When you're already in pain, you do not want to sustain anymore! And that's what Bellaire ER nailed! From the moment I walked in, Front Desk staff Stephanie greeted me and put me at ease. You could get a sense of the family environment as I was escorted to my room. You did not previously hear about a wait time as there was no wait, I finished filling out my paperwork in the patient's room. Everyone came in with no long wait time from the other, Dr. Quintanilla, who came in to greet and discuss what was going on with me before any next steps were even made, Nurse Stephanie, and Radiology Technician, James. The family environment I felt when I arrived was prevalent upon departure, even with the exchange of front desk staff, now Brian, greeting me good night. Fortunately or unfortunately, in the Spring of 2023, I hit all of my out of pocket costs with insurance. I didn't owe anything to any provider for the rest of 2023. Update: BCBD says Bellaire ER never received this bill from them. It is a fake bill. They originally billed insurance in September. They are past the date for billing insurance as well. Just researched further with my insurance company. One of us was charged $1150 for a covid test and the other was charged $2314!!!!!! And we got the tests at the same time and on the same day. And they submitted the claims using two different company names, Osiris Emergency Services and the other was West Gray Properties. i wish I had paid the $150 in cash like the sign said instead of submitting to my insurance company. this is what they had to say: " By law, you presented to an Emergency room for a Covid test. We are an Emergency room. Not an urgent care or testing center. These tests and equipment cost us millions of dollars not to mention the staff to administer them. That's why we are required by law to bill as such. Go to any hospital ER or freestanding ER and I promise the bill will be identical for insurance. I'll even pay the bill if it's not. I can get a covid test for $35 at any other ER location. And I did so just recently at Signature Care ER. Paid my copay, insurance paid another $35. I am leaving this review because it is so important for people to take time to share their experience at any establishment. I have been coughing all night with a sore throat. I was weak in bed at home alone and knew I needed to get medical help. A friend told me about telemedicine visit with Bellaire ER. I booked the appointment and got a call from Dr. Quintinilla at the time I requested a call. He got all information about my medical history and then asked about my symptoms. He then sent a script for antibiotics. I am so thankful to get the help that I needed without having to inconvenience anyone on short notice to take me to the doctor or endanger myself others on the street by driving. I took my husband to this location in December 2023 because he couldn't stay awake. This facility refused to see him because I couldn't find his insurance card. A day later I took him to another ER facility and they performed an ekg on him and he was in stage 4 heart failure. He suffered cardiac arrest twice and was life flighted to Memorial Hermann hospital where he was in the ICU for 1 month. My advice is to never go to this ER facility because they couldn't care less if you die. read more

So I walk out of my room to speak with the doctor who is sitting behind the computer who can barely look me in the eyes and ask him do I have to ride in the ambulance because I just paid 3,550$ UPFRONT and Ik the ride with be another GRAND or so! He tells me it will be a couple HUNDRED and that if I would refuse the ride that I wouldn't have a room at the hospital I was being transferred too (but I'm dying?????). Bellaire ER is our new ER! We discovered that when it comes to a quick thorough evaluation, caring interaction and proper treatment, this is the place to go in or near the Bellaire area. My elderly neighbor fell and gashed his arm. He refused the local hospital ER because of the extremely long wait time and impersonal care he had experienced in past after hour visits. So we tried Bellaire ER. Not the experience we expected: ~ Much to our surprise I was able to drop my elderly neighbor off 35 feet from the front desk and park 20 feet from the door. ~ By the time I let him off, parked and followed him in, Carolina had begun his check-in. ~ Five minutes later Stephanie the nurse had evaluated his wound and was patiently performing a thorough evaluation history. ~ Dr Zaidi reviewed the wound, considered medical history and current meds, provided medical advise, instructed patient and nurse on how to proceed. ~ Nurse Stephanie cleaned and dressed the wound, provided additional dressings to go, and ended the visit with a very positive demeaner which ended up turning what began as an unfortunate accident into a much more pleasant experience. ~ We were "In and out" in less than an hour and feeling great that we had received competent, proper and pleasant treatment. * Hopefully my neighbor won't need more emergency care in the near future, but if he does we know exactly where to go. read more

