I had an appointment for the first time with Orly last week to do the ProCell micro-channeling. As soon as I walked in she made me feel welcome. I adored the atmosphere and the spa/salon was very clean. Prior to the treatment she made sure I was comfortable and prepared. The treatment itself took about an hour, while my face was getting comfortably numb Orly gave me a relaxing hand massage. My face afterwards was slightly red and felt sort of like a sunburn. It's been 5 days and my complexion looks brighter! I'm hoping to see more benefits as the weeks go on since micro-channeling is supposed to help your skin produce more collagen and elastin. My boss gave me a gift certificate years ago for a custom facial by Orly and I accidentally misplaced it. ‍ As fate would have it, I recently found it and saw it wasn't expired...woohoo! I booked an appt with Orly and boy, was I in for a treat. The atmosphere of the spa is inviting, spacious and calming and has all these little touches that make it a lovey space to relax and unwind. They offer a variety of facials, massages, permanent make up, acupuncture, spray tanning, waxing and hair services! Once meeting Orly, I liked her immediately. In my "many" years of trying to find a one stop shop to get my hair professionally done or wanted a pampered facial and massage, I finally found it all in Bella Sareena. I will admit I come to the salon mostly to get my hair done by the fabulous Martina, and I didn't like people touching my face (so was leery of trying a facial) but I received a facial gift certificate for a Christmas gift and I am hooked. Orly Perez, the owner of Bella Sareena, is so genuinely sweet and interacts with everyone who enters the salon, she wants you to experience that calmness and serenity everyone should have when entering a spa. But now on to the real reason why I am posting this review. I AM a real customer, I am not getting payment for my review and I DO use their products. I want to review specifically Orly's new skin care product "Signature Body Line" Lemon Verbena (body wash, lemon sugar body scrub (which I use for my face) they can't advertise it for the "face" but I use it and it is awesome... Bought a Groupon for 3 massages. These people do not return phone calls. I called them multiple times and not a single call got returned. I finally made 1 appointment only because they finally answered their phone. The day before my appointment, I got a call that the person had to cancel... I rescheduled WEEKS after my original appointment because I can only do Saturdays. My plan was 1 massage a month since I will be out of town for months after July 3, but because of the cancelation, it messes up the dates. I contacted Groupon to try to get a refund so I don't have to even bother setting foot here. If Groupon won't refund of course I will just make the best out of it but knock on wood they will. HORRIBLE customer service! UPDATE: The husband of Orly had either emailed me or called me (I forgot which method) saying that he had to hire a new staff or something but that I could get a free facial. Certain things aren't worth it even if free so I just didn't respond. Groupon gave me a refund. I canceled all the appointments weeks in advance and still Bella Sareena sent me emails that I had appointments LOL so I emailed back reminding them that I canceled all of them. The owner had gave me a call to apologize for the poor customer service that I've received last time. She further explained that she was out of town that week and was unaware the situation occurred at her salon. She plans to switch out some staffs to offer her customer better service. I have returned for a massage with Claudia. Again, she is outstanding in her technique. She has a gentle manner that really made you feel calm and at peace throughout the massage. During my massage, she did not rush to apply heavy pressure on my back but started out with a series of gentle strokes to warm up my muscles. She then apply a strong deep pressure to work on my neck and shoulder pain, and working my arms/hands to help alleviate the tension on my neck/shoulder. She further incorporated hot stone into her therapy session, which also really help relief my muscle tension and added soothing aromatherapy. read more

What a gem this place is... tucked away, on the North end of Cedros in the lovely Solana Beach... would've never known it was there, but sooo incredibly happy I bought this $39 Groupon deal for an hour massage. I bought it back in May, then forgot about it... & finally realized the other day that I only had 6 days left to redeem it before it expired. So I emailed them immediately and I received a very quick response (both a voicemail & return email) -- they were able to fit me in the next day, perfect! I arrived to a nearly empty parking lot in the back of a building...through the unassuming double doors I went, and was quickly transported to a tranquil, serene... magnificently decorated spa. It was apparent that a lot of loving detail when into every inch of this place. After a quick form