Got my hair cut by a lady named Delia who didn't understand what blending or tapering was and cut my hair in a whopping ten minutes. She didn't even clean around the ears, clean up the sideburn area, or cut it straight in general. I've never had such a bad haircut lol I only went because I had an important thing tomorrow and she kept getting frustrated for zero reason as if I was crazy for asking her to blend between the scissor area and the clippers. It didn't seem like she wanted to be there in the first place by the way I felt rushed. I very rarely leave reviews but this deserved one. Save your money. read more

My 6yo girl wanted to cut off all of her hair so she could have a "boy's" haircut. It is an unusual request, with this age group, but Tina didn't even blink and just went with it. She gave my little girl the most adorable boy cut while still keeping the feminine undertone since she's still very much a girly girl. Thought I found a unicorn salon based on the amazing reviews but was pretty disappointed. Emma did my blow out... more like a blow dry. No product used at all, just a blow dryer and brush. It came out looking straight and flat, no bounce, or wave. She also walked away 5-6 times. Not the end of the world but I ended up being there for over an hour. read more

It's as clean as any other Hair Cuttery location, and my hairdresser was friendly - more importantly, she actually gave me a good haircut, without any dramatic issues or injuries, and in a reasonable amount of time. Saturday, January 27 - Short version - was told to come by 630, arrived at 625, was greeted and told to sit with my ten year old who needed a wash and cut. Waited a half hour without a single acknowledgement from anyone. Zero courtesy, zero effort, however, the staff was tremendous at pretending we didn't exist. It would be difficult to find a better group of people to make a ten year old girl feel completely unimportant. We were so pleased that we had to leave ten minutes before closing and no one noticed. That takes real skill...I did spoil it by returning to explain that making a little girl think she would get a haircut and then ignoring her was not nice, but nice probably isn't very high on their collective values. Bravo! Couldn't have expected anything less than the experience we had...my daughter asked if I still had to pay for going...the only time she smiled was when I said "No, because they did nothing." Came in for a trim --- dead ends needed to goooo (thanks COVID). I made the appt online the night before and walked right in met with my stylist -- I had my temp taken + was provided hand sanitizer before getting into the chair.. the entire appt was under an hour and under $30 with a tip. They shampoo, conditioned my hair but didn't blow it dry-- I sat under a dryer instead...The staff was friendly and extremely safe wiping /sanitizing everything down between customers!! I am so glad that I discovered Hair Cuttery. While I go somewhere else for my color, I've been to Hair Cuttery a few times for a trim/haircut, and will continue to go. Most recently, I had my hair cut by London. She was VERY personable and did a fantastic job - she did a great job explaining what she was doing and why. She was very knowledgeable. I went to another nearby chain previously (same shopping center, in fact) and was highly displeased. Hair Cuttery is definitely your best bet - 33$ for a blow dry, hair fortifying treatment, and cut. I always go to this salon because I get great haircuts, no matter which stylist I go to. I always book an appointment ahead of time but this time I waited till the last minute so my usual stylist wasn't available. I booked with Tina instead. While I really love the haircut itself, I won't be booking with her again. She was rude and I didn't have the best salon experience. I'm in a wheelchair, so my first impression was her avoiding eye contact with me and directing all her questions to the person accompanying me. Like hello, I'm right here! She was very rough when she washed my hair too--it wasn't the relaxing experience I normally have when a hairdresser washes my hair. And finally, when I asked for her to cut two inches off and I checked it out, I decided I wanted one more inch off. Not a crime when you're getting you're hair done. Well when I asked she got kind of annoyed and I'm pretty sure she rolled her eyes. Overall, I just felt like Tina didn't really care about my salon experience at all. read more