I took my Mom here AFTER I called to see if they accept Medicare AND that they had the capability to do ultrasound testing. My Mom also had an advertisement from the Bellaire ER where it clearly stated on the flyer that Medicare was accepted. The person who answered the phone confirmed this and confirmed that they had ultrasound . It is an ordeal to get my mom out of the car- she was in so much pain- couldn't walk. We get taken back immediately as there is no other patients. The nurse was very nice and patient- took my Mom's medical history and vitals. The Dr walks in- takes a glance at my Mom's lower leg, foot and ankle and says- "I cant do anything for you- you need a Doppler (ultrasound) to look for blood clots. I said- yes, we know- I called and was told you could do that. He said- well we can do it in our ER but not Urgent Care- WHAT? It has and you advertise Bellaire ER not urgent care- he said well, we can only bill Medicare through Urgent Care and the Ultrasound is not available through Urgent Care. I told him- this is so deceptive and misleading- I even called to inquire and was not told this. His reply was- Im only doing what Im told. Unbelievable. DO NOT GO TO BELLAIRE ER UNLESS IS IT A TRUE EMERGENCY AND YOU CAN'T GET TO ANY OTHER ER! I made the mistake of driving myself to Bellaire ER after a minor car accident in August, rather than going to an urgent care. I learned the hard way both that ER's like this charge more than urgent care clinics and that Bellaire ER is a hot mess. I came in for an X-ray of my neck just to make extra sure that I didn't have any internal damage from the accident, and I got some anti-inflammatories to avoid potential future swelling. When I got the bill weeks later for well over $3,000, I called them shocked. Once I explained why I was calling to the receptionist, she told me that I needed to call the finance person directly on his cell phone. This seemed strange to me, but I wasn't really given another option. I called their head of billing/finance, Maurelio, and he offered to negotiate the price with me if I were to pay my bill immediately and in cash. Again, I guess I should have listened to my tingling spider-sense, but I was trying to avoid that absurd original price. I paid my bill in full and in person to Maurelio at Bellaire ER within 2 days after our phone call and I got a receipt of my payment. In November, months after my accident, I started receiving bills from third party companies for my visit to Bellaire ER. This is where WEEKS of phone calls and messages started...weeks of me leaving messages, or just being told "Maurelio isn't here right now. Call back another day." It was frustrating that he was so difficult to reach and yet no one else, according to the Bellaire ER staff that I was speaking to, was able to answer my questions and concerns. They did look up my account in December, when Maurelio was gone on vacation, and they showed no payments were made to my account. What does it say that the fact that I paid mega bucks in cash didn't make it to my account when I paid in mid September? Even when I tried to call the numbers on the bills from the third-party agencies, their numbers were disconnected. How sketchy is that?!! Finally, around mid-December, as I continued to call, they let me know that Maurelio was gone for the holidays until the 3rd of January. Good for him, I guess! In the meantime, their entire billing department was just shut down!? What does this say about their organization and management? I waited and called again on January 3rd only to hear that he was in but was busy. When I explained why I was calling, I was told to text pictures of my bills to a cell phone number. How strange is that?! Since calling their main line wasn't getting me anywhere, I texted the bills and my frustrations to Maurelio's (work?) cell phone, (832) 844-9941. To date, I have still received no response. Now, my patience is spent and I am planning to write reviews, contact the BBB and write the State Medical Board. Maybe then I'll get a response. Maybe then Maurelio won't be "busy." All I can add is that I would highly suggest that you avoid this place if at all possible. read more

