The only reason this place is getting a star is because of the stylists such as, Nicole who is wonderful and the customer service of Emma. Claudia on the other hand is awful. Barely any customer service skills it give you anxiety about booking your next appointment. Claudia gave me such bad anxiety every time I booked my appointments. Makes the environment completely unwelcoming. Speaks condescendingly. I had a family emergency/hospital visit one appointment and the next one I sadly tested positive for covid the night before. Everyone was understanding except Claudia. She went as far as to say "I don't even know if you will show up to your next appointment" I'm sorry I tested positive for covid the NIGHT before my appointment and didn't want anyone to get sick. It shows you this is not an understanding facility at all. Edit: The owner also sucks. Bad karma will come their way. They are and have been bullying a disabled person, which is me. Because I have memory problems. I have been nothing but polite. But I am disabled, because of my disability I cannot drive a car. And as you can see on this post, the owner is continuing to bully me. As I left a very honest review. The no shows she's talking about was a couple of me thinking that the Canton location was in Massachusetts, easy mistake. The others were because of my disability. I just don't think it's okay for them to come at me when I have such a hard time already with my disability. My disability put me in the hospital. Another reason for the no show. Then the next I received Covid. I will not be bullied for having a disability by this Owner. I've been bullied my whole life for it. Had an appointment for a facial @ 2:15pm. I arrived @ 1:55pm and let them Know I had arrived. I was told that they were cleaning the room and they would call me to let me know when it was OK. At this time there were three employees sitting outside the business just hanging around. At 2:10pm I wheeled myself over to the store and @ 2:15pm, the receptionist came out and handed my wife a questionnaire to fill out. Did I mention I'm confined to a wheelchair as a quadriplegic? They were made aware of it when I booked the appointment. It's not easy to get me ready for a road trip (dressed and into the wheelchair van). My wife completed the questionnaire and were told the same thing we were told @ 1:55pm. While sitting in front of the entrance, we saw only 1 woman enter the shop. @ 2:40pm, my wife inquired about the wait and again were told the exact same thing we were told @ 1:55pm. I then informed the woman that I was leaving. To the person who had the appointment after mine she certainly got the cleanest most sanitized room on the planet! read more

I have been going to VIO for 15 yrs. I followed her to the Green Tangerine. The people there are very pleasant & welcoming. The salon is very clean, I love the hair products they sell. I always end up buying something.. This is an upscale salon however going to VIO is worth every penny.. . I recommend going to VIO!! I love her!!! I recently moved and wanted to find somewhere nearby that I enjoyed going to and left feeling like something had been done for me for the amount of money that I paid. I used to go to Lords and Lady's in West Roxbury and knew that it was the same owner who owned Green Tangerine. I scheduled with Vio based on her reviews, and I was able to get an appointment immediately. For starters, the salon is very clean and located at Patriot Place which is really nice to walk around. Parking is easy and it was easy to find. The salon was quiet the day the I went, though not sure if that's the norm. The receptionists were very nice. As for Vio - She definitely knew what she was doing, and you could tell that she's been doing this for a long time and her results show that. She was open and honest about what would look good and more importantly what wouldn't, which to me is the mark of a great stylist. I wanted a balayage, and we picked a color that would complement my skin tone and natural hair color. I had great conversation with her and it didn't feel awkward or forced, as sometimes it can be with a new stylist in a new place. I left feeling really good about my hair cut and color, and will definitely be returning to see Vio! Very pleased overall. read more

This salon/spa looks beautiful on the inside, but I'm afraid it is just a slightly upgraded version of Super Cuts. While they have decorated the place immaculately and they offer more services, the bottom line is, according to the gal that did my color/cut, that just about all of their stylists came from Lords and Ladies, a completely mediocre chain with cheesy TV commercials. I felt that the stylist's knowledge was very, very basic and a far cry from the consultation and knowledge that you'd get from a salon on Newbury St. Additionally, while I was having my hair done, an incredibly annoying masseuse approached me in my chair, touting her "amazing" soft touch masages, that were supposed to chainge my life. She did a demonstration on me that consisted of lightly running her fingers down my arm.... um, really? My boyfriend could do that for me. She kept going on and on and on about how she works on famous people, they all love her, she is such a professional. In my opinion, someone doth protest too much... if you are really that good, there is no need to talk about yourself for that long. It was like she was begging me to believe that she was a top-notch masseuse. I really didn't like this place at all. They do carry good products and are generally friendly, but do not confuse it was a high-quality Newbury St. location. read more

