Having said that, I would recommend this location as an economical place to stay for a night or two. The upside of this place is that the rooms are clean. The bathrooms are clean and the location is convenient for many services. The downside of the property is that it is in need of renovation. Obviously they started with the bedrooms and bathrooms which is great, but the carpeting really needs to be replaced in the rooms and in the hallways. The other slightly disappointing item is the breakfast bar is not much of a breakfast bar it's coffee, some cereal and oatmeal that you have to use hot water to make yourself. The staff was helpful, courteous and genuinely nice with every interaction. There's a dumpster out front full of materials from the hotel that would indicate renovations are ongoing and I think that's great. But, a 3 is what they're getting! It was a decent hotel to spend the night. We were only there to be close to Rochester the the Eclipse the next day. It's not a particularly cozy room, but it was clean and complete, with soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, the TV, refrigerator and a microwave. Our room (number 202, almost directly above the main entrance facing the front parking lot) had long tiles and no carpet. There was a closet niche but it wasn't enclosed. They can use a little paint in the bathroom here and there. But it was clean, and everything was in working order. The air conditioner was pretty darn cold, thankfully, and I would say it's stronger than in most of the bigger hotel chains. This is a small hotel, with a front side and back side. It's best to check in before taking your bags out of the trunk. If your room is closer to the door in the back of the hotel, you'll want to drive your car around back. One thing that could bother some people is the pronounced smell of curry as you walk into the casual lobby area. You might actually love it... depends on how you feel about that smell. I could smell it up on the 2nd floor, but not in the room. They do have a candy and soda vending machine here in case that suits your fancy. All in all, I wouldn't want to spend the whole day
