When I made the appointment I was told that Brett is a miracle worker with different textures of hair and that Suzanne is a master colorist. From the start, Brett & Suzanne were horribly rude and impatient. I felt rushed as he was very snippy and short with me. He kept walking away with the colorist Suzanne to talk then coming back. I found out later that Suzanne is Brett's sister in law. I grew my hair out for 10 months and showed up to my appt with pictures of me with my usual style of light and long soft layers. Brett said it was impossible to cut my hair like that. I have very thick hair and it's not fine so I asked Brett if he was familiar with the texture of my hair. Brett said to me that texture is not important. Oh, but it is Brett!! I had demonstrate by pulling my hair to the proper angles and pretend snipping my hair with my fingers. Bret kept rolling his eyes and arguing with me. Then Suzanne jumped into the mix backing Brett up. She later admitted that she doesn't cut hair. I asked for 1-2" off at the bottom. Brett cut about 6" off the bottom. I now have over 4" of very frizzy ends that curl under and above that to the middle of my hair it poofs out. AND my hair us unevenly cut - Brett did not check his cut afterwards. The layers are very heavy and Brett refused to blend them in. Brett had to flat iron my hair after struggling to dry my hair. Even though I told him that I don't use that much heat on my hair. Bret kept telling me that l, like most people, I don't know how to use a flat iron properly. My hair went from silky and soft to horribly dry and brittle. For a master colorist, Suzanne went way too light with the color. The color didn't last 24 hours or cover my grays at all. Highlights start abruptly at a line inches down, it's a sharp line. I also have a BALD spot on the crown of my head and I have an alarming amount of hair falling out every day. While they claim that I took too much time to explain things, they constantly walked walkway from me to talk together then came back to me. It went on like this from the start. I had no idea if they were listening to me or not. I felt like had to explain my cut over again for the start each time they walked away then came back because I had no idea if they heard me and understood me. I couldn't have a normal conversation with either of them. It was a really horrible experience. It felt like I was talking to wild animals who didn't understand me and wanted to bite my head off. I have to grow this disaster out as other stylist I got consultations from said it can only be fixed if I cut 3-4 more inches off the length and start with a clean slate. I should have went with my gut instinct the second I was mistreated and ran for the hills. It was a horrific experience and it's costing me a ton of money. I've lost a lot of sleep over this. I've never had an awful experience like this at any salon or even in another business. The way it all happened is very disturbing. Walking around like this a display of Bretts' and Suzannes' work. Also, my quote amount was also way higher than I was told on the phone when I made the appointment. While Brett waived the hair cut charge, I'm still out of $430 on 8-9 foiled highlights, color that didn't last, products, tools, moisture treatments, etc.....,and I have a long way to go. I still need to pay to get color again and have the highlights fixed when my hair gets into better shape. The pictures don't do justice but I posted a few with this review. To the owner..... You're response about what I asked for is not what I asked for and your arrogance shows exactly what I am explaining about my visit. I never asked for slithering or pieces out. I showed you many pics of my hair and nothing was pieced out of slithered. I asked you not to cut too deep into my hair and over layer my hair or thin it out because it frizzes and is unmanageable. You just didn't get it because your patience ran out way before I stepped into the salon My mother never cut my hair so that's another lie. YOU told me I was using words that a stylist understands. That's on you to ask questions. I booked extra time to talk about the the cut when I made my appointment take that up with your salon, not me. I care less they you have 27 years of experience. You can't understand a cut explained to you with many many pictures. And you lie I added 2 more pictures to this review - and the color matched when others did it and it lasted. The color I currently have is the color you gave me. I have a stylist fixing color tomorrow and she can tell you herself that this is what she saw the very next day after I was at your salon. What she told me was that your issue was the strength of the developer - that's why it didn't cover the gray hair or pick up the color properly.

