I have never had my hair done at this place, but I just want to share my experience, which is why I gave them one star. I was in need of a hairdresser desperately as my hairdresser all of a sudden close their door. My hair is shorter than shoulder length, and I needed my grey covered and some foils. I also wanted to trim and a blowout. The woman on the phone was very nice and very friendly and said l when I inquired on the price " you're looking at $160" and I will put you down for a Color and root touchup. Then I heard someone saying something in the background and she said may I put you on hold when the call came back on. It was a different woman's voice who sounded older and told me -now mind you site unseen. -It would start at $230. $230!! START??They haven't even seen my hair they don't know if I have thick hair, thin hair how short my hair is - how ridiculous is that?! Needless to say I didn't make an appointment and I would never step foot in that place and I would tell everybody who asked me for a good hairdresser about my experience with them on the phone. read more

There are angels among us! Callie, one of the Bella Salon & Spa stylists, is an absolute angel. My beautiful Mom was recently in the hospital/Sky Rehab for one month. Two days prior to discharge, my Mom was excited about going home; however, she was embarrassed that her hair had not been cut and styled in a number of weeks. I called two local salons asking if any stylists would be willing to come on site to Sky Rehab to cut and style my Mom's hair. Unfortunately, the first two salons I spoke with (by phone) thought my request was somewhat odd, they were short on the phone, and unable to assist. Fortunately, my third call was to Bella Salon & Spa. The receptionist I spoke with was very cordial. I quickly explained the situation and made my request. I then overheard the receptionist repeating my "odd request" to a room full of stylists. Fortunately, I heard a "I'll do it" and the phone was handed to Callie. I quickly explained the situation and my request to Callie. She very quickly agreed to assist. I wanted to make sure I had enough cash to pay for the service and tip, so prior to hanging up, I ask for the total charge amount and she said "it's free, I want to help your Mom feel beautiful." We worked the out details for Callie to come to Sky the next day (a Friday) at 3:30 PM. Around lunch, Callie texted me that she was running behind and would likely be 15 minutes late. Callie arrived on site at 3:40. I greeted Callie at the Sky front door and escorted her to the courtyard where my Mom was seated in her wheelchair. Callie was so sweet to my Mom treating her like a VIP client - asking how she was doing, talking about my Mom's grand kids and wanting to make sure her hair was cut and styled exactly how she wanted it. Once Callie finished, she gave my Mom a hug and I gave her a very nice tip as I escorted her back to her car. This was Callie's last style for the week and she could have easily passed on the request to go home early to spend time with her two sweet kids. I will forever remember and be grateful for Callie's generous act of kindness. read more

I'm really surprised with the two low reviews. This place is great! From the looks of it I was expecting to pay out the wazoo and when my total bill ended being far less, I was pleasantly surprised! I had Bianca as my stylist and she was great. I've never received such positive and complimentary comments on a hair cut. Tyeisha cut and styled my hair today am I absolutely love it! She was very meticulous and careful (you could tell she is fairly new at this) but I could not recommend her more. She was very informative about the products she was using, explaining what the product would do and how much she was using. I love Bella spa. Brittany cuts and colors my hair. She is great. Very friendly. The guy that works there cut and styled my granddaughter and her husbands. He is GREAT.. There was another girl there that gave my grandson his first haircut. She was just the sweetest. And his hair looked so cute. The place is very clean. And very accommodating. The only complaint I had was the girl working the front when you walk in. She wasnt friendly, and just acted agrivated when I would ask a question. Really need to work on that. I brought my daughter in for a haircut Haley was her stylist. My daughter is African American and White so her hair is tight curls and course. I knew this would go bad when she took my daughters hair down and began to brush it DRY!! I asked her to wash it twice while she was brushing it, she said okay but continued to brush it out. She then got a fine tooth comb and began to try to comb and separate her hair "DRY". I then told her you have to wash it to get a comb through it unless you wet it! She then takes her to the wash station brings her back and ask her how much she wants cut. My daughter tells her she wants it short but not too short so she shows her a inch and she says a little shorter and they agree on approximately 3 inches which would be well past her shoulders wet and sitting right on her shoulders dry. This lady did not part her hair or anything and started cutting straight across at the nape of her neck Haley is defensive and try's to say that's how she asked for it to be cut. I told her when her hair shrinks it will be far shorter than it was wet. I'm shocked at this point and another stylist comes over to try and fix what she has done. She then suggested we cut it into a bob. I tell her A bob it not going to look right with her hair texture. To just cut it even. Mind you by this time her hair has dried and once again she try's to comb through her hair with a fine tooth comb! I tell her she needs to wet it in order to comb through it to cut it. She now has a attitude she sprays it with water but it's not wet "course curly hair takes A LOT of water to get it wet" try's to comb it again I tell her she needs a leave in conditioner or some type of product to get through her hair with a comb. She puts a dime size of product in her hair and continues to comb and once again can't get the comb through it but still combs the tangled mess she's created. I told her to just stop bc it's clear they have never cut anyone's hair that has texture to it. To be such a high end salon they weren't very knowledgeable of different hair textures! Their attitudes were terrible and they didn't listen to anything we said. I would highly recommend if you have any texture to your hair to go else where! read more