By far - my favorite stylist of my entire 27 years of existence. I love the location (I live in Norwood) and the hours aren't too shabby either (Sunday hours!). I was given a coupon from a friend as a referral so I got $15 off my first haircut but even without it is about $50 a cut which I think is very fair. The whole staff is courteous, caring, polite, articulate, and all the fixings for great customer service. Alysha had a vision, gave her opinion, but still really listened to what you want in a cut. She has been consistently good in the cut each time and actually remembers me. As someone who only gets a haircut every 3 to 4 months that is a definite plus in my book. She is good at her talent, keeps the conversation going, and makes it a pleasant experience. She is coming in on her day off just to do my hair for my wedding. I wouldn't want anyone else touching it - and I cannot wait for my entire bridal party to get their hair done for the wedding, I'm confident they will all look amazing. A few weeks after a disastrous hair coloring at the-salon-that-shall-not-be-named (see my other reviews for details), I made an appointment at Green Tangerine. I called during the week for a Saturday appointment and was surprised to get one so easily. Maybe it's not close enough to Christmas for the big hairdresser rush. I also didn't know what color service I wanted to get (highlights or all over color) without talking to the hairdresser first, and they had no problem giving me an appointment without knowing exactly what I needed. I arrived about 15 mins early and was greeted and offered a drink and my coat hung up. It was early in the day so it was pretty quiet in there. Alysha came over a few minutes later even though I was early. I explained what the last hairdresser had done and how I wanted it to look. Alysha understood completely and knew exactly how to fix it. I also told her I wanted to keep my hair long but take out some of the weight. I'm not the type to chat at the salon, but we had a good conversation going as she did the foils. The best part of the salon is the shampooing chairs! You know how painful it is to sit in those chairs with your neck at the wrong angle on the hard edge of the sink? Not at Green Tangerine! The chairs recline and massage, so your neck stays straight during the shampooing and you get a back massage. It was great. Plus, my hair looks fantastic! The color is much better and the cut is great. It's going to take a few visits of highlights and lowlights to completely blend out the dye from the last salon (it's basically a color correction), but I know she'll do a great job and get my hair color to where it should be. For barely more than I spent getting my hair ruined, I'm well on the way to getting it fixed. I may sound crazy for driving to Foxboro when there are so many salons in Boston, but I got great service for less money, so it's worth the drive! fyi: They take credit cards for services and products but tips are cash-only. read more

I'm a big fan of the Green Tangerine in Foxboro. I went for an hour-long massage and had my hair cut by Karina as well. Everyone who worked at the spa was friendly and very professional. Although the prices are a bit high, it's definitely worth it! Not only are the services great, but the spa is immaculately decorated too. Green Tangerine is actually a sister spa of Mizu in Boston. Apparently lots of the stylists go in between the two, which means that you can get the same cut for less (notice I said less, but still not cheap). read more

My friend recommended this salon to me and I decided to try it out. It is very clean, I love how it is decorated and the location is ok. I went there on a week day and there was no events at the Gillette Stadium otherwise it would be a challenge to get to this place. I did like a haircut by Vio and enjoyed spending time ther. But I think it is a bit pricy and the reception should be more welcoming. Overall I did have a good experience, I will probably go back and recommend it to my friends. read more

My friend is getting married and the bridesmaids and I wanted to do a spa day for the bachelorette. One of the bridesmaids called a few weeks ahead of time to get our names in and make sure we would be able to be taken. She spoke with a woman named Cassandra, and explained that we hadn't decided on what services we wanted done, but we wanted to set aside time for the 5 of us to go. Cassandra said that we couldn't book appointments without knowing what we wanted, but that she would put our name down and a note so that they would make sure that we would be able to be seen. Fast forward to the day of, we arrive at the salon and go to the check in desk and low and behold, we had NO appointments in the system and NO notes about our bachelorette party coming in. Now, I am a reasonable person, and understand that the appointment is necessary to book, however, if that was the case then Cassadra should NOT have told us that she would make a note and that things would be fine. Because if we had known it would've been a problem we would've made other plans. This is terrible customer service and they lost a lot of money that could've potentially been spent. Not only that but we didn't even get an apology from anyone at the desk. They basically shooed us out of the place. All in all, this place has terrible customer service and just blatantly lied. If I could give this place less than one star I would. I scheduled an appointment for a brazilian blow out AND a cut. I asked how much it would cost over the phone and Claudia qouted me $200. I asked how long it would take and told her it was my first time, she asked how long my hair was and I told her down to my butt. She then changed the price to $300 because it will take 3 hours, which I was still ok with. When I actually went to the appoitnment is when the bad experience started. I believe the name of the stylist was Kathryn but she barely spoke the whole time and seemed really annoyed so I didn't bother to learn it. So she took my hair out and started washing it and told asked me if someone had quoted me I said yes Claudia had said $300. She said no at this length it will be $400 you will be here for a few hours and I said ok. Even though I was told $300 for my length I assumed since it is rather curly it would take longer too. She then told me I also needed to buy the shampoo and conditioner which you would think when I asked for a price originally that would have been included since she is telling me I have to buy it but it wasn't. So now I am up to 170 over the original 300 I was quoted and she tells me it will be an extra 50 for the cut so I'm up 220 not including the tip. She told me she could just trim the ends for free a very quick cut at that point I just said ok and dealt with it. During the appointment she was pulling my hair while brushing and seemed very annoyed at one point she even held my hair up to show another employee what she had to work with. I really wanted this treatment done so I put up with this substandard treatment. At the very end she told me I couldn't go in the beach water or pool water without washing my hair immediately after now I was pissed as I am going on a cruise to Bermuda this week and I can't do the activities I had planned. I just can't believe how they didn't even tell me before I had this done what I would need to do and not do. She than did the quick cut ahe promised me in which she left my hair choppy and uneven and I left. In the ens my appointment took a little less than 2.5 hours which again was 30 minutes less than the 300 buck qouted ahould have taken but I was still charged almost 500. I will never ever go there again and I urge others not to as well. read more

