We used Bella Donna Catering for my wedding back in December 2015 (talk about a late review on my part!). Steve and his team were very professional and made the whole process as stress free as possible. Our original caterer flaked on us at the last minute, so it was a mad scramble to find someone about a month away from the wedding. From the initial consultation, I was impressed with the packages and overall presentation. We let Steve know what our budget was and he explained options that could fit with it. There was never any point where it felt like it was pushy upselling. One thing that was emphasized is that we would be served early to ensure that we actually got to eat the food we paid for. I've heard lots of stories of people not even getting to eat on their wedding day, then becoming hangry or lightheaded and not even enjoying themselves, so it was good to know that it wouldn't (and didn't) happen with us. When it came to finalizing the contract, he even worked around our schedule and met us at the reception venue for a walk through so we could kill two birds with one stone. Since the venue let us supply our own alcohol, Steve was kind enough to help us with recommendations on how much to buy for the amount of people we were expecting. It was a pretty accurate amount because there wasn't much leftover at the end of the night. It was raining during our reception and, unfortunately, I think the bartender got into an accident on the way to the venue. Steve notified us immediately and jumped in himself to serve drinks so there was never any interruption in service. Even though his original intentions may have been to just check it out in the beginning to make sure everything was ok, he ended up staying for a pretty long time. The last thing that stood out for me was he even emailed some footage he shot with his phone of a special surprise performance during the reception. I can't say enough about the excellent service provided by Bella Donna Catering! The food was great, but the lasting impression they left is because of their attention to detail and going above and beyond expectations! read more

Just had our daughter's 18th birthday event at the West Hills location June 2026. Lovely area, the set-up was exactly how I wanted it inside, the tables and chairs were covered as I wanted them to look like, very clean and neat, the space was adequate for my number of guests, my family said the food was delicious so I believe it was worth the price for 110 persons. Also has a cute playground in the back for small and big kids to enjoy during the party. The downfall was the staff was short this day, so some food and water was served in delay, but the bartender was very helpful to the event, and my vendors (DJ & dessert caterer) were helpful as well. Overall, they are a trustworthy catering business, very good pricing for food choices, the organizer Steve was very helpful from day 1 of booking thru the end of my event. I rented a hall trough them because my daughter's birthday is in July and its very hot. Well the day of my event the hall was hotter than outside. I asked the person that was in charged of my event to put the AC down because it was too hot and they said they could not do it. Also, some of my guest arrived late and i was told i could still serve them.. so i went to the kitchen to serve my guest and the servers just looked at me.. they dint offer to help.. they give me some of the used plates to served my guest and they didn't wash them right. I guess they dint want to use the new plates that i paid for and that they were trying to hide. I will NOT use their services in the future as it was not worth the money I spent. read more

Where to start: The food was late. It was to be served at 5 but was served closer to 6. Appetizers/water and lemonade were served late as well. Coffee was supposed to be served but never was. The rice was under cooked. The staff was drinking. We asked for toilet paper restock several times and they did not. It's embarrassing when several guests tell you about how horrible the rice was and there's no toilet paper. My husband and I tasted their food prior to our event. The plate we tried was great. What we received for our event, was disappointing. Our experience was disappointing. I brought it to the attention of the guy we were working with and instead of apologizing they made excuses and sent screenshots of what the staff said. They claimed they were so focused on making other accommodations that were not on the list of their duties they fell behind. They even tried to take credit for things our family did, like decorating the cake table, and other ridiculous excuses like move our guest seating chart a foot from where we left it the night prior and said that was why they were running behind schedule. As a gesture of " kindness " $350 was returned, but I felt it did not make up for the poor experience and what was lacking. Not even an apology was issued. I also felt that we were being insulted with what we paid. I'm sorry I was just really disappointed. Update: After going back and forth, Steve finally accepted responsibility for the mishaps and apologized. They also reimbursed us for the troubles and inconveniences. read more

