During the week preceding Thanksgiving, I noticed one of my tires continually losing air. After filling the tire with air a few times, (like what am I thinking-it's going to fix itself, right?) I made an appointment at Belle Tire to have it looked at. Turns out I ran over a nail and the tire was not repairable. The replacement tire was not in stock as my tires are somewhat non standard. Also since this was the day before Thanksgiving, I expected additional delays in getting the tire. They put enough air in the existing tire so I was able to drive home before it ran out of air again. Surprisingly , my new tire arrived on Friday. Ethan was great to get me in without delay despite the fact they were being extremely busy with other appointments and their Black Friday promotions. An additional point-I usually don't buy the "tire insurance" or any other extended warranty insurance. If you have an all wheel drive car however, you may want to because if you ever have to replace a tire and the tread wear on the remaining tires is below a certain point when compared to the new tires, you need to buy all four tires instead of one. With the insurance, this is taken care of whether you can get by with one tire for need all four. I saved at least a couple hundred dollars having the tire insurance. Of course on Friday leaving work I notice my dash flashing my rear tire was low and then I see a nail in the tire when I get home... right before the holiday weekend with lots of plans to travel around to parks and see family. I called 3 days prior to my appointment before arriving to get my tires installed. Justin confirmed the tires were going to be in on the morning of my appointment which we scheduled for 5pm. I arrive at 4:45pm, checked in, and handed off my keys. My son and I sat and waited patiently. At 5:50pm Justin calls my name. Great we were ready to go. NOPE!!!!! "Sorry sir, but your tires are NOT here. They scanned in this morning, but are not here. We are mounting your old tires and will have you on the road shortly." I express frustration. Justin says he could give me a discount if we return tomorrow. I ask my son if we can cancel his planned event tomorrow and be back at 8am. He says, "yes". We confirm with Justin we will be back at 8am. He says he will run to Plainfield location and have tires by 8am next morning. I ask about what discount he could provide for our troubles. He says he'll take off $94. He leaves. At 6pm he comes back and tells me that my tires are there and that his staff was playing a joke on him. Now I'm pissed. I just canceled my sons event. The tires that were originally on my car are unsafe and now he tells me it's a joke. PISSED. I then ask, "so what are you going to do to resolve this joke? Discount? Anything?" He replies, "Nothing, I'll go out back and help wrap your vehicle up so you can be on your way ." We paid the invoice and got our vehicle after it was complete and left. Grateful I was able to get my son back into his event for the next day. I don't think I could recommend this Belle Tire location to a friend, family, or colleague. We messed up, here's a discount. Out of all Belle Tire locations, this is the easiest to get into, and quickest to get out of. If you purchase your tires at Belle (which has the best prices), rotation and mounting are free. I had just bought a newer car that needed new tires, so I chose Belle Tire Kentwood to do the job. When I got my car back there was a deep gouge/scrape near my front passenger headlight that wasn't there prior (the car is kept in the garage at all times, so a passerby couldn't have done this). I sent a note to Belle Tire's manager and he never responded. Kudos to him and Belle Tire's leadership. Great leadership. My tires never leaked before getting the new tires put on. Ever since getting the tires, the leak has gotten progressively worse. From refilling my tires every 3 - 4 months, to now refilling every other day. I did not have this problem before Kentwood Belle Tire's services. This is only conjecture, but I had brought my car in for a 5:00 appointment. Instead of turning me away and explaining that the 5:00 appointment was actually a drop off time, they courteously took the car and put the tires on. I'm sure the workers, who were planning on being done for the day, didn't appreciate that, thus the crappy workmanship and the key scratch on my car. I give an A+ to Belle Tire. Earlier this week, my car would not start while working in Grand Rapids. I had some very important appointments to make, but all the repair facilities were closed as it was after 6:00 pm. My towing driver was able to contact Belle Tire as they were open until 8:00 pm. The manager, Justin Davis, said he would work me in as it was very important The problem turned out to be a faulty fuel pump. Jake was the technician who diagnosed and fixed the problem. I have had so many good experiences with this Belle Tire location! Most recently, i got a flat last night, and a tow truck was not able to come until after 11:00pm. Obviously, the store was closed, so the tow truck operator just left the keys in the drop box. I called this morning at 8:05 to let them know about my car. It was already on the lift! FIVE MINUTES AFTER THEY OPENED they were