to complete in their massive lobby, I was taken upstairs to the massage room...ahhhh, beyond peaceful - as every spa/massage room should be (I have a bad taste in my mouth from my last massage I had back in August at a dreadful place, which I will not name). Everything about Bella Sareena was just so refreshing, I just felt GOOD being there... and the atmosphere just oozed calmness - just what I needed after running a 5K that morning and the business of the last few days I'd had. Claudia was my masseuse - she was just extraordinary. I wish I could find more words to describe just how great she was... powerful both physically with her hands and mentally with her awareness of exactly what my tired body & overworked muscles needed. She also offered to use hot stones toward the end of the session - which were a welcomed addition to the massage... that heat & pressure just adds another element of "ohhh & ahhh" that I think we ALL need regularly. There was not one part of my body that felt neglected, from my head to my toes... I was extremely relaxed & rejuvenated - mind, body & soul. When she finished & walked out, I laid there for a moment doing deep breathing & thanking my body for all its hard work... rewarding it with this massage from Claudia at Bella Sereena was a very wise choice! Being a man, I have only 1 facial before meeting Sherlyn. I have been in the sun playing sports and raising 3 boys almost daily for decade, and decided getting a good facial wouldn't hurt. After becoming friends and learning about skin care from Sherlyn, I opted to do some research about facials by consulting other skin care experts and I realized how much Sherlyn actually knew about skin care. She not only took the time and discussed all my options, once we decided to do the Hydra Facial she explained each step as it was performed and the extractions that were in those products. I went to Bella Sareena for a 2nd time for a massage. The 1st time was awesome, the 2nd time even better. I got a deep tissue from Claudia, and told her I had been working out a lot lately. I bought Bella Serena's $79 for three 60-minute massages on Dec 29, 2012. I bought it because they had all 5 stars. 1. Tried scheduling for so many months, no-one returned phone calls. After months of trying, somehow I got the owner and got my 1st appointment on May 10. Ordinary massage by a therapist who just joined, I still tipped generously. 2. Then I could not have anyone return my phone calls for 2nd massage. I called almost every day requesting 2 more massages. They never returned any calls. Finally one day manager Alexis picked up the phone and made an appointment for almost 2 months later for Friday Aug 19 at 3pm. They said they had no opening because of groupon although I could go there practically any day. She was extremely rude. On everything, she kept repeating "we are doing our best". 3. Today, while I am driving for my apt, Alexis left me a message at 2:58pm saying I am late for my 2:45pm apt. When I arrived there at 3:08pm (yes, I was late because Solana Beach/Delmar has summer races going and access to their street is congested as they are off of Solana Beach train station). They refused to take me as my apt was 2:45pm. I tried clarifying but manager Alexis was extremely rude and said "it is what it is and its Ok if "you" messed up the timing". Tired, exhausted after being in traffic for 1 hour, I asked her to re-schedule the apt, she said "OK same time next week, I'm booking you for 3pm next Friday". (PLEASE note" same time 3pm???"). They are doing this purposely as they had already redeemed groupon and can get away without having to deliver remaining 2 massages. I complained to groupon and they returned me half the amount (although I requested 2/3 of total amount to refund) STAY AWAY. You have been WARNED. Alexis will get your blood boiling. read more

Horrible Customer Service I purchased two Bloomspot deals for Bella Sareena. I tried to call, but got no answer, so I booked an appointment for one via their online booking system. When I showed up for my appointment, the only person in the salon looked at me like I was crazy for being there. As it turns out, there was no one there to provide the service. They didn't believe I even had an appointment until I showed them my conformation email. Then, they checked the system and found--yep!--I was on there. Then, things took an even stranger turn. I was forced to talk to the owner of the salon on some random worker's cell phone. The owner was in a car or something and was asking me what the situation was. What? This was extremely uncomfortable. The owner was talking to me and the worker was talking to me at the same time, and I couldn't get a word in edgewise. Talk about uncomfortable. Basically, the situation culminated to me being in the wrong because I didn't call, I booked online. Okay... They tried for a long time to get someone to come in to provide the service, but no one was available. That, I can understand. I told them gracefully I would be asking Bloomspot for a refund. I was assured that if I called the salon, I could book any complimentary service I wanted with Theresa. I thought that was a really nice gesture, and I intended to do that. However, every time I called and left a message--no response! No one answers the phone, no one calls back. Awful customer service. I am not sure how anyone gets a service here, it seems like everyone who does, likes it...but how they actually make an appointment is a mystery to me. I wrote Bloomspot an email detailing my ordeal and suggested they never do business with them again. I know I won't. It's 2013. Get your technology under control. 