The party was a huge success. The food was amazing and the staff was super helpful. The service was somewhat of a disappointment. Sadly, the setting was not ready when the guests arrived. The arrangements were not in the right order and place even though the bride left arrangement notes ready for them to follow. They took a while to collect trash from tables when guests were done eating. They promised to give out coffee with dessert which they didn't. The rice was undercooked. Lastly they did not restock on toilet paper. When the toilet paper finished they put napkins. Very pleased to have Bella Donna Catering at our wedding. Steve was very easy to work with. Easy to contact, flexible in meeting times. He went out of his way to meet us at locations convenient to us. Steve also helped us plan a buffet menu with personal recommendations of crowd pleasing items. First of all, they were almost an hour late. Second,I was very disappointed and embarrassed with these caterer, only because I was told something and the complete opposite happened. My wedding was not in one of their venues, it was at a co-workers house. Steve the person incharge ask to use the kitchen to cut fruits and get clean water for serving our guest. What ended up happening was that they took over the kitchen. They ran the water for almost 2 hours washing every single plate they used. Including pots and itensils. They did not bring their own soap and without permission used the house's soap. When asked by the owners who authorized them to yake over Steve said it was the bride, this made me look bad with the owners of the house. I later asked Steve about it and he completely blew me off and didn't even apologize or acknowledge they did anything bad. We hired Steve & the Bella Donna Catering team for our Wedding in August 2018 at an Outside Venue (Yes, they will travel to your wedding venue!). After countless hours e-mailing catering companies and thinking we would never find anything good within our budget, we were SO happy to have found Steve! They were more affordable than majority of the companies we contacted, but the quality of the food was still On Point. From previous experiences, most weddings serve typical banquet food, nothing very memorable, but to us, Food is one of the more important aspects of a Reception and we really wanted a caterer to provide delicious, memorable, quality food (Enter Bella Donna). Steve was very responsive to texts and also very laid back and always willing to customize our menu/appetizers without any issues. We opted for a Buffet and our entrees were: Tri Tip with Chimichurri sauce & Lemon Herb Roasted chicken; Sides: Garlic mashes potatoes & italian mixed veggies. All of which were So Flavorful! His team was on time the day of our wedding, very attentive and communicative. When I say they will go out of their way to make sure everything goes well, I mean just that. For us an important element to any party is FOOD. So we wanted great food but without hurting our wallet. We had the pleasure of having Bella Donna cater our wedding on May 31, 2014. To begin with, I had emailed many caterers to get pricing and availability and Steve replied within 24hrs, as too many other caterers they took over a week, over a month and some to this date never replied to us. Steve was amazing! He communicated with us clearly throughout the entire process. He was always available to answer and or clarify any questions we had. He gave us a sense of confidence of their services. We did not have to worry or stress about another thing, which is great. At first, the price, such a big number scared me but once I started looking into pricing elsewhere it was way less, but the great thing is you still had a delicious meal. Their prices are super reasonable, especially because all of their packages included dinnerware, glassware, linens, etc. I made the calculations on how much it would be if I rented them on my own and it would of be twice the price. They had a promotion going on, which allowed us to get 2 types of appetizers. No one could beat their prices. I mean I could of payed a lot less but I would of not gotten the best quality of food and That is what I loved about them. We were so happy with the service we received from Bella Donna Catering this past September. We celebrated my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary and everything was wonderful. Right from the start, the prices were unbeatable. We got quotes from many places, but the price that we were quoted from Bella Donna, for the amount of guests we were hosting was fantastic. They worked with us in planning everything we wanted, within our budget. A sit down dinner, beautiful buffet, lovely table set up. In all honesty, the only concern I had at first, was that I felt Steve had waited too long to sit down with us to get all the details in order. Things like the linen colors, food choices and table arrangements. However, once we met with him, I knew he had it all under control and everything came through. The actual day of the party, I cannot stress enough how professional his entire staff was. They were all so helpful in every aspect. They checked in with us throughout the party and made sure everything was going just right. The appetizer table, which we brought in ourselves to save a little money looked wonderful thanks to the crew that was there. They helped us finish the set up and refilled it as needed throughout dinner. They cut and served the cake and poured the champagne. We had garlic mashed potatoes, tri-tip, seasoned vegetables and a creamy sun dried tomato sauce over chicken. Everything was delicious. Bella Donna handled the catering for my wedding in November 2014 (I am a little behind in