My bathroom cabinets were delivered today and each of the three pieces had something that was not correct. Very disappointed that quality assurance did not pick up on a very obvious mistakes. Drawer fronts were not correct- drawers not the correct size. They did a lot of talking up front - sent a decorator to my home which was not needed- lots of drawings were done and yet- LOTS OF MISTAKES!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company. I finally got around to replace my front doors on my house. I did some research and I finally made a decision to use Bellari. I went there to pick out the two doors and two side lights. I had priced the same doors elsewhere and Bellari came in a lot less expensive. Once I signed the contract they had the installer come to my house and check the measurements. Less than four weeks later they were at my house replacing the doors and sidelights. The installers that they recommended were amazing. The two installers didn't waste any time and the doors look great. On top of that the installers cleaned up and hauled away my old doors and sidelights. To coordinate a full kitchen remodel is a challenging process; however, to do this through the Corona virus period created many struggles that were managed carefully and meticulously with the help of Steve Herbert and Kevin Koch. Words cannot express my gratitude for an amazing job of managing the project during challenging times. I'm finally enjoying my new kitchen and experimenting with all the cool appliances. The project started with the creative designer, Samantha Lockwood, which took over a year to finalize the design and my desire not to give up an appliance after the township denied my variance creating challenges that were skillfully managed by Samantha. The experience was amazing and our brainstorming efforts created a design that was award winning. Samantha made sure that all my ideas fit proportionately into the design and I truly trusted her judgement and guidance. Once the design phase was finished it was time to pass on the project to the project manager, which started with Steve Herbert. Steve started off the day with a smile and a strong good morning to make sure I was ready for the demo work. Whatever question/concern I had, Steve was able to reassure me that there was a need to tear down a wall and the workers would not damage anything beyond the kitchen; from a homeowner's perspective this was the scariest phase. As COVID affected everyone I was lucky to have two project managers as the installation phase was managed by Kevin Koch. Honestly, I was concerned that a large project had a change in PM and how the instructions I gave to Steve would pass onto Kevin. To my surprise, Kevin was awesome in his own way and like Steve provided me wonderful step-by-step guidance. As the installation phase had many intricate details, Kevin was on top of everything. On 2nd thought...I visited the showroom because I need to have a bathroom remodeled. Not the warm and fuzzy reception that I would expect especially for a repeat customer (and I did highlight that I was a repeat customer to the employee). When we started talking numbers I was asked my budget - I told her I didn't have one because I'm just starting to get bids. she gave me a range for the estimate - ok, that sounds high, but maybe someone can come look at the space and provide a precise estimate so I can compare it when I do get other bids. She reluctantly set up an appointment for the following week. The day before the appointment I got a phone call asking if I had gotten other bids because the range that I was given was pretty close to where the estimate will come in and she went on to indicate that I said it sounded too high "for me". Ummmm...I never said it was too high "for me" but somehow it seems the conclusion has been drawn that it is too high "for me". I'm sure people often waste their time getting estimates and not awarding them work but I prefer to work with someone who is not too presumptuous "for me". read more

This place is not your old Somerville Aluminum. We had been a customer of Somerville Aluminum for many of the 35 years we have lived in the area. We were always very satisfied with the wonderful jobs they did for us and the great customer service they provided even though they were always more expensive than their competitors. After Somerville Aluminum installed new windows in our house we even sent them a letter thanking them for doing such a good job. Everything changed when they were re-named Bellari Home Remodeling. I can't speak for their quality of work because we have never had them do any jobs for us even though we have tried twice. This last time, we called them to give us an estimate and they came to the house taking measurements and pictures --then disappeared. It's now been over 30 days since the estimate was done with no word of any kind from them. So long Somerville Aluminum, it was so good to know you. I found there products and workmanship fine, but they offered me a deal with 6 mos., no interest. Then, a new credit card acct. appeared on my Wells Fargo bank online. When I asked the salesman, he said it was nothing and to ignore it. This card had a 30% interest rate. I got the president of the company on the phone and related this and told him I thought it was deceptive and dangerous for people who couldn't pay off the balance in 6 mos. or weren't sophisticated. He told me that I should transfer the balance. He seemed unconcerned that his salesmen might have misled me. I'm so, so glad I went with Somerville Aluminum for my home renovation projects. I own a condo that I inherited from my dad. Everything was still original since they were built in the late '70's. SA worked on my full bath and kitchen and totally gutted and redid both rooms. First you work in the planning process with someone at the office. They go over every step and let you decide whatever you want to do. Then Tommy takes over as project manager and is over every day to oversee the work and stay in contact with you. They keep everything super clean. They make sure your house is protected by covering carpets and floors. Everything was exactly on schedule, even though I added more work (like putting in a new floor) in the middle of the project. They're very easy to get ahold of and you can reach anyone on the phone or through email. They keep you in the loop and don't try to upsell you or trick you into anything. Everyone is also very friendly and polite. There was only 1 guy working on installing everything, so you don't feel like a group of men are invading your home. I just have a patio door installed by Somerville Aluminum Inc. I have to say that the experience from the beginning to the end was as good as it gets. I was not sure what door to choose but project manager Ralph help me to make the right decision and as promised the door were delivered and installed in 4 weeks time. The carpenter Jerry that did the installation was excellent. He removed all rotten wood and replaced it with the new one. He paid such an attention to the detail that even I - the perfectionist - couldn't find anything wrong with it. He performed an exceptional work. I would not recommend using Somerville Aluminum. I've had problems with the windows, the door and the garage door they manufactured (or purchased) and installed. I've asked them to revisit the house here & there over the years to address ongoing issues I've had, but they always claim that the work was performed correctly...something that everyone who has had to do the repairs...disputes. You can feel the breeze flowing through the glass/frame in the winter. Many of the windows have caused water damage to the interior of my house because the windows were not only installed incorrectly, but were also never caulked/sealed properly. Are there any reputable contractors in NJ? Because I haven't met one yet. I often wonder if because I'm a female home-owner, unethical people take advantage? read more

