lived nearby I would probably visit this place on occasion. read more

Oh boy! I've been drinking their stouts for a while now so when I had a business conference close by - of course I had to stop in to check them out. It's a smaller brewery than I imagined (I have a big imagination") but it had all the nice attributes of a local brewery. The team working was great but the customers made the experience. Decent food and a really fun atmosphere! I'd like to stop back in when down in San Diego/Carlsbad area but honestly - the area is packed with breweries and I'd like to check them all out! Oh, I've been loving the Beaver. I mean, really loving that Beaver. Have been for years. & then there's this. Take what was 1 of my favorite places to get a beer, shine it up, & add delicious pub grub at very nice prices... swoon. Oh, Belching Beaver, you already had me at Phantom Bride. I remember when this was a very industrial brewery. But now with Pub980. & the food. I've liked everything I've tried so far from their kitchen parked inside a cool looking trailer behind the bar. Ahh. I love to love everything about Belching Beaver. Their other locations, their food, the beer and seltzers , but my latest trip to this site was a HUGE disappointment. Some may beat me up for this review - because - covid-time, but I just can't get over it. Covid doesn't have to equal bad service. The beer selection, although large, missed the mark for us. There isn't something for everyone at this site, and the server acknowledged it. I suggest you check their tap menu before agreeing with friends to go there. Here goes the rest.... The Great - This place is spaced well enough for one to feel safe during these crazy times of covid. The Good - I really like that they have their updated tap list online. The menu board is small, but you can look at your phone to see what you want! The Bad & The Ugly - The service. Because times are different and one is ordering at the table, it would be thoughtful for the staff seems to assume everyone knows this. When ordering drinks, I wasn't sure if the server was listening. In fact most staff seemed disinterested in the folks they were serving. After dinner we actually ordered more drinks and never got them so we cut our ties and left. I know places are just coming back and finding their groove. But I can't get over that fact that I should feel appreciated as a paying customer. I'm not looking for a glitter party when I walk in and sit down, but I wouldn't mind someone checking in to see if our party is good or if we need anything. As I started this review, I said I love to love Belching Beaver. I honestly cannot wait to update this review in a more positive light. This is a great brewery! I've always had their beers in the bottles from grocery stores but I'm so glad I finally stopped by and tried their beers on tap! It's located in a business park like other reviewers have said, but there's some signs along the way so you can figure out where it is! The beers are pretty good! I think their stouts are my favorites (and you really can't go wrong!) but a surprising beer was the fall of Troy - it's a super yummy orange vanilla milkshake ipa and it's super drinkable. It's not too hoppy so a very approachable ipa if you're not normally into them! Plus the flavor is just perfect - exactly what it sounds like and it'd be such a good summer beer. The ambiance is really cool - it's very well decorated and definitely doesn't feel like a warehouse on the inside! The staff was ok - neither of the guys I interacted was amazing (one didn't seem like he wanted to be there and the other gave me the wrong tab). read more

I went here on a Friday night. We ordered food and beer. First, if you've never had any of Belching Beaver beers, you're missing out. There's a wide variety, and all of the ones I had were great. The classic burger and shrimp tacos were delicious and prepared perfectly. It still is a brewery, not a restaurant, so food comes out of a pickup window, and they have a text message alert when it's ready. The bartenders were very nice and offer small tastings before you commit, which is very nice. The manager, Robert, was running around like crazy, but he still managed to chat for a minute and tell us about the place. There are fire pits outside, a pool table and a jukebox. You needn't bother with the jukebox though, because the music that night was totally 80's rock hits. Great beer, food, staff and ambiance, and they're pet friendly. When I went, I saw a painting class going on in their back room. While I didn't eat here, the food smelled and looked delicious! Next time, I'll come hungry. Ah, the Original Famous Belching Beaver Brewery located in the famed North county of San Diego. Home of the Peanut Butter Milk Stout. Although this has to be one of my favorite beers (I'm a big stout fan), they are so, so much more than that. About 2 years ago, my wife and I visited the Belching Beaver brewery and grill, but wasn't really impressed. This place? VERY IMPRESSED. The inside is GINORMOUS. The tables seemed to be made of nice lacquered wood. There are plenty of tables, bar seats 2 flat screens and a wall of vegetation. Who has a wall of vegetation in there warehouse? Food is served here as well. (We didn't get any food, but from the looks of it, we absolutely will the next go around!) On to the beers! As I stated before, I'm a big fan of stouts, so naturally, I order a flight with the Peanut Butter Stout, Mexican Chocolate Peanut Butter Milk Stout (another personal fave) and a couple of imperial stouts and IPA's that I forget about. I was not disappointed with any beer. My wife is partial to IPA's and loves the Deftones. Voila, a Deftones collabo beer with Belching Beaver. Don't miss out on this place. There's something about pub food that taste so good. I ordered the southwest pulled pork salad. It tastes like more south of the border. The pulled pork was drier like carnitas and the chopped tomato had a pico de gallo taste to it but it tasted good. The fries were flavorful. I wish I had beer. read more

