Bella boutique is awesome. I go there atleast once a week and even started a consignment contract. The store its crammed with designer items. The store is predominately clothing, but still has a large selection of Nordstrom brand hand bags on the sales floor and they have a case of lv and gucci and bags on display behind the counter. My latest score was a black authentic ruffled moschino shoulder bag. Last week a sue Wong dress. I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about saying the staff is rude. I mean, that store gets busy and I've never felt a bad vibe. Dominique is great! She gave me store credit toward my moschino bag and took a vintage vinyl gucci bag of my hands I never used. What a fair experience!. And As for the bags behind the counter, these are the things I saw. AUTHENTIC mcm, hermes, chloe, dior, fendi, gucci,lv,chanel. The items behind the counter not only include bags, but belts jewelry and small accessories. Yesterday I stopped in to look at my consignment form, I have over 100 dollars with only a few things sold. It would be baffling to me that store who has an ever-changing inventory that has been around since I was in high school is selling wonky bags. Im sure all stores get that occasional bag, but there is no question in my mind that makes me think if it happened at Bella the owner or the staff wouldn't want to make things right. I'm not sure where to start with this place they have sold me two counterfeit items. I didn't know the first item was a fake when I bought the second one and i just now had my things authenticated to discover they are indeed fakes! I was so extremely disappointed about the whole thing when I first started buying what I thought was designer I was naive to what was real and fake. Now I have a fake Chanel bag and belt sitting in my closet from this store that assured me they were 100% authentic. From their past reviews and responses i don't think to other people I don't think I will he get a response or my money back which is shame because I love this store until now. ***BUYER BEWARE*** FAKE/KNOCK OFF ITEMS I purchased a Hermes scarf that the sales clerk assured by was authentic. She claimed that all items are professionally authenticated by a reputable source. Although I was hesitant to purchase because I have never seen Hermes make this particular scarf I purchased the item because the price was right and I was told that if I find that it isn't real my money will be refunded. The next week I took the scarf to the Hermes store at KOP. I was informed by the Hermes associate that the scarf was a knock off and that technically this should be reported to the proper authorities. I went back to Bella Boutique that evening and informed the associate who then had me discuss this with the owner. The owner said she would give me a store credit but would not refund my money. She wrote the refund on a piece of paper and said that if I lose the paper I would forfeit the refund. She said is good to purchase anything at the store at any time. I folded the paper and put in my wallet without even looking at the paper. I stopped in the other day to use my store credit. When I went to pay the associate told me the store credit was no longer valid as it had expired a few months ago. I told her I had no idea there was an expiration date and that I was told it was good at anytime. The owner came out and said technically the credit is expired but she would give me 50% of the credit but I had to use it today. So the owner knowingly sold me a knock off designer item. Refused to refund me for selling me an illegally made item. Then refused to honor store credit which she gave me for returning the fake item which she originally promised was authentic. Needless to say I will not be shopping at this store again. It is illegal to sell fake/knock off items. It is also very dishonest to promise authenticity when the item is not authentic. It is also not fair to the consumer to not refund them for an item that they were promised a refund for originally. Be careful when shopping at this store if you are interested in purchasing authentic designer merchandise. You may be purchasing a fake and the owner will lie about authentication and about their refund policy. Very dishonest store owner. Do not recommend shopping here. The owner never admits she's wrong. She tries to justify every little mistake her and her staff makes. She is not the least bit professional. Told me she had a lot of things going on... like that's my problem? My sister and i had lots of issues with this place. They have very poor communication skills and do not give their customers or consigners reassurance when needed. If they're in the wrong they like to flip script and make it your problem. They lie to save their own asses. The woman at the store told my sister i was very angry when i spoke with her. Who wouldn't be angry realizing they're getting ripped the fuck off? The store is a joke. So is the owner. Bad business. They twist their words. Was told i was going to get a text to confirm pricing on the 4 