Never use these movers! It all seems fine until there is an issue. They love to send long email responses when items are missing and have you complete paperwork. Then they tell you in many ways. (Happy to show the emails), how the issues are ultimately your fault. These movers took our items from our Anderson home and placed them in storage. When they bought the items to the home, we thought everthing is great. One of the workers hurt themselves which slowed things down. We were all happy he was not too hurt. Our home was a new build in Mt Adams so the moving process was difficult. The movers never handed either myslef or my husband any paperwork. We were never asked to check items off as they came off the truck. Some of the guys announced the name that was written on the box, and I directed them where to take it. Some did not, so I assumed they already knew. There were 2 large items that my husband and I had to disamble for them to take. One of the itmes required a plumber to help. (A cold plunge). I mention this as the moving company (per their email), accusses us as not paying attention to the move. The issue is our items are missing. My China that I have had for 27 years has only partially delivered and our cushions from our outdoor furniture set. Not here. I had to fill out a form and then go back and forth with many emails of how ultimatley this is our fault, we signed paperwork that said everything was delivered. This paperwork was given to us at the end of the move. We never had the opportunity to check anything off. Yes, my husband signed the papers and gave everyone a tip. It was a hot, long day. Never did we think our items were missing or if they were, we would get nothing but BS back from them. Just don't use them! read more

I was quoted 6.5 hours for a move and the job came in at 11.5 hours. Buyer beware of underbids. I could have completely understood an hour or two, but an additional 5 hours? The response from operations team was, "Unfortunately this is an art not a science." We have made 3 cross-country moves (2 of which we had not one issue) and this is by far the worst. Admittedly our move was complex. Bell moved us out of a condo in Mason, OH, stored our belongings for 4 years then shipped them to our house in California via Wheaton. Many items were lost or damaged. As instructed we filed a claim with Wheaton. Wheaton denied almost everything and said to talk with Bell. We contacted Bell. Bell denied almost everything and said we should go back to Wheaton. Both are saying their paperwork shows the damage/loss did not happen on their watch. I do not care who caused the damage/loss. I hired Bell who acted as agent for Wheaton. I would expect a consolidated resolution. Instead each company is hiding behind the other. We made the mistake of believing the Wheaton driver when he said he verified everything was there when he made the pickup in Cincinnati and that "nobody ever checks off all the boxes and furniture" at the destination. Our advice to all is ignore such representations. The companies will not stand behind this advice. We submitted the claim on May 12, 2020, it is now October 13, 3020 and we are still arguing over a resolution. read more

We were shocked to receive a bill for $1000.00 over what the estimate was for a move that was a total of 8 miles. It also took 2 weeks and a number of calls for them to return a valuable item they told us had been left on a truck for which it took them 2 weeks to find. In addition to this, we found one of the large containers which we had marked "Fragile - Glass" crushed with several items not only broken but literally smashed. Now that I am finally into my new home and out of storage; I would like to update my experience. Let me explain how these scammers inflate their charges. I have been unpacking now for about two weeks, and I am slowed down by the sheer amount of paper I have to throw away. Remember, the packers charge not by the hour but by the box - up to 40 dollars (that the "discounted rate" from 113 dollars) per "dishpack" box. Other types of boxes are cheaper, but, all are way overpriced. I have filled and thrown away approximately 30 large 40 gal trash bags worth of packing paper by now. They took extra care to paper wrap with great care my most fragile items such as cotton tshirts, plastic Tupperware and pencils. On top of this, they ruined my leather headboard. The one thing they didn't think to wrap. Also, by the way. The movers I had take me out of storage cost 450, compared to the 3000 that you quoted. You crooks. read more

Our movers from Bell - Dustin, James, Matthew and Jake were a quality team of professionals who knew how to take care of my stuff! We packed ourselves, but they ended up wrapping glass shelves, table tops and televisions to be extra certain that no breakage would happen. They navigated the doorways and basement stairs at both houses expertly, with appropriate caution. Most of all, they were pleasant to be around all day long, maintaining great attitudes about their very difficult and physical job. We did not see and have not seen any damage to our things. We would recommend this team from Bell highly! The only thing we saw as a negative was the way the Bell salesperson estimated- we wish they had built a little more time into the estimate to cover things like wrapping televisions, etc. The cost was overall reasonable, but the movers did go for 1.75 hours over the salesperson's estimate. read more