I came to Hair Cuttery yesterday expecting my single full hair dye to be $47 and I even asked Emma as soon as I sat down if that was true. I told her what color I wanted and she went to the back to go "mix the colors", but she actually just came back to tell me that the price for my hair to be dyed would be close to $90. I was so happy that I thought I found a place to do my hair for cheap, but I was wrong and I will NEVER go back here. I went to Sally Beauty and got 2 things of dye and developer for under $20, so I can do my hair myself. Thanks for wasting my time & gas!! read more

So I went in for a last minute emergency style, I took 2 pictures. I wanted wavy, almost curly hair (usually done with a large barrel iron). More than an hour later I walk out with tiny ringlet curls, which I was assured would "relax" into the larger waves I wanted. The style didn't even last the car ride home! My hair went flat that quick, totally flat because it was dirty as they requested. Normally it is a little wavy I just wanted some added oomph. So glad it was just a style and not a cut!! Natelle did my daughter's hair for her brother's wedding at which she was to be a bridesmaid that afternoon. Natelle ran my daughter down over and over for the condition of her hair, til my daughter wanted nothing but to get out of the chair and the store, and came home in tears, just hours before having to walk down the aisle. She criticized my daughter's hair, told her she would have to do a 'make do' hairstyle because the hair was in such bad condition, and told her she should get it all cut off into a pixie cut. We are never going back there again or recommending it to anyone. No one should be treated that way. read more

I took at chance and went to the Hair Cuttery, as I needed a last minute trim and my hair re-layered. I ended up having a 70yr old man after two other women refused him (I felt bad and didn't want to be the third). I thought for sure I was doomed. I wasn't even sure if he would know what I meant when I said layers. Well, looks can be deceiving and he actually did everything I wanted! I felt so horrible for judging him because of his age (which I'm sure many women do), that I gave him double the tip. I can't remember his name (Jerry?), but he said he works Thurs. and Fri. at 3pm and Sat. at 8am. If you end up going and get him - you'll actually be happy you did! read more

I feel privileged to be the first to bring back the mullet. My stylist seemed to understand my instructions. It is clear that her technique and execution were worth the $15 that I was stupid enough to take a risk on. The cut is uneven. It is jagged along the back. The sides were cut straight up, like a military cut so much so that it looks like a mountain cliff. The bangs, while i requested be left longer, were cut straight across and not layered or textured. Further, the bangs don't blend in with the temple region, so it looks like an animal's tail dangling from my forehead. She takes good care of my hair and pays special attention to my request; like when I say it's dry and itchy. Amanda does my eyebrows, and they have actually started growing in. She gives me good pointers on how often to get them done, how they should be cut and so forth. In all my years, I have never met such a professional and friendly team. In all honesty, I have tried to give this place a chance. I have tried different stylists and my experience was not the greatest. I had one stylist pull a gray hair stand out of my head. Two other stylists didn't understand how I wanted my hair cut even though I explained it to them using technical terms and they acted as if they understood what I was talking about but yet they did their own thing. I even showed them what the issue was with my hair and how I wanted it cut. I did my research on what I wanted so there wouldn't be any miscommunication. There were times where my hair was washed only once when it should have been washed twice. I was given treatments on my hair that took the volume out. The last straw was when I went to get my hair reshaped and the stylists cut too much off and the shape is still a disaster. The only time I left satisfied is when I received a blowout. read more

When I first moved to the area, I tried the local salons and the hair cuttery about a mile away, all bad experiences that we won't discuss here. The ladies at this Hair Cuttery are awesome! Natell does my hair and is very patient cause she knows I have no clue what I want. I'm a low maintenance kind of girl and she's given me great advice on how to take care of my hair. Oh yeah, I should mention that she brought my hair back to a healthy stage after I decided to stop using relaxers. The ladies all seem to get along well and seem to have a good time at work. I recently got a cut & color at an expensive shop in Northern Liberties. After I washed my hair at home I realized that although the color job was good, the haircut was very mediocre. I had a party coming up, so the following weekend, on the spur of the moment, I walked into Hair Cuttery and asked to have the haircut fixed. Brittney did a fabulous job!
