Both my sister and I purchased our wedding dresses from Bella Bridal Boutique and we absolutely loved the dresses. This boutique has a great selection of styles and designers at this store, a very generous and comfortable fitting / viewing area in the back, and reasonable prices. The staff is helpful and good at making recommendations for your body type, although very particular about certain things (e.g., no shoes allowed, no men in the viewing area). Other positives were that they shipped the dress to me since I live out of state, and that they were able to get it to me within 3 months of purchase for a reasonable rush fee. They also stayed open late to allow me to make a final decision on the dress and for the processing of the paperwork / payment. On that note...the paperwork. This is one of the reasons I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. The contract they make you sign is a little crazy. You have to initial individual clauses that clear the boutique of any responsibility should the dress show up late, with a different length than expected, and a number of other nuances that you would expect a seller to be responsible for. They will not sell you the dress without your signature on every single line, and when I protested about the terms, they told me that it was in the boutique's best interest to ensure I was happy with my final purchase. So, they gave me verbal assurances that everything would be great, even though I was being forced to sign a document that cleared them of the liability for some potentially big issues. In the end, I was exhausted and wanted to just get everything over with, so I signed it. Thankfully, their verbal assurances rang true, and the dress showed up earlier than expected, without defects, and in great shape. It looked beautiful at the wedding! The only other complaint I have is that I felt very pressured to go with a larger size than I needed. My seamstress ended up having to take my dress in 3 SIZES, which was very expensive and time-consuming. In hindsight, I wish I hadn't given in to the pressure and ordered the size I thought was best. I get that boutiques want you to play it safe since it's easier to take a dress in than out, but 3 sizes off was a little frustrating. read more

However, the manager Susana, absolutely awful customer service and does not care about making a customer happy. Bella bridal charged my card TWICE for an item I only ordered one of. After months of phone calls, fighting with the store and also talking with my bank, the issue was never resolved. This is not something a bride should have to deal with right in the last moments before her wedding. I finally gave up because I was getting absolutely no where. I was super excited for this bridal shop and had high expectations. We came here around 2 on a Saturday, it wasn't too busy which was nice. My fiancé preordered a bottle of champagne and cookies for us to enjoy while we shopped. I would suggest skipping the champagne and cookies, it was over $100, and each person got about 1-1 1/2 glasses of champagne, and there was not enough cookies for everybody in the party... again this was not purchased by me, it was purchased by my fiancé so I would just suggest to skip it! I have only been to a few bridal shops, so I'm not sure if this is normal... But the lady who was assigned to me, let me and the people I brought with me pick out the majority of the dresses, I was not a fan of this because looking through all of the racks is pretty time-consuming, and you are only there for an hour and a half... Also, I feel like describing what you are interested in and then having the sales person bring it to you is a lot easier since they are aware of what they have in stock. When trying on the dresses, it felt like she didn't even make the dresses try to fit me. Most dresses that I tried on were too small (which I know most if not all dresses that you try on at a dress shop are not gonna fit you, but every other place that I have to at least made sure they look nice on me) and when she was strapping me in, it wasn't as fitted as other dress places have done it in the past, and at some point, the straps she used to hold me in didn't even hold up... For reference I'm a size 16 dresses, and most of the dresses that they had in there were around a size 10. Most of the addresses that they have in there are either lacy or have bedazzle on them, which was not what I was looking for (totally fine with that!) when I mentioned that to my sales person, she kind of just brushed my comment away...Lastly I just felt like the attention that was needed, wasn't given the sales lady in the beginning, made it very clear that we were her last appointment of the day and she was bummed that she had missed a bunch of softball/baseball games with her family over the day... Maybe we just came at an off time, but the shop definitely was not for me, if you are interested in dresses with bedazzle, or lace they definitely have exactly what you need! And if you also like picking out your own styles and looking through a bunch of different dresses, then this could be for you! I have such great things to say about this place! This was my first experience trying on wedding dresses and I had a blast! I was scared at first but Angelique made me feel so comfortable. I invited my future mother in law and fiancé (He was so excited to be apart of this experience) and we FaceTimed my maid of honor. She didn't make me feel rushed, or uncomfortable in any way shape or form. She made it fun! I highly recommend this place! Unfortunately with COVID, wearing a mask (in my own opinion) ruined the experience just a tiny bit. Rumour has it, some single women pretend to be engaged and go to bridal shops to try on wedding gowns. I am not one of those women. If it were up to me, all bridal shops would be one star because I am not some dress-up Barbie doll ("now put this one on. ooh you're so pretty. isn't she pretty? what if the dress were green? here's a beautiful halter dress, i think your shoulders will be gorgeous in this one"). And becuase it seems that most bridesmaids, brides-to-be, and mothers-of-the-bride seem to enjoy this experience way more than I do, I will focus on the tangibles. I was a bridesmaid for two brides who purchased wedding dresses plus bridesmaid dresses from Bella Bridal. There were many little things, which, all taken together, made for a more stressful experience than it had to be. - one of us was measured three times (on three different visits) and each time her measurements were different. - Initially I was told they'd contact me when my dress was ordered, when it arrived, etc. When I hadn't heard anything after a month, I called them for an update - they said that they communicate with the bride (you know, becuase the bride has nothing better to do than coordinate bridesmaid dresses :) ). - Some of our girls lived out of state, and they didn't seem prepared for that. For example, they told me that I would need to come in for a fitting within 2 weeks of the dress arriving, but that they couldn't tell me when the dress would arrive - they'd call me when it got here. When I explained that a last-minute ticket from California would cost more than the dress, they seemed confused, and just kept repeating that I'd need to come in within 2 weeks in case there was a problem, but no, they didn't know when it would arrive. - When I called to confirm that my dress had been ordered and see when it would arrive, they asked me for my measurements. I said that I didn't know, she should just check my file. They said that becuase I hadn't been measured there, they didn't have them on file - and could I confirm they'd ordered the correct size? But I *had* been measured there, and had ordered whichever size they told me I should, so the fact that they didn't know whether they'd ordered the right size made me nervous. - One of the brides lives out of state, and ordered her dress about 5 months before the wedding - the dress was to take ~4 months, so she planned a trip back to Minnesota for a fitting about a week after it was expected to arrive. The week before, she called to confirm, and they said the dress might not be in for her visit, and that she should have done a rush order to ensure it was there in time. (She had considered a rush order, except that when she ordered it, the shop said it would be in in time). The dress did end up arriving in time, but we had a very stressful week! - One of the bride's dress came 5 inches too short. Apparently they had taken her length measurement from a different place than the dressmaker expected it. The boutique ordered her another, express delivery, and it was delivered a few days before the wedding. It came in slightly long, but better safe than sorry, I guess! - The other bride had a wedding dress and a bridesmaid dress ordered. The wedding dress fit perfectly. The bridesmaid dress was too tight. Not 'slightly sexy' tight but 'oh my gosh, I can't breathe' tight. Since the other dress fit, we assume that it was an ordering/measuring error, and not that she had gained any weight. So...it all worked out relatively well. But I still feel there was more stress than there had to be. I think this was partly because we assumed they were handling things. Next time, I'd say one of the bridal party should take the lead and organize everyone's measurements, orders, fittings, and dress arrivals. read more

