My sister and I went in without an appointment to browse some bridesmaid's dresses. The lady at the front was friendly and welcoming. We went to the section of dressed and were looking and someone came over shortly after and asked if we wanted a room. We weren't expecting that since we didn't have an appointment. Amanda was the person helping us out and she was wonderful! She was helpful and very nice and just made it an overall great experience. I had previously went to this David Bridal a few years back in the role of a bridesmaid and my overall experience was great! So back in September 2012 I thought why not go back to try on wedding gowns for myself. I had been engaged all of 3 weeks so I was anxious to try on dress samples. The first appointment I walked in not really knowing what I wanted. I tried on alot of "T" length gowns since I am petite and short that would be easier and cost affective for alteration purposes. The last dress I tried on I liked and it fit my figure but it didn't really have the "WOW" factor I was looking for. A week later I came back with my Maid of Honor, one of the bridesmaids and her mom to try on more samples. I kinda stuck with the same plan a few dresses later still no "WOW" factor. Finally, before leaving the consultant was looking in the catalog and asked me if I wanted to try on one last dress. And at this point I was still pretty open. From looking at it I wasn't sure but when I tried it on I knew it was "The Dress!" When I was ready to order a few days later the consultant was very helpful and the one great thing I like about David's is they offer "Layaway Payment" options. Which was great because I didn't want to risk the dress being discontinued and it gave me the option to pay for the dress in installments. When I finally made my last payment on the dress the consultant originally said that it would not get to the store until February 2013 mainly because it was a special order because they do not sale Petite Bridal gowns in stores. To my suprise it came two weeks after just being ordered. Perfect fit for the most part some hemming alterations need to be done. So A- for my overall experience as a "Bride-to-Be." Also, when you mention you are the bride-to-be they give you a goodie bag full of stuff like. What I found helpful was the Venue/Vendor catalog book they gave me. I, like many of you, have hear numerous stories of people with bad experiences. I went to David's Bridal despite what I'd heard before and I had an amazing experience! The ladies there were so nice to me and very accommodating. I was alone when I said "yes" to my dress and they were there to celebrate with me. I wish I could have found a dress here after having one out on hold in my size and it not being true to size. I had been at another shop where I tried it on in a different color and it was fine, but this one was larger and way tighter. I let them know and they seemed upset with me. Last weekend we went prom dress shopping for my daughter. We did not have an appointment but decided since we were running around Woodbury we would stop at David's Bridal there. (I think it's an Oakdale address) They were amazing!!!! We checked in at the front desk and were immediately directed to dresses we could look through. They "assigned" Kenzie to us and she was wonderful! She helped when needed and let us look on our own when we wanted to. in the dressing room area, she was always checking in on us to see how my daughter was doing and was a big help with sizes and questions. I know she was busy helping others too as it was very busy in the store, but we never felt ignored. I am amazed at how well this gal handled everyone! We also got to meet the manager (Cindy) when checking out and she was just as delightful as Kenzie. I can see why they seem to function so well as a team here. We have had a lot of dress buying experience in the last 3 years and this was by far the best. If you want a beautiful dress, go to David's Bridal. I'm not here to talk about any experience other than alterations. I've been working with Victoria the last two months on changing the entire shape of a dress I bought to fit my style and personality. The transformation has been incredible and Victoria has become a friend along the way. This woman's attentiveness, caring, and passion for what she does is insurmountable. She has done an incredible job taking an A line dress to shape and fit my body. It's been a magnificent experience because of her. I am so grateful she was at the store the day I tried on that dress and told me it could be done and I would be stunning. I highly recommend working with her. Told them my budget for my wedding dress and they didn't even care. Showed me dresses double my budget, without me knowing prices. Fell in love with a dress, and as I said I loved it and thought this was it, they told me the price. Again, double my budget. Ended up buying the dress(and sash, veil, jewelry and flower girl dress), just got married Saturday and before our first picture my sash had lost a jewel. Before the reception started I started losing buttons on the back of my dress. Lost 8 buttons by the time the reception was over. Called the store to ask for help. They'll return the sash that I need to have cut off my dress and give me 10% back for my dress. 10% is nothing when it's pictures taken on my wedding day with lost buttons and a falling apart sash. The day can never be taken back and now I have pictures with a falling apart sash and dress. Very very unhappy and will never step foot into a davids bridal again. read more