However, the staff wasn't very friendly and I didn't like that I wasn't told how much it was going to cost until the end. Isn't part of the point of a consultation to discuss price? $110 isn't bad for all over color but still. This is the first review I have ever written for a business. Notwithstanding the difficulty actually making the appointment because the website appointment feature was not working and I couldn't leave a message because the recorder wasn't working, I eventually spoke with someone and made a facial appointment. MISTAKE! I should have immediately left upon walking into the facial room. The linens were thin and dingy. And worse of all, the head wrap was draped in hair from previous customers - unsanitary! See photo (below and/or in photos). I scheduled a 90 minute facial of which 30 min the esthetician just sat quietly in the room while my face was being steamed or while the mask set. The neck and back massage that is supposed to accompany the facial was terrible, I've had more substantive touches from strangers. And lastly, on my way to check out I looked in the mirror and I had facial mask still embedded alongside my nose, in my eyebrows, and along my hair line! I asked for a towel so I could wash my face, they gave me a damp paper towel. I could write more, but this is just a summary. Horrible Horrible Horrible experience! I had highlights, lowlights and a cut. What spectacular job she did! She took her time and did everything that I ask. The atmosphere was very comfortable and enjoyed being greeted with smiles! I came in with a mess of hair that hadn't been cut in over a year and Katelyn completely transformed it! She took her time, was really sweet the whole time, listened to what I wanted and then gave me her expert opinion too. I came in for a pedissage, it was a relaxing experience, yet a little different cause your feet are not soaked at any point. The staff overall did not seem that friendly. My mom also had a package done (massage, nails, and pedi). A day later the polish had peeled off from one of her nails. Quite an expensive service for that to happen! Unfortunately she does not live in town and was not able to go back in to have it fixed. She did enjoy her massage though. read more

I have not used services from the hair salon but the spa services were great. I had the soak and a hot stone massage. The facility was clean and relaxing and the services were performed by knowledgeable and courteous staff. I used a gift certificate that was purchased in December 2013 with no issue. The pricing for the services were very comparable. I will definitely return for future spa services. read more

The manager, Emily, of this place is awful. She's done my hair before and my dtr's hair, twice for each of us in fact, and both times she rolled her eyes at me while discussing what I wanted and then she did what she wanted to do anyway. I tried to overlook it as if I was maybe mistaken. Now, I only go there for a waxing (sometimes) and because I love Aveda products. At my last visit they offered to order for me at a 10% discount, but failed to tell me they didn't place the order for 3 wks after that. Then they didn't know when one product would arrive, if ever?? What?! Then treated me as if I'm causing trouble when I questioned them about this. Then, wouldn't take back a product that they ordered after recommending it as a replacement for a discontinued item. What?! And to top it off, they RECORD everything, what you're saying and doing but do not tell the clients this and many women come into a salon to discuss personal stuff they most likely don't want recorded, this seems strange for a salon to do anyway, why would they need to record the audio of clients?? I love Kelly Moss who does my waxing and love aveda products but I hate this salon!! There's never ever anyone (or maybe 1) client(s) in there and then try to switch you to the manager's husband book instead, this place is very unprofessional!! read more