Disgusted with the way they treat patients. I brought my boyfriend in for a bad stomach ache, we've been before and did all the required tests for him to simply get an IV. This time the doctor, who was too lazy to even come see him, said he would have to pay $2,000 for a CT and blood work. When we asked if he can just get the IV since the tests in the past were normal, they kept saying it's up to the doctor. The same doctor who didn't even look at him. There wasn't anyone else there, so I'm not sure what was keeping him so busy he felt comfortable calling medical decisions without even seeing his patient first. Seems a tad.. negligent. On top of that, the nurses were rude the second we walked in, there was brown smears on the wall, and you could tell their medical equipment hadn't been wiped down in some time. I guess they didn't feel confident enough giving him a simple saline IV (something very standard) so they referred us to a IV clinic, which was closed. found a different one and what do you know, you can give an IV without $2,000 in pointless tests. If I could give zero stars, I would. I had the worst medical experience of my entire life going to this ER. I came in with my partner around 4 AM due to severe back pain I believed to be a complication from a UTI. We were the only other people besides medical professionals in the building at the time, yet my entire experience felt incredibly rushed. My intake notes were recorded on a napkin by the radiologist. I explained I had OCD and anxiety, but it was disregarded. The nurse could not get a stick to draw my blood or for the IV, but continued digging around in my arm even when I politely requested a break due to an oncoming panic attack. She seemed very annoyed but after asking 5 sperate times she allowed me "one minute" to compose myself. My IV tubes were dragged across the ground, and she began administering medication without ever explaining what she was giving me. I had to ask each time she began giving me something new. My doctor was incredibly unprofessional, describing my pain in infantilizing terms ("It hurts when you peepee?") as well as pressuring me into a CT scan for "blood in my urine" after I repeatedly explained I was menstruating. I was not given time to decide if I was okay with the CT scan or to figure out if my insurance would even cover it. The entire staff surrounded me as I called my parents to ask if the CT would work, even pressuring me to put them on speaker to explain there was "no diagnosis without the CT." He explained he was concerned about my uterus, bladder, kidneys, appendix, ovaries, and colon despite me explaining my UTI symptoms leading up to the back pain as well as my history of frequent UTIs. I was diagnosed with a kidney infection before radiology could look at my scans, and later confirm my kidneys had no sign of infection, so the CT scan was pointless. Again, I was the only patient present, there was no need to rush my decisions especially since they kept me on a saline drip for three hours anyway. I cannot imagine a worse way to be treated while I was in some of the most extreme pain of my entire life. If I could sue, I would in a heartbeat. read more

THIS PLACE NEEDS TO GET SHUT DOWN. I came with my sister to get a rapid covid test. They had us both go into the room together at the same time and the 2 nurses got confused/lack of communication with each other and they tried to test one of us TWICE. How do you NOT even know which patient to test? I was told results would be ready in X amount of time, and to sit in the car and wait. We were parked in front of the door watching nurses run back and forth with their thanksgiving potluck plates, almost 2 hours went by and they called us in for our "rapid" results once they were done feasting. I saw the time printed on my results and they had us just waiting in the car for an extra hour and a half. MIGHT I ADD THEY VIOLATED HIPPA POLICIES BY READING OUR RESULTS OUT LOUD IN THE MAIN ROOM WITH OTHER PEOPLE STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO US. Let's get to the funny part.. John Rosell (not sure who the heck he is since I came for a rapid test) thought my 1 minute visit with nurses nearly testing one of us twice was worth ~$1500. Bellaire ER then charged me an additional ~$4000. So this whole ordeal was ~$5500 for 1 minute in the clinic and sitting in the car for hours while they had a party, just to come inside and have the girl read my results out loud in a room full of people. Total ripoff. Charged my insurance $350 for COVID test and then turned around and charged the insurance plan $1400 for an ER visit. I remained in the car the whole time. Another patient visited for an injured leg from a fall. Gave them an unnecessary Cat scan to the tune of $5K when an X-ray by a competent Dr would have worked. Overall billed the insurance well into 5 figures for the hour visit. Insurance has denied it all. Thank god for some recently enacted surprise billing laws. Stay away from this place. Everyone here in this facility is very nice and friendly. The wait here has never been more than 20 minutes (including registration) and we were quickly brought into a room. This facility is also capable of diagnostic imaging like CT and X-Ray. It is also clean, which is really important to me. There is a very clear sign stating they don't take any Medicare, Medicaid or insurances secondary to either so you can decide to self pay or use your insurance and since I work for UT they offered a small deduction from my bill! Which was a huge plus!! As I'm reading some of the reviews below it seems that some of these people were not clear how their own insurance works and I don't think that's a problem related to this establishment, since they are just here to treat. And treatment was great! So if you understand the terms of your own insurance then you should be good! read more

