***DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY***…read more I had an extremely negative experience with Affordable Movers and would strongly caution anyone considering hiring this company. I hired Affordable Movers for a local move on June 7, 2026, based on an estimate of approximately $2,070 for three movers, one truck, and seven hours of service, including furniture disassembly/reassembly and protective wrapping. Despite requesting a copy of my estimate multiple times before moving day, I was never provided one until after the move had already begun and my belongings were already being loaded onto the truck. The problems started immediately. The movers arrived late, initially with only two movers and a smaller truck than expected. A third mover and second truck arrived later. The movers brought no tools to perform the furniture disassembly services included in the estimate, and many of my belongings were not wrapped or protected as promised. Aside from a few rubber bands placed on some items, there was little effort made to protect my furniture and household items. As a result, many of my belongings sustained damage during the move. Two items were damaged beyond repair and can no longer be used. My daughter's vanity was completely destroyed during the loading process and was then placed behind other discarded items at my former residence, which appeared to be an attempt to prevent me from seeing the damage. Fortunately, I did discover it. Additionally, my dining sideboard was damaged to the point that it is no longer usable. Numerous other items and pieces of furniture also sustained various types of damage. After loading all of my belongings and transporting them to my new residence, I was informed that payment would be required before unloading. When I requested to speak with a manager regarding my concerns about the services provided, staffing issues, missing equipment, damage to my belongings, and the charges being claimed, the movers left with all of my possessions still on their trucks. What followed was one of the most stressful experiences I have ever had. I repeatedly contacted the company by phone and email requesting the amount due, payment instructions, and information about when my belongings would be returned. I was not provided with clear payment instructions despite multiple requests, and I was left without my furniture, work equipment, clothing, and personal belongings. I was literally sleeping on the floor in my new home because my belongings had not been delivered. I ultimately had to involve law enforcement due to the situation. Throughout this process, the company has continued to claim that I signed agreements and authorized certain terms; however, I never signed any documents related to these claims. In my opinion, this experience was deceptive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. The services promised did not match the services provided, my belongings were damaged, and the entire experience caused significant financial and emotional distress. I strongly encourage anyone considering this company to document everything, insist on receiving all estimates and agreements in writing before moving day, and proceed with extreme caution.

Mark led the team with Sam and Brian and they all did a great job. If we wanted help with furniture…read moreplacement they were so patient. They treated our stuff with care and listened to any special instructions that we gave them. They all were so pleasant to work with. The estimator did an amazing job, too. We called for a fast move and she met with us the same day. She was within 15 minutes of the actual hours. Mark did the math, adjusted the bill and made sure we were happy. Highly recommend, easy to work with.

We contracted with Economy Moving and storage to move us from Mason to Liberty Township. The owner…read moreAntonio came to our house to see what we had to move. He assured me the move would happen in 1 day with two trucks and 4 men. I requested an early start of 8 am as I knew it would be a long day. The movers arrived at 10 am. They called me on the way to our home and told me that the move would take 2 days. I eventually got a message to Antonio and he showed up at our move. He once again said he thought the move could be completed in 1 day as promised. Well it took until 7pm to load up the trucks. They ended up putting us up in a hotel that evening. They returned the next day to unload our load once again about 10 am. They took all day-Day2 to unload our stuff, leaving after 6 pm on DAY 2. The men moving the stuff did get our possessions to our new home in one piece. However the cost of the move ended up being $1000 more than the estimate I had been given. Had I known that the estimate for the move was bogus, I would have gotten someone else to move us. So buyer beware, don't believe their estimate.

Horrible experience. 100% would not recommend !!…read more They did not properly wrap my stuff and caused damage but didn't want to take responsibility for it after and tried to push liability. Took a huge L. Stay away unless you're ok with risking taking high risk for their negligence.

I experienced the worst move ever with this company. Also, they have refused, short of a lawsuit,…read moreto resolve the issues that resulted in my rating. We moved on March 9, 2022. During the move floors were unprotected and gouged and scratched and walls were also scratched and gouged. A 3 piece wall unit was ripped apart without the connecting bolts removed. In addition, 2 of the 6 glass doors were broken. A dryer and freezer were both damaged and the freezer stopped working. Parts were left anywhere. For example, 2 futons were taken apart. At the new house futon parts were found in the garage, some in the kitchen and others in the basement. Shelves to a bookcase were not found. Trash was left behind in our yard after they left. This is not a comprehensive list, just the major highlights. I filed a claim, and almost 4 months later here are the results. The damages to floors and walls cost over $1600 to fix. They offer $0 to repair. The bookcase cost $1100 30 years ago, and $7000 to replicate. They offer $850. The freezer reimbursement offer was $60. I elected $10,000 insurance, but you see the results of my claim submission. Here is Moving Ahead's last reply to me: If you still do not find our current offer to be acceptable, the next step would be to begin the arbitration procedure, as outlined in the documentation you have already received. If you have any questions regarding this process, I would be happy to assist in any way possible..