Although I didn't end up buying my dress from Bella Bridal, this was the best dress shopping experience I had. (I went to Heart Strings, Wedding Shoppe and Raffine.) I came in with an appointment on a Saturday. The shop itself is beautiful. The dressing rooms are large and decorated nicely and the pedestal area is well lit, with plenty of seating for your crew. (I came with just my mom and sister and would recommend you limit your entourage to 2-3.) I worked with Karen on an (admittedly relaxed) $1,100 budget. Karen was lovely and offered advice when appropriate. She also did a fantastic job pulling dresses based on my likes (which were all across the board). I didn't feel rushed like I did at other shops. Bella has a great selection - large but not overwhelmingly, and there are a lot of options at different price points. This might sound silly, but the temperature was comfortable too. A lot of the other places were quite toasty, which makes for an uncomfortable experience. Thank you Bella and Karen! I went all over the Twin Cities trying to find a dress and this place is the best! Everyone is so friendly. The store has tons of free parking and is easy to find. Inside, it is beautifully decorated with tons of room and lots of great options. They give you tags so that you can pick several dresses to try on. Its great, there are real sizes so that you don't have to feel fat trying on the dresses. After I tried on several, then I let Nicole pick out dresses for me and she did awesome! She picked two that I absolutely loved. She was great, so friendly, knew her stuff and took care of me. Prices weren't bad and there was no pressure at all. I wish I could give Bella Bridal two and a half stars because the first time I visited the store, to try on bridal gowns, I had good service. They have a large selection of bridal gowns and a decent selection of brides maid dresses. The store is spacious with large dressing rooms. I liked the fact that they were not in the dressing room helping you put on the gown but just right outside the curtain to help you zip/button/tie it up when needed. I ended up purchasing my bridal gown at another store but decided to purchase my brides maid gowns through Bella because of the good experience I had the first time and that they were offering a discount on brides maid gowns. So, I spoke to someone over the phone and received all the details. I emailed my brides maids what the price was going to be. When my brides maids and I went to our appointment to be measured and pay for the dresses we were told that they are no longer offering the discount but they lowered the prices on the dresses because of something that just happened. The price turned out to be higher. It was a little awkward standing in the doorway with my brides maids discussing whehter we get the dresses at Bella or elsewhere. We were already there and didn't want to waste more time calling around to places so we just decided to go with Bella. What I didn't understand was why someone didn't call me with the fact that there was a price change. I had an appointment specifically for the brides maids to get measured and pay for their dresses with notes regarding this discount. One other thing that was a little annoying but not the end of the world was one of my brides maids is using crutches due to a knee surgery. When we first go there I checked and we were just standing there waiting for no good reason and there was no chairs around for the brides maid with the crutches to sit. No on working there offered a chair so I finally asked if they could bring her a chair and what we were waiting for. Other than that the appointment went fine. I think it is a good place to go for bridal gowns and I'm hoping that my experience was just a one time thing. read more