We had an appointment and were still left to pick dresses ON OUR OWN. On top of that, our consultant came over once in our 1.5 hour meeting only after another employee took measurements (upon request). We even fell in love with a dress but passed it up to avoid giving them business. I took my bridesmaids to David's Bridal in Woodbury, MN today to try on dresses, & we did NOT have a good experience at all. I've worked at David's bridal in the past, and never have I seen such poor customer service. Between having all my girls measured completely wrong, and all given bazaar sizes that were way too big for them; & then having our consultant read the sizes out loud towards the whole wedding party is completely uncalled for. There are two things you don't give out loud when it comes to a female: their age, & their size. I don't care who you are, this is never ok. Another matter was the fact that if I didn't tell our consultant to go get the bridesmaid dresses for the girls to try on, like they are supposed to do since its their job to, I would've had to go grab them all myself. Several of my girls felt very uncomfortable during the whole experience, and never wanted to go back there. The sad part is, we still had to order dresses, and its unfortunate that it had to be from here. This type of hassle deserves a significant discount for the embarrassment, & lack of customer service that wasn't provided for during our appointment. So for all those future brides and bridesmaids, I would encourage you to go elsewhere for your gowns, as you will most likely have a much better experience then we did. read more

Stopped in with a friend only to browse, knowing they would be busy on a Saturday I had no intention to try anything on, but the staff insisted on helping out and giving the best service! Even though they were busy, they made sure to get a consultant with us right away. I'm blown away with the spectacular service I was given at this location, especially when another location in the area dismissed helping me on a day when they had hardly any customers. Had a wonderful experience working with Brittany at this location. I called this location even though it was not the closest to my house. Brittany was extremely helpful in answering my questions and locating 2 flower girl dresses for me, including one that was out of state. She went above and beyond to make sure the dresses were exactly what we needed including a follow up call a week later to make sure we received the items that were shipped. Would highly recommend using this Davids Bridal location and working with Brittany. read more