Well if I could give a -100 I would worst move ever! The military assigned this company our stuff. Where to start.... Lady at front office.. total ass B*tch!! Once we found out he broke it the sissy ass ran like hell and was hiding in the moving truck acting busy due to his ass was busted for damaging our stuff. That piece of furniture took 2 movers that was packing our house out no reason for him to touch it on his own.Then the ass who broke it was throwing boxes in rooms cause he had AirPods in and was to worried about dance and sing and make TikTok ( guarantee my house was on TikTok). His ass should be fired!!! Now let's talk about my fridge that now has a huge dent in it.... Yeap sure does!! All due to the movers!! We were told if they didn't have to unpack they would come back for boxes.... I got boxes piled high in garage they now REFUSE to come pick them up. Then a third party was to come open crates... never showed up and never have to this day (2 weeks later) I had to open the crates myself.. which means who's stuck with crates now? Yeap F'ing me cause they never showed up. Which means I have to hire someone to come pick this up to trash it for us. That's around $100.00 I have moved to many places and this was the top of the list awful move! Hell one old guy wouldn't shut up enough to even get boxes in house. Annoyed by a mover is the worst! We used Bell for our move to Florida - big mistake. The final cost was more than our estimate and we initially didn't know why because there was no itemized bill, but we had to pay to get our stuff. We had to call to get that final bill - they did not disclose on our estimate the additional charges for packing and UNpacking mattresses. Also charged for unpacking our TV which was not done. Only half the scheduled crew showed up to pack us up in Ohio, so it took 2 days rather than 1 and then of course, delayed getting to Florida causing us additional costs in lodging while waiting for them. Took and entire week to get here. The crew in Florida installed one headboard on backwards, and when told about it, they still didn't install it property requiring my husband to remove it entirely and fix it after they left. He also had to tighten up the master headboard, and they didn't attached the mirror to a dresser since they had misplaced the braces for it. Several items damaged. Complained to parent company (Wheaton) and locally, but no response. read more

