I received a text message from someone who did not initially identify herself, informing me that she would not be able to do my hair because it was her son's birthday weekend. While I understand that personal commitments come up, I was disappointed that no effort was made to reschedule me with another hairstylist or provide an alternative solution. This left me scrambling to make other arrangements at the last minute. Overall, the lack of professionalism, communication, and customer care made this a negative experience. My original review focused on the makeup trial, communication, and customer service. I did not bring up deposits or finances. However, since those issues were raised, I feel it is important to provide additional context. While I understand BellaMae's deposit policy, I was told during my trial that a revised contract would be sent that evening or the following day. I was also told this would be around my payday, when I intended to move forward with booking. I never received the revised contract, and I was not comfortable sending a deposit without first reviewing and signing the updated agreement. I was instructed to book my trial online, which I did, but there was no follow-up regarding the contract or next steps. If the date was as time-sensitive as described, I would have expected some effort to confirm I had received the paperwork before assuming I was no longer interested. As for the makeup trial, despite several adjustments, I was ultimately unhappy with the final result. The foundation was not a good match for my skin tone and appeared orange on my complexion, which was not the natural look I had requested. I also felt uncomfortable being advised to have my eyebrows threaded or reshaped. I embrace a natural appearance and felt that my preferences were not fully respected. Regarding the stye, I am not claiming BellaMae caused it. However, developing one shortly after the appointment raised concerns for me. I rarely wear makeup because I prefer a natural look, so experiencing an eye issue after one of the few times I had professional makeup applied was concerning and became part of my overall experience. I appreciate your acknowledgment that communication regarding the hairstylist could have been handled better. I have been going to Ashley for lash extensions for over a year now. Ashley has also done makeup and hair for very special occasions in my life as well. I can't recommend her work enough and how talented she is as a stylist. She is honest and will do absolutely everything to make sure you don't leave the chair disappointed. Ashley's product in the salon are top of the line and can speak from personal experience since I buy the products to take home. Her location is in a beautiful and relaxing spot right about Starbucks which is an extra bonus! I can't wait for ashley and Aimee to do hair and makeup for my wedding day next year. I am newer to the area and hadn't found a Solon or hair stylist I've really loved, until I went to Ashley! I had over a year of grow out with blonde ends and brought my own hair extensions that weren't a perfect match. Ashley is amazing at blonde and blending (which isn't easy when you have three different colors of blonde and natural grow out) AND she was able to match my extensions perfectly by toning them!! Such an amazing experience and a beautiful and clean salon. Ashley became my favorite hair stylist I've ever been to after just one visit!