When I tell you this is probably one of the best burgers I have had in a minute....believe me because I eat burgers all the time I ordered the beyond patty on the buenos burger and it was literally a party on my taste buds. I also ordered the BlackBerry Raspberry hard seltzer (cause I'm basic) but I wasn't a fan. It had too much of a vinegary taste to it for my liking. I plan to go back and try to take some brews to go. Honestly I used to love this place. I still absolutely love the food but the service was terrible ! I have been in the industry for over 20 years and I've never had that bad of service. There was maybe 5 tables so not busy for the amount of staff. We were not only ignored the entire time but our waitress just up and sat at the bar and ate. Didn't check if we needed anything nor even tell us hey I'm on break... nothing. While she was gone not one of the two servers asked if we needing something and our beers were empty. Our original server ended up coming back and not even washing her hands. We were like oh we thought you were off? She just smirked and blinked. There was also a rude guy there with his dog. He made us extremely uncomfortable. He brought a ball for his dog and was shocked that our dog was getting excited ?!? Uhh dogs like balls, yes they are going to get excited and then sad they can't play. We ended up having to go get our dog a ball so she wouldn't give any attention to the "service dog". It was clearly our servers boyfriend because she sat with him on her "break" . Weird special attention for the boyfriend and his dog ran at ours because the ball got away from him and he want holding his leash. I guess he is allowed to do what he wants with a fake service dog. We had a terrible experience we just had to leave. I have NEVER not tipped a server. I'm Thankful for the cooks and wish I could have tipped them but the servers need some serious training. Just updating this because we just, per Bethany's rec, tried the beef quesobirairro (ah man sorry about the spelling butchery) and oh man it is like a decadent taco take on the French dip- Rich beefy broth with spice, cilantro and onions (think Lourdes chicken soup but with beef broth) and 3 tender beef and melted cheese tacos- not sure if you were supposed to dip the tacos (I could've had a mug of the broth/soup itself) but what an amazing combo! The taco shell absorbed the delicious complex broth with a squeeze of lime to cut through the richness. Come on Fri, Sat and Sun to try this dish! What a hidden little gem. Although this is a microbrewery (I think(, I am pretty much a nondrinker. I had one of their Chicago Hot Dogs and a fresh made pretzel. Just a great hot dog on a fresh toasted bun. I also bought one for a friend who disliked Chicago Dogs until he had one from here. Pretzel was the authentic dark brown German type with brown mustard. Belching Beaver is one of my favorite breweries to visit when in the San Diego area. They have completely renovated the Vista location, which now features more tables and an outdoor/camping theme. I mix it up each visit; sometimes IPAs, sometimes sours. Today I enjoyed a pint of Smoldering Pirates (passionfruit sour). Great environment and usually has a food truck of some sort serving food. If your first time visiting, they are well known for their Peanut Butter milk stout (dark stout that tastes like peanut butter cups). I recommend the beaver milk on nitro and the phantom bride as well. read more