designer bags i consigned. We did discuss over the phone and agreed. But later i realized we misunderstood so contacting them via email twice they never responded. Never did i receive the text either. I then had to call the store and was told the best way to reach them is through Instagram or calling. They were closed when i called originally that's why i emailed and i don't use Instagram. They added a fake chain to my vintage Gucci bag and told me that's why it sold. They're money hungry as fuck. I've seen multiple reviews about them sell fake bags!!!!! SMH. I argued with the owner for 15 minutes over the phone to get my bags back. I now sold them online for their real worth! This place is a scam. For the bag that did sell i have all the screen shots. A great place if you like getting ripped off. This is one of those "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is" type places. After hearing that this consignment shop sold used luxury items at a good price, I figured I would check it out. I bought a LV wallet thinking I was getting a good deal. It even came with the original packaging. The wallet looked good but after about a month, the wallet started to fall apart. After doing some research on-line, it was clearly a counterfeit (although a pretty good one). Maybe I just got burned and their other items are legit, but I would proceed with caution. read more

I've given this place a couple chances, never with any luck. The shoe selection is pretty terrible, anything size 10 or 11 look like they came right off a hooker's foot. And like people have said before, the price points are high for most of the used items offered. I had a friend go in recently and shortly after she arrived, she got asked to leave by an employee because she snickered at a $170 price tag on a used marc jacobs TOTE. The employee snobbishly said "if you don't like our prices, you can leave." Seems like a full proof way to maintain a customer base. That alone makes me never want to go there anymore. I have only been to this store twice, as I'm not from the area. It is cute and the employees have been nice to me (although not helpful with knowledge on any designer bags). My biggest qualm with the store is the amount of fakes they sell. Fakes behind the counter, fakes on display. I have never been to a CONSIGNMENT store that sells so many counterfeit items. I was looking at a Chanel bag priced at $970 that ended up being a good fake. $970?! They had fake Balenciagas displayed on the walls for prices that you could buy an authentic used one. They are very shady about their knowledge on the product and you can only return for store credit. The last time I was there, they had fake Chanel's and a fake Celine behind the counter. I wish they could at least let people know. So many people probably think thy are buying authentic for those prices. I would NOT buy a designer bag here unless you are VERY VERY knowledgable. I just have never seen a consignment store selling knockoffs for (almost) authentic prices. The girl behind the counter showed me a Chanel they "knew was real" because they saw the receipt. Fake. Anyway, I have the place 2 stars because I did get a nice (authentic) Michael Kors watch here a year ago that I love and the sales gals have been nice to me. They also had some nice authentic shoes. Yesterday was my first time in Bella Boutique. I was wondering around South Philly looking for a formal gown for a black tie event I have to attend next month. I found (and purchased) TWO floor length and fully beaded fabulous gowns at a fraction of what I would have paid for just one. I found the clothing in general to be nice quality and on the higher end side. I didn't look at shoes but I refuse to even consider wearing a stranger's shoes- you can't wash them---eww! This place has everything from $6 items to the $1500 LV suitcase above the register. I saw a $200 Joan Shep sweater for $14 and picked up a pretty dress to wear to a wedding for $24 (easily would have retailed for $200). The catch is the racks are overstuffed and you really do have to have time to search. I agree the staff was blase and not very helpful, although I'd stop short of calling them rude. No one would come to count my items to allow me in a dresssing room, so I eventually just went in on my own. Both sales girls looked very annoyed at me for doing so. Also, when I first walked in I asked if they carried any formal dresses, and the sales girl half yawned and said, "I don't know, if we have any, they would be near the back." PS sweetheart, there were DOZENS of formal dresses...on the side wall...not in the back. If the owner is reading this you might want to have your staff take a walk around the store once in awhile. The store manager went so far as to block me from Instagram to shop in the future after kindly honoring my refund request since I was never sent an invoice nor told that all sales were final when I called to make a purchase. Trust and believe my social media followers all will not shop her once I leave my review. Poor choices!! Here's what happened. I