I was very surprised to see this low rating. I had a good experience shopping for my wedding dress here. We accidentally showed up 30 minutes early and they were flexible and started the appointment. My bridal consultant, Kirsten, was nice and patient. She wasn't fake and worked very hard the whole time. She was having trouble getting my group to round up and head back to the fitting area... I think if she would have had me introduce everyone it would have gone smoother. The dressing area was large, comfortable, and well lit. I got to walk through the dresses and tag the ones I liked and Kirsten and my mom helped me fine dresses, too. When I started to debate between two dresses, we went back and forth about five or six times and everyone still seemed relaxed and Kirsten asked great questions. When I decided, the manager got a little pushy/snotty because we had one more place to go the next day before purchasing. I understand they didn't want us to walk out without "buying" it but her attitude wasn't pleasant. However, we did put $100 so they would take measurements and I could call back and order it. They stayed late to make sure we were taken care of and were so patient and helpful throughout the entire process. There were a few ladIes in the party that weren't find what they needed, and were ready to just get any dress but Julie and Jess worked to make sure everyone got a dress that looked amazing on them and that they felt good in. I came here with my sister to look for bridesmaid dresses for her wedding. We were out shopping for the day and decided to stop in here. We did not have an appointment seeing as it was a spontaneous stop, but they accommodated us. That was nice. Once we got checked in and started looking around we were not very thrilled with the selections or prices. My sister had a few she wanted to see before we left. We went to the dressing room and my dresses were hanging by a room. The gal that originally checked us in walked away and we hadn't seen her since. So I grabbed the first dress and started trying it on. Along comes a different woman that works there. WELL, apparently we are not to handle the dresses! "Who is helping you, this is wrong, you can't just try on dresses" as she rolls her eyes. Pretty much yelling at me and demanding I take the dress off. As if I will spend my money at a shop the treated me this way. No one told us we had to wait for an employee to touch the dresses, no one was around to ask for help. They looked to have a great selection of wedding gowns. I just can't recommend this shop because of the service we received. We couldn't get out fast enough. read more

Today, I had five bridesmaids, my Mom, and (soon-to-be) Mother in law all ready to go wedding dress and bridesmaid shopping. We began our day at the Wedding Connection..which was not a pleasant experience. We took a lunch break and then made our way to Bella Bridal Boutique. We were welcomed with a smile! Jessica greeted me and my large entourage and brought us back to the large, well lit dressing room area. She explained the process they use at the shop and let all of us shop the floor. At this time we spoke about my budget. I was appreciative that she respected my budget and kept me committed to it. She was also very kind and professional when one of my bridesmaids picked a dress out of my budget. She then stated that it was out of my budget but suggested a dress similar to it that I could afford. When it was time to try on dresses. Jessica helped me quickly narrow down my choices. I had at least six dresses on in 20 minutes compared to one dress in 20 minutes at the Wedding Connection. Once I had it narrowed down to two dresses, I wasn't sure what to do. I am a very indecisive person and Jessica helped me calm my nerves in making the BIG decision. She allowed me to continue putting on the two dresses until I could make a final decision. I felt she was very genuine versus wanting to simply make a sale! Then we moved over to the bridesmaid side. Jessica was beyond patient while my five bridesmaid, Mom and future Mother-in-law tried on numerous dresses. At the end of the day we were able to find a dress for all EIGHT of us. I would strongly advise to NOT buy a bridesmaid dress here. It's been nothing but a headache from the beginning. It took over 5 months to get these dresses which made it a bit of a time crunch. Pretty much the whole bridal party had issues with the dresses with it either not fitting right like how it was when we tried them on or they came in too small. Even mine after losing weight came in too small so now I'm trying to see if I can find anyone who can help with alterations considering the wedding is in 10 days. After shopping at two different bridal stores, I was so pleased with Bella Bridal. The store itself is beautiful, but the dresses are even more impressive. My appointment started by discussing the look I was seeking with my bridal consultant, Hannah. The gowns are arranged by silhouette, and my mom and I were assigned the task to choose 3 dresses I would like to try on. Hannah also pulled dresses she thought I would like. The fitting room is located directly in front of the couch where your guests sit...no wandering in front of other parties in oversized/undersized dresses at Bella Bridal! Bella Bridal is great! I came in knowing the style I wanted. I even knew the designer I wanted, but was open to another designer if it was a similar style. Jessica did a great job helping me find my dress! I only had to try on about 5 dresses to find my dress, and I loved it. It did end up being a different designer, and I'm glad Jessica understood exactly what I was looking for. I had a concern with the dress, as there was a seam cutting across the middle of my torso that I didn't like. But Jessica assured me that because the fit wasn't right, it was accentuating the seam. She was correct; it looked great at the wedding! No seam in sight. My dress came in sooner than expected. Angelique helped me for my first fitting and to pick out a veil. She helped me find a beautiful veil that was perfect for my dress. Everyone was super friendly and respectful and knew what they were doing. I was nervous and self conscious going into it, but they made me feel super comfortable. When I went in for the gown steaming, it was after they moved to their new location. I gotta say, the new place is so beautiful! The old location was great, but this takes it up a notch. It looks so pretty! I highly recommend Bella Bridal. This review is being written from the point of view as a maid of honor, attending the search of THE DRESS for my best friends wedding. The shop is located in a strip mall, and parking can be a little goofy. Anyways, the second you enter this shop, it is BEAUTIFUL! The staff greeted us right away, and were all super friendly and sweet. So we were brought back, and dropped off our stuff near the fitting room. The shop itself was not huge. The shop itself is full of BEAUTIFUL gowns, (I think most if not all gowns were designers, so the prices were a little more spendy) all displayed in a way that you can actually feel and touch them, (not smooshed in plastic bags, and exhaust your arms cuz the racks are jammed packed.) So we were all able to search the store, and the consultant gave the Bride to be (BTB) 3 tags and was told to just hang them on the hangers, and they were brought back for her. So we found her dresses, although we learned the dress she was most excited about was no longer in stock, she had plenty of options. So we went to sit in the nice comfy couches and chairs by the viewing mirror, as she and the consultant got her styled in each gown. Outside her fitting room they had written her name on this cool plaque. After the initial few gowns then the consultant pulled similar styles and a few random ones, and one of them ended up being the dress of my friend's dreams!! The consultants really have a good eye for dresses for different body shapes, and really listened when my friend discussed certain details she liked and did not like. Overall, the experience was amazing, and I recommend it to anyone and everyone! I can't remember our consultant's name but she is in the pictures! She also did. It pressure the BTB at all and gave us time to take pictures of each gown and when my friend found her dress, they had a sign for brides to hold saying "I said yes to the dress!" read more

