I've been driving past this spot for over 50 years and just stopped in and I was so disappointed I hadn't stopped sooner. The delicious thick and creamy shake was heaven to my taste buds after long day-to-day the river. Fast as a fresh hand scooped milkshake can be and worth the wait. The lady behind the counter was so sweet and patient with us as the choices had us lost in our thoughts. Quaint area to wait or there is an adorable gift shop filled with delightful treats while you wait as well. I have a new favorite ice cream spot. read more

Yes, it's all that. For decades it seems, I have been passing this place on my way to and from the Sierras. More often in the last year as we drive to La Grange, CA to support the Odd Fellows monthly breakfast fundraiser. Today, I was at a meeting across the Blvd. and down the hill and decided to stop in to bring a milkshake home to my wife. I am SO glad I did. I got us two, chocolate almond butter for her and vanilla same for me. They were GREAT, which means we will be stopping more often on our way down Yosemite, and we haven't even checked out all the other goodies they offer. WOW FACTOR? Yes, friendly staff and lovely display of so many items. HAVE AGAIN: Almond butter chocolate shake was very different but very good. Triple-dipped chocolate malt balls were pretty good but not outstanding. All the items we purchased were fun and interesting to try. NOT HAVE AGAIN: Dark chocolate mint cookie were just ok. This was a recommended stop on the Central Valley's almond blossom tour. It's bit further out from the other stops near Modesto, but it's a scenic drive through roadside orchards and worth the trip, The Waterford location not only has the country store, but also hillsides filled with almond blossoms and a designated walking path through the orchards. In the distance you can see the snow capped Sierras from their lot, as well! It's nice to be able to stretch your legs and get some up close orchards photos. The country store is stocked full of almond products, honey, souvenirs and sells food. There are picnic tables outside to enjoy your treats. The almond trees bloom usually between mid-February and early March, so be sure to time your visit. I purchased some pumpkin spice almonds, dark chocolate walnuts and some local honey-very happy with my treats. The main lot by the shop is small but there's also parking across the street. Roberts ranks #1 on my list of stops in the 2024 Almond Blossom tour! read more

A nice little stop on our way over to Yosemite. We indeed enjoyed a famous almond butter shake. Very thick, unique taste and we enjoyed very much (when in Rome, right?). They sell packaged nuts and chocolates and have coffee and sandwich items too. The place is small, but we felt like the service was very friendly. Very bad/nonexistent WIFI, but an Amazon Hub locker spot inside. A bathroom for customers in the back that was clean and coincidentally smelled like birthday cake. read more

I just turned 78 and had today the best SHAKE I have ever consumed. All this after a long hike in Redhills....

Went today for the first time with my aunt and uncle. I'm visiting from Los Angeles. We got sandwiches and milkshakes for lunch. Then took a rustic lasagna, Mac and cheese, and a boysenberry pie to bake for dinner. The milkshake was delicious and the pulled pork sandwich I got was pretty good too. The lasagna was sooo delicious. I'm very picky and this was well seasoned and fresh tasting. Mac and cheese was good, wished it had more cheese sauce it was a little dry. Customer service was great too. Everything came out pretty quickly. And the three women working very nice. read more

The pistachio almond milkshake was fire. It was sweet and chocked full of pistachios. Not a lot but just enough to enjoy. Their milkshakes are thick, creamy and good. Now, the sandwiches are ok we had turkey, swiss, and peppercorns on sourdough that was lightly toasted. Really lightly toasted and the sandwiches do not have tomato, lettuce, or onions as a choice only pickled jalapeños and peppercorns nothing fresh. The other 4-star was the reasonable prices on the popcorn and nut varieties. A large variety of flavored popcorn, nuts, and candy. The great aspect was the clean bathroom. We had never been in before but heard nice things so we decided to stop in on our way back home.. first off it's a very cute place with lots of cute little things an yummy food.. however we instantly felt very unwelcome by the young workers, they were not only extremely rude but they talked about us so that we could hear , when I asked what was funny? They just separated and had nothing else to say.. when we ordered our milk shake the girls looked at one another and giggled , we quickly found out why .. it wasn't really so much milkshakes as they were just super thick scoops of ice cream.. cute place.. too bad the customer service so disappointing. read more

We had to stop here to get a quick bite and ordered the nachos. They came with only nacho cheese and bbq steak I asked for peperchinis on mine and they accidentally put them on mine and my husbands. When he asked them to remake they took them to the back and just picked them out. Pepercinis have juices that made the nachos still spicy. The bbq steak was obviously cooked in a crockpot making it soggy tasting and they gave us chips that were so broken it made the whole thing inedible. Cute place to make a quick stop on my favorite road from Modesto to Sonora: easy turn into the parking lot, cold A/C, coffee and shake bar ready-to-go. This would also be a great place to pick up gifts: hostess gifts, holiday gifts, etc. Or office snacks. Local nuts are good snacks to hide inside your file cabinet for that hungry three o'clock hour. The cashier was friendly but not pushy. She showed me where to sample the chocolate-covered (and other-covered) nuts, told me a little about the products, and made herself scarce. They tasted great. Prices looked reasonable. Unfortunately, when I stopped by I had just bough a huge bag of locally roasted corn-nuts, so my file cabinet snack drawer was pretty well stocked. I first was at this charming place 15 to 20 years ago when visiting my daughter and her family in Waterford. I live in Indiana but each time I visit I always make a point to visit the store although I must say it has been a number of years since I have been there. Wow, what a selection! The biggest challenge is what to choose from all these delicious goodies. I'm a fan of the chocolate dipped apricots myself. And love being able to get natural almonds and pecans. Especially like the fact that I can order online, send gifts to my friends around the country, and then they can order online.