reviewing them obviously!). The quick review is "amazing people, amazing food, and just an all around great experience" We worked with Steve and the event was held at an outside location. They do have their own venues which we did not use but this was not an issue at all. Steve was so wonderful to work with. He was full of information, ideas and suggestions that were so helpful to someone like me that was planning my wedding all by myself. I was worried about finding a caterer on our limited budget but he had plenty of buffet menus that were well within my budget and they were beautiful dishes. Not to mention absolutely delicious!! We received a ton a great compliments on how great everything tasted. His staff is also great! They did arrive a little later than I had originally planned for them to be there but that ended up not being an issue at all. They had everything set up on time and the room ended up looking awesome! After the ceremony was over, we actually ended our pictures ahead of schedule and we were ready to start the cocktail hour earlier than planned. Steve and his staff made a few quick adjustments and got things ready for us without even batting an eye. This company doesn't even deserve 1 star! BEWARE!! If you have booked your event with this company, try to get your money back ASAP and find another catering company!! They made us go through a nightmare on our wedding day. We couldn't believe the horrible service they provided. Steve does not care about his customers. All he cares about is the money. If you have booked with this company for a future event, make sure you get every single exact detail in writing and you receive a copy. We were never given a copy of the final catering order, even though we requested it. From the start of the night they gave us a hard time about the vendor meals. My husband and I wanted to make sure we fed our vendors. And made sure to purchase extra meals for them. In our very last meeting with Steve, we discussed how we wanted to to add extra meals for our vendors. It was suppose to be 18 in total but the day of the wedding Steve kept insisting we only had 8 vendor meals. It all went downhill after that. It was constant going back and forth during our wedding which made our first hour a bit sour and not pleasant. Instead of greeting our guest we were stressing out about the vendor meals. We requested family style service and paid extra for this service. The amount of food that was taken to the tables was not enough for all the guests in the table. People were constantly waiting and waiting for the food to come out. When guests attempted to request anything from servers, they were ignored or were very rude and did not fulfill their requests and to top it off some of the food taken out was cold. Early in the night,Steve and his servers denied to serve guests dinner at their tables and made them go pick up their meals from the kitchen!! It was only an hour and 30 mins into our reception. And our guests had to pick up the food,like if they were at a school cafeteria.THIS IS NOT WHAT WE PAID FOR. This is not family service style. Steve also mentioned that they always carried more food than what is ordered by your customers just to make sure there is enough for everyone, but yet when the mother of the bride went to the kitchen to ask catering staff to serve salads and sides to the guests that had arrived, she was told that there probably wasn't any left. Which makes no sense as we had a number of guests that did not attend so there should of been more than enough food. No one should of had to be going into the kitchen to ask to be served food! A piece of glass was also inside the food of one of our guest which was HORRIBLE and embarrassing. Steve also stated that their catering company would help serve champagne for the toast. We provided the champagne glasses and champagne and once again he failed to perform this service. We were left not using any of the champagne we purchased for our toast. Our toast with our guest was ruined! Then next day we told him about this and he mentioned "we never agreed to serve the champagne" which is a lie. The cake cutting and serving to the guest at the tables was also promised and once again they failed to do this as well. Instead they cut the cake and had our guests go grab their own cake from outdoor table.Many guests did not get a chance to get cake because they had no idea where the cake was being cut. He also claimed "we never agreed to serve the cake at the tables" Steve promised that they took pride in their work at the diamond bar center and cared about their reputation there. And sadly we trusted him. Overall we are very disappointed and not happy with your services and ruined part of our wedding which we made a huge effort to make happen. It's so embarrassing to throw such an extravagant event and for our guest to come and be served half as. We have no idea how this company is still running. Very happy with our choice to use Bella Donna for our wedding reception, all my guests loved the venue and food. We used the Lee Hall location and had the buffet of the Chicken Cutlets in Creamy Sun-dried Tomato Sauce, Fresh Vegetables, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Cesar salad and rolls. Our guests were very pleased that dinner was ready on time. The wedding package is a huge value, we were very satisfied with the service. I do have to agree with the previous reviewer in regard to having the final appointment a