Donna took one look at my face and said, "I have the perfect dress for you." I'm between 12-14 and am working through some insecurities, so when she said that, I said "yeah, right." Donna told me I deserved to feel delicious in my dress, so I tried it on. My God. I looked and felt like a mermaid Goddess. The dress is a beautiful mermaid/trumpet style gown that hugged my curves in all the right places (I'll update with pictures soon!). It was affordable and very well-made. Normally, I would've walked right by it. Thank God I listened to Donna's advice. She is honest, smart, so so stylish, and she sees and celebrates the beauty of everyone who walks into her boutique. It seemed clear to me however that the owner of the boutique, who had initially been extremely friendly over the phone, was not particularly interested in my business. Although she had originally told me on the phone when I made an appointment that she would be happy to help me select a dress, when I arrived she seemed cold and disinterested and handed me off to another salesperson . She then approached a second customer who seemed lovely - and was a size 0 for sure. I have heard that this is the reputation of the boutique, mostly catering to the size 0 and size 2 set. I feel very happy with my beautiful (expensive) dress . Again when I returned to pick it up today after it was fitted, the owner was fairly perfunctory with me. She didn't ask if I was happy with the dress that I was going to be wearing to my son's wedding. When one has a special event coming up and goes to a lovely boutique like this to pick something special out, one wants to feel like a special customer.

Tammy was so helpful without ever making me feel pressured. She showed me crystals, some beautiful light oils, and necklaces that could be worn multiple ways--as necklaces, bracelets, or anklets. At one point she simply said, "Get what you feel. Get what you think." And that was exactly what I needed to hear. This person happens to be my birthday twin, so I initially thought I was going to go with garnet. But then I found the most beautiful silver lotus earrings! One pair was $15, or two for $25, and since I was shopping on a budget, the lotus earrings were perfect. And honestly, how could I pass up a lotus? Tammy made the experience feel personal, relaxed, and enjoyable. I left with exactly what felt right--and already knowing I can't wait to come back and see her again.
