We are on an RV trip and my glasses broke. After multiple hassles which I will describe below I called Belk Eye Clinic and tried to schedule an eye appointment. The person said there were no appointments available that day but when I explained the situation she said to bring the glasses in they would figure out a way to fix them. I went in and sure enough they fixed the glasses (that I was sure were unfixable ). Not only that but they recommended a store to go to to pick up some things. The folks there were friendly and unbelievably helpful. Now the hassles part of the story I needed glasses in the next day because we were heading out to our next destination that was in Texas in the middle of nowhere. I called the "one hour" glasses place and they couldn't use my current lenses to make new glasses (state law) and I needed to get a prescription. I called my existing Opthamologist (his practice was recently bought out by a mega ophthalmologist company) and after multiple hassles and false starts they sent the prescription. I then called the "one hour" place and they said they couldn't use the prescription since it was over a year old (state law - who knew Mississippi the home of small government had so many laws). I was frantically trying to find an eye clinic that had an available spot during the holiday season. I could not find anyone, until I called Belk Eye Clinic, they had many openings. The staff was so nice. During my exam, the pictures they took of my eyes, actually alerted them to a health issue I have, and I did not even know. I went to an emergency clinic and they did confirm what the eye doctor had told me. So, I am very thankful. They use state of the art equipment. The entire staff I met was extremely courteous and eager to help and answer any questions. Roncia the optical manager went above and beyond my expectations, where she could have made a two pair of eye glass sale the same day; instead she ordered a few frames she thought I might like better so I can return and see them prior to making a final decision/purchase. My experience on the medical side was fantastic. The office personnel, the assistant, and the doctor were all nice, courteous, and very knowledgeable. Then we went to get our glasses. My husband had one person and I had another. The person I had acted as if the questions I asked were bothersome to her and when I did not understand the explanation she got irritated. She also seemed more concerned with me getting extras then what I actually needed. Did not like that at all. So I highly recommend the medical side, but be very careful when ordering glasses. Only get what you need and can afford. Don't be pressured in getting something you would like but really don't need. read more

Dr. Belk and his staff are helpful and friendly. They have the most update equipment to check your eyes even to the point of taking pictures of the back of your eyes with no drops to bother your vision. Very prompt in my appointment no waiting time. I am very impressed with their office. read more

Horribly rude staff. The doctor then not only sent my husband home, but sent him home for two weeks with a possible retinal tear.

I have been seeing Dr Belk since he began his practice @ 20 years ago. He also treated my daughter and son. My daughter had lasik surgery and the Lasik Clinic in Ocean Springs said it was okay when she asked for Dr Belk to do her after surgery treatment. They examined her and said Dr Belk did a fine job. Now I take my grandson to him-his eyes are good. I am developing cataracts and Dr Belk keeps me well informed with the photos and his clear explanations. His staff has been there for some time and that s nice when you go in and they recognize you. read more

My experience was HORRIBLE! This was my daughter's first eye exam and the physician was very mean and rude to her. We made this appointment because she failed her eye exam for the first time in 11 years at her yearly well check up. This visit was not a "my daughter says she wants glasses visit"! The nurse's were very nice and understanding but upon his(Dr. Belk's) exam he called my daughter a liar and stated she was reading the alphabet lines wrong on PURPOSE just so she could get glasses. She is having trouble seeing up close as well as far away which includes the chalk board at school, her teachers have also stated she is having trouble seeing and he, as a physician, DID NOT take my child or her eye care seriously. I would not recommend any one take your child to see this physician because if your child is seriously having trouble seeing he will not take them seriously. He really hurt my daughter's feelings which is what really has me so angry. Two of my coworkers recommended me go see this physician but I will be spreading the word on how he treated my daughter and how he does not take his scope of practice seriously AT ALL!!! read more