purchased an item through Venmo and it was my very first purchase. The associate did not tell me the return policy nor did she send me a copy of the invoice which apparently should have happened. One, why would a sale via social media be final sale if I need to see it in person? Two, why would you defend your associates poor behavior and then block me to not give your store another chance. Update: in response to Domonique, I would like to clarify that I wrote this review not to criticize the return process, but rather to warn others that some of their "authentic" items are actually counterfeit. I have a written statement with specific details to prove the bag I purchased was counterfeit. On the other hand, when I asked Domonique what type of authentication service she used, she said she authenticated this herself...So I think her judgement is a bit biased. Lastly, she still hasn't apologized for this ordeal. Businesses make mistakes and the consignment world is no exception, and I wasn't planning to leave this review if I felt that this was resolved professionally. I didn't feel like I was treated fairly (maybe if I, too, were from Rittenhouse and came to consign my designer things all the time here it'd be different), but a lot of other people on Yelp apparently echo the same sentiment, so maybe just take this as constructive criticism and not as an attack. However, your little quip about blocking me on Instagram and telling me to stop following you tells me that you aren't ready to be professional just yet. ______________________________________________________ I purchased a Chanel handbag from them and, feeling a little suspicious of the quality of the material when I inspected it at home, I decided to get it authenticated via photo submissions. My suspicions were confirmed when the results turned out to be that it was indeed counterfeit. I immediately called the store and spoke with the owner, Domonique, and although she remained calm throughout our conversation, she never really apologized and was actually more focused on criticizing my choice of authentication service (I've used at least 5 different authentication companies in the past and I chose this one in particular for their accuracy). Fortunately, she quickly agreed to give me a full refund and so I went right back to return the bag. When we spoke more at length inside the store, I was appalled because not only did she continue to criticize the authentication company (just based on "other reviews" and the fact that it only cost $20), she defended the consignor of this bag simply because the consignor was "adamant that it was real, she's from Rittenhouse and never buys secondhand." Domonique blatantly said to me that she's more worried about her consignor being happy and it's actually good that I returned it because they sold the bag for too low of a price. "I'm happy the consignor is happy." They thanked me for returning it...I walked away in more shock than when I found out that the bag was fake. It would've taken a simple apology or some kind of gesture/effort on their part to easily rectify this situation, but their customer service and management style is just plain immature and unprofessional. I would give 1 star for the gravity of selling counterfeit goods, but since they were willing to accept a return without a hassle, I give them 2 stars. read more

The only thing that I would recommend about this place is their excellent selection of designer bags that were placed on consignment. This is a great option if you love designers like Louis, Prada, Coach and Fendi but don't mind bags and purses a few seasons old and want to pay the crazy prices. Otherwise, the clothing is so-so. They have a lot of items that I don't know why they are even trying to sell because some stuff is just plain hideous. Also, the shopkeepers were very cold and distant. An interesting thing to note is that they do have a rack devoted to the designs of local fashion designers. I went there today for the first time. The prices are a bite overpriced, although there are some items that seems too good to be true. Particularly one black leather chanel bag for $70. The CC logo was a bit lopsided though. It seemed fake to me, especially since the canvas coach bag on display next to it sells for over $140. Seems a bit odd, doesnt it? I experienced THE most ABSURD customer service (from the OWNER herself) this evening. To say i'm APPALLED, is an understatement. So i am from Philly, i used to frequent Bella (years ago), but haven't been to this part of the city in quite awhile. I just recently started going to PT next door, and i rediscovered Bella. Twice a week i have therapy, and i almost always pop my head in to just look after my appts. I would like to preface this by saying- i, myself, run a small boutique in Another part of the city. Customer Service is my #1 priority and passion in life. I PRIDE myself on that skill. Anyone who knows me knows i go above and beyond to please. i have worked in the Restaurant Industry and Retail for over 20+ years now. So i walk in around 