Bella was the only bridal boutique that actually listened when I told them what my dress budget was. They pulled multiple beautiful dresses, and all of them were dresses I could actually afford. Huge kudos! The shop isn't crowded like many of the other bridal shops in town. The people who work there are helpful and friendly. Plus, the dressing rooms are beautiful and actually feel like the dress shopping experience that you want them to feel like in your dreams! I just picked up my dress from Bella Bridal, and it is amazing! I had ordered it in September for a July wedding because everyone I talked to (including the staff here) said it could take up to 8 months to arrive. Imagine my surprise when just a month after placing my order I got an email saying that my dress had arrived. My first reaction was actually to be a little annoyed (what the hell am I supposed to do with this thing for 8 months?), but this quickly turned to excitement and eager anticipation as I made an appointment to come pick it up. Jessica was there again, helpful as always, and I wasted no time getting into my dress. I have to say that while I did enjoy shopping for my wedding dress, there was also quite a bit of anxiety mixed in there. Today all that was gone, because there were no more decisions to be made - just my dress to try on. The attendants made sure I got a picture of the lace-up in the back so it could be reproduced, and recommended an alterations place to get it fitted. I can't wait for the wedding! read more

Do not go to Bella Bridal. I have had two bad experiences there. The first one was when I was shopping for my Wedding Gown. Super excited, I went to other places first to look, and I found a dress that was spectacular. But, we decided to keep searching just in case. So I knew exactly the type of dress I wanted. So we come to Bella Bridal, 45 minutes before close. They would not help me!! I knew what I was looking for and if they would have just taken the time to show me that unique style they had, it wouldn't have taken long. I didn't need to try anything on at that point, but if they would have just shown me what they had, I could have made an appointment for a different day. So we left. That was it. So I went back with two of my bridesmaids, in search of a bridesmaid dress. We were not even greeted. We walked in the door, took off our shoes, and stood there. We kind of sauntered around looking at some things while we waited, but we did not even get a "Hello" from a salesperson. I was highly furious. So we left. We didn't get a "hello", a "goodbye", or a "can I help you ladies find something?" Nothing. Wow. In these hard economic times, I would think they would be drooling over any sales opportunity. Wow. I made an appointment to look at bridal gowns about a two weeks in advance and was able to more or less get the time slot that worked best for me. I was also able to book from online, which is always nice too. This was the second place I looked for wedding dresses and I had such a good experience. I went with my mom and Kirsten helped us find dresses. Right away I was asked what my price range was, which I appreciated. Then, after being asked what I was looking for in a dress Kirsten let me walk around the show room and mark 4 dresses to start with. I was pretty impressed with the price range, which started from about $700 to over $2000 (I did not pay attention to anything over $2000, haha!). I really liked two of the first dresses I tried on and actually ended up buying a dress that was pulled for me and was probably not something I would have picked just on my own. I had such a good experience here, everything was low pressure and there were a few promotions going on that helped with saving money or making a purchase decision. I wanted to think about it before I committed that morning, but I was able to come back at 4:30 that same day to have my measurements taken and make a down payment. I would recommend this to anyone looking in the Twin Cities area. Truly a great experience. I enjoyed working with Kirsten and all of the other staff there seemed just as helpful and friendly. I'm not sure who served the other folks who've reviewed Bella, but I was treated with fantastic service. Bella was my third stop in a long day of shopping and quite honestly, a breath of fresh air. I worked with Karen, who was knowledgeable, friendly , and genuinely interested in helping me find the dress of my dreams. I was very indecisive and took too long during my appointment and they were still nice to me. They were also very understanding when I just couldn't make my mind and went home after my first appointment with no dress (as opposed to another shop I'd been at previously in which case the sales woman clearly lost inters ted when it became obvious I had no intention of buying that day). I think it's really important to be able to go home and "sleep on it", and I appreciated that they didn't make me feel guilty about it. I had a second appointment the very next day (my parents had flown in from Texas to go shopping with me, so it was really nice of them to squeeze me in to a pretty full Saturday lineup). As luck would have it, I did find my dress and they did a really good job of measuring me. I was having trouble choosing which size to order (which they make very clear that the customer is responsible for the final size determination, as they should), so Karen let me try on a few more samples in the sizes i was considering so I could get a feel for the fit. It helped a ton, and I was able to pick the right size for me. They even helped us out in ordering some extra organza fabric that my mom is going to use to customize our flower girl dresses so they match my dress. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend this shop to friends. read more

