The person at the billing counter was extremely rude. I bought an item from an adjacent store (The Naja) and was holding it in my hand. I was buying a magnet from The Hangin Tree, which I presented at the billing counter. The guy looked at my other hand and asked "That from my store?" I said "no", then he did something rather unexpected - he grabbed the item from my hand, flipped it around and was trying very hard to read the label on the item. I said - "I got it from the other store, it's not from here." Not able to find what he was looking for (i.e. proof that it is from his store), he said - "how come they didn't give you bag?" I said - "because I didn't want a plastic bag". I live in Seattle and I am used to a very high-trust environment. This entire encounter left a very bitter taste in my mouth and made me wonder he was so distrustful because of some prejudice against my race. I also felt he was staring at me in a distrustful way the whole time I was looking around the store too, as if I was going to steal something. I later went through the other Google reviews and it did seem like he can be rude to people who is not like him (read: non-white, on the spectrum, etc.) I would recommend people The Naja instead for almost the same collection and a more amicable experience at the billing counter. read more

We stopped by this store twice, on our first and last days visiting Sedona. My Mother found several souvenirs for family and friends. I got two magnets; I get magnets everywhere I travel. Staff on both days were friendly and helpful. They will also screen print T-shirts on site, but I wasn't in the mood to wait after a long day of traveling. The store is all the way in the back. Would recommend for reasonably priced souvenirs. But I'm not a fan of the name... read more

This is quite the gem of a find!!! They have VERY reasonable prices and lots of unique gifts.. They have geode's..that you break apart or cut with a tile saw to see what color gem you have. I think this is awesome!!! I got one for my friend back home..where we can cut it open and she takes half and I'll take half. Lots of great knifes... Something for everyone!! This place is called The Hangin Tree- a name that horrifies me. But I also have to respect it because, hey, it drew me in. I'm pretty sure they're the only store on the main street in Sedona that sells cigars and cutters since place across the street with the walk-in humidor shut down. Prices aren't cheap for anything (cigars included), but it's all about convenience and tourist gifts. The gal behind the counter was incredibly sweet and probably full of stories and information. Excellent customer service! The gentleman greeted me and my daughter today and didn't make rude comments because we didn't have masks on. (We have a medical exemption). Many of the shops now discriminate and refuse service if you don't have a mask. This store was so kind and considerate of us! Really neat shop and a kind person to buy from. I gifted 8-10 of the handbags and travel bags from The Hanging Tree recently and kept my favorite one for myself. My friends from Naples, Florida to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada are so delighted, the travel bags are so unique and fun. I love my teal colored sunburst wall decoration, but my favorite gifts were the "Happy Camper" tin plate hangings. Since I was long distance, Meshach helped me figure out exactly what I wanted to purchase by sending me pictures of the merchandise that interested me. He got the package sealed up tight, shipped and received by me in Florida record time. He was a wonderful help! This ladies shop is the best. She does all the screen printing for the shirts herself, so everything is seriously different than the other shops... Which we loved. We were buying my nephew a onesie and all the others we found at other shirts were too brightly colored and obnoxious. The one we found there was perfect, relaxed and more subdued...