I've been long searching for a stylist who would take the time to evaluate my hair type and shape of my face and find the right look for ME. So when I read the reviews on this page I decided to go for it. As instructed by another reviewer, I entrusted my long locks to Marco's expertise, hesitant at first because I've been burned at the hands of so many other stylists. He took a few minutes to consult with me and then recommended a short, fun cut that scared me at first, but turned out absolutely wonderful. As a working mom of a toddler with another on the way, the pick-me-up was just what I needed. It's amazing what a good cut from the right person can do! Marco has great experience, an artists touch, and will make you feel like a million bucks. I litterally left the salon feeling giddy. I highly recommend him. Oh, and the salon was also very nice. Professional people with a clean, nice ambiance. I'll be sure to return to see Marco and try their additional services. read more

I did some research on Yelp, and found Green Tangerine in Foxboro for a last minute massage appointment. I was scheduled with Andrea. I told her that I was due for surgery in a few days, and that I had had a knot in my back that I wanted to get rid of before the surgery. She listened to my request and worked it out to the point where I am, one day later, and the day before my surgery, without pain. My goal was to go into surgery feeling normal so that I could recover quickly. I am overjoyed that she was able to accomplish that for me! Andrea was very sweet, LISTENED (big plus!) and the experience overall was super luxurious to boot :) I'm not one to normally write reviews of any kind, good or bad, but felt compelled to let others know what a great job Andrea did for me -especially considering my circumstances. I also wanted to THANK her soo so much for helping me - she did wonders!! :) Kudos to someone who both loves their job and makes it their aim to help people while executing it!! This place is wonderful and super convenient, if you live in the suburbs. A few months ago, I made an appointment after looking at some random reviews. Miriam was my stylist. I just wanted a basic trim and some layers... what I got was an amazing hair cut that looked fantastic up until my ends started splitting. I've never ever had a cut hold up so well. I went back last Saturday and asked for some Liv Tyler esque bangs. Miriam is fantastic. Honestly, she's the stylist you've been searching for. I have gone to the Green Tangerine Salon on several occasions to have a wash and blow dry. I've always been pleased and like the fact that they use kerastase products. A few weeks ago I went to have a demi gloss put on my hair because I had just had a keratine treatment and it lighted my hair a little. The girl put an almost back demi gloss on my hair and I was very unhappy and told her while sitting in the chair. All she could say it that it would fade over time. I was so unhappy and went home and washed my hair several times with head & shoulders and a clarifying shampoo. All this with just getting a keratine treatment a week and 1/2 earlier. I called the salon and spoke to the manager and told her about the dark color when I just wanted some a few shades darker that would fade out eventually. She said the styist did nothing wrong but I could come in and theyd put some highlights in my hair. I didn't want this because of just getting the keratine treatment. I will never go to this salon again. I paid aound 75 dollars to get a semi permanant color that I hated. My hair was a light brown and I left with almost black hair. It is a month later and I went somewhere else to get a few highlights but it is still very dark and now very dry from all the harsh shampoo's. read more

