Like I was just some stupid guy the man working the register then looks me in the eye and says she is the rudest person he ever met I mean this is his coworker!!!!!! So I said I could wait for the fresh chicken tenders he looks at me again says good luck I'm clocking out so I waited 6 min and then the lady grabbed the 3- old tenders chucking them in a box mean as hell I then said I just waited for fresh so she threw the tenders back in the warmer and said THOSE Were NOT OLD!!!!!! It's the effect of being a rural small town. Employees are somewhere between bland, expressionless, vacant and just plain rude and discourteous. They do the job punching the buttons and collecting the payment, but that's where it ends. Understanding that, the store itself is massive. Several coffee options, frozen drinks, coolers full of many different brands and flavours. Shelves of most anything you could possibly need. But the biggest attraction: Chester's Chicken. Chester's is hot chicken prepared on site, offered in combination or ala carte'. When we lived downstate we ate Chester's for lunch 2-3 times a week. Imagine my surprise finding this one. I needed a digital photo to renew my passport. I haven't gotten one since back when my passport was first issued, and had no idea what had to be done. Fortunately, a Google search directed me to CVS. A CVS clerk directed me to Ryan. And Ryan handled the multi-step process as smoothly as anyone could ask. Ryan probably does this so often that he considers it no big deal. It was. I'd already been to another business which supposedly offered the service; turns out it didn't. So it was a pleasure to work with an employee who knew his business, did it efficiently, and was mighty friendly while doing it. There's plenty of pharmacies around Traverse City. Ryan and employees like him are CVS's competitive edge.

On the few occasions that I do go inside, folks here are courteous and helpful. However, one of my favorite reasons to stop here is because they carry the Ice Box ice cream bars. They are a little expensive but taste awesome. Not many convenience stores carry them but it seems that the EZ Mart chain does. They are a great reason to stop to fill up on gas... even if you don't really need to do so.
