So I bought a set of tires at Costco for my vehicle about a year ago and of course they come with free rotation and balancing for the life of the tire. I recently made an appointment via there app that morning to take it in and get them rotated while I shopped. About 30 minutes into it I get a phone call from the tire center tech telling me he can't get the front left tire off it the lug nuts on the wheels appear to be seized up. Says it's most likely cross threaded or over torqued I need to take it too a full service shop and have it looked at. So, I finish shopping while stewing mad thinking my normal mechanic screwed something up. I pay for my items go in the tire center to pick up my truck keys and hear the explanation again. All why standing there is a woman who is also waiting in line behind me. The tire guy comes up and tells her the same story. To this point I start to get a little skeptical thinking hmm.. is this lug nut seize up day or something. His words... "Ma'am you need to take your car to a full service shop we can't take them off if we do they'll break and it will have to be towed." So anyway I go home still thinking of this whole ordeal and thinking who is in the wrong. Finally after arriving home I put my groceries away. Go down to look at the truck wheel tire situation and roll out a jack and some tools myself and take at look at the left front tire, take all 5 lug nuts off no issue. No lug nut was seized, they just didn't want to do their job, really disappointed. I ended up rotating them myself. I'll just buy them somewhere else next time or at least some place that will do their job like there paid to do. read more

Never again will I ever buy another membership to Costco. I came here today specifically to buy a prime rib roast for Christmas. Last year they cut the bones off the roast for me and tied them back on, no problem. This year I was informed by the department manager that they weren't allowed to cut the bones off of the rib roast, nor did they have any twine to tie them back on with. That was a straight up lie. They had other rib roast that were marinated bones, cut off and tied back on that were packed on this very day. I have never been more disgusted in my life. I can tolerate the crowds, the rude people and the lack of parking, but I will not tolerate someone straight up lying to my face. read more

The WORST experience ever so my husband and I canceled our membership. We were Christmas shopping and went to checkout. my husband was pushing the cart up to the register while I handed the cashier my membership card to get started. When my husband stepped up to pay the cashier immediately asked if he was a member to which he replied "Yes" and I responded by saying he's my husband and we're on the same account. She refused his payment because she said I had to pay since she used my membership card. LIKE WTF!!!! Seriously COSTCO, you can shove your membership where the sun doesn't shine. read more

This, like all other Costcos, is my happy place. And I dare say... this Costco is actually my happier place. I'm not quite sure what it is... -A better planned out parking lot? -A less enthusiastic local fandom? -The time of day that I went? But this Costco suffers from none of the annoyances that I deal with at my local Costco in Gaithersburg MD. First off... *It's easy to park, and I didn't have to walk a mile from my parking space *The gas station didn't have a line around the block like the Costco gas in Beltsville *The lines at the register were almost non existent *And I could make my way through the aisles without feeling like I was in two hundred people's ways I'm assuming that this is just location, but man was this a top notch Costco experience. Also, the staff there was very friendly. I asked the meat guy about the briskets there and he was happy to point out all the options. I was trying to find protein drinks and the Costco worker showed me some real southern hospitality. Man... if I was in Harrisonburg I'd be at this Costco so frequently, I guarantee you they'd all know my name lol. It'd be like my "Cheers" Except I'd be buying fish, flowers, and eggs at ridiculously low prices. Hats off to the Costco in Harrisonburg VA. Good job! read more

I hade it when you buy ground beef that looks great on the outside but is brown as hell on the inside. We bought a 6.36 lb. pack on Wednesday April 24 only to find out that it was mostly old hamburger surrounded by a thin layer of fresher burger. read more

We were struggling with the tire inflation pump and did not realize our tires were severely deflated. Pat at the Tire Center was extremely helpful! He filled them up for us and explained what everything meant for future reference. He was a great employee and such a big help!!! read more

I am an organic vegetarian and I wanted to buy some organic vegetarian food. Unfortunately, this Costco has less of it than other Costcos. For instance, they have almonds, cashews and almond butter, but not the organic variety. I was surprised to see two items. First, they sell sprouted organic pumpkin seeds that I like. In fact, a 22 ounce bag was about $8 and a 14 ounce bag is about $13 at Whole Foods. I have never seen those at Costco. Also, they sell organic noodles and I bought those in Hawaii until they ran out and stopped carrying them. I was stoked that they had Amy's organic soup. The local Walmart sells it for about 25% more. Costcos sell green tea bags in bulk and there is an organic and conventional variety from the same company. Sometimes they sell the organic ones, but they always sell the conventional ones. This store did not have the organic ones. I actually ate a sample! I stopped eating samples when I went organic because they are usually not organic or they have ingredients I do not like. A nice lady was giving people organic, unadulterated avocado on organic bread (Dave's Killer Bread). It was good, but I passed because I anticipated buying organic avocados. Checkout was easy. An employee was at self-checkout assisting people for some reason and she did it. I would not mind returning to this location, but I would prefer it if they sold more healthy organic food, so I do not have to get it elsewhere and pay more money for it. read more