FIXING MY CAR!! This was incredible to me. Even better, they said they would have it ready around 9:30, but they called at 8:55 to let me know it was ready. I couldn't believe it. They started before they opened and had my car fixed less than an hour after they opened- even though I wasn't there to drop it off or explain anything. Never get anything mechanical done here. You will be risking your safety and wasting your money. I brought my blazer in for a simple u-joint replacement. On a difficultly level this is an extremely uncomplicated repair. The repair seemed to go alright, took five hours longer than they had estimated, until I was driving across the states on my way to Arizona. I got about half way there and the rear most u-joint fell out. After a costly tow, cab ride, rental and a Saturday after hours repair the whole fiasco cost me several hindered dollars. The mechanic said that the wrong sized u-joint had been installed. After trying to get reimbursed for the repair from belle tire they gave me the run around for three months and finally told me they were not going to reimburse anything. Never trust these people with any repair. I wouldn't even bother to get tires there. read more

Stay far far far away from these guys. I brought a friends car here when trying to help with what seemed to be an alignment issue and the need for some new tires. After trying to up-sell us on more of their shit services they tried to convince my friend that her breaks were so bad that wouldn't even be safe to drive home. While I know there is some rust on the inside of the drivers side rotor the pads are still in great shape and have lots of life left. The rotors were already planned on being changed when the next set of pads went on in my garage. I had her agree to the alignment and wanted them to make sure they did a test drive and advise on anything else they thought needed service. I would normally do this but after a recent femur break I am on crutches and can't fit in her vehicle with my limited motion. We went to pick up the car on Saturday around 4:20p knowing they closed at 5:00p. You would have thought this was the first sunny day EVER! Two workers were in a clear hurry to get to seemed to be a road race somewhere with the way they took off from their parking spots and the business. Inside was a whole different experience. Every single worker except the gentleman helping us was getting yelled at for what they hadn't done and threatening to get written up for no complying. One other worker was called back in via cell phone to come finish moving cars around in his street clothes! That was all lame and I instantly knew I would NEVER return. Then the fun started, trying to leave the parking spot after having four new tires installed, an alignment and test drive. It was instantly apparent from four car spaces away and my windows up that either an axle, differential or transfer case were gone. After the screaming manger came out to put it in reverse and move 5' back and then back to drive and forward again it seemed like a transfer case. So ironic that after the work, a test drive (hopefully NOT from the speed racers leaving when we arrived!) and parking job the the entire transfer case internal guts just decided to go. Both the forward and receive. So funny they tried to quote us them doing the work to fix it. Stay very far way from Belle Tire, especially the Kalamazoo / 68th location. read more

They called us over a week later and demanded a downpayment and told us they have not even started any work on our vehicle. I have a job, my husband has a job, and we have three kids, because of this we have been paying for a rental car because they said it should only take about a week for repairs! Don't trust Belle Tire when they tell you they fill your tires with nitrogen. They don't. We got new tires several months ago from this store and we had them filled with nitrogen (we thought). They put black valve covers on instead of green (like you're supposed to do when you fill tires with nitrogen), but we didn't think much of it at the time. FYI- When our tires are filled with plain air, our car's low tire pressure alarm goes off when there is a drastic change in air temperature. That doesn't happen with they're filled with nitrogen. We went there yesterday to have them rotate the tires and we asked them why they hadn't put green valve covers on. They said they simply don't carry green covers. We then asked them what percentage of nitrogen they use. They said they use 80% nitrogen. A quick internet search shows that the air we breathe is 80% nitrogen; in other words, they didn't fill our tires with nitrogen, they used plain air. Another quick internet search showed that when you fill tires with nitrogen correctly the percentage is closer to 93- 98% nitrogen. We mentioned that fact to the clerk at the counter and he got real nervous and defensive and said "well I didn't check the gauge on the machine, I was just throwing out a number, but we have a nitrogen machine upstairs. It's green and everything. I just didn't go up and check the gauge." He then told another clerk that our car was done and to quick get it out of the garage. He was in a HUGE hurry to get us out of the store. BUSTED! read more