If you're not a bride with an appointment, don't bother. I walked in to find a dress for a work gala and was directed to the clearance rack. Not sure what screamed "IM BROKE" to the person working.. but poor assumption. I was handed off to Nicole who pulled two long dresses after I said I prefer short. After that she disappeared! I pulled the rest of the dresses myself. When I went to find Nicole to get into my room, she asked if someone else could help me as she "had a bride" that came in. Cool no problem, but you probably should have made sure someone actually helped me out. I tried on two dresses, needed help with sizes but no one was around to care. I walked out. I found a dress online that I really liked. It was on clearance but the woodbury David's Bridal store did not have it on the rack. I was disappointed but not surprised since it was a discontinued dress. Julie helped me find similar dresses in the store in the same manufacturer for sizing and for color. She measured me and helped me determine the size I should order. Cindy at the front helped place the order and walked me through some of my anxieties about sizing (my hips are one size and upper body another size). I placed my order with Cindy and look forward to the dress. I arrived at 9 am on Saturday to beat the crowds. The trick is to come early. Overall, excellent service, professional, and kind. Absolutely awful. Terrible. Horrible. This was my first bridal experience and it was a huge disappointment. The consultant did absolutely nothing besides stand there with her clipboard. She asked me question about styles and what I wanted but made me pick out dresses. Then when going to try on dresses, she would not help me get in and out of the dresses. My mother, who is supposed to be enjoying this experience as well, had to help me in the dressing room. Then when trying to get it to fit better, she legitimately handed my mother chip bag clips, I'm sorry but what?! They do not carry enough different sizes in dresses for plus size so it's impossible to visualize how it will look on when it fits. There was no box to stand on to be able to see the full details of the dress and to top of off she brought us a clearance gown that she didn't bother to look and see if it could be ordered in a different size. I understand careful precautions bc of covid-19 and I'm all for it but the fact that she did not guide or help me in any way was absurd. She was quick to end the appt and believe me, so was I. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Needless to say I did not find my dress there and to be frank they need a lot of work on their costumer service. I recently scheduled an appointment for dress shopping at David's Bridal in Oakdale, MN. My mom and best friend drove an hour from Wisconsin to help me pick out a dress so I was ecstatic and eager to begin shopping. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told the staff member who would be helping me was finishing with another bride and I could browse in the mean time. After 15 minutes or so, Tiffany, came over to get some basic information from me. With the help of my loved ones and Tiffany, we picked out three dresses to start out with. Tiffany did advise me she was helping other brides and asked for my patience. Tiffany said the managers would be helping her in times that she wasn't available to me. I am a very low key and easy to please bride so I didn't think this would be a problem. About an hour and a half went by with no assistance from Tiffany. I tried on five dresses with the help of my mom and maid of honor. They were forced to go find more dresses on their own because we couldn't seem to find anyone to help us. The two other staff attendants were helping individual brides and Tiffany was busy taking pictures for one of the brides. The assistant manager stopped by once, but appeared to be disinterested in helping us. I wouldn't fault Tiffany because she, for the most part, seemed nice. The main problem in my opinion was the assistant manager who clearly didn't think our party was worth the time. Maybe this is because I am a women of color and she made poor assumptions about me and my budget? For whatever the reason, David's Bridal was either overbooked or they chose who they wanted to help and I suffered the price. This was a horrific experience and one that I will have to try to erase from my memory as I take my business elsewhere. Unfortunately for David's Bridal, the first dress I had tried on was beautiful. With maybe an ounce of service we would have purchased that ($1,000.00) dress, but I now plan on spending my money elsewhere. I have heard GREAT things about the Wedding Shop in St. Paul so I will try there next. I am astounded by the lack of professionalism I experienced with the David's Bridal in Oakdale. I would be completely embarrassed to have that store attached to the most well known business in your industry. Where should I even begin? The things I and my wedding party experienced: The store calling us 5 minutes before our fitting appointment, saying lack of staff causing them to reschedule. Then also leaving a voicemail saying they just didn't finish the alterations in time. This store only does alterations twice a week and were booked for weeks out. Showing up to the next appointment for said dress, and multiple missing bustles, buttons, and snags in the dress. Using an electric sewing machine on the bridal dresses causing a horrific hem line. One of our bridesmaid's caught this because she works at the Roseville location, where her dress was done. Putting me on hold for 34 minutes when I called to schedule an alteration. No apologies, and rude on the phone. THE WORST OF IT ALL, EVERY SINGLE BRIDESMAIDS' DRESS RIPPED AT THE WEDDING. Bad rips, on the seams, on the zippers. It was a fiasco. We are very fortunate to have known someone to come and do some emergency repairs. On my alterations note, they even tried to get me to take my dress in more, and I didn't want to. So this was not a matter of the dresses being too tight, but just cheap material marked up ridiculously. I can't believe they have the tenacity to have us pay that high for something so undependable. read more

Because I wasn't buying anything expensive they weren't very accommodating in assisting me with looking for other sizes. I asked for plus size option in a dress and the woman told me that most of the dresses are only made in "reasonable" sizes. They should shut this store down! I am filling a grievance with corporate. They told me I needed to order a size smaller than I was comfortable for my wedding dress and I did and it barely fit. THEN, they told me no returns. My Maid of Honor found out she had skin cancer a week after she ordered her dress. She tried to change her order and they wouldn't let her. They told her to wear a cardigan. The manager was super rude and told her when she picked up the dress that its too bad and that it was her fault and that she knew she had cancer and their was nothing she could do. My other bridesmaid picked up her dress today and the alterations were awful and there was black spots all over her dress. Stay away! read more

Recently bought my dress at David's Bridal, the dress itself was beautiful however, I was disappointed at the information that was given to me at my appointment. I asked the stylist if the dress I wanted to purchase came in petites, she immediately said no. Because of the time constraints, I bought it anyway figuring I'd have to alter it. I recently looked online and found that the dress I did purchase DID in fact come in petites and probably was available at the time of my purchase. Very disappointed. Had I known that it did come in petites, I definitely would have bought it. Also, towards the end of the appointment, we felt very rushed, rushed to purchase our dresses. read more