Very disappointed in my manicures & pedicures. Even though my first experience was subpar, I went back and gave them another chance only to have the single worst experience I have ever had at a salon. My nails were a mess (ragged with polish all over my cuticles & the tips of my fingers and only one coat of polish) and they couldn't care less. When I brought this to their attention, they were dismissive and unwilling to address the mess of a manicure. On one occasion, the young lady informed me that "she really doesn't do nails...she's a hairdresser"; my manicure reflected that. The chairs/beds are very comfortable and the atmosphere is nice, but the service and attitude is terrible. read more

Being new in town I began here trying to find a good salon. I came here for a manicure and ped. What I got was a hand and foot massage and then a reg polish job. What I wanted was a gel coat with white tips on my fingernails. She didn't do gel and she tried to tip the nail white ( her first time doing it) but she kept messing it up and eventually had to give it up. She only wrapped a hot towel around my feet, never once soaked them in water. Had me laying down on my back the whole time in a massage position. I left on vacation the next day and my week long vacation lasted a lot longer than my fingernail polish and my feet were not pretty for beach walking. This cheap mani & ped. cost me over $100.00. I just about flipped when she told me what I owed. I'll never be back. read more

My manicurist was not very friendly, and she didn't do a very good job on my nails--I got a shellac manicure and she left a LOT of space at the base of my nails. First let me say that hair salons and spas are on every corner in Bowling Green and would select another and stay away from this one. The way an owner treats a client speaks volumes about the business. Bella is not a salon I visit but was given a $100 gift card by my Mom. I had a balance of $65 on the card when I visited the salon. I didn't ask about the card prior to my blow out as it clearly states in very large letters on the back ™Bella Salon & Spa Gift cards do not expire™ When I went to pay for the service the cashier told me the card was no good as the salon changed owners and that they would no longer honor the card. There was no signage stating this either. The cashier stated that I could call the owner if I wanted. I phoned the salon 6 times and left messages each time before Leslie Hastings [owner] could be bothered to speak with a salon customer. According to Leslie the last date the salon honored the gift cards was the end of June 2014. I missed that cut off by a month and a half. I asked if they contacted customers with the information and Leslie said the previous owner was to have done that. I received no phone call and neither did my mom who purchased the card. The salon had both my information and my mothers in their computer. Leslie also said that her accountant told her that they could no longer accept the gift cards. I think Leslie pays the accountant and without customers neither he or Leslie get paid. Having said all about my gift card issue the blow out and shampoo I received were also nothing to write home about. You would do as well at a inexpensive mall salon. Bella Salon and Spa stole $70 from me. They sold me a gift card for my mom. The gift card says that "this gift card does not expire", but it sure did expire June 1, 2014 due to the business changing hands. I'm sorry, but I think this business owner, Leslie, is wrong for not honoring the assets and liabilities of the business she purchased. She acted as though I were ridiculous for wanting to her to honor the money I've already paid her business's. I would NOT EVER purchase a gift card from them because they are likely to just change hands again. read more

The hairdresser that I had was Bianca. She seemed to be rather disinterested in the whole process. She did my hair and color. When I went to pay, I had initially been misquoted for a far lower cost. They still had me pay the higher fee (a difference of $50). The color, which was supposed to be permanent, lasted less than 2 weeks before it was gone from my hair. I called to report this and see if they would fix it. Bianca said I could come in and pay to have it redone. I said that I thought this should be redone for free considering the cost and how little time it had been. She said that she would talk to her manager and call me back and she never did.