Egregious Billing! I went to Bellaire ER in May 2019 for a visit that lasted under an hour. I heard nothing from them until December 2019 when they called and indicated that I owed them $900 above and beyond what they were getting from my insurance. I requested an itemized receipt as I had not received anything from them. I never heard from them again until today when they sent me a request to authorize a mediation with my insurance company and included the itemized bill which totaled 10,319! I looked up some of the specific charges on fairhealth.org and was shocked at how much Bellaire ER was charging above and beyond the out of network average costs for Houston. For example, they billed $1,222 to insert an IV and the average out of network price is $245. They billed $2,375 for an EKG read by their attending doctor and the average out of network price is $333. They billed $1,156 for Myglobin and the average out of network price is $371. Rest assured I will be fighting this and wanted to warn fellow Bellaire residents about Bellaire ER and their billing practices. read more

I went in several months back and am still receiving bills for what should not be billed, in my opinion. I received a intravenous saline solution and the next thing you know, I had an infection where they inserted the IV. That turned out more serious then my initial needs. At that time, they prescribed me some antibiotics for the infection that they caused. (more money out of my pocket) They stated that I should stop by and let them look at it in a day or two just to make sure it was on the healing trend. I did and I was billed for every single "look". In total, I went there three times, saw three different Doctors and had to explain myself each time as if their records meant nothing. If you are healthy enough to drive by this place to another facility, I would recommend doing so. read more

Friendly staff from the front desk, to the Nurse Phuong and Dr. Hussain. Dr. Hussain is such a friendly and funny doctor. Provided great treatment and medical advice that I am sure to follow. Went in sick... woke up feeling X 10 better. Provided IV with meds and a Chest X-ray done by tech Erik. I've read all the reviews regarding billing issues. I hope that won't be my case. I went into this place in October (thinking it was part of Bellaire's hospital system) with a cold. I gave them my insurance card, they did not ask for any co-payment. I received a steroid shot and antibiotic shot, did a nebulizer breathing treatment for 15 minutes and they wanted a chest x-ray. I received two bills in November for $684.74 and $171.46, respectively. Mind you, the original charges they presented to BCBS were $3,390.00 and $556.00. FOR A COLD. Once the insurance paid them a FAIR amount, they discounted the charges and sent me the aforementioned bills so all I owe them is $856.20, for treatment of a COLD. I called them today. It's like a switchboard - a bunch of collectors talking in the background. What a racket. The lady that took the call tried to explain that I had to meet my deductible of $750, etc. Whaaaat? What does my deductible have to do with what your gouging me?? When I mentioned insurance fraud and that I planned to file a complaint, I was directed to their email system: patientinquiry@360medbill.com. Yes, I do plan on filing a complaint and will write scathing reviews on every website I can. In fact, I'll probably just post this on FB too so all my friends in Bellaire will be warned too. I would have been happy to pay them a FAIR price for treating a COLD. These people are part of the reason why the entire system is failing and costing hard working Americans billions of dollars for the cost of health care. We've gone to Bellaire ER many times and it's always good service. Unfortunately I had to lower my rating when I received a bill for almost $6,000 for a visit that lasted less than an hour. Even my insurance company was outraged by the costs charged to me. I can't imagine the shock of those with insurance with bad coverage. Ms T & Kay were super friendly, helpful and competent, and there was a 15-20 wait for results. I don't leave our house much because I'm ultra-cautious and I have a compromised health concerns. I believe they have good safety protocols in place and I felt safe. I recommend Bellaire ER. read more