I found a lovely dress, veil, belt, tiara and purchased them all the first day I was there. Had a fine experience. Not real special but ok. I made an appointment for a fitting with alterations. The seamstress seemed nice enough -spoke another language and was a bit difficult to communicate needs. She pinned in the skirt and I was set to come back for another fitting. At the next fitting the waist had been taken in, however I have never seen such poor workmanship. The layers of the skirt were all sewn together. They were puckered and not straight. The hem of the dress was sewn into the waist of the dress. The seamstress insisted that she had also taken in the neckline and the back of the dress but they were the same and she tried to show where she had done the work on the dress but there was no stitching at all in the places she indicated. She insisted that she would fix the dress by taking out the drunken seams that were so poorly put into the skirt/waist of the dress. They were on a lace and tool layer and a satin layer and the underskirt. There was no way to remove the stitches that had been so carelessly sewn without damaging the delicate fabrics. The manager eventually came and refunded the dress, accessories and alterations. However I left the store without a wedding dress and very little time to find a new dress. One of the most exciting days of my life -picking out my wedding dress and fitting it to feel like a princess- ended in many tears and much sadness and frustration. I would not recommend David's Bridal to anyone and will definitely warn anyone to especially steer clear of their alternations that were high priced and ruined my dress. read more

There was an alterations manager, a helper gal and my consultant all chatting with the brides. Our consultant was working with someone else, but I liked that a bit better. I scheduled my appointment and they told me to put my dresses in a saved list and it will be ready for me when I got there. When I arrived they said "would you like to go find yourself some dresses?" To which I said I had them saved on line. Subsequently wasting my time for them to go looking for them. After being shoved in the middle of other brides with dozens of people with them, I was encouraged to stop trying on dresses after 5 and I was only 35 minutes into my hour time slot. I didn't like their cheap dresses anyway I just felt it was pathetic. Then we moved on to bridesmaid dresses for our second time slot. We selected the bridesmaid dress and color. I was told that exact dress would be listed under my name and each bridesmaid would be able to go to their closest DB and purchase it in their size. All locations have failed to help my bridesmaids who are thankfully inclined enough to call me in order to find the dress and color. Shockingly also, each time they arrive they are asked if they want to look around for dresses as if the dress isn't already picked out, despite when I set up the appointment I specifically say "bridesmaid will be trying on the dress I selected and ordering it." Once the bridesmaid says the dress has already been selected, then they are asked if they know the dress number. I have been with three of the six to observe this taking place and each time I've expressed concern because I cannot be with the remaining wedding party when I order. Now it was just reported the same issue by two more. I asked specially if my bridesmaids would be able to get the dress in the correct color. I was told that was the only dress listed under my name. Not true. There are three. I asked for two to be removed. They didn't do this. Db is a waste of time. Entirely. They also charge shipping when you can just walk out of the store and order online to get free shipping. What a joke. I chose a dress somewhere else for myself. I selected several dresses to try on which apparently most locations don't even carry. This is my sixth and last time at David's Bridal. No wonder each time I was in a wedding the brides refused David's Bridal. read more

I tried on wedding dresses at David's Bridal and had a wonderful experience. April was my attendant, and she was absolutely amazing. I showed her a couple of ideas of what I was looking for, and every dress she pulled for me to try on was exactly in line with what I had in mind. She was incredibly knowledgable and helpful. I also liked that they had a number of dresses in my size so they didn't have to pin the dresses and I didn't have to imagine what it would like if it fit. And they had low back bras that I could try on with the dresses to get and idea of what that would feel like. I shopped at a few boutique, high-end wedding dress shops and didn't have as good of an experience as I had with April. I definitely recommend this David's Bridal location. read more

I wasn't happy that I was told I would have the same sales person the next time I came in and I did not which made me upset since the lady helping didnt no what I wanted and didn't want at all. A few months ago: I went to the David's Bridal in Roseville earlier that day and had a terrible experience. So I decided to visit this location because of the good reviews, and they were wonderful. They greeted me when I walked in and offered me help. Diane worked with me and she was very attentive and friendly, not pressuring me to buy anything that I was unsure about or giving me the death stare because I didn't walk out with a dress after trying on a few. They didn't ignore me just because there were other people in groups shopping for dresses (I'm shopping alone because all the other bridesmaids and bride are in California) and especially because I didn't have an appointment. It was my first time ever shopping at David's Bridal so I didn't know what to expect. The following times that I returned, I had an appointment and did eventually ended up buying a dress there.
