An employee who I now also assume is Eva from other reviews came outside and told me she was locking that door so I had to come inside. The mirror I really wanted was outside of that door though and I was confused because it was close to 5 but they close at 5:30 pm. I asked her if she could wait to lock the door but no- they close some sections earlier and apparently that couldn't wait. I left without buying any of the things and will spend my money somewhere that people don't chase me out. I have worked in customer service and in a tourist place and it often sucks. I didn't and don't expect smiles and friendliness, but at a bare minimum need to not be locked out of the area of a store 30 minutes before closing. There are a number of signs indicating it's easy to transgress their rules and get yelled at or ejected...so weird how very unfriendly the people at a shop with so many great things could be. Ps don't even think about trying to use the restroom if not a paying customer- you have to buy something and then the other lady will grudgingly hand over some toilet paper. Dang! I went in so happy and left so annoyed.

Yes it's out there past the tourist areas. Kachina House is the real deal! Upon entering the ladies there all said hello and were extremely welcoming. Everyone assisted us in every way they could and were truly excited in doing so. The treasures in this store are innumerable. I mean this store is the most authentic beautiful Native American store I've ever been in the Southwest. You will be in awe of the authenticity and beauty of what they offer. There's something for everyone from smaller art pieces to the large intricate one of a kind art. All of their offerings are tagged and signed by the Native artists who made the piece. Upon entering the main room offers some items for kids and mementos for the road tripper memories. There truly is something for everyone here. It's difficult to even describe the beauty of the store, its offerings, and the peace and serenity you will find while in their building. I've always heard about the feeling of peace and that 'aura and spirituality' that Sedona possesses. Well, the Kachina House truly has that feeling. It is the real Sedona. It's like a mini museum and you feel the Native American presence while you are there. Naturally there are items you do not want to touch or simply just shouldn't out of respect. I parked in the back, so I entered through the back door on my last visit. Wow! So many varieties of loose beads, it's crazy. And very organized, by the way. This has got to be the most extensive bead shop in existence. It wasn't after I took my bead purchases to the counter to pay that I saw the blown glass beads in the case. $20 for the hearts and $25+ for the owls. It was too hard to resist, so I purchased 3 hearts and an owl. Local artists. Unique gifts for myself, of course. It was just the owner this afternoon. I found out it's always been her shop for the decades that I've shopped here. She's friendly and knowledgeable about her beads.