I did not read any of the reviews prior to hiring Bell Moving and Storage thankfully because it may have deprived us of the best moving experience we have ever had. This was our first long distance move and nothing could have been better. Everything was on time from arrival at our house in Liberty Twp to arrival 1050 miles away. Movers were polite, professional, and treated our possessions and us with the greatest respect. Randy Mann deserves special kudos as the long distance driver with several decades experience. He was not only pleasant, professional, and friendly but also interesting and a wealth of knowledge. Our charge for services was exactly as quoted so I can't understand the issues reported by others. Also, we have hired movers many times previously and this is the first time that nothing was, broken, scratched, dented or harmed in any way We called Bell because a neighbor had just used them and they had the same kind of experience as we did. Beware! They did not show up on moving day! They are not the Bell Movers of the past. I thought they were a reputable and honest local Cincinnati company. Not any longer. Prepare for your packing charges to be far above the estimate. They sent 1 person to pack my entire house. And then on moving day they never showed up! My family patiently waited until 2 pm. We had to reschedule the move for 19 days later. And then they overcharged me by 1,040 lbs ($500+). Thank goodness I asked about the final weight when I received my bill. And I received no apology. I spoke with the president and he just gave excuses for how busy they are and how they would have found the weight discrepancy later. Really? After I paid the bill I would've received a refund? If you use Bell Movers be sure to have a backup moving day, prepare to pay far above your estimate, and go line by line through your bill. They would call and say they would show at a particular time. They kept me waiting for hours-literally,just to realize they only sent one guy to move an entire house. Do not use. Cannot express fully how disappointed I was with their service. I am just now ( 3 months later) receiving some of my furniture back from repair. They came to load a 3 story house with 2 people. Another person came by mid-afternoon. It took almost 13 hours to pack the truck- till 11 pm at night! They were in an accident that night and destroyed 3 pieces of solid oak furniture among a mound of other items. All oak furniture eventually repaired BUT not a speedy or easy process by any means. We are very pleased with the two gentlemen who moved our belongings. These gentlemen were extremely professional and took excellent care of goods as well as the house. In March of 2014, we contracted bell to move us from Cincinnati to Columbus. Since we were going to build in Columbus, everything went into a storage facility. To have some cash on hand, we went to the bank the day before. When the crew went to lunch, we decided to take a break also. Our cash was gone. We called the company and they were very good about it. The amount would be deducted from our invoice. The crew felt bad about what had happened and wrapped & taped some of our furniture in moving blankets that they said we could have. The storage facility in Columbus was packed amazingly well. You couldn't have gotten an extra pin in there. 8 months later we had another company empty the storage facility and move us into our new home. I removed Bell's blankets and tape from one section of my most prized possession: an 1880's cherry knock-down bookcase. We're only the second family to own it and we've loved it for 35 years. The Bell crew had pulled it apart! Not taken it apart, torn it apart, splintering the wood around one of the glass doors. The other door was pulled, not unscrewed, but torn from its hinges. I called the owner of the company. He dodged several phone calls. He never did call back, but I finally got through to him. He told me, "We don't know what happened to your bookcase after we moved it in to storage. Somebody could've climbed up over things or taken it out or damaged it." I completely get that. So, I suggested he check with his crew, whom he said had been with him for years. They'd tell him that it would've been impossible to climb through our stuff. He also told me that we didn't file any damage report back in March so it wasn't Bell's responsibility. I reminded him that the damaged doors were still wrapped and taped in Bell's blankets when we took them out of storage. Was I supposed to unbundle our furniture and inspect it and then rewrap it before it went into storage? Furthermore, when I discovered the damage, I hadn't unpacked all the pieces of the bookcase so I still had some that were wrapped in their blankets. I took photos of the damage; a photo of one of the remaining wrapped pieces and sent it to him. I was told I'd get a claim form to file. Instead of a claim form, we got a letter from Bell's office manager stating that since we "no exceptions were noted to indicate damage while your goods were in our possession" that they will assume no responsibility. I sent an email to the office manager saying that the owner had committed to sending us a claim form. No reply. Bell, in spite of photos showing how they wrapped my furniture and photos of the damage they did will take no responsibility. Essentially, they're implying that I took my bookcase, undid their wrapping, and instead of reassembling as I've done several times, tore it apart and lied to them about it. I have had the bookcase restored at my expense. Still nothing from Bell. They stole money from me. Tore apart my most prized possession. Refused to take responsibility. And in the process called me a liar. The measure of a company isn't how well they do things right as much as it is how well they do when things go wrong. DO NOT USE BELL!!! Wish I could assign a negative star rating. Extremely disappointed we made the very costly mistake of using Bell. Our final charges were hundreds of dollars over the initial estimate provided after an in-house, in-person assessment by salesman Chris Egan. We disputed charges, which were met with multiple excuses from very rude salesman. We were charged for a 3 hour gap in time when movers were gone to retrieve another truck located just 20minutes away. The moving crew left items in the home we were moving from, did not inform us, causing us to unexpectedly find on our own, then scramble to find a solution to remove on our own, and transport items on our own. So many issues with our move with Bell Moving & Storage that it is hard to even know where to start or what to put in this review....I really just want to tell you to run the other direction and save yourself the issues. Our "movers" showed up to move our entire home with no straps, no moving blankets and no dolly. When we asked if they could go back and get these items we were told that the companies policy was that they could not do so. We had 2 days to get all of our belongings out of the house and it we didn't allow them to get moving we would not get moved out by our deadline. This is where we made our 2nd biggest mistake. We should have insisted they come back prepared as we believed they should have been. Unfortunately we just took their word as we viewed them as the professionals that knew what they were doing. They assured us over and over that it was no big deal and the 3 of them would have no issues. Over the next 2 day move they damaged at least a dozens things in our home - all of which we documented with pictures and by calling the owner, Bill, directly. We followed the company's protocol in filing a report and even had the owner out to show him all of the damage in person. Months later and with SEVERAL phone calls made to Bill directly that went unanswered we finally got a call back. He let us know in a manner that only someone with his level of class could do that we were "scam artist" and were trying to "get money from him by defrauding his insurance company" that we had to provide a report to. He screamed - not yelled, but screamed - at me on the phone and called us all kinds of names. I literally could not even get a logical sentence out. He said that the only thing he was responsible to do was cover a percentage of the damage based on weight....funny, I thought he was denying that his company damaged anything? Weeks later we received a check for a couple hundred dollars. We decided not to continue to try and fight Bill and Bell Moving and Storage for the additional cost of the damages since we knew it would be a stressful and drawn out ordeal and we were never in it to get money. In addition I did not want to waste one more minute of my life dealing with this. I had just moved into a beautiful home and was so thrilled for our family and this issue had already tainted enough of that. All we ever wanted were our belongings fixed or replaced and we knew that would never happen after the last phone conversation with Bill. My husband runs a top real estate team in Cincinnati, is the President of the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce and sits on numerous boards with the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors and the Southern Ohio Association of Realtors. We felt that the best thing we could do to help save others the stress and loss we went through was for him to warn any clients (his team has helped hundreds of clients buy and sell homes just since our incident with Bell a little less than a year ago) and everyone that he knows in a professional capacity through all of those organizations. In the 12 times we have moved over the years we have never had a major issue or had a bad experience with a moving company - this was the first time we used Bell. We hope that word of mouth (which is a very powerful thing) and our reviews will save others from what we not only had to deal with but the loss of items in their homes as well. It was all very unnecessary and no one ever should expect or have to be treated in the manner that we were. I have read many reviews since that let me know we are not alone in the treatment we received from Bill and Bell Moving and Storage. It would be great if we were the last. Do yourself and your family a favor and find another moving company - I promise you will be better off for it. read more

MOVER BEWARE!!!! I rarely take the time to review companies, but with such dissatisfaction I feel it is my obligation to warn the public. On two different occasions I used Bell Moving to deliver a very important instrument, my grand piano. On the first occasion the piano arrived without the legs that hold it up. It took several days to finally receive the missing pieces and additional time to have it assembled. Due to another move, I needed to transfer the piano back to their storage facility. When the time came to move it again, only because it was in their facility, I secured their services to deliver it to Atlanta once again. This time, while they rememered the legs, they forgot the bolts that actually keep the legs on. Not only did they "forget" the bolts, but they lost them for good. As of now, 10 days later, the piano continues to be propped up against the wall of my home. The job was not only half done but to make mattes worse, customer service to remedy the situation has been poor. Their remedy was for ME to find the missing parts on my own, then find a company who would install and set up the piano (a service they were contracted and paid to deliver). I have not been called or check up on since. They were quick to cash my check - but horrific at doing their job. If I could give them a negative star I would. Bell Moving, you should be ashamed at not only your negligence, but also your poor customer service in not following up on your mistakes.