They talked me into getting a deck that was 20ft long so there would be no seams eventhough I originally wanted it to be bigger. The deck took twice as long and what was stated in the contract and there were seams. On top of that they never told me about the re-imbursemnet at the end for permit fees that I was told were included in the total price. they were the most expensive quote i went with them cause i thought they were professionals but there was a huge lack of communication thoughout the process. Had Somerville Aluminum/Bellari Design remodel the "kids' bathroom." Two challenges: small space & boys/girls using facility. The original bathroom had the sink area separated from toilet/bath with a door. This enabled my daughter to shower, while the boys washed up. We decided to keep this setup to preserve the usefulness of the bathroom, however, it still felt too small. Our designer came up with the idea to raise the ceiling (made a tray ceiling) and create a 3/4 wall between each section instead of walling it up completely. This allowed light to pass to both sides and gave it a great feeling of openness. I would say that that idea alone was worth using this company, however, the installation and materials superseded that idea. We used neutral colors, chrome, wood-looking tile, and even driftwood. This bathroom is so beautiful; I wish I had done it this way for my master bath. Thank you!! read more

My mother recently had a large remodel done on her house. She had the basement, kitchen and a bathroom remodeled. I was very concerned about my mother finding the right contractors, as I have personally dealt with "below par" construction workers in the past. She is not a designer and needed help making decisions with cabinets, floor, etc. Somerville Aluminum stepped up and made the whole process comfortable and strait forwarded for her. Having worked in the trades, I was VERY pleased to hear how well this company took care of my mother's remodel. The workmanship is superior; not a fingerprint or glue-drop was left during final inspection. The kitchen and basement came out stunning, I hardly knew I was in the same house I grew up in. The workers were all diligent, speedy, clean and friendly. Thank you Somerville Aluminum for taking great care of my mother and her remodel. If you are thinking of a remodel yourself, don't sell yourself short. Give these guys a chance to offer their ideas and you will not be disappointed. Very disappointed with the installation of our bow window. We have used Somerville Aluminum for about 5 years and have been extremely pleased with both the service and products, but on our most recent purchase I feel that we were pushed in the direction of a higher priced item and it was not fully disclosed as to the downfalls. We would have been much more satisfied with warmer windows versus a prettier one that has a 10-15 degree temperature difference. I could have saved $3,000 and gone with a much cheaper company. Very disappointed and the company refused to offer a resolution or even a formula or explanation as to what temperature difference is normal. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I've now used Somerville Aluminum twice and have been satisfied both times. I had them replace s sets of picture and double hung windows about 10 years ago. There was a problem with a small defect in the glass of one of the picture windows and they came back out and replaced it - no charge/no problem. They dealt with the contacting the manufacturer to file a warranty claim - all I had to do was call them. That at was in about 2004 or so. Based on having used them for windows before, I went to their new showroom in Branchburg to get an estimate for a replacement window. I was impressed with the showroom. I dealt with Brain (salesman) who was new and also with David (owner). I hired them to replace 6 cheapo 15 year old vinyl replacement windows with top quality Ecosmart windows, replace a leaking skylight and make a roof repair. Here was my experience in March 2016: They were accommodating. Their price was reasonable and inline with other estimates I received. I did get a slight discount for buying six window vs only one. The whole project was not cheap (over $10K), but I think I got what I paid for. I bought top of the line materials and they were installed professionally. There was good communication. Brian and David were both easy to reach and returned calls/e-mails promptly. They showed up when they said they would and the job took as long as they said it would. They cleaned up after themselves. All-in-all, I recommend them for windows/roofing/skylights. I have hired many contractors over the last 20 years both for my home and for commercial property - I wish they all were as easy to deal with as Somerville has been. read more