5 out of 5 stars for my treatment, without a doubt, my treatment was as good as it gets! I received the Aphrodite microderm treatment at Bella Sareena. It's been one day since my treatment and my skin looks and feels amazing. It was also a wonderful experience. Prior to the microderm, I was surprised with a relaxing foot bath AND wonderful foot scrub with Orly. She was extremely kind and knowledgeable throughout my treatment, which was catered to my skin after our consultation. During the treatment, I was given a relaxing foot & shoulder massage which felt luxurious and not just "average" like with most facials. Overall, Belle Seerena is a lovely, spacious spa...it's not a full service spa (steam room, etc) but it offers a ton of services with staff that I feel is uniquely warm and VERY kind. I have had lots of massages before but never a prenatal one, so I guess I don't have much to compare it to, but she was so accommodating about working around my limitations, and managed to fit in a full body massage plus do a lot of work on my lower back which has been killing me. I had a gift certificate for a $175 facial, which according to their menu entailed a 75 minute facial. I was running a little behind and called to let the esthetician know. I arrived at 11:15am. The esthetician asked if I was allergic to any ingredients and then said she would keep the facial "simple." She didn't bother to ask about my skin concerns or if there was anything I'd like to focus on. From the get-go, it felt like she was in a rush. I got the feeling that because I had a gift certificate (I bid on it and won at my son's school auction) and wasn't paying for the service out of pocket, she felt it was a waste of her time. During the facial I inquired about any special treatments that might help my skin look better. She commented that red light therapy would help my capillaries. I asked if that was something she could do during the facial. She hesitated and then replied that she could but if she was going to do it, she would have had to do it at the beginning of the facial. Something that would have been nice to know at the beginning! She rushed through the facial, did a mask for a few minutes then did a couple extractions and put some kind of cream on my face, never explaining what it was. Then, the facial was over- it lasted a total of 45 minutes. The entire experience was a waste of my time and money- The money I spent at the auction went to a good cause but the money I spent on a babysitter so I could go have what I was thought was going to be an hour and fifteen minute fabulous facial, was definitely a waste. I'm wondering where these other reviewers must have gone because it wasn't the Bella Sereena I tried. A friend and I bought a groupon for the massage. Our appointments were for 10am, and since there was only one massage therapist, we had to piggy back our appointments. They assured me that while we waited, we would be treated to a foot massage (which our groupon also promised), herbal tea, and a relaxing waiting area. Not even close. When we arrived, the lights were just going on, not one of the three women putting on their make-up bothered to even glance our way, let alone a greeting/welcome/hello. It was SO cold in their warehouse, that I literally had to sit next to my friend to keep warm. No tea until I finally asked, and then it was put into a tiny glass that was wiped clean by hand. We each had to fill out a multi page questionnaire before my friend was finally lead somewhere upstairs. For an hour I waited in that huge freezing room, NOT A SOUL in sight. Noone. Anybody could have backed up their truck and driven away with the whole lot!! Needless to say, there was no foot massage. The ONLY reason i gave this place 2 stars is because the massage therapist (Tova) was pretty good and her massage room was very nice. read more

Getting a massage from Bill is a true delight! What I often have experienced with other massages is that they are either so superficial that they feel nice while you are receiving it and than afterwards it is like it never happened, or else they are such intense bodywork trying to address issues that they are a bit painful. Bill asks a lot of questions up front to understand your unique needs, and somehow manages to achieve the best of both worlds. It was a super relaxing experience with no pain at all, but it was also very therapeutic. So much tension was released and the stiffness in my neck is gone!