745 this evening.. i asked if it was ok to come in (they close at 8), they said of course. As I'm walking around looking very casually (but quickly, and RESPECTFULLY)..I'm telling the two associates about my business, talking Social Media, and then how i rediscovered Bella and how i can't walk in and not buy something. I had just PRAISED the boutique, and told them i run a business. All the while- i picked up 3 items.. the owner and the girls are discussing remerchandising the store (it's not like they were coated up, ready to flee the store). I very casually said "I'm just going to try these few things on super quick".. and the owner goes "NO. it's almost 8pm" I honestly stood there in shock. I picked my jaw up off the floor, and i said- so wait., i really can't try these on really quick? She flat out said NO. That was it. she then goes around remerchandising the store. At first i thought the girls were embarrassed. I'm not even sure why i still asked if i could try the one leather jacket on in front of the mirror? At this point i wanted to spit in her face. But in spite i did try the coat on, i turned to the one girl and said- is she serious? She goes "she's the owner". So they let me in (i mean i walked in at 745.. there was even a man who walked in to sell them a pair of shoes after me). They allowed me to peruse and pick up these 3 items. And then denied a SALE?! i felt like i was on candid camera.. ESPECIALLY knowing i run a business. i was NOT trying to disrespect them (which they insinuated after). Flabbergasted, and honestly so disappointed (there was a cute little stripe top i most likely would have purchased).. i turned to the owner and TOLD her HOW APPALLED i was.. and that i just got done PRAISING Her business.. but simply because of her poor judgement.. i would never step foot in there again. They had the audacity to ask me if i would LET my associate stay- they have "personal lives", and "places to be".. i couldn't even believe those words came out of their mouths. To be honest.. customers come first. i was about to purchase an item. I was literally trying on 3 very quick items (not a whole wardrobe), and after this was all said and done.. it was 7:59 when i stormed out. .. and if i EVER was told that an associate of mine refused a sale, offended a customer, or DIDN't go above and beyond to please a client at my store.. that person would be fired. hands down. This boutique is amazing! I've shopped there many times in the past year and never walk out disappointed. My favorite consignment shop in Philly! It's a cute lil shop, but don't be fooled by the size. Packed from wall to wall with incredible finds. The clothing is in tip-top condition, some of it new, and most of it hardly worn. Each time I walk in the store and walk out with a bag. You just never know what you will find. From designer handbags, adorable dresses, cute shoes, and one-of a kind jewelry. Some items are priced fairly high, but you pay for what you get. The higher priced items are quality, designer brands. Most items are reasonably priced, considering these items are like-new! I've been going to Bella for years, since it was a dinky little place on 4th between South and Bainbridge (it is now on 4th between South and Lombard). And one thing hasn't changed - I still find treasures! In my mind, a treasure is something valuable and beautiful that is WAY underpriced; it really is like finding the needle in the haystack. At Bella, I have found gold, diamonds, platinum, silver, bakelite, antique jewels, valuable Taxco parures.... and, I have never paid more than $60 for any item (usually, it is more like $8 to $18). Also, the clothing selection tends to be pretty fab! Lots of affordable (and often vintage) evening wear, and racks of shirts and jeans. Oh, and if you love vintage furs, this is your one stop shopping destination! Dom, the owner, has a huge collection - from minks, to lynx, to leopard, to rabbit... she's got the hook up. Even if it's not on the rack, she may be able to find what you're looking for (so ask!). The shoe selection is just OK. And, there are always neat accessories to sort through. If you are a consigner with higher end merchandise and vintage, this is a fabulous place to sell! They take a large selection, tend to know even the lesser designers , and above all they will listen to you! If you think that they are pricing an item too low, tell them. Unlike most places, they will take your opinion into account. Why? Because, they take care of their consigners, and that's refreshing! read more

