Belle Arti will be considered a favorite in the top five dining experiences I have experienced-- possibly the top spot-- not just for the overall experience of fine food, excellent service by some of the most professional and friendly people ever, but the surroundings. There is no need to explain what we had, for whatever you choose will be sumptuous and perfect.

Amazing experience, the restaurant is amazing, great service, must see the wine cellar, a 1400's water well, a piece of history.

Denis is the best server ever!! Made the night so special! Will be a night to remember for ever! The truffle tortellini was a-maz-ing!

We were walking around the city center of Bologna and found this restaurant by chance. It's off the main busy area which is nice. Of course we noticed the wood-burning pizza oven so we decided to enjoy a nice leisurely lunch and sat outside in front of the restaurant. All of the staff were friendly and our waiter was funny and provided us good service. We ordered pizza for our group of six and it was quite tasty. Worth a visit to dine here if you are in Bologna. You also may get to see the owners bulldog sitting out front who is friendly and cute.

After visiting the Ducati factory tour and museum, we decided to stop by this restaurant for a late lunch. ATMOSPHERE: There is indoor and outdoor seating available. It's a great place for lunch or dinner and is family oriented or a great place for two. DRINKS: There's a wide variety of wine including their house wines. Cocktails are limited. I ordered a Bellini to start off and it was very refreshing. Not too sweet. A little tart. FOOD: We ordered the salami and cheese platter along with the sausage pizza. I also ordered the grilled shrimps/lobate/scampi. The sample platter was a good starter. It had 4 diff types of salami, tomato bruschetta, and 1 type of cheese. It complemented the baguettes at our table. The pizza was only 6,50 euros and was pretty tasty. The dough was thin and crispy. The sausages were homemade and not too salty. The grilled seafood entree was the best seafood I've had in Italy!!! The lobster, shrimp, and prawns were very delicious! DESSERT: We had the creme brûlée with pistachios and the vanilla cake. The creme brûlée was well made. It almost tasted like a pistachio flan with light caramel drizzle. The vanilla cake was decent - nothing special. SERVICE: The waitress was not very attentive. It took her 20 min to take our order. 10 min to bring out an appetizer of salami and cheese. 30-40 min to bring out the entrees. The place was not crowded at all. Not sure if it's the kitchen or simply the waitress lagging or just how Italian restaurants are. OVERALL: This place deserves 4/5 stars. It would have been 5/5, if we didn't have to wait so long.

We had our first meal in Bologna at BelleArti and they did not disappoint. Grilled mixed fish was on point! Tortellini dish was a delish and the pizza perfect.

The food is amazing, BUT the real reason I keep coming back is Denis! The sweetest man ever and gives us 6 star service ever time (: love love love him !!!

Fantastic Italian dinner!!! Best we've had so far since we've been in Italy (went to Florence and Venice prior to here) and it was nice to dine outside in front of their restaurant front patio area. Had ceiling fans to cool you off if the weather is too warm. App: We ordered the Baked Eggplant with mozzarella for our app which came out looking like lasagna... Gave us pizza like bread to eat with it as well. Very tasty. I'm not a huge fan of eggplant but this was good! Mozzarella was perfectly melted with a crusty golden top. Primi: We decided to get two pastas and skip the secondi meat/fish dish as this was our last dinner and we HAD to try the ragu pasta and tortellini from Bologna. I ordered the Black Tortellini with Truffle. It was perfect! Tortellini was so fresh and soft, filled with some type of salami meat, very little meat though so it wasn't overwhelming. The truffle sauce paired very well with the pasta... overall dish was scrumptious, rich but not too heavy. My husband ordered the Tagialette with Bolognese Ragu. (Also a specialty of this city) This dish is amazing if you're looking for a pasta dish with more meat. The ragu sauce had so much flavor and noodles were so fresh!! We paired both dishes with the red house wine which was perfect for us. Not too heavy or intense. A pretty light red wine. Overall - great prices, friendly service (a little slow on service but we noticed that everywhere) and FANATSIC food!! Don't miss it!!

While the food was outstanding, the management and staff were even more impressive. I don't believe I've ever felt more welcome and comfortable after a restaurant. Finally, the location, just off Piazza Maggiore, was close enough to feel like part of the festive street scene, but not so close as to be overwhelmed or distracted. 20 thumbs up from our group of Americanos!

By the time we left, the place was fully packed. I was craving some fresh seafood, as all of the rich, delicious creamy and cheesy pastas I had been eating were starting to feel too heavy for me. The seafood platter I got was perfect, and I felt the price was very fair for the generous portions of seafood - all perfectly cooked! I wouldn't recommend the side of grilled vegetables for 6 euro, bland and nothing special. My favorite was the sea bream, scallops and shrimp. My husband ordered their lasagna and enjoyed it too, but not his favorite during our time in Bologna. Service was friendly and prompt (especially for European standards compared to what we're used to in the states). Based on our experience, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend La Mela to enjoy for dinner as one of your meals in Bologna!

We split the platter of meats, lasagna, tortellini, tagliatelle and ragu, and grilled veggies. The lasagna was soft, pillowy, and decadent without being heavy, the tagliatelle was al dente and flavorful, and the tortellini stuffed with creamy ricotta. For dessert we split a generous portion of tiramisu, which was creamy and rich. We had a couple bottles of Chianti. The ambiance is relaxing with a neighborhood vibes. They didn't have any tables outside so we were seated inside. Service (3.5/5): No WiFi unfortunately which isn't great for an international traveler like me. Standard European service. Not terribly friendly and not terribly efficient but I would say they were a bit more attentive than the norm. They did hook us up with some complimentary limoncello shots which was a really nice touch. Ambiance (3.5/5): A little quieter since it's off the beaten path which I like. A pleasant, homey restaurant. Drinks (4.5/5): We shared a bottle of wine. And the aforementioned limoncello shots. Food (4/5): We went with their pasta for two deal where each person gets three different types of pasta that you choose from six or so options. I love getting a variety of dishes so this was a nice way to do it. Not huge portions given the price but still delicious. The dishes were served to us quickly and we got to try some pastas we had never heard of. Overall: When in Bologna, Osteria Broccaindosso makes for a fine choice. It's a 15-minute walk or so from the center of town.
