If I could give lower than 1 star I would! I came across a Groupon with Jessica and decided to give her a call since the Groupon was for $65 and this included a trim, color, and kera-glaze treatment and I wanted to dye my hair a dark purple/burgundy color. When I called Jessica I told her what I wanted, at no point did she ask me about my hair texture/length. She actually told me it wouldn't be a problem and not to purchase the Groupon and she would give me the same price. I made an appointment for Saturday the 7th at 11:30am and was told I would receive a text message the day before to confirm. Saturday morning came by and I had not heard from Jessica so I decided to give her a call at 8:30 am. I left her a message letting her know I never received a call and wanted to know if the 11:30am appointment was still a go. She called me back immediately. She stated that she had not saved my number and that's why she was not able to confirm the appointment. She gave me the option of coming in between 9:30am-9:45 am. I said sure if that helps. I live in Providence and this salon is 30min away from me. At exactly 9:44am Jessica calls me to "make sure I was not lost" I told her I was on my way. She sounded irritated and asked where exactly I was because she had a packed day. I asked if I can just keep my original 11:30am appointment there was an awkward silence. She went to say if I was there within the next 15min it was ok. I got the sense that I was already being rushed and I wanted to have GOOD SERVICE so I called her right back and rescheduled for Tuesday November 10, 2015. I received a confirmation call on Tuesday from Jessica. I sent Jessica a text because I was at work and could not answer my phone, but confirmed that I would be there for 6pm. I arrived at Salon Bella Capelli at 5:30pm, 30min early so that there would be no issues on my behalf. Of course Jessica tells me she is running 10min behind, but that was fine by me. At around 5:45pm another client walks in and tells her she wants to go lighter so she starts working on her foils. At about 6:20 Jessica has me sit down in the chair next to her and has another employee prepping me. She takes my hair out of the bun and asks what I was getting. I told her the same thing I said when setting up the appointment I even showed her pictures. She looked at my hair with a confused expression so I asked if my hair would take the color. She goes to say your hair needs to be bleached and colored and this is NOT what the Groupon covers. I have natural dark brown/black curly hair and as a professional hairstylist this was something she should have asked me when I mentioned my desire to have my hair a burgundy/purple color. She gave me the option of doing foils in my hair with the purple color "that way it can start taking some color". At this point I agreed since I have been waiting to have a change/new hair color. I trusted her "professional" opinion. She came back to ask the color and showed me a book I asked which one would pop and show more through my natural hair color and she showed me the color. I agreed. She starts applying the color in "patches" and says she won't do foils because she wanted to get "big" chunks. She ONLY applied this to a small section on my hair (front center) not like "highlights" should be. She moved me to a dryer for the color to "catch quicker" according to her. After about 10min she takes me out and rinses out the color and starts applying "the kera-glaze with color" again ONLY to that front center portion (I thought this was an entire hair glaze). I am still hanging on to a little hope and trusting her abilities. She leaves me with this sitting in my hair as she takes out the foils from the other client. She dries the ladies hair and she's out and on her way. She starts to rinse my hair at 7:50pm and says that she has a dilemma. She has to pick up her son at the babysitter for 8 and she's already running late. Am sitting there thinking she will pick him up and be right back but NOPE. She says she will trim my ends and just charge me for that. Not the color. I stay quiet because am at the point of having a nervous breakdown. After she cuts half an inch off my ends she tells me I am "all set". I have purple ALL over the side of my face and on my scalp. This is RIDICULOUS and UNACCEPTABLE! I ask if I can use one of the towels to rub/ clean it off and she says "oh sorry, I forgot to do that". I started scrubbing it off and put my hair in a wet bun. A BUN! The same bun I walked in with. She tells me its $25 so I hand her over $40 because I had no change to have her quickly snatch it and say "all set, thank you" and turns around to pick up her area. I was trying to withhold all my anger and just walked away without a word. On top of the unacceptable service I get robbed $15.00 for a "tip" that was FAR from earned. I cannot believe this lady is considered a "professional hairstylist". read more

I heard of this salon from Groupon, and let me tell you, I'm glad I did!! I ordered 2 vouchers, one for both me and my mother. Thinking we could spend some time together and have new hair for the holidays. I called Lisa (the owner) and she was so sweet and accommodating. With it being so close to xmas very few openings were left but she squeezed, not just me but my mom too, into her schedule! Then we got there and the atmosphere is so light and friendly! All of the staff were super! AND OUR HAIR! They really rocked it!! Both of us got a full head dye and cut and we are going to look stellar next to those Christmas lights! I've recently gained a large amount of weight... and my self-esteem has been on the lower side... but once I got home from my appointment seeing my fiance's face... I feel so good!! I found this salon through a groupon. I was looking for a new Salon as my stylist left and is no longer working in the area. I saw Lisa who was fantastic. She squeezed me in to get in before the Christmas holiday. I came to get highlights and a cut. The highlights looked very natural and were just what I was looking for. The first round of highlights was a little lighter than I was used to, so Lisa took the extra time to use a toner to darker them a shade for me, and they came out great! Lisa was also very personable, chatting as she worked on my hair. It was a great experience. I have recommended Lisa to my family and friends, and I will definitely be going back. I as well as others on here have found this salon through a Groupon and let me just say that I was nervous as heck...I am always nervous going to a new salon...I called at the end of the week and made my appointment for the following Tuesday (today) and had booked with Lisa. I was really excited because she has received so many great reviews but a couple of hours before my appointment things changed and I was told that I would be seeing Cathy instead...which was fine with me. I showed up and Cathy took me right away and she was absolutely professional and listened to exactly what I wanted. I was comfortable the whole time and she was so easy to talk to, the conversation just flowed and the appointment flew by. When she was done I couldn't believe how great of a job she did. I bought a Groupon for a conditioning treatment, wash cut and style and made an appointment with Cathy. She started me right on time, was super friendly and very thorough. I told her what I wanted which was just a trim without losing much length since I am growing out my hair, and I've never been so happy with a trim before. Usually, I end up losing at least three inches but Cathy did awesome work and cleaned up my ends perfectly. She took her time styling my hair after and I couldn't have been happier with the result. She is a great listener, conversationalist, football enthusiast and phenomenal stylist! I'm not sure why, but some places issue Groupons but then they seem put out when you redeem them. Not Lisa! Well let's see my stylist didn't mix enough color so she only colored about 40% of my hair then tried to send me on my merry little way until I called out her mistake. 2nd go round the color was all over but not the color I wanted. I have been going to Bella Capelli for over a year now. Lisa, the owner, is my stylist. She is just excellent. She listens carefully about how I want my cut and color. I have never left disappointed. I was looking for a different style and she made a recommendation based on my type of hair. I just love it. She gave me a cut that is easy to style and took the time to explain and show me how to style it at home. That is the first time a stylist has ever done that before I even asked! Very reasonable prices. I moved to MA almost 2 years ago and asked someone if they could recommend a place to get my hair cut. She recommended Lisa. At the time I didn't realize how far away the salon is from my house when I made my first appointment. It's about 40 minutes from my house and since then I have driven by many much closer options.