It started off as a causal Monday afternoon. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, it was honestly a beautiful day. My roommates and I were strolling through the isles trying to find food to fill us up for the next two weeks. My roommate Amanda really enjoyed the beef jerky free sample almost too much because she went back for seconds, but that's besides the point. We came across a stellar deal. Wine for $7. "Let's get it" uttered my roommate Olivia. I'm obviously in. We soon arrive at the checkout line. Amanda gives her ID and informs the lady helping us that she is buying the wine. (She is 21) She informs Amanda that she cannot buy the wine because Olivia is not of legal age. Interesting. We are puzzled but remain calm and collected. We then pay for our groceries and the lady (Julie I believe) makes a slick comment about us trying to buy alcohol underage. First of all ma'am, you are definitely the life of the party. And second, I can go buy alcohol anywhere else and won't get carded. Don't play with me. I stand up for my roommate Amanda because she is literally 21 and Julie was accusing her of trying to do something illegal, which Amanda would never do! She is a good citizen. Anyways, we make our way to Walmart right after and get what we needed to get. While also managing to steal a nice pumped Spaulding basketball as well! I had ordered tires online through Costco and while driving my father to a doctor's appointment, he stated I had bought the factory original which would not be the tire for me. He said, "Let's go by Costco after my appointment." We did, we found Zach M in the parking lot helping another customer. I asked if he could help me with changing my online order; he said no problem. He walked me through my options and helped pick the best tire for my Rubicon Jeep which I only drive on roads, no off road 4 wheeling. He gave me the best tire for my requirements which were great tires to support my Jeep without lots of noise and jiggling. We got the exchange done. A few days later, he called to schedule and I met David R to assist with installing my 5 new tires. He was patient while I asked questions after the install about 4 wheel drive and road conditions with the new tires. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND COSTCO HARRISONBURG VA FOR TIRES! I was treated well and given options and asked questions as to my driving habits. I am so glad my dad asked me to go and exchange my tires! I would have had mud tires that were noisy and bumpy as hell for the next 5+ years. Now I can take my dad to appointments with a smooth ride and still have great tires! Very diverse and rotation selection of items, seriously in bulk or otherwise. The bakery at this location is also seriously on point. The food court is also very fast here, so you can pick up some pizza or a chicken bake without too much of a wait. The gas station (also members only) is consistently around 10 cents cheaper than the stations nearby. Gas alone can make the membership pay for itself if you do a lot of driving. read more

Costco keeps the costs low! Very convenient for all the college students in Harrisburg. They're known for selling products in huge bulks and packages at a very fair price. I'd even go far as to say bargain sometimes! I always get my toilet paper, fruits/vegetables, and paper towels from here. OH...and spam...what's college without spam? They have a lot of food stands with free samples to promote a particular product to their consumers. They also have their own food court. Definitely try out their pizza. It's very cheesy unlike any other pizza chains. Surprisingly, they use cardboard boxes to store your groceries instead of using plastic bags. Gas station available exclusively to Costco members that's cheaper than all the other gas stations, but it's not significantly cheaper. Parking lot is spacious! I go to this Costco a lot as I live in Harrisonburg and all of the workers are very kind, but one of the Managers is incredibly rude. He is a bald short man of African Decent who wears glasses and on the day I encountered him I was pushing two carts full of 25 water cases. I was in the line and usually they preform line control so I naturally assumed they were doing that today as it was pretty busy inside. The manager comes up and he asks me which line i'm going into to which I reply "oh i'm not sure no one told me so I didn't wanna assume." I work retail as well and my job also does line control so I didn't wanna be one of those guests who cuts in line or disobeys the worker. Anyway after I said that he gave me a snotty attitude and was like "Well I know your programmed to be told what to do constantly but you can choose ur line today." The choice of words was just very odd and I felt like he was treating me less than human. Other than that the cashiers and food service are very kind. read more

Yes, we drove from C'ville. Judge us all you want, but we are HUGE Costco fans! This location was great - busy, but not "OMG I CANNOT HANDLE THIS" chaos like NoVa's Costco can tend to be, and the product offerings are more in line with the lifestyle, i.e. more outdoorsy and DIY kind of stuff in the non-food area. There were also awesome samples (artisan bread, dried cherries were my faves!) that didn't have huge crowds around them! Score! My only caveat was that there was just one person working at the food court thingy - I just wanted to get a churro and the poor girl in there was alone, with a huge line. Maybe it was just a fluke, but maybe they should hire a few more people!! =) read more

There's a Costco in this fairly small town, right near hotels and James Madison University. I was SO EXCITED! They have gas pumps, too, so we headed over to fill up our hotel room fridge and our rental car's tank. Score! It's not a huge Costco, but it has pretty much everything, including a good selection of wines and a food court. If you're not yet a member, check with the information desk for details. Costco now takes VISA cards instead of AMEX, and it doesn't have to be the VISA they offer. read more

I love costco. Thank goodness I have a membership. Free samples friday and saturday during lunch hours. I go for lunch at the food court sometimes. Or even dinner when I'm studying at the library at JMU. Like any costco you go, you show your card to go in. They are strict about it and if you have a backpack you should leave it near the exit and ask for the worker to keep an eye on it. They did a bag check on me when I went after classes with my backpack. So I left it next to my bike and asked the employee to look over it. Over time, the employees recognized me and was more friendly. It's inconvenient not having a place to store your bike here. There were some items that I really liked that got discontinued like ricotta, sunflower seed and almond butter by maranatha. I would recommend getting a shopping list written before coming here. You're going to get distracted and buy things you don't need or forget to buy something you need. Try to go after 7 pm on weekdays. You'll avoid the long lines. Beware of the times when schools begin. People will rush in and the lines are terrible. I like this place. The staff is efficient and quick about checking out. read more

I love shopping here at Costco and have to for the great prices, but now I dont know about shopping there. I had brought my stuff home in the boxes that they offer to you and today we had found larve/maggot things crawling all over the first floor of our house that originated from that box. I had called to make a complaint and they didnt offer anything to make up for the problem they just said thank you for letting us know and we will check on it here at the store. Of all of the Costco's I have ever been to this one is the least crowded, has the best deli food, and the service is superb. The people here ask you if you want a sample when you are walking by and are happy to give it to you unlike other Costco's I have been to. Great prices as per usual for Costco.
