I didn't read any of the reviews of LPM before coming here, but now that I'm reading through some of them as I draft mine, I can honestly say I don't understand the hype or how/why this place has garnered so many 5 star reviews based on my own experience. I note that many of the highest rated reviews are nearly a decade old, so maybe LPM used to be better back in the day? We arrived just ahead of our reservation and were seated right away. Service wasn't terribly attentive, yet we also felt rushed at times. Our server explained a bit about the menu and when we said we'd planned to order a bottle of wine and one of the guys in our party was perusing the wine list, the waiter more or less insisted he was sending the sommelier to make a recommendation, rather than asking if we'd like him to send the sommelier. When indicating we just wanted a decent mid-priced red, their wine expert recommended a $170 bottle which ended up being good, but not at all worthy of that pricepoint. We felt rushed to order our meals after they visited twice to ask if we'd made our selections, though we were clearly more interested in chatting for a bit before seriously looking at the menu. Later, shortly after we'd been given bread they cleared our plates along with bread slices we'd just been given, saying our meals were nearly ready - yet they weren't delivered for several more minutes. It was explained to us that most people order several dishes which are brought to the table as they're prepared, but on this night we all ordered from the Miami Spice menu as each of us saw items listed there we were interested in but also, since we were being prompted repeatedly to make our selections, it was just faster to order from that simplified menu. When they brought each of our Miami Spice courses - salads, entrees and deserts, they sat them in the center of the table as if we were expected to divide and share them. Each time they brought a course we each took the plates we'd ordered and only ate what we'd selected, but the staff didn't take the hint and still just sat everything in the middle of the table when they'd bring our food. I must say everything I ate was well-prepared and flavorful, though the portions weren't very large (which is sometimes to be expected when ordering the Miami Spice offering). In contrast to all the 5 star rave reviews for this place, during my own experience here at LPM I found that the serving staff lacked polish and we felt rushed during certain points, but a lack of any attention when we'd have appreciated it at other times. They sent a sommelier we didn't ask for who recommended a bottle that was overpriced vs. quality, and had an experience that I'd just summarize as a bit odd overall. I can now say I've been to LPM and experienced it for myself. I can also say with some confidence that, with all the other restaurant offerings in this city, including many in the Brickell area, I don't think I have any desire to return here.

The octopus was cooked perfectly. The lamb shank had an excellent bed of orzo but it was a little over done as parts were a bit tough. It still mostly fell off the bone though and was tasty. There was a minor mixup with the timing of our plates as the appetizer meals were delivered early and one seemed to have been forgotten. It didn't really bother us but they went above and beyond in apologizing by giving us some free desserts galaktobourko and Greek yogurt, both of which were delicious, as well as green tea shots! Both totally unexpected and unnecessary but greatly appreciated. You can tell that they pride themselves on their customer service. Overall it was a great experience and a lot I would definitely recommend.

As a vegetarian, I can confidently recommend every vegetarian dish I tried; they were all excellent. My friend raved about the fish as well. As we walked in a pretty purple palette emerged from the Chinese lanterns and open patio space to the deep amethyst water tumblers. The manger greeted us and walked us into a lush garden escape with mature potted trees. A burgundy floral arrangement of orchids and what looks like octopus umbrella tree flowers stands at an impressive height as you walk in. We were one of two tables present. 11am is early on Sunday for most Miami locals, but I appreciated having a calm and cool space to welcome the day. Our waitress, Adriana was friendly and explained that there was a wine option where we'd be allowed to refill our glasses and pay based on the number of glasses we declare. The pours were generous and we each selected a red, white, and rosé to have with the meal. For the tree of us we ordered the fig salad ($17), the Lebanese mixed grill ($55), and a grilled cauliflower side ($7). I asked for a side of the Chimichurri side ($5) as we were also considering the steak frites. This provided additional flavor to the moist mixed grill and would recommend ordering a side sauce if you order this. An additional side of saj bread was provided to us. Normally this would cost ($5), but based on the table size this complimentarily provided and equally appreciated. This is thin like a roti and provides the perfect vessel to stack the hummus, meats, and grilled vegetables. Two lamb chops, a beef skewer, and two chicken skewers were stacked over a bed of saj that was soaking in the juices throughout our meal. The cauliflower side was hearty using what looked to be a romanesco variety. It was blackened and dressed in a green sauce that wasn't listed by the dish, but tasted delicious with it. My favorite bite was the fig salad. I don't believe I'd had lollo rossa before and I loved it! It added to the purple color on the plate. Pops of color in the this radish slices, watermelon, and the pickled figs were offset by the arugula, walnuts, and copious amount of feta cheese. There were only two adjustments or setbacks we experienced. They only had two desserts on the menu and the one we had our hearts set on (ube soft serve) was not available. They had a rose and hibiscus alternative or vanilla, but we wanted to keep with the purple theme. As a compromise we managed to order a round of ube lattes that were not on the menu, but available at the coffee shop window within the restaurant. The other slight feedback I'd give is that the bathrooms are too dark to function. I can imagine this is the perfect vibe for the night, when the restaurant is busier. However, on a bright and sunny morning with unobstructed and open space, walking into a black room with minimal blue lighting, isn't exactly comfortable or transparent. Overall I had a great time and was happy to spend my last morning here. Parking was easy at that hour and the space was worth spending time in.

Most concerning was how my elderly mother-in-law, who has Parkinson's disease, was treated. She requires a medically necessary caregiver, who was on duty and accompanied her wearing her caregiver uniform. Management made the decision to send her caregiver away simply because of the uniform and made exceptions for others in the restaurant to not follow their dress code. My mother-in-law also uses a walker, and they would not allow her to bring her walker into the restaurant. The way the situation was handled by entire front staff and GM was humiliating, frustrating, and deeply upsetting. Turning away a medically necessary caregiver for a person with a disability raises serious concerns about accessibility and the rights of disabled patrons under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable Florida disability protections. The food was equally disappointing. One steak was so tough it was difficult to chew, which took an unreasonably long time to cook. I ordered the gazpacho and only managed two bites before leaving the rest. The burrata salad consisted of just chopped tomatoes, and we barely touched it. The music was so loud you could barely hear yourself talking. Definitely not a family friendly place especially if you have children. To make matters worse, the female general manager was visibly talking down to staff throughout the evening and had an unpleasant attitude toward both employees and guests, including our table. She was also the person who made the decision regarding my mother-in-law's caregiver, which left us feeling unwelcome, disappointed, and embarrassed during what should have been a special family celebration. This was an incredibly disappointing birthday dinner. Between the poor management, subpar food, and what we experienced as insensitive treatment toward a disabled guest and her medically necessary caregiver, we will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant.
