I went over to tell them what happened and they had excuses and even tried to blame us for being in the way. I gave them a piece of my mind but had no way to hold the thrower accountable. the beveled edge disc was so close to hitting my kid's eyes. these two adult men cowards tried to wait for us to leave so they can go on playing. review: this is horrible behavior as people in public space and definitely worse as members in the frisbee community. it is just so wrong and unfair that these two grown men to hurt someone.. a small child... and acted like nothing happened and showed no remorse. call to action: 1. Be on the look out for a heavy-set asian man, short black hair with sunglasses and a medium built latino man with ear-length curly black hair. both about 5"7" to 5'9" tall and in their mid- to late-30s. they cant hit the basket but will shamelessly hit a child . losers. 2. dont hit people with a disc golf. if you do, be a normal person and help the person you injured and apologize. simple, right?

This is a converted golf course so it is laid out very nicely and has a paved path. There is long, mid, and short tees for each hole. The longs can be more than 700' so I played the shorts. I had over 10000 steps and it took 2hours 15 min to play Talon so just be aware of the distance. The course was well maintained and had a good amount of hills which is different from the flat courses in the Richmond area. I'm looking forward to playing a round on the second course there when I come back. There are two courses to play. The owner/operator was great and promptly returned my call when I got there. The first course starts to the left of the club house and the other one is across the street from the parking lot near a portajohn.

He prepared a BbQ sandwich for me and sold me some disxs ! Oh, the pro shop has a decent selection of discs. You do need to call in advance if you don't have a membership to make a tee time and be able to get past the manned gate. Green fee was $10 but was a good value. Definitely will go back again, but it is a good bit off the beaten path lol

FYI for horse people: The Harley Road trailhead parking lot is designed for horse trailers, with a nice turnaround. No need to back up! The map that comes up on yelp shows the BLM office, check the trail map online for trailhead parking lots. There are maps at the parking lots to take, with mileage for trail segments. I'm reviewing the recently opened 4.6 mile South Branch hiking and mountain bike trail. The trail is accessible from a few parking lots (see the trail map). I parked at the lot on Old Colchester Rd, which only has space for about 6 cars, but I've never had trouble parking. There are no restrooms, water fountains, or garbage cans, so plan to bring water, and pack your trash out. I think they participate in managed hunts (announced) but I would not be surprised to find poachers, so think twice about dressing in deer colored clothes! I've hiked and jogged the trail. There are a few segments where the trail splits and then merges, one more difficult segment for mountain bikes, another for hikers. The trails are clearly marked, and you can easily make a longer hike by combining trails. South Branch is shady, the whole way. The hills are challenging enough to be fun without being miserably painful. If you think of Burke Lake's trail as a 1 on a 1 to 10 degree of difficulty, I'd rate South Branch as a 3 or 4 but I'm not the strongest hiker. There isn't room for 2 to walk side by side in most spots, and keep your ears open. We yielded the trail to bikes, but the bike riders slowed and didn't mow us down. If everyone plays well together it will help - a bike could topple down steep ravines in a couple of spots, they need some room. But bikes need to watch out too. Dogs are allowed, leash laws apply. I don't think a jogging stroller would make it. Very bumpy. The marshy area has a raised walkway and the small creeks have bridges, so you will not get soaked. Mud pits have honeycomb cinderblock retainers which is really nice. I think this trail is a blast. I don't like crowds and I like a challenge. This is a hard run for me, but a good one. I am so happy to find a place like this with no crowds. Love it!! This is the link to the trail map as of June 2012 http://www.blm.gov/es/st/en/fo/lpfo_html/recreation.html
