It wasn't until after they got it home they realized it appeared used - scratched up and dusty. They had to load it back up for a return visit. The store workers didn't care, just took the return. Then we had to call back to the store to remind them to refund their deposit. Crappy thing to do to any customer, let alone the elderly.

After having an awkward experience with sales people at this location and a terrible time getting a…read morenon-damaged (very expensive) sectional, I am feeling obligated to write this review. In 2021 we were in looking for a sectional for our newly built home that would be finished in a few months. When we went into the store to purchase, we had been told our sales person was no longer with the store but another salesperson could help us. I was stunned as I was JUST in email contact with the sales person hours before. It was an awkward encounter and the sales person in front of us ignored my flabbergasted look. It seemed like everyone at the place was looking at us and talking about us. We were treated like we were peasants who knew nothing. We ended up not getting some features on the couch even though we thought we had ordered them but we weren't going to complain. We got the couch ordered and left, still feeling stunned and like we had cost someone their job. I truly can't explain the feeling in the store that day or how short and inconvenienced our sales person acted for helping us. We didn't care, we were getting our dream leather sectional! When the couch came in, we had them keep it in their warehouse until all of the pieces came in (it was a sectional and delivery times were still delayed from Covid). The sales person called my husband one day and asked if they could schedule delivery (even though they were still waiting on one piece to come in). We decided to wait for the last piece. They then asked if we wanted to pay our remaining balance so when we called to set up delivery that would already be taken care of. It didn't matter to us so my husband asked about the current financing offers. We were going to utilize their 0% financing. The current offer according to our sales person was 12 months 0% financing. My husband specifically asked for 72 months but was told they did not have that. My husband asked again and the sales person assured him that the best he could get was 12 months. Hours later both of us got an email advertisement from La-Z-Boy stating to come shop with 72 months 0% financing. Our sales person lied. My husband called and tried to get it changed but was told he couldn't even though he had not yet signed the agreement (it was set up for him to come sign in person in the store the next day). This is where the frustration begins to build. When they brought our first couch and left us with a broken couch, we didn't complain. In fact, we waited very patiently as they made us claim the broken couch on our warranty (even though it was broken en route to our place). They sent a very nice man out to help us. He was very apologetic and gave us great service (I would give him 5 stars!). Once he couldn't fix the couch (and 2 personal days off of work later) they ordered us a new one. The day this couch was going to be delivered (and a 3rd personal day off work later) we got a message from the driver that the piece was damaged. There was a large rip in the leather. We appreciated the driver letting us know and he took it back to the warehouse. My husband then contacted our sales person to see what was next. At this point we are just jaded. We just finally got the third attempt delivered and there's a rip in the fabric AGAIN. I truly couldn't believe it when my husband told me. So here we are, almost a year later from our initial delivery and we still haven't gotten to enjoy a non-damaged couch. There are other pieces that have been damaged since and we don't even want to claim since the 3 damaged pieces so far they have made us claim on our warranty and we don't want to have to deal with our bully sales person any longer. We feel like a pain but just want a couch that isn't damaged. We love La-Z-Boy and usually find them worth the price. This experience, however, we could have done without. I've come to the realization this one will never not be damaged. Next order I will definitely be doing through a different location. I stumbled upon this store way back in February/March during the Van Wert Chocolate Walk. It was on of the stops and the moment I walked in the store, i gave an audible gasp. This place was beautiful! The decor was amazing! I was immediately imagining how it would look like in the house i was buying. I knew at that moment this store was dangerous... because it would separate me from my money in no time! I spoke with the owner of the store, Joanne, when i found out that they also did drapes. My new home came with some awfully garish drapes... purple drapes!?!?! Black drapes for a dining room? Ridiculous! I needed some new drapes and Joanne promised me she would show me some great options. She came to my new home and measured, she came up with someone wonderful ideas. During this time i also found out she was an interior designer. I just hired her to help me decorate the home and get me new drapes and decor to make my home beautiful. This was a great decision! Joanne has impeccable taste! She listens and understands the type of style her customers have... she then takes that and brings pieces that tastefully use that style to adorn and enrich your home. So much of my home decor now is from her store! I love how beautiful my home is!!!! Love it!!!!! If you are looking to change the drapes in your home... this is the place! To his credit, the owner, Jef Forward, intervened to submit a revised proposal. He also had the entire garage slab replaced with new footings for the bathroom addition, along with the drywall and framing that the sinking slab had caused. Plus, the firm has not invoiced me for the work. Kudos.

Forward Design has put so much thought into their comprehensive approach from the initial meeting, throughout construction, and down to the final details. We not only love the results, but we were regularly impressed with how they handled every step and detail of the process. Organizationally, it is clear that there has been a high degree of intentionality and investment in the cultivation of their work place culture. This translates to clarity, open communication, and collaboration with the client. Each member of their team we worked with were talented, artistic, responsive, and skilled. I…read morewanted my home to look nice without breaking the bank, and no matter what I bought or did it never looked right. At the same time, I didn't want to do whatever someone else told me to do. Cindy is AMAZING! She gets a feel for who you are and what your tastes are in a very short time. She's also very strategic about her work. She helps you plan from the broad to the specific, and works with the flow of the whole house as well as individual rooms. She is BRILLIANT at color and lighting, and does all of the legwork to find other materials that complement the project. She came back with a range of recommendations that all reflect what we discussed. (At the time I was redoing all of the rooms in a small home on the West side). Everything was completely affordable and in almost every instance I went with her suggestions. Shortly after doing all the work I put the house on the market and got RAVE reviews on everything. When I moved into my new home, we needed to paint and do a few other upgrades. Again, Cindy came to the rescue and ten years later, I'm still getting complements on the paint colors and other advice she gave me. She's now helping with a kitchen facelift, and I'm so grateful to have her guidance. I've learned a great deal about how to pick things and make them work together in the time I've spent with her. For big projects she'll always be the first person I call. Not that we agree on every detail, but she always gives me the "best practice" so that I have a foundation for making my choices.
