I can tell you that if I knew anything about this mall beforehand, my parking situation would have been different. I parked near the end that hold Target and Old Navy, neither of which stores I visited. I went inside to walk through the mall to see what they had to offer. To sum it up quickly, not much. Like many malls, this one was dwindling in open storefronts. In fact, this mall is attempting to transition with the stores being able to have entrances both into the mall, but to the outside as well. Which can, in my opinion, be a factor of less and less stores inside. If I do not need to go into the mall to enter Five Below, then I don't intend on going into the mall after visiting that store. As for the parking situation, I ended up stopping into several stores on my walk to the end of the mall but didn't buy a single thing until the last store I entered at the other end. Buying pillows and having to carry them through the mall is not fun, also kind of hinders you from stopping anywhere else on your long walk back. I really do hope that this mall bounces back enough. Enough to have the community come back. I mean, there is a university in town and malls used to be convenient places to shop for items. I want to point out the two reviewers that obviously had a plan this year to create accounts to only give this mall a five star review to boost it. Ok Sharon and Belinda, any more obvious one might think you work for the mall and are just attempting to draw people into the mall.

I did my initial once over of the housewares section. Wasn't expecting to find much here but was pleasantly surprised when I came across not one, but two items I had been looking for. Of course they were at decent, reasonable prices. Items I had been looking for for a minute, but didn't want to spend that much for. Grabbed those and then went to go look at the clothing. Having narrowed down what I was looking for shirt wise it wasn't hard to spot the brands I had just snagged without having to try them on. Found three more shirts here and made my way to the gauntlet. I made it through there without being tempted to grab an item that was not needed. The girl working the register looked like she had already seen enough for the day and it wasn't even noon. She was pleasant to me and swear she gave me the biggest bag possible, which was appreciated since I did by some big baking pans.

It took me probably over a minute just to get a "no" interjected into her spiel. It completely put me off the shopping experience. So the price on an item was less than the one that came from corporate. I asked for a manager and the manager said there weren't any more there but the price was the one from corporate. This doesn't seem to be fair considering if I went to another register there wouldn't have been any issue about the item and would have gotten it for the price that it scanned up. I don't think this is right of Gabe's especially when I spent a lot of money on this visit. I am seriously considering returning all of what I purchased and not give them any of my money in the future for this type of customer service.

Walking in, it was almost what I expected to see from a Ross. Disarray everywhere you looked. I went to the houseware section to take a quick peak, no luck. I went to the men's section and to look for both socks and shirts. It's hard to find cotton socks here or at competitors like this. The shirts, were really lacking. A lot of regular old shirts, but nothing in the line of long-sleeved dress shirts. I had to make sure to watch where I stepped in here as there were items and hangers on the floor. It was too much for me and I made a quick exit.

Workplace Culture Established cliques among long-term employees compete for preferred positions and shifts. The environment feels exclusionary and politically charged rather than collaborative. Operational Challenges The store is chronically understaffed, leading to: - Long customer wait times and frustrated, sometimes hostile customers - Frequent employee call-outs and no-shows - Those who show up consistently shoulder disproportionate workloads - High turnover - some employees quit without notice My Experience I tried nearly all entry-level positions and demonstrated capability for advancement, but the toxic management style and poor treatment of staff made staying untenable. I am happy that I left as I hear that things are still the same or worse. Final Thoughts I can no longer support this business as a customer, despite having been a regular shopper for years. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect in their workplace. Unfortunately, this appears to be a systemic issue across many Ross locations (also experienced working in another Ross store in another state with similar issues), not just this one. It's truly disappointing when a company's internal culture contradicts the positive shopping experience it tries to provide customers. So do not believe their posters. These are just words.
