The tear out and install was done in one day, a little under 400 sq feet! They made it easy, had all the tools necessary, worked well the different deliverers and never needed anything from us. Every now and then I would walk out to take a look and they were super responsive to seeing if I had any questions or wanted explanations of the process. My backyard was a MESS. I park my Motorhome in the back but it was just dirt, gravel and a dusty mess. I wanted a "driveway" with decomposed Granite and some good turf. Kenny came out and gave me an estimate. he wasn't the cheapest but he gave me good "vibes" and NEVER asked for money up front. All the other places that quoted me wanted 50% down, but right on Bella's proposal it said "By Calif State law, deposits shall be 10% or 1000.00 whichever is less". so I decided to go with Bella Turf. Well let me tell you, I don't think they anticipated how much my yard really needed. what was supposed to be a 1-2 day job ended up much longer. that said, these guys worked their butts off in the hottest weather we've had this summer and my yard provides ZERO shade! On day 3 I needed to leave town, so we worked it out where they could gain access to my yard so they could keep working on it, and when I got home it was "done". I found a coupe of spots that weren't quite right. I took pictures, sent them to the Owner Tony, and within about 5 minutes he called me and said he could see a could of issues. never once did I have to tell him what was wrong, he owned it right away and we set up a day for a 2 man crew to come out and take care of the issues. Now my yard doesn't stress me out! So you may ask yourself, if things didn't go as expected and wasn't exactly right the first time, why 5 stars. well let me tell you. GREAT communication, the crew was ON TIME every day. they worked their asses off, you could tell they took pride in their work (and yes, even the best might miss a spot or 3 when working all day in 103+ degree weather all day) the job was bigger than expected, and when I showed some problems they were quick to respond and make it right. on top of that, nobody tried to get more $$$ out of me, they stuck to their quoted proposal and really went above and beyond! Contacting Bella Turf and Greens was my first step to a very successful turf install. Of the several companies I contacted, they were the one of the only ones to respond in a timely manner. Of the two others that came out to give me a bid, Tony, owner, of Bella Turf gave me a great amount of information about the quality of the turf he uses as compared to the samples that others had dropped off. I could see the height of it, as well as the natural color. Also, the other two were going to use bender board around the border and were going to install a rectangular shaped turf. Tony used to be a landscaper as well and he suggested an actual design integrating the large rocks I already had in my yard. And they use a method of rolling the ends so that it looks natural around the edges without using bender board. I think the pictures speak for themselves as far as the finished product. A note about the installers: they knew what they had to do and they got it done in several hours, and cleaned up all debris. This entire process was so SMOOTH! I'm not really an avid Yelp reviewer, so the fact I'm sitting here on vacation writing something up for Bella Turf is testimony of what a great company they were for us. Long story short, if you've ever seen any of those lunar rover pictures of the moon landscape, that's pretty much the condition our backyard was in. It was not a small job, and I brought in many, many contractors for estimates that ranged up to $25k apart. Bella was towards the lower end of that range, but that's not even the main reason I picked them. Since we needed some hardscaping in addition to landscaping, I liked that Bella actually has two separate companies (Bella Turf & Greens and Bella Concrete) under the same ownership, so we were able to negotiate a contract with both at the same time. This saved us from having to find separate contractors to do different parts of the same project, which would have increased the likelihood of something not getting done while neither contractor takes responsibility...ask me how I know about that. More importantly, Spencer was hands down the most receptive and communicative project estimator I met with. Every customer has their own needs (ours was making a kid-safe area), so I don't care that rich people want to look rich with ornate tiles and other rich-peopley things. I was getting really sick of companies coming in and saying things like "No you don't want that," or "Here's what you really need." Predictably, their insistence on upselling blew my budget away. But Spencer was great at taking our overarching goals first, putting himself in our shoes, and then rigidly trying to adhere to our budget and find multiple avenues for us to cut costs in some areas if we decided to invest in others. He even found a way for us to splurge on a putting green! The workers were all extremely polite, especially Orlando and Omar, and even the co-owner Juan came by and made himself available. I really appreciate that they didn't hesitate to knock on the door and ask as questions came up and made sure we were getting what we wanted. The only area I can really think of that would've been nice is if we had a checkout each day of the job if for no other reason than to have predictability on which day they'd be coming next so we could know when to move our cars out of the driveway. That said, whenever I'd text them to ask I'd get a reasonably prompt reply. The willingness of Bella to come back out and work on small details after the main job was already done was definitely tops among the many contractors we've employed over the past few years, which is especially noteworthy since they hand to travel from Folsom and Lodi to our Rocklin home. In short, we ended up getting exactly what we were looking for at a reasonable price, and the customer service was head and shoulders above other contract landscape companies. read more