Every time i walk in i am tempted to buy everything on the shelf. I am amazed by the high quality designer that they carry and i will religiously stop in to see what they have. I have mixed reviews about this place. Their products are good but their service is inconsistent and mostly not on the good side. The first time I was there, I was drawn in by their designer bags. They carry a large amount of high-end designer bags like LV and Chanel. I didn't really look at their clothes selection and their shoe selection was very worn and limited. I ended up not buying anything there the 1st time because the 2 girls who were working there were not that friendly and came across a little snooty. The 2nd time I decided to stop into the store, again, I was drawn by their designer bags (Chanel, this time), I was greeted with much better service. Actually, the woman there didn't give me that much attention or courteous service, but the man that was working there was very nice and attentive. I ended up buying 2 Chanel bags that day and dropped a pretty penny for the 2. They look real and after careful inspection, I expect them to be real Chanel bags...but, if I am wrong, and I don't think I am...they look really good and were worth the money for them. I found this F A B U L O U S cabernet-colored Betsy Johnson dress that was just stunning on the hanger and looked hot on me. Unfortunately I didn't have $90 to fork over for it so I just lusted after it until someone with more financial backing than I have snatched it up. That's the case with a lot of the items at Bella's. The fact that it has Boutique in its name is a good indicator that the price tags aren't going to be 'thrifty.' Their clothing, shoes and accessories are any fashion-loving girl's wet dream. They are well selected, displayed in their best light and just so damn pretty. One day I will have the resources to frequent this fine establishment! Even if I don't buy anything, I always like taking a gander at these type of places because you never know what unique piece of clothing or vintage purse you can find. Here, the selection of clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories are decent... although I have to agree with other Yelpers about the high prices. However, when I went yesterday, the rack of clothes outside had some items for $3! Nonetheless, I'm sure you can find something if you have the free time on your hands to look at everything (and I mean EVERYTHING). I've bought items here several times and was preparing to bring in some items to consign, including a Gucci bag. I used to follow the store on Instagram as well. However, an employee at the store recently posted a picture of fringed boots and made a comment about how they would be great for a "sexy Native American costume." Someone commented that it was cultural appropriation, and all I did was write a comment agreeing. I immediately moved on. The next thing I know, Bella's posts aren't showing up on my Instagram feed anymore - I've been blocked. THAT is a problem for me. I have no problems with a store making a mistake - but if giving a store a simple heads up that something is inappropriate is enough to be blocked, it's a store I don't want to shop at again. I like the store and was told about it 5 to 6 years ago by a friend. The owner is soo nice and very easy to answer questions or be helpful. I have also consigned here as well, this normally goes well for me. I do agree the prices have been pricey lately especially for the handbags. I saw a channel in the store but was feeling that is was not authentic so did purchase but wasn't sure. I really didn't buy it due to the price being 1200 ...! ouch..... Yet the bags are hot and if you like vintage lv or channel they have them.... I consigned a pair of old Gucci loafers here before and they never called me to let me know that they had sold. Once I finally got in touch with someone, they told me they would send my check out the same day. It never came. 2 weeks later, I called again to let them know I hadn't received my check. Finally, 2 days later my check arrived in the mail. I don't necessarily hate the boutique or anything because I got a pretty ok deal for the loafers (they were at least 5 years old), but that fluke kind of pissed me off at the time. I would probably consign here again, but I wouldn't buy anything. I would watch this place. They tried to sell me a fake Gucci bag. When I looked in the bag to check the serial number(please ladies it's very easy to check serial numbers in bags to see if there authentic),the sells girl tried to tell me it fell off. Popped in wandering around the area. I follow them on instagram and see that they get cute bags in that sell right away. One of the girls working told me their phone rings off the hook if they post an LV bag on the instagram. They had so many Chanel items which I drooled over. The prices seem fair esp since these are nice bags that are practically new. I ended up getting a vintage crossbody Fendi bag. If you're looking for designer stuff and don't want to drop tons of money to get it new, Bella Boutique is a good option. Everything is in good condition, so prices are a bit high. They sell shoes, all sorts of clothing, purses, sunglasses, and jewelry. In the front of the store, they have a notebook that you can write down what you're looking for (like a particular Coach bag) and if one comes into the store, they'll give you a call and let you know it came in. While they do sell vintage, I wouldn't recommend it since they're very costumey pieces and the prices are outrageous. read more
