It says the Studio does not stand behind their work and certainly doesn't provide customer satisfaction. I am soooo disappointed - this was my 75th birthday present to myself. My boyfriend and I were browsing and watching hairstyling demos because he was looking for curling products. We were calm, respectful, and not doing anything disruptive. Yes, we were carrying shopping bags from other stores since we had already been shopping at the mall -- which is completely normal. However, instead of speaking to us or handling things discreetly, a staff member hovered around us and then brought a security guard directly into our personal space, positioning him right behind us. I literally said out loud, "No way they brought a security guard," and only then did the guard step away slightly. That alone shows how unnecessarily close and uncomfortable the situation had become. I also used to work in retail when I was younger, and I understand loss prevention. When there is a concern, it is always handled subtly and respectfully -- not in a way that makes customers feel watched, embarrassed, or targeted. This approach was the opposite of that. If carrying shopping bags is enough to warrant this level of surveillance, that is very concerning. The entire interaction felt intrusive and humiliating and completely ruined what should have been a relaxed shopping experience. I expect better from Sephora, especially at a major mall location. This situation should be addressed.