month in advance. Steve knows his job but the client who is planning needs to be able to have the appointment to finalize the details at least a month in advance. Would I refer them or use their services again? ABSOLUTELY!!! A few snafu's but not a nightmare, any issues were dealt with promptly. Pros: COST - incredible value, quality product, I do not believe you can get the wedding package they offer anywhere in Southern California for the quality Bella Donna provides. VENUE - just a great set up, a wonderful space for any party I believe you could easily seat 250 and still have plenty of room for dancing. Several restrooms kept the wait time to a minimum. PARKING - huge lot with plenty of space. FOOD - served on time, cooked and seasoned perfectly. CAKE - absolutely wonderful and we actually did not do a tasting so we had our fingers crossed but it was delicious. PROBLEM RESOLUTION - We had a few small issues the day of our wedding but all was dealt with promptly, the staff and Steve checked back often to make sure all was well. Cons: BAR- at our initial meeting we were not informed that it was beer and wine only. TASTING - we had a difficult time arranging a local tasting, sometimes being offered a day or two's notice. When we did do the tasting it was at another event so it was limited to what that party was serving. My suggestion, make an appointment at their Orange County kitchen for a proper tasting. BUFFET- salad served on the same plate as food. If I were to use them again I would have the salad plated and served prior to the buffet dinner. CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN AND CAKE - we scheduled these to be done at 8:00, we cut the cake at 8:00 and at 8:25 the chocolate fountain was still being set up and the cake had not been served. If it was scheduled at 8:00 that fountain should have been started by 7:45 my guests did not notice but I had a problem with that because a timeline was set and needed to be followed. PROFESSIONALISM - We did not mind that potential clients came to view the hall while it was being set up for our event but it is unprofessional for the appointment to carry on into event time. After all, as the client we paid for our time and it should not be used to conduct business with other clients. No diagram for the hall set up, he drew it up on a piece of paper at our last meeting. I actually created one and forwarded it to him. That took me by surprise considering he had the estimate and invoice available through his phone and was able to transmit electronically. Bella Donna Catering offers the most competitive pricing in the San Fernando Valley. I believe you definitely get the most bang for your buck. My wedding is coming up in a couple of weeks and after searching and meeting with multiple vendors for venues this was by far the most reasonably priced. It was perfect for us because they offer the venue and the food, but the best part is you can bring in your own alcohol!! You do not have to pay an arm and a leg to have a great party!! I will be updating my review after my wedding but I am sure I won't be dissapointed. I would like to mention that I specifically asked about how the leftovers would be handled and Steve did tell me to bring my own food containers to take with me at the end of my wedding. The bathrooms have also been renovated and they look amazing. They were upgraded with granite countertops and new tiling which adds to the look of the hall. They hosted my wedding many moons ago, about 16 years ago and did my daughters quinceañera 4 years ago and just this year my daughters sweet 16! The food is what really brings us back and Steve is just a bonus! Very flexible and helpful with suggestions and recommendations. A wide variety of menu items that are always crowd pleasers! Bella Donna Catering was perfect! It provided service from beginning to end. For us we had Bella Donna Catering because it provided great food, location, tables, linens, bartender and security. A one stop shop you can say. Bella Donna Catering had a variety of menus or select from variety of appetizers. salads, main entrees, or sides. We also had Bella Donna Catering provide the cake; it too was delicious. Our guests raved about the food and cake days after our party. We had Bella Donna Catering for our wedding last month and the best thing is we are still getting compliments on how good the food was from our guests. We chose an Italian buffet menu for our guests. One great thing about Steve is he allows you to make the menu what you want. There isn't a set menu to choose from, you can make your own assortment. I must recommend the chimichurri (hoping I spelt that one right) as an appetizer for your guests; its delicious ! I literally saw a guests sliding their finger on their plate to get every last drop ! What I found nice in working with this company was being able to have one company that took care of multiple things : chair covers, table linens, food and bartender. Everything the day of my wedding went very smooth and Steve was wonderful in making sure my husband and I had our food right away. At a wedding food is a big part of what people remember and its great to have had a meal that nobody complained about. We just had our Alemany High School Reunion and Bella Donna catered it. They did a great job. The food was amazing. My spouse was expecting an typical event with rubber chicken and overcooked fish BUT everything was cooked to perfection and inventively prepared.