Update: A few days after posting this review, the store emailed me that they had seen my "unflattering review which I disagree with" and that they believed it to be a misrepresentation. That is fair - everyone is entitled to their views (hence, the reason Yelp exists). They then repeated some of the same issues from before - telling me that "altering the dress is a valid option" (i.e. not listening when I explained that the cost is a big barrier, and that some things such as the fabric, cannot be altered). Most concerning is that they ended the email with a request that I pretend my disappointment had been erased, stating "I am respectfully requesting that you remove your reviews". read more

I had such a wonderful experience at Bella Bridal Boutique! This was my FOURTH dress appointment experience. I had tried three other bridal shops before Bella, and to be honest I was feeling really discouraged. My doubts of finding a wedding dress that I love completely disappeared as soon as I stepped into Bella! For starters, the space was absolutely beautiful. Other dress shops that I went into felt cluttered and overwhelming, but Bella wasn't like that at all. I felt like I could actually look at each of the dresses on the racks. Dresses were nicely categorized by designer and style. The space used for trying the dresses on was also beautiful and had great lighting (I know, weird - but it's something you notice after going to so many different shops!). Second, Bella had dresses in a variety of price ranges, and it wasn't challenging at all for me to find beautiful dresses that fit my budget. In fact, most of the dresses at Bella were in my desired price range! Finally, and probably most importantly, the person that helped me throughout my dress appointment was absolutely amazing! She was so kind and extremely helpful. She wasn't pushy at all and didn't make me feel rushed. Her personality was very genuine and I could tell that she really enjoyed her job! I will update my rating after I go through the process of receiving my dress in 6-8 months, having it steamed, etc. but as of now I couldn't recommend Bella Bridal Boutique enough! read more

From the moment I called I was the MOST important person that Bella Bridal woker Heather was dealing with. She went out of her way to make me feel comfortable about buying my wedding dress. I only had three weeks and needed to buy off the shelf, but was very particular about what I wanted. Heather ran through the store and looked for what was avail. then emailed me what she had in the store that she thought would work. I was surprised at how well she did. I went in that day for an appt, however the dress I wanted wasn't available in my size. Heather didn't let defeat her, she called the vendor and was able to find out that they had a dress close to my size and they had extra fabric at their warehouse. She ordered and had it delivered in two days. She also called the seamstress that Bella uses and to make sure she would be able to help. It all ran SO smoothly for such a fast paced and crazy time frame. I appreciate Heathers professionalism and ability to make everything happen so quickly. I made an appointment at Bella Bridal and David's Bridal on the same day to try on dresses, with Bella being first. The consultant was very helpful and accommodating to all my questions and needs. Everyone was very pleasant! I tried on many different dresses, asked a thousand questions (to which my consultant knew every answer) and decided to move on to my next appointment. I walked out of David's Bridal after trying on just a couple dresses. Their dresses were such poor quality that they were chaffing me, my consultant kept disappearing and reappearing reeking of smoke. We left and immediately went back to Bella to purchase my dress the same day. The only negative comment I have at all about Bella is that Saturdays are REALLY busy and they don't have enough room to seat every bride's guests. My family had to stand and wait for me to try things on, instead of being able to sit down in a private room. Every dress I tried on at Bella seemed to be of much higher quality than other dresses I've seen. They also have a really reasonable price range, with most of their dresses coming in slightly under $1,000. They had a really wide selection and let me take pictures of myself in every dress so I could remember them. I've been back to Bella quite a few times since I bought my dress (for measurements, picking up dress, picking out bridesmaid dresses, looking at accessories, etc.) and EVERY time they have been extremely nice and done their absolute best to help me in any way I asked. Some of them even remember me when I stop in now! Overall, working with Bella on finding and ordering my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses has been one of the best experiences I've had with a store, of any kind, ever. I went to this store yesterday with my bridesmaids and my mom. Lynette, the consultant assigned to us, made sure to begin our appointment by pointing out we had to be done in an hour for the next appointment. I didn't think this would be a big deal, we were prepared to decide on and order dresses that day. The next issue she had with us is that one of my bridesmaids will be about eight months pregnant on the day of my wedding. Lynette rolled her eyes when she heard this. And when we dared to want to know which dresses might come in a maternity option, she provided a piece of paper with style numbers on it, because that would be really helpful to us. Anytime we asked what colors a certain dress came in, it seemed a huge hassle for her to show us color swatches. I would not recommend Bella Bridal to anyone. read more