I wanted to try Green Tangerine after reading the reviews on this website, and I am so happy that I tried it! I had Alysha cut my hair. She was absolutely phenomenal. The haircut is the equivalent to a Newbury Street salon, but for way less money! A haircut at Green Tangerine is $53. That is a bargain for the amazing quality that you receive. I will definitely be going back to Alysha. The interior of the salon is immaculate. The chairs that you sit in while they wash your hair massages you. The floor plan is very open, so you don't have stylists bumping into each other. They sell Bumble and Bumble products there as well!!! The stylists focus on YOU and not on their coworkers. They talk to YOU and don't carry on conversation with each other, they also are not working on multiple clients at the same time (which was my Keldara experience...) She wears extremely low cut tops, is very well-endowed and has piercings (that look infected) on her breast bone. It's not a very professional look." I got that woman, very nice but not very professional looking. Also i paid $40 for a pedi, most places i go to i pay $30/$35 for a pedi and that's usually with a french manicure and they do alot more. I went to Green Tangerine for a pedicure. The experience wasn't terrible but I expected more and have received much better at other spas. When I arrived, there were no customers and the staff was all sitting around in the lobby. The beverage service was lacking. I believe most mid to high end spas are doing wine service now for a fee, or at least bottled water. Neither was an option here. The decor was neither warm nor luxurious. It could have been cleaner, the pedicure room had a lot of open bottles everywhere. The salon chose to use small household fans for nail drying rather than purchase fan/hardeners dedicated to that purpose. The pedicure I received was itself good. But, part of the experience of a salon as the relaxing ambiance and high level customer service, which were both lacking here. There are far better options in the Foxborough area and I will not choose to spend my money here again. read more

This review is for the spa. Myself and 3 friends went here for a ladies spa day. I was a little hesitant at first since it seems like the Foxboro location is a primarily salon but the spa section in the back was fantastic. You still have all of the benefits of a spa with the comfy robes and changing locations in a quiet soothing atmosphere with the feel of a high end salon in front. After our visit I can confidently say that I've had the best massage of my life thus far with Sunny. The cranial sacral massage that she began with before the traditional swedish massage was really amazing. I left feeling relaxed and at peace. She also provided helpful resources and suggestions for my problem areas. While they only had 1 masseuse and 1 Esthetician staff that day, we all had a very relaxing day. read more

My friend and I had appointments, I had a facial and my friend had a massage and then we had manicure appointments. It was not a great first experience. We got stuck in traffic as there was a Taylor Swift Concert and then our appointment were switched due to a personal conflict by on of the staff members. I though my manicure was way over priced at $25 - it was no better than any salon where you pay $10-12. My facial was limited as the woman giving me mine was pregnant and she could not do the high frequency. ( which I understand) but the weird part was she said my skin really needed it.. Anyway. We voiced our opinion and the staff gave us the phone number of the salon manager. I didnt call but my friend did, and then the manager called me and left a message. I was out of town and my friend said she was sending us gift certificates. I honestly didn't expect for anything to happen. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Most places will say they are sorry. However, the manager went above and beyond and I have to say that that is what makes a good spa! its service! Everyone makes mistakes and things happen but its how you fix the problem. The stylist was too busy to do a consult, my roots are a different color then the rest of the shaft (she claimed to have used the formula on record), very sloppy when applying the dye ( a inch strip along my entire hair line that she let sit for over a half hour), when finally trying to remove dye from my face she rubbed so hard I now have a open lesion on my face, never stopped when I said , "Owe" The manager repleid in a e-mail that appears she is more about defending her experinced stylist then correcting the issue. My husband went there for a complete size "0" head shave. This experinced person left tufts of hair. If requested I will provide picutres of the damages. read more

I went here several times for manicures. It's a newer salon but it's not especially clean. It is nice that they are open on Sundays too. Like other reviewers said, there were always lots of staffers hanging around the reception desk. Even on a Saturday. Usually a salon is busy, busy on a Saturday. No wonder I could get a weekend appointment when I called on a Thursday! Val, the manicurist I saw the first few times, was ok. She talked a lot about her personal issues (yeesh!) and was kind of heavy handed with the polish. Then I got a manicure with some other woman that I thought was the receptionist since she always checked me in the times before and never left the desk. I've been to Green Tangerine several times over the past few years, mostly for pedicures and facials, which were fine. I've now become a regular for my eyebrows and hair, and I am a big fan of the aesthetician (Elyse) and stylist (Kailynn) I see. I have seen Elyse every 2 or 3 weeks for the past 3 months. I went in with brows that I had gradually overplucked, doing them myself for years. She assured me we could grow them back in and get that shape I wanted, and that's exactly what she has done. I hid my tweezers away after my first visit and let her work her magic, and I couldn't be happier with the result! As a bonus, she is the most gentle waxer EVER. I have no threshold for pain, and I barely flinch. AND I walk out with hardly any redness, so I dont' have to be careful to schedule appointments when I am going straight home afterwards. Then there is Kailynn. Previously, I was seeing the owner of a very popular, award-winning Newbury St. Salon for over 3 years, when I finally got fed up with making appointments a month+ in advance and the ridiculous prices. For less than half the price, Kailynn has given me what I think are even better cuts and blonde highlights than I got on Newbury. I received more compliments on my color & cut in the first couple of months after going to her than I did in 3 years of spending hundreds at the previous stylist. I just went back to her for a second time yesterday, and I am hooked! Long story short, yes it's a small chain of salons and yes, it's in a touristy shopping plaza...but what matters is the stylist/aesthetician you see. These gals are both supernice and very good at what they do! read more