We paid quite a bit for a very lazy job...we have square stepping stones and they laid the grass at same level of stone (duhhhh) so now the artificial turf is too high and looks very bad. (about 2" above the stone) I spoke to one of the owners about this and he said, it is a safety measure so you don't roll your ankle...really! IT IS an accident waiting to happen with turf too high. I did pick the shortest turf, but Bella Turf and Greens installed it incorrectly. Everyone asks, why is your turf so high...I think it is due to laziness. The job was done pretty fast. 5 days for the pavers and concrete and just a day for the turf. You can definitely trust this company, they are very reliable. There was a white stain on the pavers but Patrick right away came even on a Sunday to check on it. And then someone came back to fix it. It was nice to see the effort. The turf product looks awesome, but the business etiquette and communication of Bella Turf from a customer standpoint is a headache to deal with. I paid for 2 projects which costs were about $18,000 dollars so I speak from a non biased and objective experience. The first job, my neighbors driveway was blocked with hills of dirt so after work I shoveled it so they could access their drive way. The person I contacted told me that no one could come out to move it as I sent the picture to him and I would post it if I still had it. The job is done looks great and Bella Green called back almost a month later because they didn't know if they even charged me for an approximate $6,000 job. I think they need to better manage their accounts and bring quality vs quantity in their work. That was my impression the first job. 2nd job- Costs 12,600 per the contract - Time frame per contract 2-3days ( Actual time 5 days) no weather complications either Again, great product, but horrible business etiquette plus tools and construction is still at my house a week later. There was a machine brought the first day that was a bob cat sort a thing but stayed parked in my drive way and not even used the entire time 5 days of the job! Did they charge me for that? They did not account for the fence and playground there so they couldn't drive it in AND they already inspected the work site prior and did a job at my house already. So they had 2 guys, which worked their butt off for a day and the next day no one even showed up. THEN a delivery truck dropped of artificial turf base, rock and walked around looking for Bella Turf employees and no one showed up. SO my wife asked him to please drop off the turf and base rock on the drive way because the first time they blocked the drive way AND he said, " the grass is 500 pounds no way I can," and left it in front of public street. What if it was stolen overnight or the fact that the city could get called for leaving that on public street was not even considered. AND THEY DID THAT THE FIRST JOB ALREADY !! When the project was done,I asked if they could not deposit a check I initially wrote and come back so I could charge partial payment on credit card and they still deposited it!! Even though I told them a week before they withdrew the funds that I needed for personal living expenses. I called Tony ( THE OWENER) this morning about 0803 to pick up their left over construction but no response yet and ask why they ignored my request to charge me on a credit card. I do like George, who was one of the 2 guys who showed up to really bust his butt and maintained professionalism. The workers who did the job did a great job and product looks good. The management and business aspect is horrible. I have another job but probably won't ask this place. This company is QUANTITY VS QUALITY. read more

I originally thought to keep my business directly in Brentwood and made a terrible mistake buying an overpriced install from a local guy on Walnut Avenue. It was a horrible experience--he installed clearly defective turf at the very least. I decided to search for a new contractor to fix my problems. Bella Turf's ratings and generous response made me contract with Juan to remove the bad work and do the job properly. His guys removed the other guy's defective turf and inappropriate substrate (chunks of concrete!!), they cleaned the prep area like new, and installed beautiful turf properly (with proper substrate, properly joined seam, and infill, etc). The installers worked together and knew exactly what to do. They also protected my new plants that closely surround the lawn area. I was worried for my plants but at the end of the day my concern for the plants turned to concern for one of the installers who while he was protecting my plants received a thorn from one of the plants in his backside for his efforts!! The photos will show I have a small from yard but remember they had to remove a nasty job from the first installer before properly performing the job in only one day. I contacted Bella Turf to do my lawn based on seeing work that was done for my neighbor. They responded quickly to my install appt which was unexpected since we were under a stay at home order. I was really excited about my appt and knew exactly what I wanted which was a putting green and 2x2 on the grass. Greg showed up on time and I explained to him what I wanted. He was a nice guy but I believe he may have little experience or new with the company. First off, I told him I wanted the black and white flags on my putting green that I saw on my neighbors. He said they must have purchased because he didn't think we had them. Hmmm I said, the picture on your website has the black and white flags. When he checked with his manager, the manager confirmed that those flags are supplied by Bella. Second, it took over 2 weeks to get a quote. He stated that the guy who did drawings didn't work for the company. Initially, he said I would have to pay for drawings (about 150) which I thought was strange. However, when he did send the drawing he stated I didn't have to pay. I informed him that I would need an extra drain on side of my house because that was required by my HOA. I submitted my paperwork to HOA for them to do the work. Hoa wanted to know the flow of the drains so I asked Greg. He told me he didn't understand what I was talking about because they are just going to pop out existing drains. There are a few other things to mention like it takes him days to get back to me. It's been a few weeks and I still haven't received updated quote. I really wanted to use Bella, but I think Greg is inexperienced or too busy. I'm the customer and I shouldn't have to continue to followup. read more