I felt compelled to write a review for Bella Bridal after experiencing their lack of organization and multiple shortcomings throughout my bridal gown/bridesmaids purchasing experience. - First off, when I picked out my dress and the bridesmaids' dresses, we were given a $20 off coupon for the bridesmaids' dresses for deciding that day. They told me to tell the bridesmaids to order online and assured that this discount would be taken care of... Flash forward when my mom and I order the dress for my sister and niece, there was no discount. I know $20 isn't a lot, but but it was a nice incentive to pick out the dresses that day, and I expected them to apply the discount as promised. I emailed Bella Bridal, and they fixed the problem, however it would have gone unnoticed had I not ordered the dressed for my sister and niece. - The next issue arose when my dress came in. As instructed, I set up an appointment to pick up the dress and try it on (as you are charged for them to hold anything past 30 days). Additionally, this appointment must be made during the week, which can be difficult for someone who lives an hour and a half away like myself. The dress came in a long plastic bag, still seemingly wrinkled from its trip to the US... I have bought prom dresses from places like Mestads before, and they came at least somewhat steamed, in a sturdy garment bag. My seamstress had a major problem with this, as she had to steam it before I even tried it on for her (she receives hundreds of dresses per year, so I trust she knows what she is talking about). - Finally, as mentioned before, the pickup process was slightly ridiculous. My mom had bought my sister and niece's bridesmaid dresses, and she had planned to pick them up, as they live in Florida. When she tried to pick up my niece's dress, she was told that my niece (who is 14y.o.), had to call them to approve that pickup. I understand they would not want any old Joe Schmo off the street coming in to pick up a dress, however SHE PAID FOR IT. They were stern with this and made no attempts to check who paid for the dress... Then, when my niece confirmed with my mom that she had called, my mom wanted to verify it before driving there, and the associate on the phone said that she had never called! At this point, my mom was getting a little upset and asked her to check again. Lo and behold, my niece had actually called, but they again were unable to properly document it. I gave them two stars instead of one because I liked that my bridesmaids and I could roam the store and pick out dresses we liked (versus me giving a description and the salesperson finding me some options from the back). I came across this business online while trying to find a second option to my original store (The Wedding Shoppe). After having a horrible time at WSI, my party and I went to our appointment at Bella Bridal and it was the best experience we have ever had! We were greeted at the door by the friendly staff. We were then taken to the portion of the store that had bridesmaid dresses and they had a nice selection of dresses AND they had the one that WSI had that we were interested in getting. Once we were ready to try on dresses, the representative worked with us to find the best fit and to determine which dress was the right one for us. They took the time to measure each girl to the most accurate size. They were polite, respectful, and informative! The girls were happy to pay the $5 more a dress for the service we received! The only off-putting thing about Bella Bridal is the fact that the dresses need to be picked up ASAP. We had girls who lived at least 2 hours away from the store (the store was in the middle of all of their locations) and they were not as flexible with the pick-up date as we hoped for. Three of the four dresses were not tried on in the store and the girls took a leap of faith hoping that they were going to turn out. I would definitely recommend this place to brides!! read more

Finally it's my turn- I have been a bridesmaid over a dozen times and now that I am the bride I feel horrible for the friends and family that got married before me. I was dragged to every wedding shop in the Twin Cities over the past ten years and none compare to Bella Bridal Boutique! There were many beautiful dresses- all of which were reasonably priced- making it difficult to choose just one wedding gown. The shop itself is gorgeous- with large fitting rooms and couch's for friends and family to sit on. The ladies that I worked with were very friendly (offering me their expertise only if I asked, and bringing me water). The ordering process was simple and the alterations lady that was recommended to me by the shop was quite possibly the sweetest person in the world and made sure that my dress was ready for the beach that I am getting married on. If only we had known about this shop ten years ago all of my friends could have had the stress-free experience that I had instead of the headaches and tearful phone calls when things went wrong. My wife recently broke her arm, so l became her shopping feet looking for a mother of the bride dress. I waited over an hour to get some help at another "unnamed" store. The ladies at Bella were a great help for old guy needing a lot of help. We narrowed it down to one and when my wife was able to come out and try it on, Angalee (sp?) was extremely helpful and offered great advice. After checking out several bridal stores I was thrilled to finally find the right dress for my wife at Bella's for less than I expected. read more

