Purchased 4 pounds of Pistachio for 90.20 and never received a confirmation. Tried to email them and they didn't recognize my order. I finally received them and the quality was horrible, not green color but gray. I was traveling the day I got them so I didn't have a chance to return them. Their customer service was horrible when I emailed them several times to confirm the order was received and, as mentioned, they did not recognize my order so didn't want to deal with this again. I never heard of them but the 11 review that gave them high rating is probably their staff or no one purchased pistachios from them. Would never order from them again and I am out 90.20. read more

I'd bought several dried fruits from them that were perfectly edible, but my last order of organic dried apricots was awful - dry as bone and with, I imagine, all the sweet taste of cardboard. I realize that dried fruit is supposed to be dry, but these were way beyond the pale and almost as though they were leftovers from the prior year. Roughly $100 worth of fruit tossed because not only were they tasteless, but I had a genuine concern about breaking a tooth because the fruit was so dessicated and hard. But what was worse was that I left a negative review on their website and somehow, in some mysterious way it never was displayed. How many other negative reviews also, somehow, didn't get displayed that might have warned customers of this or other issues? My last order was, in fact, my last order EVER from them. Bella Viva is yet another amazing fruit stand at the Ferry Building Farmer's Market. They provide endless dried fruit choices. Apples, nectarines, peaches, raisins, figs, apricots, pluots...all free to taste! My favorites are the white nectarines. They are soft & chewy & I can barely get back to my office without eating the whole bag. They are perfect for baking (scones are a favorite weekend treat of mine) or just plain snacking. You could mix & match & make a yummy trail mix too. I'm not sure which days they are at the Ferry Building, but they were there last Tuesday. I'll be checking back in with them regularly so maybe some of my purchases will actually make their way home with me some day. read more

I've bought several 5lb bags of dried mixed fruit from them via mail-order. I liked it a lot & would like to buy more. Also, they ship quickly & it's free over some amount, that I've always exceeded. The fruit was a good "mix' of the items it was supposed to include, not mostly prunes as many mixed fruits turn out to be. About six months ago when I was about to order, I saw that the price rose 50%. That's a lot. Imagine if your rent went up by 50% or your electric bill. That was just too much of a raise for me to swallow. For now, I've cut ties with them. Before, their price was in-line with other sellers. I realize that their's could be worth more for the quality, but not 50% more. read more

During the summer and fall months, this is one of my favorite stands at the Ferry Farmer's Market. For the summer, white peaches and white nectarines are in season. They had a special a week or two ago $10.00 per flat (16 to 21 peaches), a great deal considering that they normally charge $3.00/lb. The trick with their white nectarines and white peaches are to handle them according to how you like it. For crunchy and crispy texture with slight sweetness, you can eat them right away or wait a day or two after placing them in the fridge. For sweet like sugar goodness, leave them out in the kitchen (away from sunlight) and wait until there is a little give when you squeeze them... no sexual connotations here. Their plums (red meat) and dried fruits are quite good too. During the fall months, I look forward to their persimmons (Hachiya - soft and Fuyu - firm). I am extremely pleased with my online purchase from BellaViva. First, their customer service person was super helpful when I called them the same day I placed my online order. She told me exactly how long it would take to get my products and what to write in the Comments field to ensure my package arrives before I need it. Their online ordering was also very easy. Secondly, I opened my package today (arrived 2 days early) and it was packaged so beautifully and with the utmost care. The products I ordered are for a host/hostess gift and I'm super excited to give this to them. Finally, I added a gift to myself (honey roasted almonds) and I don't think I've ever tasted anything so heavenly. I loved the freshness of the almonds and the lightly sweet/salty coating. I've ordered from them twice to deliver to my mother, recently for mother's day and once previously for her birthday. Besides money, it's very difficult to send my parents anything because they live in a remote town with no access for UPS. So this is one of the few places that allow you to send via USPS. Their service has been fantastic and they always respond quickly to my e-mail inquiries. My mother loves their dried fruit, especially the persimmons and mangoes. I haven't personally tried their fruit but if my mom likes their stuff then it's good by me. They saved my bacon this year, by getting a order sent on time for Mothers day. read more

I discovered Bella Viva's dried fruits at Dean and DeLuca in Napa Valley and kept thinking about how delicious they were. I decided that rather than buy through Dean and DeLuca I would go to the source of the fruit -- and found Bella Viva Orchards on line. I ordered over 40 gifts from them this year -- the California assortment of dried fruits, lightly salted almonds and pistachios. I had them send one to me so I could see what it looked like and tasted myself. They did a beautiful job with the packaging and the printing of our gift message on a vibrantly-colored card. It was important that the packaging not be Christmas themed, since many of our clients are Jewish. I sent all the holiday gifts in time for Hanukkah, which is early this year.