This place is amazing! I've been here twice. Never had billing issues so far. 2.5yrs ago I went in with horrible gut cramps and bloody diarrhea. I was cared for quickly and compassionately. They did a CT scan and determined I had colitis. But they also found a tumor on my right kidney and a kidney stone in my left kidney in the scan. I was told to follow up with my dr ASAP b/c the tumor was possibly cancer. I did just that and ended up having two surgeries. These people caught my tumor when it would have gone unseen. Then, a couple months ago I went in when I was having heart palpitations and feeling weak and lightheaded. Again seen very quickly. I don't agree with the Dr. on what he said was wrong, but I did get seen quick. I followed up with my Dr. afterwards. We watched the issue for awhile and it never came back. I had been out on a new medicine and the ER Dr was sure it was the medicine that caused the issue. However, it's not happened again so if it was it was a one time deal. Either way I do like this place. Again! I've never had billing issues. Hope not to have them. read more

Terrible terrible terrible service! They have a big table blocking the front door to the ER and the useless lady behind the front desk shouts to you...all she cares is "what is your insurance?" Then they have the nurse tell you no way can you be seen. All this from behind this big table. We had to leave there and drive somewhere else where they promptly saw us. An emergency room that doesn't care about patients!!??!! They are ridiculous non caring A Holes! Don't waste your time especially in an emergency situation. read more

My daughters needed a physical for school athletics. Bellaire ER offers them free of charge to Bellaire High School Students. No appointment needed. Quick and easy. They were very efficient. HORRIBLE service, HORRIBLE place. From the moment the 3 of us walked in, this place was just not right. The receptionist asked us to fill out a whole stack of papers when we arrived with my husband bleeding from his head completely oblivious to his injury as if this were some routine matter. The truth is, she couldn't care less and we soon found out neither did anyone else at this horrible place. The demeanor of this receptionist was completely detached and uncaring as if we were widgets on an assembly line. Although nobody was in the waiting room, we were asked to sit and wait like we had all the time in the world while he was bleeding. We stayed for a little while waiting to be called by the Dr. and during this time I asked what it would cost to be seen. The receptionist stated it would be $1400! We have insurance but she didn't mention that at all, although they take insurance. I'm sure that the billing part of all of this experience would be another issue given the attitude of this place. When we did her called back, they rudely told me that I couldn't go back with him! The nurse was extremely rude and nasty when I asked why the receptionist wanted us to fill out so much paperwork before he could be seen. Soooo unprofessional. Needless to say we left at that point and went down the street to Signature Care - it was like night and day, so much better!! We were seen right away, I was allowed to go back with my husband, they CARED, and they only had a very small half page sheet for me to fill out before they saw him. They didn't keep us waiting for no good reason. Receptionist was polite. Hardly any wait for the dr who had a caring and through bedside manner. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your time with Bellaire ER. Lots of better choices out there. Never had such an awful experience, and frankly had we read these reviews we wouldn't have come to this terrible place. read more

Last night was my 2nd trip to this ER (last time was 2016). I am so grateful for them. Vivianna was the 1st person I saw when I stumbled in (vertigo). She was so helpful knowing I was not in a position to fill out paperwork. My nurse Adriana was amazing. I am usually a tough stick for IVs but I didn't even feel a thing. Her bedside manner was so kind. She made me feel so comfortable and like she was an old friend who really cares. The RAD tech, Chrisanta, was like that too. She was so gentle and sweet. Dr. Weinberg had his hands full but still was very thorough and made sure I understood everything going on every step of the way and before I left. As much as I could go on about how great they are, I hope I don't have to see them again any time soon (at least not in that setting) read more

DO NOT USE Bellaire ER if you don't want an "ASTRONOMICAL" bill that will show up 2 months later. You'll be paying on this bill for a long,long time. They are not contracted on ANY insurance plan so if you are thinking you will pay your insurance ER copay think again. This should not be legal. The state of Texas won't allow the state insurance board to help you mediate the bill. If you think you were sick when you walked in their doors, you'll be seriously ill when you receive their bill. read more