I had, overall, a really lovely experience with Bella Bridal! The store was clean and well-organized. I was always greeted by at least one staff member - but usually 2 or 3 - upon entering. The dressing area is perfect - intimate, with only room for a few brides to try on dresses at a time so you get really personalized help, but also spacious enough that each bride can easily bring a few people with her. I worked with Jessica, and she was wonderful. She was endlessly patient when I wanted to re-try on a couple dresses over and over and when I agonized over the choices for accessories. She offered excellent ideas and suggestions. And she asked some wonderful questions that helped me really figure out what I wanted and what I felt most beautiful wearing. The customer service was great - my questions were always answered promptly and courteously. Finally, when I purchased my dress, I got a few really wonderful perks that made a big difference for me and my budget, including $100 off the purchase of accessories and free steaming for my dress! There are really only a couple *very* minor downsides to this bridal shop. First, the hours are a little odd, and since you need to make an appointment, it might be challenging for some brides to find a good time to check it out. Second, there really aren't too many options for brides with a smaller budget. We had a very limited budget for our wedding, and it got a little discouraging looking through dress after dress after dress and finding only a couple that were in my price range. (Thankfully, the one I purchased was *perfect* for me, so I didn't feel like I sacrificed wearing a lesser dress because of my budget....but I *did* spend a bit more than I wanted to and felt pretty nervous at the beginning of my appointment when I saw how limited my options were). Finally, there is some confusion among some of the staff about protocol for picking up dresses after having them steamed. When I made the appointment for my dress to be steamed, I was told that Bella doesn't take appointments to pick up dresses. I was just supposed to tell them the day I wanted the dress to be done, and then I could stop in to pick it up any time. I told them the date, and she said it would be ready by then. The day that I was supposed to pick up my dress (which happened to be the day before my wedding), I called in the morning to confirm that it was ready and I could pick it up and was told that, no, I needed to have an appointment to pick it up and they didn't have any appointments available. I explained that I was told *not* to make an appointment before and that it wasn't an option to pick it up a different day, since my wedding was the next day. She spoke with another team member or maybe a manager and then told me that it would be fine for me to stop in, but I might have to wait a little bit to be helped, since they were booked. It wasn't a huge deal by any means and I did get my dress in time, but it did put some unnecessary additional stress on my last day before my wedding. If you decide to purchase a dress with them, *please* save yourself this additional stress and make sure that you insist on setting an appointment to pick up your dress after it is steamed. However, again, these are minor quibbles, and overall, I would absolutely work with Bella again and recommend it to anyone in the market for a wedding dress! read more

Initially, The service was great...I'm assuming that is because they are paid in commission, because once they realize you are interested in purchasing the dress, they go all out to make sure you don't change your mind....my dress was very long. I needed 5 inches off the hem (that's with 4 inch heels). Prior to my purchasing the dress, I asked the consultant helping me if the dress could be hemmed. Her response was, "oh yes. It's very easy." So I spent almost 2k in the dress. I went to an inexpensive seamstress (a friends mother) who specializes in wedding dresses. "Heming" the dress is impossible. She has to cut each individual lace decoration out and move them up, then re-sew them on. It cost me almost $1000 in ALTERATIONS....the tag on my dress bag it states that I need to bring my dress into Bella 2 wks prior to wedding for steaming. When I called to schedule, they told me it would cost me over $100 to steam! That was not on the tag! I told the manager my situation with her consultant giving me incorrect information in regards to the hem and what the expense was that I encurred because of her false information. Nevertheless, she wouldn't wave the fee for the steam. She did offer a discount, however that discount doesn't make up for the nearly 1k I spent to alter the dress. read more

I went to Bella Bridal after finding a gown online that I couldn't find anywhere else after plenty of shopping. In the 3 times I visited and the 2 conversations on the phone I can honestly say that 4 out of 5 times the people were extremely rude to me. Out shopping for dresses I had a list of places that sold Maggie Sottero gowns. Every place I went the options were extremely limited. I stopped by Bella Bridal to see what Maggie dresses they had. I walked in and the lady was EXTREMELY rude - not very happy I didn't have a appointment. She wouldn't let me just look around on my own to see their options of her dresses and told me I had to have a appointment to look at the dresses there. She didn't even try to get up a appointment with me! I called a few days later (hoping it was a different employee) and they were very helpful. I found out they had one of the gowns I had been looking at - so I set up a appointment. The whole time I was at my appointment I felt that they were watching the clock - it was 20 minutes to close and they were shoving me out the door! I had a woman just tell me if I wanted to buy it I had to come back another time. I had to throw my credit card at them to be able to stay until closing time after they had to waste a whole 20 minutes of their day to sell me a $1100 dress. When my dress came in I tried to set up a appointment to pick it up. They won't let you pick up dresses on the weekends! Not very accommodating to people who work 8-5. I unfortunately commute too so there was so way for me to make it there during the approved hours during the week. They said I could not come any later than 6 pm. I took off work to get my dress. My mother came with and tried to look at dresses also. They said she would have to wait for a dressing room and she put her dresses aside. The attendant just put them back on the rack. Every time I have been to Bella's they were staring at the clock. It had a unpleasant atmosphere that they didn't want to help you and were extremely unaccommodating. I only bought the dress there because it was the only one I could find in the state. I regret it and wish I would have had another boutique order it even though they didn't have it in their store so I wouldn't have to deal with them again. Anyone I or any of my friends and family talk to that is getting married we tell them to definitely NOT GO TO BELLA BRIDAL. read more