This place is in the same shopping center a Maggio's Restaurant in case that's helpful to you. My GPS told me "You have reached your destination" before I was actually there so I was confused for a second. If I had known it was in the same lot as Maggio's, I would've known exactly where to go. With that being said, there is plenty of parking which *I LOVE* because it's in a shopping center. That is a huge plus for me. I like how easy and direct it is to get to ViDa Hair Studio. The inside is really nice, clean and spacious. I love how you're not on top of everyone else in there. I went here for some eyebrow tinting and waxing by Tetiana and I really liked it. Tetiana did a wonderful job. I've had bad experiences before with other places overwaxing my brows so I was nervous at first but you're in great hands with Tetiana. She's sweet and knows what she's doing. I grabbed a menu because I'm interested in trying other services there. I'm looking forward to going back to Tetiana as well as trying out some other services. I decided to give a place in the neighborhood a chance as I'm tired of spending a half a day just to get my hair done. This place is amazing! When I called, I was able to get an appointment right away which is not common in my experience. The owner made my appointment with DJ, her daughter as she has had over 30 years experience working for L'Oreal and is amazing with color and balayage. From the minute, I walked in the salon everyone was very welcoming. It's a little bit of a throwback and it's an awesome one!! The place is clean and bright and there are people of all different ages there to get their hair done. DJ greeted me warmly and we discussed what I was looking to do. I had felt I'd become too blonde over the years and I wanted to be more of a dark blonde. She suggested I use a demi permanent so I didn't hurt my roots as I was just adding color, not taking color away since I was making it a darker shade. I wasn't sure what you expect after using ammonia products over the years but I could not have been happier with the end result. I recently went back for my second visit and had a haircut as well. Having curly hair it's hard to find someone who can cut hair and understand how much it shrinks up when dry if cutting wet. DJ not only understood this but pointed out how she was doing the shortest pieces to let me know she understood. I tend to leave a salon wet as I'm usually just running around and not doing anything fancy so I thought I liked my cut when I was there. When I got home later that evening and I washed it, I realized I LOVE LOVE LOVED the cut! Honestly, it's probably the first time someone has ever looked at a picture that I gave them and made it look better than that. I would highly recommend the salon and DJ in particular.

I was looking for an African American salon in this area and was hoping for an easy and relaxing…read moreexperience where I'd like the result with my shoulder length hair. I don't want my hair to be over-styled. As a professional woman who travels quite a bit, I wanted an easy, healthy-looking style with a little volume to give this 50-year old face a little lift. I need to be able to sleep on a 12 hour flight, get up, brush my hair in an airplane bathroom and keep moving straight into a meeting. So many prior salon experiences left me with flat, overly-straight hair with no movement. I found this spot online and the reviews were good, so I booked an appt. My girlfriends all thought I was insane for trying any hair salon working dozens of personal recommendations. The booking process was simple and I quickly received a text confirmation of my appointment and a reminder. I loved that. I'm busy and a bit scattered - I NEED reminders. This was perfect. I arrived, was warmly greeted and was given a quick customer information sheet to complete - along with a price list (thank you!). I was then taken by Brittany to her chair to discuss my hair, my desires and my expectations. Brittany demonstrated professionalism while also being friendly and easy to connect with. My hair was shampooed by Kenneth, who gave me the best temple massage. I had to fight to keep from falling asleep in the shampoo chair. Good conversation. Ultra relaxing. Comfortable shampoo chairs and a foot stool so you can prop your feet up. The shampoo room is walled off from the rest of the salon, you're getting a very relaxing experience, but there is a glass door, so you can still see what's going on (unless your eyes are closed, as mine were). Having really listened to my desire to have a little lift and movement to my hair, Brittany had me sit under the cool dryer for just a few mins and then did the blow dry. But unlike other salons, she didn't snatch my hair bone-straight. She left it with some volume - then gave me a flat iron and trim. I was all much quicker than I'd expected and I was left with EXACTLY what I wanted. I was shocked - she "got" me. Had I brought in a magazine photo for a stylist to replicate, it would have been what I walked out with. The salon is comfortable, clean and a no-nonsense place - grown-woman style. They offered me a glass of wine - the music was nice - and the clientele was friendly and relaxed. I didn't wait at all, yet they did have plenty of customers. They kept us all moving. I left the salon and met my girlfriends for dinner. Everyone loved my hair. Definitely going back - have already booked my next appt!
