The online scheduling experience worked well. When I arrived, the hygienist was nice and took my x-rays. I noticed that they use lots of fancy equipment like cameras and 3D representations. I was thinking that they were to help improve diagnosis, but when I read about them later, they're primarily advertised as sales tools to help dentists sell more work. They've had a lot of turnover, and so a very new dentist came in and told me I needed tons of work, and that they wouldn't even complete my cleaning unless I agreed to all of it. I had just recently been seen by my other dentist and had gotten a clean bill of health, so was a little bit surprised by this. I investigated more and discovered that the practice is now operated by a large company called Heartland Dental Inc. Heartland paid a $3 million settlement to the US Department of Justice to settle allegations of improper billing and unnecessary services. This was enough to turn me off the the practice -- I'm going to have to drive a little further but it'll be safer for my teeth and wallet! To close it all, I've now sent three requests for my records to be sent, and still haven't received them.

They definitely exceeded my expectations on all levels. My daughter did not have a negative thing to say about them. First off, when you drive up to their office it's quite impressive. I went back with my daughter, they got her settled in her room & went over things with me. (Very detailed) My daughter said the patient chairs were the best she'd ever been in. Her cleaning went well & she was very pleased with the end result! They recommended getting her wisdom teeth out (that won't be so wonderful, but necessary! She has severe TMJ issues that if not monitored things could get extremely painful for her. She got her braces off yesterday. So the dentist will play an instrumental part in making sure she doesn't slide backwards. The dentist was friendly & did a great job explaining what the next steps would be for her. We will definitely be going back for further dental needs. I was hesitant to share that information over email but obliged. 4 weeks later, never heard anything back. I called three times, left one message, the second time talked to the receptionist who told me she would call me back with the estimate, third time no answer. Emailed again. Nothing. I would have taken my entire family's business to Bellevue Family Dentistry and I have never even written a review like this, but if it is too difficult to call or email someone back with a price quote I certainly don't want them doing any work in my mouth.