I have never been so disgusted with customer service in my life. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from Bella Bridal. I bought a gown for over $900 and paid an extra $100+ to have the hollow to hem measurement done so the dress would fit me perfectly lengthwise (I am 5'2"). HUGE MISTAKE. I took a day off of work and drove 9 hours back up to Mpls to try on my new dress to find the dress was the same length as the sample I'd tried on 6 months prior. I was told it was the designer's fault, and that Bella had done nothing wrong. I was then told they would need to cut a new dress either way---so I asked if in doing so they could make the dress 1 size smaller (since they had urged me to get a size bigger than I originally wanted.) I was told I needed to AGAIN pay for this change. Which I did because I figured...hey..if they are going to make it the right length, why not cut out some more alterations time and have it made the right size--there is no way they could screw up twice! Well I was wrong. 6 months later, there was still no word on my dress. I would call and ask if there were updates and if my dress was sailing from China---to which I always heard "no idea. it should be here in ample of time for you to get alterations." I asked what she thought 'ample' time meant---and she said 2 weeks. 2 weeks is what they believe is enough time to get alterations, find accessories, figure out hair/flowers etc. Insane! Finally they called to tell me my dress would be here the beginning of August---thankfully when I was up in town for my bridal shower----and they made it seem like they had done me some huge favor by doing so. I went in at 830 that Saturday and put on the dress.....its was STILL TOO LONG! The sales lady beat around the bush saying 'it was just fine' and she 'saw no problem' I was standing on the wooden box and the dress drug 3-4 inches past my feet. In order to wear this dress I needed to: have more alterations done to bring it up OR wear 3inch+ heels, a bustle skirt to poof the dress out more, and wear straps to hold it up higher!!!!! I was measured for and PAID for to not do any of those things. The staff was incredibly rude and insensitive. She sat there scoffing while I cried my eyes out that my wedding was in 2 months and I live 9 hours away. I asked to speak with the owner and was told she would be in at 9...she never came. The sales lady said....'well, you can either pay the remainder or leave here with no dress' This was the most awful experience I have ever had bar none---with ANY sort of customer service. This is the first review I have ever written---only because I would never want another bride to experience what I went through with Bella Bridal. They should be absolutely ashamed to open their doors each morning. I only wish I would have heard all of the other awful stories I've heard and read before walking in this store----and believe me, they have many. DO NOT COME HERE for bridesmaid dresses or if you are expecting any ounce integrity or decent customer service. I got lied to and shown the wrong fabric swatch and then received rude responses and snide comments when I said that the fabric of the delivered-dress was not the same fabric as the swatch that I was shown and told I was ordering. I hope that the owner and manager read this to learn about how poorly I was treated. I have never seen such disrespect in the service industry in my life. I realize that this is a long review but there are so many things to be aware of: 1) wrong information from the sales consultant about ordering the same color from different designers; 2) wrong information and fabric swatch from the sales consultant about the color of the dress I actually ordered; 3) rudeness of the consultant who was working with me when I picked up the dress; and 4) lack of desire on behalf of Bella to fix their own mistakes or help me find a new dress to wear in the wedding. There are 4 ladies in the bridal party and the bride wants us to all be in the same color but wearing whatever dress we want. We were told by the consultant that we could pick any dress from 3 different designers and that the colors would all match, except for minor differences based on the types of fabric we selected. I tried on an all-sequins gown and was nervous about purchasing it as I would be the only one in all sequins and didn't want to be too flashy. The consultant ensured me that the color I was trying on (gold) was flashier than the one I would order (pewter) and said that the sequins of the pewter color was matte, so it wasn't shiny like the gold one I had on. She showed me a swatch of dark gray, matte sequins and said that's what my dress would be. Confident that my sequins would be muted, I ordered the dress. When my dress arrived, it was clearly NOT matte and was light silver. There was a different consultant helping me this time and I told her that there must be a mistake because this was not the dress I ordered. She blatantly told me that I was wrong. At this point, my mom came back to the room and said, without prompting, that this dress was shinier than the sample we were shown. This consultant said that I tried the sample on in gold and this was gray so the fabric was going to be different. I said I knew it would be different but that I was assured that my dress would be less-shiny than the gold, not more. Her response was - well, it was bold of you to order an all-sequins gown in the first place. Her response caught me completely off guard. I knew it was bold which is why I had the assurance of the first consultant that this would be a matte sequins, not the shiny sequins that was before me! At one point, she showed my mom the fabric swatch that we should have been shown before I ordered the dress and my mom responded that it wasn't what we were shown and that we were shown a matte sequins swatch. The consultant just scoffed that the matte sequins swatch was for a different designer, not for this dress, and walked away. This whole time, the first consultant (that told me the dress would be matte) was in the front of the store but she promptly ran away to the back once I started explaining what had happened and what she had told and shown me. She clearly knew she had messed up. There was no apology, no trying to correct Bella Bridal's own mistake, and no trying to help me find a new dress. I even told the new consultant that I wanted to buy a new dress. I went back to look at dresses and she wouldn't even come back to help me or let me try anything on. As if that isn't enough, other dresses are not the same color as we were told they would be. When we pointed this out to the consultant, she said that "nobody that works for this store would have ever told you that they would be the same color because they are different designers" and that if the bride wanted all of our dresses to match "she should have just picked from one designer." Such abhorrent customer service--telling us what we should have done instead of apologizing that we followed the recommendations that their own consultant gave us! All in all, I was told that I had no choice but to take the dress because I already paid for it ($265!). I asked if this was true even though I was shown a different fabric swatch and told I was ordering a different dress color and all I was told "yes." I'm still waiting on my apology for the mistake that the first consultant made. I won't hold my breath for an apology for the rudeness of the second consultant... read more
